Abstract:
In the context of current and upcoming reforms of higher education, there are acute issues of target orientation of new educational programs under the orders of external stakeholders (state, region, employers, students, and their families, etc.), as well as their promotion for subsequent implementation to obtain the target result, ensure employment of graduates, satisfy customer requests. The purpose of the study is to present a case of effective promoting a new type of higher education programs, which involve vertical school-university integration, to formulate recommendations for their promotion, and to evaluate the results of recruitment. The following research methods are used: analytical and comparative, analysis of documents, labor market segments review, marketing promotion plan formation, key performance indicators analysis etc.The case analysis shows that in the context of competition for applicants, the use of activity-based tools for promoting educational programs, which imply immersion in practice-oriented learning from school (for instance, involving schoolchildren in university projects), as well as other forms of active marketing can give better results than traditional approaches.

Abstract:
Many academics are increasingly pushing for solutions to address inequitable partnership dynamics in global health research and practice. Efforts to improve equity in collaborations have prompted academic institutions to grapple with promotion and tenure criteria (usually Global North institutions), as these criteria often require leadership on grants, publications, and conference presentations for advancement. From inequitable funding opportunities to the invisibilization of Global South researchers, these components are rooted in normalizing and upholding unequal power dynamics. Therefore, the purpose of this project was to explore ways in which Global North academic institutions can value supportive roles taken by their investigators in global health research. A special session was held at the 2022, Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) meeting, entitled “Incorporating Anti-Racism, Anti-Colonialism, and Anti-Oppression Efforts into Faculty Promotion.” The purpose of the workshop was to assess current practices that participants’ institutions incorporated in promoting anti-racist, anti-colonialist, and anti-oppression efforts within their faculty promotion practices as well as to brainstorm future solutions. A qualitative analysis of the discussion transcripts yielded several themes, including (1) making structural changes to the promotion process, (2) incorporating anti-racism/anti-colonialism perspectives into promotion packets, (3) recalibrating agenda setting and collaboration in Global North-South partnerships, (4) assuring strong mentorship for assembly of the promotion packet, and (5) developing effective capacity strengthening efforts. Given these results, we call upon the global health academic community to implement these suggestions in their policies and practices.

Abstract:
Health promotion is mostly framed as a discourse and practices based on a set of values and principles that promote changes at various levels (individual, community and global). There is no well-defined knowledge base and no widely agreed knowledge development methods. During the past decades, health promotion knowledge has developed following a potluck model. Researchers from various disciplinary backgrounds attracted to the values and transformative vision of health promotion have used their disciplinary-based research methods and theories to conduct studies about the various practices that are associated with health promotion. Although health promotion research has acquired many attributes of a distinct field, researching practices from various disciplinary perspectives is not sufficient to create a coherent knowledge base for health promotion. We propose three dimensions to further structure health promotion research. The first relates to the object for which knowledge is produced. For health promotion research this relates to health social practices. The second dimension relates to the purpose and ethics of research. In the case of health promotion research it pursues the dual purpose of producing knowledge (epistemic aim) and contributing to social changes (transformative aim). The third dimension concerns the knowledge produced and the conditions for valid knowledge. In the case of health promotion research, the condition of knowledge production should include a recognition of the complexity of social practice and the necessary dialogue between scientific. True to health promotion principles, we propose a bottom-up process for structuring the field through the creation of a ‘Global Handbook of Health Promotion Research’ that would draw on the research practices of those involved in health promotion research.

