Two continental slivers, those of Pigi and Karathodoro (parts of the Stip-Axios unit) are intercalated among members of the Guevgueli ophiolitic complex. These two slivers are closely related with the Late Jurassic basic and acid (expressed mainly by Fanos granite) magmatism ofthat area. The High Himalayan leucogranites (HHL) are produced by muscovite breakdown of a metapelitic source, at temperatures below 800 °C, with initial melt water contents of ~5–7 wt.%. The Markov Deep (the axial part of the slow-spreading Mid-Atlantic Ridge, 6°N, Sierra Leone oceanic core complex) and the Paleozoic Voikar ophiolite association (Polar Urals) formed in the back-arc sea conditions.
