The potential success of the hotel business in Slovakia has been associated with a relatively high degree of uncertainty over the last two years. Slovak Government Guideline No. 4/DzPaÚ/2019/MÚ on recreation allowances introduced an obligation for larger employers to reimburse employees for part of their recreation expenses from 2019, creating increased demand for Slovak recreational facilities. On the other hand, the same government, through various restrictions issued in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, has caused recreational operators problems during this period, not infrequently eve

The Huntsville 7.5' quadrangle lies within Ogden Valley, a back valley of the Wasatch Range in Weber County, Utah, about 6 miles (10 km) east-northeast of Ogden City. Settled in 1849, Ogden Valley was a pioneer frontier settlement and served primarily as a small farming community until recently. The area is currently characterized by rapid suburban growth. The quadrangle is centered on Ogden Valley with the Wasatch Range on the east and west side of the valley. The Ogden Valley f loor lies at an elevation of about 4900 feet (1494 m) with surrounding mountains reaching elevations of more than 9

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is responsible for stewardship of approximately 12.5 million acres across the United States. USACE’s Environmental Stewardship program mission is to protect, preserve, and restore significant ecological resources on USACE project lands. Since the early 2000s, non-native and invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has killed hundreds of millions of ash trees in the US, becoming the most destructive and costly invasive forest insect in North America. This research effort estimates the cost of managing EAB damage to USACE projects including treatment, removal, or r

Amphibians are a Vital Sign indicator for monitoring long-term ecosystem health in seven national park units that comprise the Great Lakes Network. We present here the results for 2019 amphibian monitoring at Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MISS). Appendices contain tabular summaries for six years of cumulative results. The National Park Service Great Lakes Inventory and Monitoring Network established 10 permanent acoustic amphibian monitoring sites at MISS in 2015. The Mojave desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) inhabits the Mojave and Colorado Deserts in the southwestern United States. The Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) spans the Colorado River corridor in Arizona and Nevada and sits at an ecologically important intersection of the listed and unlisted Mojave tortoise populations. A large portion of the Lake Mead NRA contains suitable desert tortoise habitat, but no contemporary estimates of population densities exist for different areas of the recreation area. Cluster analysis of the efficiency of the recreational forest use of the region by separate components of the recreational forest use potential is provided in the article. The main stages of the cluster analysis of the recreational forest use level based on the predetermined components were determined. Among the agglomerative methods of cluster analysis, intended for grouping and combining the objects of study, it is common to distinguish the three most common types: the hierarchical method or the method of tree clustering; the K-means Clustering Method and the two-step aggregation method.
