O presente trabalho tem por objetivo desenvolver uma proposta de ensino em matemática para alunos do ensino médio. O conteúdo abordado na proposta são gráficos de funções, em especial, o gráfico da função quadrática: a parábola. A necessidade de um maior rigor matemático na explicação da justificativa do gráfico da função quadrática ser uma parábola fez com que desenvolvêssemos uma proposta de roteiro de aula com explicações e definições matemáticas mais rigorosas em relação as que são apresentadas atualmente nos livros didáticos. Utilizamos de cálculos algébricos para as demonstrações e também fizemos uso de um material prático, um quadro branco onde nele temos acoplado um esquadro, e com uso de pinos, barbante e pincel para quadro branco conseguimos traçar a parábola levando em conta sua propriedade. O material prático auxilia na explicação bem como exemplifica visualmente o que queremos mostrar com os cálculos algébricos. A proposta foi apresentada aos alunos de duas escolas, uma pública estadual e outra privada, que leciono no município de Viçosa - MG e também foi apresentada a seis professores de matemática, colegas de trabalho, sendo cinco destes professores de escolas públicas estaduais, municipais e privadas do município de Viçosa - MG e um professor de escola pública estadual do município de Teixeiras - MG.
The present work aims to develop a teaching proposal in mathematics for high school students. The content addressed in the proposal are graphs of functions, especially the graph of the quadratic function: the parabola. The need for greater mathematical rigor in explaining the justification of the quadratic function graph to be a parable has led us to develop a lesson plan proposal with more rigorous mathematical explanations and definitions than are currently presented in textbooks. We used algebraic calculations for the demonstrations and also made use of a practical material, a white board where we have attached a square, and with the use of pins, string and whiteboard brush we can draw the parable taking into account its property. The practical material helps in the explanation as well as visually exemplifies what we want to show with the algebraic calculations. The proposal was presented to the students of two schools, one state public and the other private, which I teach in the city of Viçosa - MG and was also presented to six mathematics teachers, co-workers, five of these teachers from state, municipal and state public schools. private schools of the municipality of Viçosa - MG and a teacher of a state public school in the municipality of Teixeiras - MG.

Resumo: O desenvolvimento baseado em componente (DBC) pennite que uma aplicação seja construída pela composição de componentes de software que já foram previamente especificados, construídos e testados, resultando em ganhos de produtividade e qualidade no software produzido. Para haver reuso de componentes, é necessário que usuários consIgam procurar e recuperar componentes previamente especificados ou implementados Um repositório de componentes é essencial para possibilitar tal reuso. Interoperabilidade é um requisito importante para repositórios, mas nem todas as ferramentas a tratam com a devida relevância. O modelo de metadados de um repositório para DBC deve contemplar características de componentes, tais como interface e separação entre especificação e implementação. Este trabalho apresentou o Rigel, um repositório de bens de software reutilizáveis com suporte para desenvolvimento baseado em componentes. O Rigel apresenta características que facilitam atividades executadas durante o desenvolvimento de sistemas baseados em componentes, tais como pesquisa, armazenamento e recuperação de bens e integração com CVS. O padrão RAS foi adotado como o fonnato de metadados e de empacotamento de bens, facilitando a integração do Rigel com outros sistemas. O modelo de metadados do RAS foi estendido para apoiar um modelo conceitual de componentes e arquitetura de software. Esta adaptação resultou na criação de quatro novos profiles RAS, para apoiar bens relacionados à DBC: componente abstrato, componente concreto, interface e configuração arquitetural. Um estudo de caso foi conduzido a fim de mostrar como o Rigel apóia um processo de desenvolvimento baseado em componentes. Abstract: The component based development (CBD) permits an application to be built by composition of previously specified, build and tested components, resulting in increases in productivity and quality of the produced software. 