Abstract:
Current Web 2.0 applications, either social sites or Rich Internet Applications, share several problems of interoperability when interconnecting different systems. It is therefore complicated to reuse (or export) the information between sources. In this context, where the value belongs to the data, not the application, the use of Semantic Web technologies opens a way of resolution with mature and standard technologies, thus leading to the Web 3.0. This paper presents the application of Sm4RIA (Semantic Models for RIA), a model-driven design methodology that facilitates the development of semantic RIAs (SRIA), to the design of social network sites. The SRIA approach introduced herein combines the main advantages present in each of the current trends on the Web. In addition to these benefits, the application of a model-driven methodology can speed up the development process and simplify the reuse of external sources of knowledge.

Abstract:
This paper details a way to extend classic information architecture for web-based applications. The goal is to enhance traditional user experiences, mainly based on navigation or search, to new ones (also relevant for stakeholders’ requirements). Examples are sense making, at a glance understanding, playful exploration, serendipitous browsing, and brand communication. These new experiences are often unmet by current information architecture solutions, which may be stiff and difficult to scale, especially in the case of large or very large websites. A heavy reliance upon search engines seems not to offer a viable solution: it supports, in fact, a limited range of user experiences. We propose to transform (parts of) websites into Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), based, beside other features, upon interaction-rich interfaces and semantic browsing across content. We introduce SEE-IA (SEarch-Enhanced Information Architecture), a coherent set of information architecture design strategies, which innovatively blend and extend IA and search paradigms. The key ingredients of SEE-IA are a seamless combination of structured hypertext-based information architectures, faceted search paradigms, and RIA-enabled visualization techniques. The paper elucidates and codifies these design strategies and their underlying principles, identifying also how they support a set of requirements which are often neglected by most current design approaches. A real case study of a complex RIA designed for a major institutional client in Italy is used to vividly showcase the design strategies and to provide ready-to-use examples that can be transferred to other IA contexts and domains

Now for orthodontists there are no commercial orthodontic EMR systems suitable for their clinical needs in China, so we study orthodontist’s daily workflow, analyze the requirements, and finally develop the orthodontic EMR Cloud for Peking University School of Stomatology. We propose and adopt 2-Tier Cloud-ARchitecture (2TCAR), which contains rich client tier based on Rich Internet Application (RIA) and server-side Cloud tier based on SimpleDB, to develop the orthodontist’s EMR Cloud for orthodontics according to orthodontist’s workflow. In the 2TCAR the rich client tier is maximized to implement almost all functionalities of user interfaces and transaction logic in the EMR. Functionalities in server-side Cloud tier are simplified only to implement data storage and query. Communication between the two Cloud tiers is also simplified via REST. In the article we research corresponding technologies such as Cloud computing, REST, Flex in RIA and SimpleDB Cloud. Further, in the orthodontic EMR Cloud we use Flex to implement UI presentation & interaction, transaction logic, and REST requests & responses in rich client tier; then design SimpleDB Cloud in server-side Cloud tier, and communication between two tiers via REST. And the EMR Cloud is integrated with existing Resister, Ward and Drugstore information systems. Flash and Ajax are currently two popular Rich Internet Application (RIA) technologies, integrating Flash and Ajax will further enhance Internet users’ experiences. To communicate Flash written in ActionScript with Ajax written in JavaScript, the first step is to embed Flash content into a web page. Two methods can be used: markup-based Flash embedding methods and JavaScript-based Flash embedding methods. However, the drawbacks of markup-based Flash embedding methods make JavaScript-based Flash embedding methods a better solution. To automatically convert markup-based Flash embedding methods into a JavaScript-based method, this paper presents a refactoring tool, called FlashembedRT, to assist programmers with the transformation. This tool refactors the five different markup-based Flash embedding methods to the JavaScript-based Flash embedding method called flashembed.

