Abstract:

Zusammenfassung Die optimale epithetische Versorgung von Patienten mit orbitalen Defekten stellt eine Herausforderung dar. Sowohl das Wählen des Implantations-Winkels als auch die Positionierung der Einzelimplantate kann bei inkorrekter Ausführung bei der Abformung, der Herstellung und dem Tragen der Epithese zu Problemen führen. Wir führten eine virtuelle Planung der enossalen Implantation an einem 3D-CT-Datensatz mit der Software CoDiagnostiX ™(DentalWings, Montréal, Kanada) durch. Mittels 3D-Druckverfahren erfolgte die Herstellung einer plastischen-Insertionsschablone (Med-610™, Stratasys, Rehovot, Israel). Bei einem 41-jährigen Patienten wurde bei Schrumpfung des Lidapparates nach Enukleation und Radiatio der linken Orbita vor 20 Jahren, nun eine Exenteratio orbitae durchgeführt. Im Anschluss erfolgte das Einbringen von 4 Vistafix-3 Implantaten (Cochlear™ Centennial, USA) mittels 3D-Schablone. Die Abformung und Epithesenanpassung im Verlauf war problemlos möglich und ergab eine sehr gute funktionelle und ästhetische Rehabilitation des Patienten. Die virtuelle 3D-Planung der knochenverankerten epithetischen Versorgung von Orbitadefekten ist gut durchführbar und führt zu einer optimalen Platzierung der Implantate insbesondere bei posttherapeutisch veränderten anatomischen Verhältnissen der Orbitaregion.

ZusammenfassungMit der vorliegenden Studie wird eine innovative Methode zur Autotransplantation von Zähnen unter Verwendung von 3-dimensionalen (3D) gedruckten chirurgischen Schablonen für eine geführte Aufbereitung des Empfängerbettes und eine akkurate Setzung des Spenderzahnes vorgestellt. Mit der Methode wird eine Autotransplantation von unreifen Prämolaren zur Behandlung eines 11-jährigen Patienten nach schwerem Trauma mit Avulsion von bleibenden Schneidezähnen im Oberkiefer präsentiert. Bei diesem innovativen Ansatz kommen modifizierte Methoden der navigierten Implantationschirurgie mittels Überlagerung von DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) Dateien und 3D Datensätzen der Kiefer zum Einsatz, um so, über einen volldigitalen Workflow entsprechende 3D Schablonen zu erstellen. Die Behandlung des Patienten konnte, mittels Durchführung der im Voraus virtuell geplanten Transplantationen mit geführten Osteotomien zur Vermeidung eines Knochenverlustes und Sicherstellung einer exakten Einbringung der Spenderzähne in die vorgesehenen neuen Positionen erfolgreich abgeschlossen werden.

Zusammenfassung. Computerspiele können eine Bereicherung experimentell-psychologischer Untersuchungen darstellen. Existierende Computerspiele genügen jedoch hinsichtlich der Möglichkeiten zur Datenaufzeichnung und Variation der Spielinhalte oft nicht experimentellen Ansprüchen. Eine Modifikation des Computerspiels Quake III Arena sollte diese Nachteile überwinden. Eine selbst erstellte virtuelle 3D-Umgebung wurde bei einer ersten Erprobung an 85 Proband/inn/en danach beurteilt, ob sie im praktischen Einsatz zuverlässig funktioniert und ob die Proband/inn/en mit unterschiedlich komplexen Anforderungen zurechtkommen. Die Ergebnisse sprechen dafür, dass insbesondere virtuelle 3D-Umgebungen niedriger Komplexität für psychologische Experimente geeignet sind. Damit stellen Modifikationen existierender Computerspiele vielfältige neue Möglichkeiten für die experimentell-psychologische Forschung zur Verfügung.