Abstract:
Background:Physiotherapists are better placed to spearhead health promoting activities by encouraging health enhancing lifestyles as part of their practice. This study reviews health promotion practices of Physiotherapists in African countries in order to identify gaps and make recommendations to improve the health promotion practices. Methods:This narrative review was developed from a literature review of previous studies on health promotion practices among physiotherapists in Africa, which were published in English from the years 2010-2020, retrieved from Google Scholar and PubMed. Only articles that focused on health promotion, physical activity, practices, Physiotherapy and Africa were included. Results:Nine (9) studies met the inclusion criteria for this review. Five (5) studies were from Nigeria while one study each from Rwanda, South Africa, Ghana and Ethiopia. Most studies reviewed used quantitative cross-sectional surveys. The focus of these studies were mainly exploring Physiotherapists’ knowledge, attitude and practices towards health promotion and physical activity promotion. Others looked at Physiotherapy practices with regards to counseling, risk factor assessment and interventions as well as perceived barriers and educational needs. Conclusion: It is evident that there is little research done on health promotion practices among Physiotherapists in African countries. There is need to conduct more studies in this area in order to identify the challenges and improve the health promotion practices among Physiotherapy practitioners in the region.

Abstract:
Retention of employees in universities is paramount for producing quantity and quality of human capital for economic development of a country. Turnover has persistently remained high in private universities despite employee attrition by institutions, which can disrupt organizational stability, quality of education and reputation. Objectives of the study included performance appraisal, staff training and promotion practices on retention of employees. Correlational research design and quantitative research were adopted. Total population was 85 with a sample of 70 which was selected through simple random sampling. Data collection was through questionnaire and analysed using multiple linear regression with help of SPSS. Results showed that both performance appraisal (t=1.813, P=.076, P>.05) and staff training practices (t=-1.887, P=.065, P>.05) were statistical insignificant while promotion practices (t=3.804, P=.000, P<.05) was statistically significantly influenced retention of employees. The study concluded that performance appraisal and staff training has little relationship with employee retention whereas promotion practices affect employee retention in private universities. Therefore, it was recommended that organizations renovate performance appraisal and staff training practices while promoting employees annually, review salary structure, ensure there is no biasness and promotion practices should be based on meritocracy. The findings could benefit management of private universities, Government and researchers. Keywords: Performance appraisal, staff training practices, promotion practices, employee retention.

Abstract:
Research on poor-quality journals seems to be an inexhaustible study. The present study aims to understand the experiences of 3 Indonesian academics who published their scientific articles in disreputable journals. This phenomenology study was conducted within the framework of a qualitative approach. Data were collected by in-depth interviews academics. The study identified three key themes: Lack of Necessary Skills, Overestimation of Western Hegemony, and Acceptance of Fate. The findings indicated that some factors caused the academics to take shortcuts to get their articles published. The pressure to acquire the promotion to become a professor was the main factor influencing Indonesian academics to publish in these fast-turnaround journals. The findings highlight the need for academic institutions and policymakers to critically address the systemic pressures that drive scholars toward low-quality publishing outlets. Strengthening mentorship, providing training in academic writing, and reforming promotion policies to reward quality over quantity are essential to safeguard academic integrity. Furthermore, the study underscores the global implications of these issues, urging international academic bodies to collaborate in setting higher standards for research dissemination and evaluation practices.

Abstract:
The current systematic analysis aims to review promotion strategies and brand equity literature published in the last decade to unfold the new doors in the promotion and brand equity measurements and their elements in the area of multidisciplinary promotional research models. The study has searched five major databases to identify the relevant literature. We have selected quantitative research articles from the Web of Science (WOS) - Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) for the thematic exercise. The analysis reveals that the effects of monetary and non-monetary promotions vary across cultures, with some elements positively influenced and others negatively. It also identifies new themes in brand equity and sales promotion across multidisciplinary marketing paradigms. The research has extended to new systematic and thematic reviews from all Web of Science databases and extended it to apply in thematic research with the conceptualization in qualitative and quantitative research. The current research contributes to the literature by consolidating the findings of major studies in the last ten years on promotions and brand equity. It has identified gaps and highlighted new emerging fields of consumer marketing. The study has also identified and listed the theories that researchers have used in promotion and brand equity in the last decade. The research has identified conceptualization in different streams of marketing research, such as brand equity and sales promotion, with the help of big data, artificial intelligence, neuro-marketing, experiential marketing, sensory marketing, and brand anthropomorphism that will help in policy development and marketing managers for best-targeted marketing practices.

