International mobility facilitates the exchange of scientific, institutional and cultural knowledge. Yet whether globalization and advances in virtual communication technologies have altered the impact of researcher mobility is a relevant and open question that we address by analysing a broad international set of 26 170 physicists from 1980 to 2009, focusing on the 10-year period centred around each mobility event to assess the impact of mobility on research outcomes. We account for secular globalization trends by splitting the analysis into three periods, measuring for each period the effect

Researcher mobility is an integral part of the way research is conducted and of a researcher’s career. Its effects on collaboration networks, research impact and knowledge flows drive countries and institutions to quantify and understand this activity. The purpose of this study is to test a new researcher mobility model which was developed and prototyped as a customisable research tool to provide a unified perspective on mobility at macro (national), meso (institutional) and micro (individual) levels. Problem setting. The opportunity to move to another country to develop a research career has always attracted scientists. For an individual researcher, international mobility is a chance to improve their skills, work in world-renowned research centers and institutions, be involved in modern research projects, and achieve success in their scientific career. Temporary intellectual migration of scientists is also of great importance for global science, as it helps to eliminate the heterogeneity of the development of scientific fields in different countries and, to some extent, solves the problem

This has led the state to offer cheap credit to prospective farmers with little cap1al of their own. Upward mobility has been possible, but at the same time state support has e

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">The world is on a “take-make-waste,” linear-growth economic trajectory where products are bought, used, and then discarded in direct progression with little to no consideration for recycling or reuse. This unsustainable path now requires an urgent call to action for all sectors in the global society: circularity is a must to restore the health of the planet and people. However, carbon-rich textile waste could potentially become a next-generation feedstock, and the mobility sector has the capacity to mobilize ecologically

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Liquid hydrogen (LH2) is playing a key role in decarbonization of the global energy landscape. Its large-scale continuous use in the space industry provides a foundation for transitioning state-of-the-art capabilities to other sectors. Key advancements in materials, cryogenics, and system optimization are being applied to reduce costs and increase performance for various mobile and stationary use cases. However, some unsettled topics remain to be addressed related to production, liquefaction, storage, distribution, safet

The aim of this paper is to analyse the mobility of researchers from the six Western Balkan Countries, Albania, Bosnia and Herzego-vina, Kosovo*1, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia (abbr. WB6) within structured regional and European mobility programmes. We want to identify geographical patterns with a view on mobility-based training from the WB6 region to the EU, but also within the WB6 region. The following structured regional European programmes provide the basis for this comparative analysis • CEEPUS • ERASMUS + • Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) • COST

Advanced air mobility (AAM) is a nascent market within the aviation sector of Illinois’ transportation system, promising enhanced movement of people and cargo to previously inaccessible or underserved locations. This project addresses AAM’s prospects and impacts in the state. The research encompasses several tasks, starting with an examination of the current and projected state of the AAM industry, including pertinent regulations, technology advancements, and key industry players. Task two involves identifying the potential scale, operational profiles, and safety considerations of AAM within I

Abstract:
This study investigates the effects of COVID-19 induced mobility restrictions and the rise of automation on Perus labor market. The research uncovers a differential decline in employment rates and wages for high-risk workers in paralyzed industries, persisting for 18 months post-pandemic. Occupational mobility emerges as a key factor in the recovery of these workers, underscoring the importance of adaptability in the face of automation.

The Nordic Council of Ministers’ vision is for the Region to be the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. Cross-border labour market mobility in the Nordic Region will play an important role in achieving that goal. In this working paper, we share the latest data on labour market mobility across national borders in the Nordic Region in the form of both migration and commuting. We also present findings from a review of current literature on labour market mobility in the Nordic Region and present an analytical framework for exploring potential improvements to it. The workin
