Postlaminectomy syndrome is persistent or recurrent back pain after otherwise anatomically successful lumbar spine surgery. A dramatic increase in the number of low back surgeries has been observed since 1997, with an increased incidence of pain after low back surgery in the range of 5% to 74.6%.