Various stakeholders in science have put research integrity high on their agenda. Among them, research funders are prominently placed to foster research integrity by requiring that the organizations and individual researchers they support make an explicit commitment to research integrity. Moreover, funders need to adopt appropriate research integrity practices themselves. To facilitate this, we recommend that funders develop and implement a Research Integrity Promotion Plan (RIPP). This Consensus View offers a range of examples of how funders are already promoting research integrity, distills 6 core topics that funders should cover in a RIPP, and provides guidelines on how to develop and implement a RIPP. We believe that the 6 core topics we put forward will guide funders towards strengthening research integrity policy in their organization and guide the researchers and research organizations they fund.

Abstract:
Health promotion is the process of enabling people to increase and improve their health. Health Promotion has globally emerged as a separate stream of public health but in Nepal it is still a relatively new concept. There are challenges related to research in the field of health promotion. Health promotion requires policy makers across all government departments to make health a central line of government policy. The aims of this study is to discover key policies and strategies of health promotion in Nepal and to identify the different activities and practices carried out by them. This study is based on review of the national health policies that were published in different period of time. The paper argues that health promotion requires policy makers across all government bodies to make health a central line of government policy since health policy is one of the most important aspects of the livelihood development of a country.

Abstract:
This paper explored the influence of promotion practices on the commitment, efficiency, responsiveness, and goal attainment of public servants in Nigeria. Public sector organizations are vital for national governance and development, particularly in countries like Nigeria. The performance of public servants, who play a crucial role in policy implementation and service delivery, is significantly influenced by their perceptions of fairness and transparency in promotion practices. Despite the importance of these employees, they encounter challenges such as political interference, nepotism, and bureaucratic inefficiencies, which complicate promotion decisions. These issues can undermine employee motivation and overall organizational performance. This study draws on the Expectancy Theory of Motivation to investigate how various promotion practices, whether merit-based, seniority-based, or influenced by other factors, shape public servants' perceptions of reward expectancy and, subsequently, their work behaviors. The study is a cross-sectional survey. The research indicates that when promotions are viewed as merit-based, public servants exhibit higher levels of commitment, efficiency, responsiveness, and achievement of goals. In contrast, promotion systems perceived as politically biased or lacking transparency correlate with lower morale and diminished organizational outcomes. Using a survey of 1,216 Nigerian public servants, the study identifies significant demographic trends that influence employee perceptions and performance outcomes. The findings demonstrate strong correlations between transparent, meritocratic promotions and positive employee behaviors, including heightened job satisfaction, efficient task execution, and proactive goal pursuit. Conversely, opaque and politicized promotion practices result in disengagement, reduced efficiency, and poor alignment with organizational goals. Thus, it is imperative to strategically align professional development with promotion criteria. Policy reforms are essential to remove political influences from the promotion process. Advocating for changes that minimize bias and prioritize merit over political affiliation will foster a more equitable and objective system, ultimately benefiting both public servants and the communities they serve in Nigeria.

Abstract Nowadays, life is an uninterrupted discovery. The consumers tend to have a healthier lifestyle, with a diet that has optimal nutritional values, to maintain their health, in harmony with the nature and the environment. Thus, marketing is selling dreams, impressions, perceptions, creating the opportunity to live through a unique experience, to help the customers write their own story, not just to satisfy them. The main objective of this research is to find ways to support promotion and sales of ecological producers in agriculture. Producers offer high quality products, with no artificial additives and contribute to the protection of the biodiversity and the environment, and implicitly of our health. The exploratory research represents the main purpose of this paper. Starting from the analysis of the literature review related with ecological agricultural market, the evolution of the customer’s behavior and the identification of the components of the promotional mix, an overview is established. The in depth interviews and the analysis of international models show that informing the producers regarding the consumer’s dynamic needs (product diversity and freshness, adaptability to the market demand, online orders, home delivery, the client feedback, the possibility to return goods, to process their own products etc.), openness to associations and collaborations on horizontal and vertical axes, communication and information campaigns, the multi-functionality of farms, proactive promoting, creating a cluster structure are among the key factors to improve sales and promotion.