Abstract:
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of vulnerabilities, methods, tools and problems faced by web application security testing. The analysis of scientific research in the field of web application security testing revealed a significant interest of scientists in finding effective ways to minimize site security risks and vulnerabilities. It was found out that the list of the most common web application vulnerabilities includes: broken access control, cryptographic failures, misconfiguration of security, SQL and other injections, insecure design, identification and authentication errors, etc. Specific features of the security vulnerabilities of web applications are highlighted. The problems faced by automated tools for web security testing are separately considered, namely the development of automated tools for web security testing, the use of RIA (Rich Internet Application) web applications, and the use of insecure cryptographic storage. Web application security risks can be associated with the design phase, the development phase, the deployment phase, and the maintenance phase. It is security testing that is used to identify these risks of the web application, to investigate the vulnerabilities and weak points of the web application. The conducted analysis of security vulnerabilities, methods and problems of testing web applications revealed the presence of different approaches to protect software products. A combination of manual and automated web application security testing techniques is advisable, starting with automated security testing and complementing it with manual penetration testing. A comprehensive approach should integrate testing into all stages of the software development life cycle. Such approach helps to use the most appropriate and effective available methods for the current phase of software product development.

Abstract:
Efficient online discovering and applying geospatial information resources (GIRs) is critical in Earth Science domain as while for cross-disciplinary applications. However, to achieve it is challenging due to the heterogeneity, complexity and privacy of online GIRs. In this article, GeoSquare, a collaborative online geospatial information sharing and geoprocessing platform, was developed to tackle this problem. Specifically, (1) GIRs registration and multi-view query functions allow users to publish and discover GIRs more effectively. (2) Online geoprocessing and real-time execution status checking help users process data and conduct analysis without pre-installation of cumbersome professional tools on their own machines. (3) A service chain orchestration function enables domain experts to contribute and share their domain knowledge with community members through workflow modeling. (4) User inventory management allows registered users to collect and manage their own GIRs, monitor their execution status, and track their own geoprocessing histories. Besides, to enhance the flexibility and capacity of GeoSquare, distributed storage and cloud computing technologies are employed. To support interactive teaching and training, GeoSquare adopts the rich internet application (RIA) technology to create user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Results show that GeoSquare can integrate and foster collaboration between dispersed GIRs, computing resources and people. Subsequently, educators and researchers can share and exchange resources in an efficient and harmonious way.

Abstract:
In China, there is a large amount of data about agricultural products price released by thousands of agricultural websites on the Internet. These records are basically displayed in the form of text, table, and statistics chart but location information cannot be displayed graphically. Rich client and WebGIS techniques can improve representation of agricultural products price and help to provide effective technological solutions for increasing data. First, we describe the methods of standardizing agricultural products price data, which is crawled from agricultural websites through vertical search engine. Forward maximum matching algorithm is then explained and applied for spatializing data. After that, technologies of WebGIS based on rich client (JavaScript/Ajax and Flex) are summarized and analyzed and the map visualization methods of agricultural products price are presented, taking Baidu Map API and ArcGIS API for Flex for example. The methods can provide visual, interactive, user-friendly representation of agricultural products price data in geography information system as well as share visualization services through Internet or Intranet to improve data exchange and utilization. Compared to traditional WebGIS, WebGIS based on RIA improves user satisfaction and increases response speed. The results demonstrate that WebGIS by using RIA technology is a feasible solution method for map visualization of agricultural products price.

Abstract:
The Internet of Things (IoT) can easily connect real-life objects or physical things to the internet, thus having applications in different domains. Healthcare is one of the prominent application areas. The proposed work aims to design and development of a smart medical box for visually impaired people using IoT and computer vision methods. This application comprises of two modules: first, the QR code scanning module in the mobile app scans the QR code applied to the medicine strip by a pharmacist, it reads the entire medicine information and sets the voice alarms according to a medicine dosage schedule. The second module comprises of the medicine box, an ultrasonic sensor, and an alarm sensor connected to an Arduino microcontroller. When the user cannot find the medicine box, he presses the "locate me" button in the mobile app, and the alarm starts ringing, enabling the user to easily locate the medicine box in the indoor environment on a sound basis. On detection of an object close to the medicine box by an ultrasonic sensor the alarm stops ringing, and that will be the actual location of the medicine box. The experimental analysis of the system with 30 real-time beneficiaries, produces 86.33% accuracy in finding the location of SmartMedBox.