Abstract:

La connaissance de modèles numériques d'élévation est un élément essentiel pour un grand nombre d'applications de télédétection, notamment à très haute résolution. Cette information d'élévation peut être déduite de couples d'images stéréoscopiques en combinant des techniques photogrammétriques et des techniques de type corrélation. L'amélioration de la résolution des système spatiaux d'observation de la Terre, comme PleiadesHR (pas d'échantillonnage au sol de 70 cm) ainsi que les capacités croissantes d'acquisitions en mode stéréoscopique et multi-stéréoscopique permettent de générer de manière plus systématique des modèles numériques de terrain prenant également en compte le sursol fins (bâtis, véhicules, végétation), avec une précision de restitution de l'ordre du mètre. Une méthode générique de restitution de modèles en « vrai » 3D fortement parallélisable est ici utilisée autorisant le traitement simultané de 2 à N images sur une même zone.

Au cours de cet exposé nous présenterons nos activités de recherche dans plusieurs domaines. Nous commencerons par le domaine de la réalité virtuelle qui correspond à l’interaction avec des univers 3D simulés et restitués en temps réel par des ordinateurs. La réalité virtuelle permet d’envisager des applications nombreuses en médecine tels que les simulateurs chirurgicaux pour s’entraîner sur des patients virtuels ou bien, en psychiatrie, des simulateurs immersifs permettant de traiter des phobies par exposition parfaitement contrôlée des patients. Nous évoquerons ensuite le domaine des interfaces cerveau-ordinateur qui permet d’extraire et d’analyser en temps réel l’activité cérébrale d’un utilisateur équipé d’un casque EEG (électro-encéphalo-graphie) pour pouvoir par exemple piloter des prothèses ou des fauteuils roulants sans activité motrice et uniquement « par la pensée ». Ces technologies peuvent être combinées et viser des applications de Neurofeedback. Ainsi au cours d’un projet récent nous avons participé à l’élaboration d’un simulateur de classe virtuelle dans laquelle des enfants souffrant de troubles attentionnels (ADHD) peuvent être immergés virtuellement et progressivement travailler leurs rythmes cérébraux liés à l’attention et à leur pathologie.

Abstract:

The 3D reconstruction with a metric content of a submerged area, where objects and structures of archaeological interest are found, could play an important role in the research and study activities and even in the digitization of the cultural heritage. The reconstruction of 3D object, of interest for archaeologists, constitutes a starting point in the classification and description of object in digital format and for successive fruition by user after delivering through several media. The starting point is a metric evaluation of the site obtained with photogrammetric surveying and appropriate 3D restitution. The authors have been applying the underwater photogrammetric technique since several years using underwater digital cameras and, in this paper, digital low cost cameras (off-the-shelf). Results of tests made on submerged objects with three cameras are presented: © Canon Power Shot G12, © Intova Sport HD e © GoPro HERO 2. The experimentation had the goal to evaluate the precision in self-calibration procedures, essential for multimedia underwater photogrammetry, and to analyze the quality of 3D restitution. Precisions obtained in the calibration and orientation procedures was assessed by using three cameras, and an homogeneous set control points. Data were processed with © Agisoft Photoscan. Successively, 3D models were created and the comparison of the models derived from the use of different cameras was performed. Different potentialities of the used cameras are reported in the discussion section. The 3D restitution of objects and structures was integrated with sea bottom floor morphology in order to achieve a comprehensive description of the site. A possible methodology of survey and representation of submerged objects is therefore illustrated, considering an automatic and a semi-automatic approach.

Neue 3-dimensionale (3D) unterstützte Techniken erlauben es, das seit Jahrzehnten unveränderte Vorgehen bei Korrekturosteotomie wesentlich zu verbessern sowie komplexe Schnittführungen durchzuführen, die zuvor nur schwierig zu kontrollieren waren. Die Einführung von leicht bedienbarer Software ermöglicht auch Benutzern ohne spezielle Vorkenntnisse CT-Daten am Computer zu segmentieren, 3D Modelle von Knochen herzustellen und diese mit der gespiegelten Gegenseite zu vergleichen. Erst dieses Vorgehen erlaubt eine exakte Fehlstellungsanalyse, das Erstellen eines Operationsplanes und die virtuelle Durchführung der Operation in 3D. Das Herstellen von individualisierten Bohr- und Sägelehren mit dem Laser-Sinterverfahren (3D Drucker), welche in eindeutiger und bestimmter Position auf der jeweiligen Knochenoberfläche angelegt werden können, ermöglicht die exakte Umsetzung der Planung in der Operation. Die Technik soll anhand von Fallbeispielen an Vorderarm und Hand vorgestellt werden.