<em><strong>Abstract</strong></em> <em>This study examined the relationship between human resource career development practices and retention of teachers in secondary schools in Rubabo County, Rukungiri District, Uganda. The objectives of the study were to establish the relationship between employee performance appraisal, staff training practices, promotion practices and retention of teachers in secondary schools in Rubabo County Rukungiri District. The study adopted the correlational research design on a sample of 153 using a self-administered questionnaire. Data were analysed using quantitative data analysis methods namely; descriptive statistics that were frequencies, percentages and means, and inferential analyses that were correlation and regression analyses. Descriptive analysis revealed that teacher retention, performance appraisal, training practice and promotion were moderate. Regression analysis revealed that training had a positive and significant influence on the retention of teachers but employee performance appraisal and promotion practices had a positive but insignificant influence on the retention of teachers. Therefore, it was concluded that training was a pre-requisite for promotion retention of teachers. However, employee performance appraisal and promotion in the schools were weak to influence the retention of workers. It was thus recommended that the government of Uganda and schools&rsquo; authorities provide teachers with opportunities for training. Still, the Education Service Commission, headteachers and foundation bodies which are responsible for the promotion of teachers should reform the promotional practices in order to provide higher chances of promotion since promotion was almost non-existent. In addition, school headteachers should implement an effective performance appraisal system because it was low in schools.</em>

Abstract:
Complexity-oriented approaches built on complexity theories are not widely used in health promotion research. The field of health promotion faces significant difficulties in explaining and addressing unforeseen impacts and side effects due to the widespread tendency to implement health promotion initiatives that are considered best practices. It is important to theoretically embrace the fact that we operate in a complex world and that we, therefore, need to redefine our approaches by acknowledging the complexities involved in promoting health. In this theoretical paper, we propose a set of four complexity-oriented principles for health promotion research based on Niklas Luhmann’s systems theory: (1) direct transfer of health knowledge and health competencies is impossible; (2) all individuals and social entities are fundamentally different from each other; (3) the individual’s sense of health-related meaning determines what is deemed relevant; and (4) it is essential for communication to meet expectations if it is to be observed. The set of principles presented in this article can be applied to research projects intended to explore and address challenges related to complexity in health promotion settings. It can be used as a lens through which to observe health promotion practice. If health promotion research wants to address the field that we have defined for ourselves as extremely complex and unaddressed by anyone else, we need to embrace approaches that actually do this—by providing health promotion research with a formal framework appropriate to its existing main purposes and concerns.

Driven by global burden of disease and inequalities in health care, research activities in resource-poor settings have radically increased. However, a corresponding increase in reporting of research from these settings has not been observed. This article critically explores the importance of promoting and reporting of health research from resource-poor settings, current trends, and practices, and discusses the key challenges faced by researchers from such settings. These challenges include changing face of open-access (OA) and online publishing, the threat of predatory OA journals, authorship and international partnership ethics, attitudinal problems hindering research reporting, and a lack of alternative publishing spaces. A combined, decisive effort is needed to bridge the gap between research activity and reporting in resource-poor settings.

Since then, a heightened awareness of the damaging practice of using JIFs as a proxy for the quality of individual papers, and to assess an individual’s or institution’s accomplishments has led to changes in policy and the design and application of best practices to more accurately assess the quality and impact of our research. Herein I summarize the considerable progress made and remaining challenges that must be met to ensure a fair and meritocratic approach to research assessment and the advancement of research.

Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this study was to compare the promotional methods applied by LAZISMU with ACT in Medan City. Analyzing the amount of costs used to carry out promotional activities, as well as the impact of the promotions carried out. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The data collection method in this study used indirect interviews using telephone lines to prevent transmission of COVID 19. The results of this study indicate that LAZISMU and ACT have different branding tendencies. This difference is because the two zakat management organizations have different positioning. LAZISMU is affiliated with a leading community organization in Indonesia, namely Muhammadiyah so that LAZISMU can mobilize all available resources within Muhammadiyah to support LAZSMU's performance. ACT, which is not affiliated with any mass organization, has more free space. ACT makes optimal use of all its resources so that it can get maximum results later. ACT makes humanitarian issues such as disasters a main brand in its marketing practices, while LAZISMU focuses more on routine humanitarian programs. The marketing method applied is to reduce the costs required for promotion. These two LAZs state that the marketing practices carried out so far have had quite a positive impact on the sustainability of LAZIS activities.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT IMPACT: Recognizing Interdisciplinary Collaborative Research in Promotion and Tenure Processes OBJECTIVES/GOALS: Academic institutions have traditionally focused on individual achievements for promotion. We present our effort on identifying and measuring attitudes on promotion and tenure (PT) criteria that values and rewards interdisciplinary research (IR). We have developed a toolkit to facilitate the recognition of IR in PT processes. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: Our group reviewed appointment, promotion and tenure (APT) policies from each of the six Health Science Schools and the College of Engineering at the University of Washington (UW) to assess language of objective criteria and attributes of IR to guide APT committees in the evaluation of interdisciplinary researchers. We surveyed faculty about their attitudes relating to IR within the context of promotion and tenure. Interviews of department chairs and administrators about institutional policies and infrastructure that supports or inhibits IR, and current best practices, were conducted. We have developed toolkits for junior faculty, department chairs, external reviewers, and APT committees to facilitate rewarding IR at promotion. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: Review of APT policies found criteria that recognizes IR for APT in three schools. 118 faculty responded to the survey (44% Professor, 26% Associate, and 37% eligible for APT committees). The majority of faculty reported they were currently conducting IR (95%), considered IR important (98%), and believed the UW faculty code should encourage IR (85%). Although a vast majority considered their units supportive of IR (&gt;80%), less than half (43%) reported that their APT criteria provided examples that included participation in IR. Our survey also found that APT committees were challenged about best practices to reward IR, APT external reviewers struggle to evaluate individual vs team contributions, and individual faculty are challenged to describe contributions for APT within context of an interdisciplinary team. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF FINDINGS: IR is conducted and valued by UW faculty; however, current structures, policies, and APT code do not facilitate IR for promotion and tenure. We have developed a toolkit for promotion-eligible faculty, chairs, external reviewers, and APT committees to facilitate IR. Our goal is to modify UW faculty code and unit APT criteria to recognize and reward IR.

Abstract:
140 Background: Black men are disparately affected by prostate cancer (PC). They are more likely to develop PC and at an earlier age when the disease is more advanced at diagnosis. As a result, Black men are two to three times more likely to die from PC than white men. Given these disparities, experts increasingly promote screening for PC in Black men at a younger age. Methods: To inform implementation of a quality improvement education (QIE) project in three primary care practices in Maryland, a zip code analysis of the prevalence of PC was performed. Maryland practices were selected due to higher rates of PC in regions of the state and significant Black populations (Table). The QIE initiative started with a baseline practice assessment survey (including information on panel size, patient demographics, PC screening/treatment approaches, and barriers) and an analysis of current PC screening rates. Health system leaders and champions from the practice sites received training on patient-centered conversations with high-risk Black patients and concerning QIE planning. The champions developed rapid cycle improvement plans to implement increased screening using a patient-oriented online educational platform ( Dr. PSA ), as well as posters, and placards for patient education. Results: The overall national prevalence of PC in Medicare Fee-for-Service Program beneficiaries in 2018 was 2.65%. For Black beneficiaries the overall prevalence was 2.89%. Prevalence for beneficiaries in specific Maryland zip codes are detailed in Table. *Data not available; Source: NMQF Prostate Cancer Index Baseline practice assessment data revealed that patient panels ranged from 4,000 to 58,163 patients, with Black patients accounting for 50% or more of two of the practices and 25 to 50% of the third practice. Barriers to screening identified include financial issues, insurance restrictions, and lack of knowledge about PC and screening. Baseline screening rates are approximately 75%. Conclusions: Zip code prevalence analysis and baseline practice assessment data confirmed the relevance of implementing a QIE initiative in the three selected sites. Through a mixed-methods evaluation study, practice staff knowledge, attitudes, and self-reported practices will be assessed pre- and post-QIE initiative to assess impact of the initiative and determine opportunities for further improvement in PC screening practices.[Table: see text]

