Abstract:
We often have to face the fact that several signals are mixed together in unknown environment. The signals must be first extracted from the mixture in order to interpret them correctly. This problem is in signal processing society called blind source separation. This dissertation thesis deals with multi-channel separation of audio signals in real environment, when the source signals outnumber the sensors. An introduction to blind source separation is presented in the first part of the thesis. The present state of separation methods is then analyzed. Based on this knowledge, the separation systems implementing fuzzy time-frequency mask are introduced. However these methods are still introducing nonlinear changes in the signal spectra, which can yield in musical noise. In order to reduce musical noise, novel methods combining time-frequency binary masking and beamforming are introduced. The new separation system performs linear spatial filtering even if the source signals outnumber the sensors. Finally, the separation systems are evaluated by objective and subjective tests in the last part of the thesis.

Abstract:
This thesis deals with the nuclear magnetic resonance field, especially spectroscopy and spectroscopy imaging, sparse signal representation and low-rank approximation approaches. Spectroscopy imaging methods are becoming very popular in clinical praxis, however, long measurement times and low resolution prevent them from their spreading. The goal of this thesis is to improve state of the art methods by using sparse signal representation and low-rank approximation approaches. The compressed sensing technique is demonstrated on the examples of magnetic resonance imaging speedup and hyperspectral imaging data saving. Then, a new spectroscopy imaging scheme based on compressed sensing is proposed. The thesis deals also with the in vivo spectrum quantitation problem by designing the MRSMP algorithm specifically for this purpose.

Abstract:
This master’s thesis deals with the restoration of clipped multichannel audio signals based on sparse representations. First, a general theory of clipping and theory of sparse representations of audio signals is described. A short overview of existing restoration methods is part of this thesis as well. Subsequently, two declipping algorithms are introduced and are also implemented in the Matlab environment as a part of the thesis. The first one, SPADE, is considered a state- of-the-art method for mono audio signals declipping and the second one, CASCADE, which is derived from SPADE, is designed for the restoration of multichannel signals. In the last part of the thesis, both algorithms are tested and the results are compared using the objective measures SDR and PEAQ, and also using the subjective listening test MUSHRA.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This Master's Thesis deals with the issue of audio clipping and the application of sparse represenations model for the task of declipping. First, a general theory of clipping is described, followed by a brief overview of existing methods and a description of the general theory concerning sparse representations of signals and bases, respectively frames. Subsequently, two methods solving declipping problem based on sparse representations are intruduced. The first method uses the Generic proximal algorithm for convex optimization, the second one uses the Douglas-Rachford algorithm. The above mentioned methods have been programmed in the Matlab environment. The results of the declipping methods are evaluated according to SNR, PEMO-Q and also by subjective listening tests.

Abstract:
The master's thesis deals with the restoration of audio signals that have been damaged by clipping. Used methods are based on sparse representations of signals. The introduction of the thesis explains the issue of clipping and mentions the list of already existing methods that solve declipping, which are followed by the thesis. In the next chapter, the necessary theory of sparse representations and the proximal algorithms is described, including specific representatives from the category of convex optimization problems. The thesis contains declipping algorithm implemented in Matlab software environment. Chosen method for solving the task uses the Condat algorithm or Generic proximal algorithm for convex optimization and solves minimization of sum of three convex functions. The result of the thesis is five versions of algorithm and three of them have implemented psychoacoustic model for results improvement. For each version has been found optimal setting of parameters. The restoration quality results are evaluated using objective measurements like SDR and PEMO-Q and also using subjective listening test.

Abstract:
The JPEG codec is currently the most widely used image format. This work deals with the design and implementation of an alternative JPEG codec using proximal algorithms in combination with the fixation of points from the original image to suppression of artifacts created in common JPEG coding. To solve the problem, the prox_TV and then the Douglas-Rachford algorithm were used, for which special functions using l_1-norm for image reconstruction were derived. The results of the proposed solution are very good because they can effectively suppress the artefacts created and the result corresponds to the image with a higher set qualitative factor. The proposed method achieves very good results for both simple images and photos, but in the case of large images (1024 × 1024 px) and larger, a large amount of computing time is required, so the method is more suitable for smaller images.

Abstract:
The thesis deals with modern methods of audio denoising. Reconstruction of the audiosignal is primarly based on utilization of phase information of signals and phase derivatives. Denoising methods also use sparse signal representations. In thesis is described the way of searching sparse coefficients using proximal Condat algorithm and following computation of reconstructed signal using this coefficients. The reconstruction algorithms are implemented in the MATLAB software with toolbox LTFAT included. Results of the reconstruction are compared using objective evaluation method Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and also by subjective evaluation.
