Aim. To assess the association of smoking prevention program with children knowledge and attitudes towards smoking as well as with their smoking behavior. Methods. Survey targeted at the 11-15 years old pupils and was carried out in four schools in Latvia and four schools in Liverpool before and after peer-to-peer pilot intervention. 931 questionnaires in Riga and 836 in Liverpool were used for data analysis. SPSS 15.0 for Windows has been utilized for processing the statistical data. The statistical significance of the data in question was tested, by using the chi-square (χ2) and Z criteria.

This research examined the link between family conflict and youth aggression in Latino families. Attitudes toward aggression were tested as a mediator of this link, whereas family constellation variables (cohesion, responsibilities, birth order, and gender) were tested as moderators. This model was tested in a longitudinal community sample of 143 youth (study 1) and in a sample of 35 sibling dyads exposed to domestic violence (study 2). Abstract:
The present qualitative, multiple-case study research (a) explored the relationship processes in youth mentoring relationships with children, mentors, and parents, and (b) explored the perceived impacts of participating in the mentoring relationship on children, mentors, and parents. This study combined the tenets of two current theoretical models of youth mentoring, namely, developmental (Rhodes, 2005) and systemic (Keller, 2005b), in order to obtain a holistic view of mentoring relationships.