Abstract:
PAR methodology in educational research holds significant potential to empower both researchers and research participants (co-researchers). By fostering critical consciousness and awareness of their shared context, PAR enables the participants to collaboratively generate context-specific knowledge and develop strategies to address the challenges within their practice settings. Although the history of using PAR as a research methodology by university researchers in Nepal is relatively recent, its application is gaining momentum and popularity within the academic community. This growing acceptance highlights its relevance and effectiveness in addressing complex real-world issues through collaborative efforts. PAR is particularly well-suited for designing, implementing, and evaluating school-based health and education practices. Its participatory approach ensures that interventions are tailored to the needs and realities of the target community, making them more sustainable and impactful. By engaging educators, students and other stakeholders in the research process, PAR not only enhances the effectiveness of interventions but also fosters a sense of ownership, critical thinking, and empowerment among all participants. This methodology, therefore, offers a transformative framework for addressing educational and health challenges in diverse and resource-constrained settings.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, it offers a systematic analysis of the data available regarding Spanish scientists’ dissemination activities; on the other, it seeks to shed light on their behaviour and motivations. To do this, we consider the context of Spanish society and the conditions affecting the work and professional promotion of scientists. We present evidence from two surveys of CSIC researchers and of participants in Spain’s main science fair, with the caveat that the data were obtained in a methodologically favourable scenario. A contrast exists between scientists’ vocation to disseminate and the limitations derived from a low degree of interest in science in Spanish society, together with professional promotion policies that do not give priority to dissemination activities. This leads us to conclude that Spanish scientists are trapped between dissemination activities governed by moral values and a scarcely favourable social and professional context.

Abstract:
Objective Vaccination misinformation is widespread on social media. Vaccine-promoting organisations are working to curb its influence, but face obstacles. We aimed to analyse their social media strategies and the challenges they encounter. Methods In this qualitative study, we purposively sampled 21 participants responsible for social media from vaccine-promoting organisations. We used Framework Analysis to explore the data. Results Vaccine-promoting organisations faced obstacles using social media, including fast-paced change, limited resources, and insufficient organisational buy-in. They experienced difficulties reaching audiences, exploiting social media listening, and measuring impact. Consequently, they may miss opportunities to counter misinformation, connect with groups low in vaccine confidence, and determine diverse audience responses. They lack strong evidence linking social media strategies with behaviour change, and have difficulty understanding silent audiences. Conclusions Vaccine-promoting organisations have an opportunity to embrace the participatory nature of social media. They could share listening insights with like-minded groups, and conduct research exploring associations between social media strategies and community attitude/behaviour change. Social media platforms could assist by renewing vaccine-promoting organisations' organic reach, supporting the development of tailored listening and credibility tools, and strengthening collaborations to promote credible content.

Although health promotion scholars encourage researchers in the field to adopt a broad definition of health and a wide lens on the factors which shape it, critics have noted that health promotion research continues to be focused downstream on individual health behavior, downplaying the powerful role of structural determinants. We argue that increased use of qualitative approaches in health promotion could support the shift away from clinically defined disease and towards health promotion practices which advance community well-being and empowerment. We focus on three overlapping tensions, namely the inclination to predefine standards for ‘healthy’ behavior, the tendency to undervalue the role of structural factors, and the propensity to advocate for universal rather than targeted approaches. We support our case by exploring three examples from tuberculosis research.

