Abstract:

Five novel compounds were synthesized and characterized. Crystal structures were determined using Rigaku Mercury 375/MCCD(XtaLAB mini) diffractometer with graphite monochromated MoKα radiation. The crystal structures of [Rh2(NPhCOCH3)4•xNCC6H4R where x = 1 or 2 and R=H, 2-CH3,3-CH3 and 4-CH3 were solved to an R1 value of less than 5 (R1= Σ||Fo| - |Fc|| / Σ |Fo|). In each of the nitrile complexes, the rhodium is five or six coordinate and possesses pseudo D4h symmetry. The complexes were also characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy. The rhodium carboxamide [Rh2(NPhCOCH3)4]L (L=axial ligand), has applications as a catalyst for carbenoid transformations. To explore the nature of the rhodium-carbene bond, studies between Rh2(NPhCOCH3)4 and nitriles were proposed. Trials of the benzonitrile, o-tolunitrile, and m-tolunitrile have been performed and characterized on the 2,2-trans [Rh2(NPhCOCH3)4] complex via NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography.

Complexes of 2,2-cis [Rh2(N{C6H5}COCH3)4] bound to benzonitrile, ortho-tolunitrile, and meta-tolunitrile were synthesized and characterized using X-ray crystallography, IR spectroscopy, and proton NMR. The crystal structures of 2,2-cis [Rh2(N{C6H5}COCH3)4]•2NCC6H5, 2,2-cis [Rh2(N{C6H5}COCH3)4]•2NC{2-CH3}C6H4, and 2,2-cis [Rh2(N{C6H5}COCH3)4]•2NC{3-CH3}C6H4 were solved using a Rigaku Mercury375R/M CCD XtaLab Mini Diffractometer. The 2,2-cis [Rh2(N{C6H5}COCH3)4]•2NCC6H5 complex had unit cell dimensions of a=10.2115(7) Å, b=9.9667(7) Å, c=21.367(2) Å, and β=100.971(7)° with a P21/n space group.

In this work we are going to investigate a factorization method that was invented by John Pollard. It makes possible to factorize medium large integers into a product of prime numbers. We will run a C++ program and test how do different parameters affect the results. There will be a connection drawn between the Pollard's rho method, the Birthday paradox and the Floyd's cycle finding algorithm. In results we will find a polynomial function that has the best effectiveness and performance for Pollard's rho method.

These structures can be easily visualized in living cells by utilizing the fluorescent stain PicoGreen®. Enligt Hälso- och sjukvårdslagens ska behandling systematiskt utvecklas och säkras (HSL, SFS 1982:763). Logopedisk röstbehandling är inte ett undantag. I ett samverkansprojekt mellan Linköpings Universitet och sydöstra sjukvårdsregionen deltog sex logopedmottagningar genom att låta patienter som erhöll röstbehandling att fylla i självskattningsformuläret Rösthandikappindex, RHI, vid behandlingsstart och behandlingsslut. Endothelin-1 (ET-1) promotes changes in gene/protein expression in cardiomyocytes leading to hypertrophy. This results from activation of intracellular signalling pathways including small G proteins that activate protein kinases. This project improved the detection and classification of very weakly expressed RhD variants in the Australian blood donor panel and contributed to the knowledge of anti-D reactivity patterns of RHD alleles that are undescribed. As such, the management of donations possessing these RHD alleles can be improved upon and the overall safety of transfusion medicine pertaining to the Rh blood group system will be increased.