1n order to make the reuse of components happen, it is necessary that users are able to search and retrieve previously specified or implemented components. A component repository is important to support this reuse. 1nteroperability is an important requirement for repositories, but not alI the tools consider it with the required relevance. The metadata model of a CBD repository must handle components features, such as interface and separation between specification and implementation. This work presents Rigel, a repository of reusable software assets with a support for component based development. Rigel presents features that make activities performed during the development of component based systems easier, such as search, storage and retrieval of assets and CVS integration. RAS standard was adopted as the asset metadata and packaging format, making Rigel integration with other systems easier. The RAS metadata model was extended to support a conceptual model of components and software architecture. This adaptation resulted in the creation of four new RAS profiles to support CBD related assets: abstract component, concrete component, interface and architectural configuration. A case study was conducted in order to show how Rigel supports a CBD processo We also conclude that Rigel repository features make the component based development easier

Full textIn order to measure quality of life, symptoms and incidence of stress, and the main occupational stressors in clergies (men and women) in the Methodist Church, as well as the degree of association of these variables, an interview was held with 74 adults (49 males and 25 females), 20 and 70 years old, approximately. The following instruments of measure were applied: term of agreement; identification form; inventory of stress symptoms , survey on stress sources in clergies; visual analogic scale and inventory of quality of life. It was noticed that 50% of the sample was highly stressed and that 64,5% had bad quality life in terms of health care. It was also noticed that the percent of female population with stress (64%) overtook that of male in a similar situation (42,86%). As to symptoms, the study showed that in the stressed women the tendency of developing psychological symptoms is higher than it is in the men in the present sample. It was also noticed a significant percent of stress cases among married clergywomen. Significant and negative correlations were observed between quality of life in health area and stress, indicating that higher levels of stress correlates with lower perception of life quality. The research also indicated that the first years of pastoral practice is associated with a higher level of stress. Considering stressors, it was seen that the main sources of stress in a clergy life are: concern about their children s education (due to constant itinerancy); the undergoing of pastoral indication, and financial negotiation (pastoral stipend) between clergies and Church administration.
A fim de averiguar a qualidade de vida, incid?ncia e sintomatologia de stress e os principais estressores ocupacionais em cl?rigos (as) da Igreja Metodista e o grau de associa??o entre estas vari?veis, entrevistou-se 74 pessoas, das quais 49 homens e 25 mulheres, contando entre 20 e 70 anos, aproximadamente. Utilizaram-se os seguintes instrumentos: Termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido; Formul?rio de identifica??o dos participantes; Invent?rio de Sintomas de Stress (ISSL); Levantamento de Fontes de Stress em Cl?rigos (LFSC); Escala Anal?gica Visual (EAV) e Invent?rio de Qualidade de Vida (IQV). Verificou-se que, 50% da amostra, estava com alto n?vel de stress e 64,5% com m? qualidade de vida no que tange a quest?o da sa?de. Observou-se que o percentual de participantes do sexo feminino com stress (64% das mulheres) superou o percentual masculino (42,86%). Quanto aos sintomas observados, constatou-se uma tend?ncia de maior sintomatologia psicol?gica entre mulheres que entre homens estressados. Constatou-se ainda a presen?a de stress, em um percentual significativo de cl?rigas casadas. Observaram-se correla??es significativas e negativas entre a ?rea da sa?de do IQV com os escores nas fases do ISSL, indicando que, quanto maior o n?vel de stress, menor a percep??o de qualidade de vida. Tamb?m se constatou que os primeiros anos do labor pastoral revelaram maiores ?ndices quanto ao n?vel de stress. A partir do LFSC verificou se que as principais fontes estressoras na ocupa??o de cl?rigos (as) s?o: preocupa??o com a educa??o dos filhos frente ?s mudan?as de resid?ncia, sujei??o ao processo de nomea??o pastoral e negocia??o dos subs?dios pastorais com a administra??o da igreja.