Abstract:

The latest results obtained through photogrammetric restitution enhanced by GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) survey achieved increased levels of accuracy. These survey solutions are used to rapidly obtain a detailed model with an excellent level of accuracy (centimetric) with cheaper equipment. However, the contour conditions are not always favorable for obtaining the best results in a simple way. The work presented in this paper shows the survey and the photogrammetric restitution of the Manfredonic Castle of Mussomeli in Sicily, developed as a part of the PON NEPTIS European Project, aimed at the valorization of Cultural Heritage (CH). This case is a typical example of a complex survey carried out in an impervious environment where traditional survey procedures are totally useless or require a longer amount of time and great effort if a high level of accuracy is requested. In this case, considering the natural conditions of the site, the only way to perform the task has been the use of photogrammetric restitution based on UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) technologies and GNSS survey. The precision obtained from the results allowed us to create a geometric 3D reconstruction of the monumental complex of the castle for the valorization of the site, which was the main goal of the whole process. The procedure that is the focus of this work is a test of rapid 3D CH survey and documentation in an impervious environment.

Neue Technologien erlauben es, die seit Jahrzehnten unveränderten Arbeitsweisen der Osteotomie wesentlich zu verbessern sowie zuvor kaum durchführbare Schnittführungen zu ermöglichen. Die Einführung von einfach bedienbarer Software zur Verarbeitung von CT-Daten erlaubt es am PC 3D-Modelle von Knochen herzustellen und diese mit dem Spiegelbild der Gegenseite zu vergleichen. Erst dies erlaubt eine exakte Fehlstellungsanalyse, das Erstellen eines Operationsplanes und die virtuelle Durchführung der Operation. Das Herstellen von individualisierten Bohr- und Sägelehren im Laser-Sinterverfahren (3D-Print), die eindeutig auf der jeweiligen Knochenoberfläche positioniert wird, ermöglicht die exakte Umsetzung der Planung während der Operation. Anhand von Fallbeispielen aus der Handchirurgie sollen die neuen und erweiterten Möglichkeiten der heutigen Osteotomie dargelegt werden.

Les codes de représentation pour la 3D utilisée pour les visites virtuelles s’appuient sur ceux de la perspective classique telle que décrite par Brunelleschi. Est-il possible dès lors de concevoir une visite virtuelle en utilisant les codes de la perspective chinoise ? La perspective traditionnelle chinoise organise l’espace selon trois valeurs qui organisent les objets dans l’espace et le temps. La compréhension de ces différences doit permettre de construire un espace de représentation immersif dont l’expérience sera fort différente de celles proposées généralement.

Abstract:

A 3D model of molecular dynamics for nanoceramic SiC is adopted to simulate the hot pressing sintering and preparation process of SiC, and mechanical properties such as density, hardness and elastic modulus are calculated. Finite element model of indentation is established based on the mechanical performance parameters from MD simulation. Conical indenter is adopted in indentation simulation. The FEM simulation results show that: Maximum equivalent stress appears at the place of indenter tip, and equivalent stress curves are appeared hemispherical. As indentation depth increases, the stress increased. As the distance of away from the indenter increases, the displacement in equivalent displacement nephogram gradually decreased until zero. During unloading process, elastic restitution is occurred. The elastic restitution in the area of below the indenter is obviously. Residual stress in the center of indentation is maximal after unloading.

