Abstract This 138-paged book highlights the opportunity for the inclusion of insects into animal feed for livestock, pets, aquaculture and exotics. It also details the challenges which still need to be overcome to enable the global establishment of insect farming as a profitable and sustainable source of feed ingredients. Abstract:
This chapter examines a broad range of opportunities for addressing the pressing human development needs of low-income countries by using new oil, gas, and mineral discoveries. It assesses how much of an impact can be made on the funding gaps for health and education by new oil and gas revenues, and what other uses of those revenues are likely to arise. The chapter argues that there is a strong case for investing natural resources revenues in social sectors, as they provide an opportunity to help to close the financing gaps in the African countries examined. However, the chapter also highlight

During recessions state government fiscal crises are widespread, as states find their revenues inadequate to meet their expenditure demands. This volume shows that state fiscal crises have only one significant cause: revenue downturns associated with recessions. Other analysts have argued that fiscal crises are the result of an interaction of many complex causes, including inadequate tax bases, increasing expenditure demands, and limits placed on state governments by voters. This analysis examines these other factors and shows that while they present significant challenges to state policymaker

When Goddard Lieberson assumed the role of executive vice president at Columbia Records in the mid-1940s, he established the greatest powerhouse for the recording of Broadway material in the twentieth century. Lieberson produced studio versions of unrecorded Broadway classics; acquired and produced some of the biggest hit albums of the 1950s and 60s; and oversaw a battalion of single releases of Broadway material for the pop charts. He also masterminded the initiatives of the Columbia Record Club and the advent of stereo, both of which enabled additional revenue streams for Broadway material.

Abstract:
Illicit financial flows constitute a global phenomenon of massive but uncertain scale, which erodes government revenues and drives corruption in countries rich and poor. In 2015, the countries of the world committed to a target to reduce illicit flows, as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. But five years later, there is still no agreement on how that target should be monitored—to say nothing of how it will be achieved. The term ‘illicit financial flows’ covers a range of corrupt practices, aimed at obtaining immunity or impunity from criminal law, from market regulation and from tax

Electing to enter private practice as a clinical child psychologist poses a variety of unique challenges. Private practice clinicians (PPCs) are mental health care providers as well as small business owners and must thus cultivate success in both roles in order to remain relevant. In a saturated marketplace, PPCs must distinguish themselves. Clinically, PPCs who deliver evidence-based care and who monitor progress with clear, objective measures are able to gain a competitive marketplace edge. Labor relations are a paramount consideration in crop agriculture, a labor-intensive industry that is dependent on land. The U.S. government has long regulated the supply of foreign farm labor on behalf of agribusiness, and that role became more critical as the industry restructured itself in the competitive neoliberal climate since the early 1990s. The H2A program, which permits quasi-private labor brokers to import Mexican “guest workers” for seasonal work on U.S. farms, expanded after 1990 into states in the mid-South, which was also experiencing new flows of undocumented immigrants.