Resumo: Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as leis provinciais baianas que foram destinadas a conter a suposta ameaça representada pela população africana liberta. Do mesmo modo, nos interessam os debates que envolveram a elaboração dessas leis e a repercussão delas no cotidiano dessa parcela da população. Fazendo referência às leis nacionais, em especial a Constituição do Império do Brasil e o Código Criminal de 1830, veremos como a situação legal dos africanos libertos, então estrangeiros e sem direitos de cidadania, acabou deixando-os à mercê de medidas restritivas locais. Sendo assim, decidimos analisar as leis elaboradas em dois momentos, um anterior e outro posterior ao Levante dos Malês ocorrido em 1835. Ainda no que tange às medidas de segurança que se dirigiam à população africana, veremos como a lei do fim do tráfico de 7 de novembro de 1831 foi incorporada a este debate, o que contrariava os interesses de senhores e traficantes de escravos africanos. Este tipo de comércio não deixou de existir em nome da tranquilidade da província, mas também veremos como, sob o argumento da urgência de segurança, as leis se tornaram mais duras no seu propósito de restringir ao máximo a autonomia dos africanos libertos ou até mesmo tirá-los completamente do Império, o que foi muito comum através das deportações. Este trabalho também aborda a forma como esses africanos e africanas utilizaram-se dos instrumentos legais disponíveis para, quando possível, fazer uma releitura das leis e do conceito de justiça de maneira a revertê-los em seu favor
Abstract: This work aims to analyze the provincial laws of Bahia that were intended to limit the alleged threat posed by freed African people. Similarly, we are interested in the debates surrounding the drafting of these laws and their daily effect on this segment of the population. Referring to national laws, particularly the Constitution of the Empire of Brazil and the Criminal Code of 1830, we will explore the legal situation of freed Africans, in addition to foreigners without citizenship rights, who were both left at the mercy of local restrictive measures. Therefore, we decided to examine the laws made in two stages: laws made before and laws made after the Malês' Revolt of 1835. In terms of security measures that affected the African population, we will analyze the law that ended trafficking on November 7, 1831 in this debate, which contradicted the interests of lords and traffickers of African slaves. This type of trade was not stopped on behalf of peace in the province, but as we shall see, under the argument of the urgency of security, the laws became tougher with the intention to restrict the maximum autonomy of freed Africans, or even remove them completely from the Empire, which was very common through deportations. This work also addresses how these Africans used the legal tools available to them, where possible, to reassess the concept of justice and reverse these laws in their favor

The present research aims to investigate the literary translation activity of the Carioca poet Ana Cristina Cesar, relating her translation work to the critical conjectures and criteria that guide her own poetic writing. Setting specific analysis in "Words" ("Words"), translation of the poem of the North American poet Sylvia Plath. It will start from the discussion of concepts of literary translation sketched by scholars and poet-translators, Rosemary Arrojo (2003), Paulo Henriques Britto (2016), Paulo Rónai (1976), Mário Laranjeira (1993), Henri Meschonnic (2010), Georges Mounin (1963), Paul Ricoeur (2011), Michaël oustinoff (2011), Lawrence Venuti (2002), Roman Jakobson (1970), Paul Zumthor (2018), Breno Silveira (2004), Even-Zohar (2012), Susan-Bassnett (2003) and Leila M. Darin (2015). These concepts will be added by original fragments of the poet Ana Cristina Cesar, who left us about her translation practice in the book "Criticism and Translation" (2016). The critical sense that guided the poet in his choices, in the lexical and grammatical fields, and that marked his conception of literature between the English (starting language) and the Portuguese (language of arrival). Being relevant the research material included, the publications of "Writings in England", translation drafts that were published and their critical production, some of them located in the IMS (Moreira Salles Institute), in Rio de Janeiro
A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar a atividade de tradução literária da poeta carioca Ana Cristina Cesar, relacionando seu trabalho tradutório às conjeturas críticas e aos critérios que norteiam sua própria escrita poética. Fixando análise específica em “Words” (“Palavras”), tradução do poema da poeta norte-americana Sylvia Plath. Uma prega na linha do fora na qual seja possível inventar um dentro habitável e dar passagem a afetos disso que é conhecido por rigor. Um rigor que se relaciona à disciplina de Análise Real, a qual é contemplada numa grande maioria de cursos de licenciatura em Matemática em nosso país. Tal rigor mostra-se discursivamente atrelado a muitas práticas que ocorrem na formação de professores de Matemática, as quais influenciam sobremaneira a forma como licenciandos lidam com a própria graduação e com suas práticas profissionais. Em nossa composição, adotamos uma estética de escrita-fluxo, em que narrativas ficcionais foram compostas tendo como inspiração e suporte vivências experienciadas pelo próprio autor e por toda uma multidão de sujeitos e obras que o circundam e o atravessam, no intuito de construir uma Tese sem Órgãos, ou seja, uma composição desprovida de uma organização prévia. Para tal, estabelecemos alianças teóricas mais estreitas com o pensamento arqueológico de Michel Foucault e com o conceito de Corpo sem Órgãos, de Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari, bem como consonâncias junto a constelações teóricas que orbitam cada um desses pensadores. Abstract: This