Abstract:

The use of dynamic computational methods has become indispensable for addressing problems related to rockfall hazard. Although a number of models with various degrees of complexity are available, model parameters are rarely calibrated against observations from rockfall experiments. A major difficulty lies in reproducing the apparent randomness of the impact process related to both ground and block irregularities. Calibration of rigorous methods capable of explicitly modeling trajectories and impact physics of irregular blocks is difficult, as parameter spaces become too vast and the quality of model input and observation data are insufficient. The model presented here returns to the simple “lumped-mass” approach and simulates the characteristic randomness of rockfall impact as a stochastic process. Despite similarities to existing approaches, the model presented here incorporates several novel concepts: (i) ground roughness and particle roughness are represented as a random change of slope angle at impact; (ii) lateral deviations of rebound direction from the trajectory plane at impact are similarly accounted for by perturbing the ground orientation laterally, thus inducing scatter of run-out directions; and (iii) a hyperbolic relationship connects restitution factors to impact deformation energy. With these features, the model is capable of realistically accounting for the influence of particle mass on dynamic behaviour. The model only requires four input parameters, rendering it flexible for calibration against observed datasets. In this study, we calibrate the model against observations from the rockfall test site at Vaujany in France. The model is able to reproduce observed distributions of velocity, jump heights, and runout at observation points. In addition, the spatial distribution of the trajectories and landing points has been successfully simulated. Different parameter sets have been used for different ground materials such as an avalanche channel, a forest road, and a talus cone. Further calibration of the new model against a range of field datasets is essential. This study is part of an extensive calibration program that is still in progress at this first presentation of the method, and focuses on fine-tuning the details of the stochastic process implemented both in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) versions of the model.

Le développement d’un système d’informations géografiques (SIG) tridimensionnel a besoin d’importer des éléments solides créés en trois dimensions. L’acquisition de ces éléments est généralement effectuée au moyen d’un LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging). Une autre possibilité est la cartographie des façades de bâtiments, qui en règle générale est réalisée par la prise d'images géocodées au moyen d’un GPS et d’un système inertiel. Ensuite, un laborieux travail d'édition graphique doit être effectué. Evidemment, si le niveau de détail de la représentation des éléments est plus grand, le temps et le coût de l'acquisition de données 3D seront aussi très grands. Cette forme de développement d'unprojet de SIG 3D pour les applications comme la distribution d'énergie électrique est encore peu viable pour la réalité brésilienne en raison des coûts élevés d'acquisition 3D. Ainsi, pour rendre viable l'utilisation de ces outils dans un environnement SIG 3D dans une entreprise d'énergie électrique nationale, nous avons développé une méthodologiealternative à bas coût qui sera présentée dans ce travail. L'alternative est l'utilisation de la restitution photogrammétrique et l'utilisation des données suivantes : des photographies aériennes d’archive à l'échelle 1:8.000; une base cartographique plani-altimétrique permettant l’orientation externe d’images à l'échelle 1:2.000 pour l’obtention du modèle stéréoscopique et la restitution des éléments importants; une image multispectrale à haute résolution du satellite Quick BIRD, utilisée comme toile de fond et pour la texturation du modèle numérique du terrain. Le développement du projet a nécessité l’utilisation de logiciels et bibliothèques Opensource comme l'ensemble VTP (Virtual Terrain Project), qui inclut OGR, GDAL, vtdata et vtlib compatibles avec MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class), GDI+ (Graphics Device Interface Plus) ainsi que la base de données PostgreSQL. La modélisation des données a été réalisée de manière à simplifier l'acquisition des données tridimensionnelles et donc, réduire les coûts, dans le but d’appliquer le SIG 3D aux réseaux dedistribution d'énergie électrique. Des analyses de qualité du positionnement relatif ont ensuite réalisée, les résultats sontprésentés dans cet article.