Abstract:
For content-based indexing and retrieval applications, text characters embedded in images are a rich source of information. Owing to their different shapes, grayscale values, and dynamic backgrounds, these text characters in scene images are difficult to detect and classify. The complexity increases when the text involved is a vernacular language like Kannada. Despite advances in deep learning neural networks (DLNN), there is a dearth of fast and effective models to classify scene text images and the availability of a large-scale Kannada scene character dataset to train them. In this paper, two key contributions are proposed, AksharaNet, a graphical processing unit (GPU) accelerated modified convolution neural network architecture consisting of linearly inverted depth-wise separable convolutions and a Kannada Scene Individual Character (KSIC) dataset which is grounds-up curated consisting of 46,800 images. From results it is observed AksharaNet outperforms four other well-established models by 1.5% on CPU and 1.9% on GPU. The result can be directly attributed to the quality of the developed KSIC dataset. Early stopping decisions at 25% and 50% epoch with good and bad accuracies for complex and light models are discussed. Also, useful findings concerning learning rate drop factor and its ideal application period for application are enumerated.

Abstract:
With the proliferation of the Internet and smart mobile terminals, great progress has been made in the precision placement and benefit-sharing mechanism of commercial advertisements. Meanwhile, media marketing has become increasingly in-depth and precise. So far, mature theories have been proposed on consumer value and precision marketing. But further research is needed to mine the value from the big data on commercial precision marketing. To improve the accuracy of commercial precision marketing, this paper presents an evaluation index system (EIS) for commercial precision marketing based on improved attention-interest-desire-memory-action (ADIMA) model, and determines the principal evaluation indices through principal component analysis (PCA). Next, an artificial neural network (ANN) was established to evaluate commercial precision marketing, and optimized through k-means clustering (KMC). Finally, the optimized model was realized on MATLAB. The proposed EIS and ANN were proved scientific and effectiveness through simulations. The research results provide a reference for the application of the ANN in other fields of marketing.

The design of the Work Visit E-Book Information System is the design of an application to obtain data on employees of central agency staff who visit branch agencies. Currently, there are still many agencies that still use conventional processes to record data in work visit books. At the same time, in today's digital age, Information technology plays an important role for every company to facilitate work. Victoria Busana Store is a company that is under the auspices of Ria Busana Group managed by PT. Ria Indah Mandiri, Victoria Busana Ciledug first time open on April 03, 2021, this store has 4 floors plus a basement led by 1 Coordinator Store Manager and 2 Supervisors, and has good internet facilities for its employees. Data entry activities for work visits by central staff in Victoria Busana Store still using the work visit book and recorded manually. The weakness of this manual system is that it takes a lot of time to find information and make reports in the administration section, which slows down the work process and lacks time efficiency. Therefore, with this application, it does not require a storage space for work visit book archives and also no budget is needed for the procurement of work visit books. Therefore, through the Job Training program, as a form of higher education tri dharma, Pamulang University provides a Working Visit E-Book Information System Application to Victoria Busana Ciledug Store to apply there. So it is very helpful for store administration staff and also makes it easier to fill in work visit data for staff who visit the store, simply by opening a browser and being flexible.

Abstract:
In modern wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) the demand for advanced process control is a prerequisite for a smooth and energy efficient operation of the plant. Most large WWTPs have distributed control systems (DCS) and advanced supervisory control and data acquisition systems installed for operation and supervision of the plant. Normally the DCS is sufficient for the operators to run the plant efficiently. However, data is also often wanted by others than the operators (e.g. research engineers, students, scientists or consultants) for analysis and reporting or to perform different calculations. At Käppala a new web based program, aCurve, has been developed to meet such needs. The program is a so-called Rich Internet Application and is accessible via internet and requires no desktop installation. The main features of the program are rapid presentation of graphs, easy zoom, changing resolution, performing calculations and plotting the results and simple statistics (e.g. mean values, integration, maximum and minimum values). If advanced calculations are acquired, the data is easily exported as an xlsx-file for use in Microsoft Excel or other software capable of reading the Office Open XML SpreadsheetML File format. aCurve can also produce automatically updated reports that are built in Microsoft Excel. This makes the reporting function flexible and any user with Excel knowledge can create and edit a report with a professional result. The reports can easily be shared throughout the organization. The program has replaced other expensive and complex desktop application that were previously used at the Käppala WWTP. Process and laboratory data that can be used for follow up of plant performance has now become available for a greater part of the staff which improve the quality assurance of reported data to authorities and researchers.
