Abstract:
Revalidation, as a government-led healthcare professional regulatory reform process, marks the largest and potentially the most significant development in the history of healthcare professional regulation within the United Kingdom (UK) National Health Service (NHS). Revalidation, as an emergent regulatory reform, is a professionalisation dilemma for healthcare professionals as it would appear to be diametrically opposed to the notion of professional autonomy and selfregulation; the theorised core characteristics of health professionalism (Dixon-Woods et al., 2011; Freidson, 1970a). Abstract:
The research in this thesis addresses the subject of regression testing. Emphasis is placed on developing a technique for selective revalidation which can be used during software maintenance to analyse and retest only those parts of the program affected by changes. In response to proposed program modifications, the technique assists the maintenance programmer in assessing the extent of the program alterations, in selecting a representative set of test cases to rerun, and in identifying any test cases in the test suite which are no longer required because of the program changes. Abstract:
This paper explores how informal learning can be assessed in the work environment which bears difficulties, as informal learning is largely invisible and people lack awareness of informal learning. We perform an exploratory case study involving 24 healthcare professionals representing small and medium sized enterprises (SME) in six healthcare networks in the UK. We use the existing revalidation procedure as implemented by the National Health Service (NHS) England to discuss our results. Our results comprise a description of six indicators, three of which can be used to assess informal learning

The Colorado Learning Attitudes about Science Survey (CLASS) has been widely used to measure students’ attitudes and beliefs about learning physics. This usage is paired with the assumption that the eight factors determined by the developers underlie students’ attitudes and beliefs about physics in all populations. Confirmatory factor analysis did not support the existence of these eight factors amongst students enrolled in introductory physics courses at a large research university in Western Canada. Thus, to understand the factors that underlie students’ attitudes and beliefs about physics a

This thesis investigates a perceived gap between the medical profession’s rhetoric that the welfare of the patient is the medical practitioner’s first priority, and the reality of patient experience. The Medical Board of Australia’s Good Medical Practice: A Code of Conduct for Doctors in Australia mandates the duty of medical practitioners to make the care of their patients their first priority. This code also confirms that good medical practice is patient-centred. Patient-centred care should therefore be central to patient experience. Howe

African curricular reforms indicate major inherent structural defects because only the contents of the curriculum were changed. As a result, the Western cultural influences embedded in the curriculum foundations are transmitted to the students, causing the curricular material to be irrelevant and unrelated to their culture and philosophy. The focus of this study was on making the basic education curricula relevant to the socio-cultural and structural context of the Gamo ethnic group of Ethiopia.