Abstract:
The use of photovoice in men’s health promotion research has grown significantly over the past 15 years. Initially mobilized as an elixir for men’s talk about health practices and illness experiences, participant-produced photographs and accompanying narratives have grown significantly in reach, influence, and application. The current article highlights the gendered dimensions of photovoice in men’s health promotion research across three studies addressing (1) psychosocial prostate cancer care, (2) fathers’ tobacco reduction and smoking cessation, and (3) male suicidality. Insights drawn from the psychosocial prostate cancer care project emphasize the plurality of masculinities, and the implications for health promoters treating the common treatment side effect of erectile dysfunction. The relational nature of gender is central to the fathers’ tobacco reduction and smoking cessation work whereby the well-being of partners and children strongly influenced men’s behavior changes amid guiding adjustments to smoke-free policies. The male suicidality research highlights the unmuting powers of photovoice for making visible the interiority of men’s mental illness, and the destigmatizing potentials for sharing participants’ accompanying narratives. Evident across the three projects are the gendered dimensions of photovoice processes and products for advancing understandings of, and avenues toward, promoting the health of men and their families. After reflecting on these advances, we offer recommendations for future men’s health promotion photovoice work.

Abstract:
Purpose Parent-focused interventions (PFIs) are a promising method for supporting parents and promoting children’s well-being. Few PFIs in the USA, however, include physical health promotion content and are universal programs. The purpose of this paper is to describe a universal health-promoting PFI for parents of elementary school-aged children and demonstrate proof of concept. Design/methodology/approach The program emphasizes positive parenting practices, stress management skills and physical health promotion strategies and recommendations, and is part of a larger initiative that includes a continuum of universal, developmentally appropriate, health-promoting PFIs for civilian and military parents. The program was implemented at two community sites in rural Pennsylvania with 20 civilian parents completing pretests and posttests. Study measures assessed parenting, stress and stress management and physical health promotion related outcomes. Findings Parents reported decreases in suboptimal discipline and feeding practices, stress and child internalizing behavior. They also reported increases in their sense of control in managing child behavior, coping socialization, child’s outdoor playtime and health recommendations met. Research limitations/implications While these preliminary findings may not be generalizable, they serve as proof of concept, which suggests that more rigorous research on the program is warranted. Practical implications Implementing a universal, health-promoting PFI within the USA is viable and has the potential to impact multiple short-term outcomes. Originality/value Parents are among their child’s earliest and most influential educators, and this study lends further support to their role as health educators. Given the significant public health benefits of holistically promoting child health, the time has come for universal PFIs to begin including physical health promotion content.

Results: We established eight sets of Health Promotion practices: 1) Educational activities focused on behavioral/habit changes and development of personal abilities; 2) Intersectoral practices and community social networks involving other community equipment; 3) Practices that encourage community organization and participation; 4) Integrative and Complementary Health practices; 5) Practices that stimulate meeting people, sociability, art, and creativity; 6) Practices that encourage environmental and food sustainability; 7) Practices that stimulate income generation; 8) Community communication practices. Conclusion: We identified a heterogeneous field of practices to promote health established through the circulation of different types of knowledge and powers. The practices are permeated by discourses linked to neoliberal governability and practices that position themselves against such discourse.

Abstract:
Purpose – The present study, after reviewing the relevant literature and the recent trends that became evident from the Open Education Global Conference 2018 (and other similar fora), documents the best practices to be adopted by the Greek academic libraries, in order to support the OER actions in Higher Education by making the Academic Community aware of the culture of OER adoption/use. Design/methodology/approach – It emerged from the analysis of the empirical results of a relevant research conducted among faculty of Greek Universities. The research inquired into the support/guidance that academic libraries offer to the faculty of their institutions for: a. adopting/using Open Educational Resources (OER), b. creating OER and c. OER intellectual property (copyright). Findings – The results of the research showed that most of the faculty does not consider academic libraries much supportive of them in any of the three areas investigated -as opposed to what occurs in Europe and internationally. Originality/value – The practices documented could: a. gain advantage from the existing library infrastructure and enhance the know-how and digital competence of librarians in the following areas: OER location, intellectual property (copyright), metadata and quality assurance, institutional repositories (storage and preservation), b. support faculty and students in cultivating their digital skills and thus achieving “OER Literacy”.