Dans le contexte de l’apparition d’environnements virtuels et de la place centrale de la résolution de problèmes, nous étudions la manipulation virtuelle, dans la résolution de problèmes ouverts de mathématiques, dans l’environnement ANIPPO, par des élèves de la fin de l’école primaire. La méthodologie permet de comparer un groupe expérimental dans l’environnement ANIPPO avec un groupe de contrôle dans l’environnement traditionnel. Nous décrivons le cadre théorique des problèmes ouverts, des registres de représentations sémiotiques, de la collaboration et de la motivation. Nous précisons comment les résultats de la pré-expérimentation montrent les difficultés des apprentissages dans un environnement virtuel a-didactique et influencent les conditions de l’expérimentation à venir, pour l’appropriation de l’environnement ANIPPO, la prise en compte des procédures des élèves et la progressivité des problèmes à résoudre.

Abstract. This paper is a review of the modelling of two edifices located in a city which developed on the vestiges of a Roman city during antiquity endowed in the 4th century with a military camp. The term castellum is used for the first structure. A second structure concerns the remains of a castle dismantled at the end of the 17th century, which was generally known only by an engraving in perspective made shortly before its demolition, and the cadastral matrix that had preserved the traces of its right-of-way. It is a Renaissance castle built in the 16th century by the Württemberg family in the northeast corner of the ruins of the castellum. The projects contain a first part of data analysis and interpretation based on available documents. Similar sites close in terms of architecture, geographical location and construction period were also visited to get inspiration from them and to be able to make proposals for restitution. Despite the lack of data available, the multidisciplinary aspect of these projects is very important. In fact, the experience of archaeologists and the monitoring of modelling throughout its progress is essential to work out models that are both justifiable, at the level of the proposals made and sufficiently complete to be able to be highlighted. Once the models validated, they are integrated in a virtual way into the contemporary urban environment, through an interactive virtual tour. This paper reviews the principles implemented during the modelling, the rendering and the valorisation of the models thru virtual tours and AR/VR implementation.

The objective that drives this research is given by a multitude of information which, in addition to the contribution of technology, allows us to study, analyze, verify and remodel the sites, monuments and evolutions of the city through graphic processes of perspective restitution that start from the analysis of historical photos. The drawing methods, the digital graphic rendering and through the aid of geometric techniques, contribute to the reconstruction of projects and architectures that are now lost, this is possible thanks to the methods of perspective, axonometry and three-dimensional restitution.This remarkable photographic heritage belonging to Palermo, but also to any other city in the world that is sometimes not even considered in the least or that is even forgotten in archives today finds new life thanks to the perspective restitution. Shooting and photographic images following particular studies, allow us to precisely establish the observation points and the dimensions of architectures that have now disappeared, giving them new life through the transposition and reconstruction of the same within a “memory archive three-dimensional”.In order to describe the transformations of the city, both urban and architectural, we have taken as a case study an architecture that has now been lost in the city of Palermo: villa Rutelli. It was a neo-Gothic villa, built in the first twenty years of the twentieth century on the axis of Via Libertà and demolished in the 1960s along with other buildings of the Palermitan Liberty during the years of the infamous "sack of Palermo". Through the iconographic and archival research at the CRICD and the Bronzetti fund (photographer) and with the aid of research and cataloging studies, illustrative material emerged which was useful for reworking the particularities of the model through the perspective restitution.

The rock fall trajectory and its mechanisms are the most difficult to predict, owing to the complexity of the slope and the Irregular shape of falling rocks. To acquire a better knowledge of the rock fall mechanism of platy rock and to investigate the influence of various impact parameters, a comprehensive physical model experimental study was undertaken based on 3D printing technology using a high-speed camera and specially developed block release system. Based on the experimental results, the effects of the slope angle on the stopping position, the instantaneous kinetic energy and collision position of platy rock block were analyzed. Meanwhile, the effects of movement forms of platy rock before and after collision on the normal coefficient of restitution and the tangent coefficient of restitution were discussed. It is observed that rock fall trajectory depends not only on slope material characteristics, slope angle but also on factors related to the platy block (weight, size and shape). The experimental results showed the value of restitution coefficient exceeding 1 has an important relation with the combination of various movement forms (including the flip motion) and the change of movement forms of platy rock before and after the collision. A new feasible experimental method for research and prevention of rock fall disaster was put forward. It would be important and helpful to the geo-hazard control work.