Abstract:
Objective - Food is an integral part of humanity. However, eating remains one of the poor practices of college students. Students have yet to practice sustainable dining procedures that affect their health and well-being and the environment because of food waste. Thus, this study intended to identify the dining practices of college students and some of the factors affecting those practices. Whether the factors are directly related to the dining practices and the latter were related to sustainability. Methodology/Technique – A quantitative-descriptive-correlational research study that utilizes a survey questionnaire, which comprises the individual, physical, social, and macro-environmental factors affecting the dining practices of the students during the rise of the pandemic, was used in this empirical study. Data was collected from 396 college students who underwent statistical and Pearson correlation analysis. Finding – The findings showed a direct relationship between the dining practices of the respondents and the various factors. Students practiced several dining practices, specifically drinking 5-7 glasses of water, and sustainable dining practices, such as eating home-cooked meals and choosing eco-friendly packaging. Novelty – Research findings can be relevant as an instrument for future interventions that promote and support the adoption and promotion of sustainable campus dining practices programs. Abstract:
Modeling enhances client understanding by creating a visual representation of their world, promoting facilitation, nurturing, and unconditional acceptance within their framework and perspective. The study investigates secondary-level teachers' practice of modeling skills in classrooms for student health promotion, focusing on Nepalese schools and considering the modeling constructs from the "modeling and role modeling theory." The study utilized a cross-sectional survey design with a descriptive quantitative approach, involving questionnaires distributed to secondary school teachers in three districts, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rasuwa in 2018. Of the 1611 teachers, a total of 414 teachers were reached out for the self-administered structured questionnaire. The final sample size was 344 teachers with a response rate of 83.09%. The tool was made inclusive, evaluated for face validity, and maintained confidentiality and anonymity during data collection and presentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and statistical significance was set at p &lt; 0.05. The study found that teachers performed three categories of modeling for students' health: facilitation, nurturance, and unconditional acceptance. Those activities helped teachers understand their students' perspectives and realize their health situation. However, only 6.1% of teachers provided healthy experiences, 11.5% cared for students' health needs, and 34% performed unconditional acceptance. Persuasive techniques like facilitation, nurturance, and unconditional acceptance are crucial for strengthening persuasion and encouraging appropriate behaviors among the students. Authorities should conduct refresher training for teachers to promote these skills, as they are not reflected in real classroom situations. Further research is recommended to understand the causes of this discrepancy.

Abstract:
The retail food environment plays an important role in shaping dietary habits that contribute to obesity and other chronic diseases. Food and beverage manufacturers use trade promotion—incentives paid to retailers—to influence how products are placed, priced, and promoted in stores. This review aims to: (1) catalogue trade promotion practices that manufacturers use to influence retailer marketing strategies, and (2) describe how these retailer marketing strategies affect consumer purchasing behavior and attitudes. Researchers searched five databases, Academic Search Ultimate, Business Source Ultimate, PsycINFO, PubMed, and Web of Science, to identify literature from industry and academic sources published in English through November 2019. Twenty articles describing manufacturer trade promotion practices were synthesized and provided insight into four types of trade promotion practices: category management, slotting allowances, price discounts, and cooperative advertising. Fifty-four articles describing the impact of retailer marketing on consumers were synthesized and graded for quality of evidence. While comparison across studies is challenging, findings suggest that retailer marketing strategies, such as price promotions and prominent placement, lead to increased sales. Results can guide efforts by policymakers, public health practitioners, and food retailers to design retail environments that improve healthy eating while maintaining retailer financial interests. Additional research should measure the impact of retailer marketing strategies on consumer diet quality and retailer outcomes (e.g., return-on-investment).