research, as a kind of boat, becomes composition that is launched in a sea in search for a fold. A crease in the line of the outside in which it is possible to invent a habitable inside and and give passage to affections of that which is known as rigor. A rigor that is related to the discipline of Real Analysis, which is included in a large majority of undergraduate courses in Mathematics in our country. Such rigor is shown to be discursively linked to many practices that occur in the formation of mathematics teachers, which greatly influence the way they deal with their own graduation and their professional practices. In our composition, we adopted a flow-writing aesthetic, in which fictional narratives were composed having as inspiration and support experiences experienced by the author himself and by a whole multitude of subjects and works that surround and cross him, in order to build a Thesis without Organs, that is, a composition without prior organization. To this goal, we established closer theoretical alliances with the archaeological thought by Michel Foucault and with the concept of Body without Organs, by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, as well as consonances with theoretical constellations that orbit each of these thinkers. Full textWith only four years of mandated state-standards in adult basic education (ABE), very little is known about the influence of state-standards implementation on the unique learning needs of its adult students. Two decades of research on standards-based education in the U.S. K12 system has yielded widely debated results regarding the impact of state-standards on student achievement. Against this backdrop, state-standards implementation within the distinct context of Minnesota ABE was examined in this study, specifically the perceived influence of standards implementation on teacher practices and student engagement in cognitive rigor, as well as the teacher, site, and student characteristics reported to have either supported or challenged implementation. The basic qualitative design was utilized to collect and interpret the perceptions and experiences of its sample of 12 Minnesota ABE teachers from distinct instructional contexts with 12 or more hours of standards implementation training. Data triangulation was utilized for data collection, including an interview and two member checks. The inductive analysis procedure in concert with the constant comparative method was used to analyze the interviews and develop themes and deeper connections based on the theory of complex adaptive systems. The results of the study showed that, overall, participants reported modest changes in their teaching practices that they perceived to have increased their students’ engagement in cognitive rigor. Participants also reported modest changes in student demonstration of learning that indicated increased cognitive rigor. Findings indicated a minimal contrast to the inconclusive nature of the K12 research base in establishing a link between standards implementation and increased student achievement. Furthermore, the findings showed that state leaders should continue to offer robust training and support teacher collaboration.

Full textA etapa do abate é um dos pontos críticos na gestão da piscicultura, ao induzir stress nos peixes, o que não só afeta o bem-estar animal, como também a qualidade do produto final. No decorrer das investigações relativas à neuroanatomia e neurofisiologia dos peixes, é cada vez mais aceite que, tal como os mamíferos e aves, os peixes também são animais sencientes. Contudo, não são abrangidos pelo regulamento relativo à proteção dos animais no abate. Como tal, a etapa do abate de peixes acaba por ser negligenciada, ao ter pouca ou nenhuma consideração pelo bem-estar animal. O principal objetivo desta dissertação é dar uma visão integrada dos efeitos de diferentes métodos de atordoamento e abate na corvina (Argyrosomus regius), um peixe teleósteo da família Sciaenidae, com crescente utilização na aquacultura. Os métodos estudados foram asfixia por exposição ao ar, termonarcose, eletronarcose, secção medular e iki jime. Foi avaliada a influência destes métodos nas componentes bem-estar animal e qualidade. No que se refere ao bem-estar animal, procedeu-se à avaliação da insensibilização e da resposta fisiológica ao stress, quanto à qualidade foi avaliada a evolução do músculo post mortem (rigor mortis) em associação com a avaliação sensorial do grau frescura. Os resultados revelaram que, o método japonês iki jime foi o único a induzir insensibilização imediata que, por sua vez, apresentou a resposta ao stress mais discreta e melhores resultados em termos de qualidade. Também foi possível apoiar a tese de que a asfixia por exposição ao ar não é uma prática ética, ao induzir uma resposta ao stress grave, o que demonstrou afetar de forma negativa a qualidade, ao acelerar o desenvolvimento do rigor mortis e, por sua vez, a deterioração do músculo. Como complementaridade ao estudo anterior, foi realizado um inquérito por questionário, com o objetivo de avaliar a perceção do consumidor sobre o abate de peixes. Os resultados revelaram que, existe um forte desconhecimento acerca deste domínio, sobretudo no que se refere aos métodos de atordoamento e abate alternativos ao método praticado na pesca tradicional (asfixia por exposição ao ar). Contudo, os resultados revelaram também que, o método de abate a que o peixe for submetido pode influenciar a atitude do cidadão enquanto consumidor, o que pode representar um impacto no mercado. O reforço desta preocupação com o bem-estar dos peixes no abate, para além de promover a adoção de práticas mais éticas, também contribui para melhorar a qualidade, e assim, satisfazer as necessidades das caraterísticas intrínseca e extrínsecas do produto, exigidas por parte do consumidor.
ABSTRACT - Slaughter of meagre (Argyrosomus regius): what is the method that minimizes stress and maximizes quality? The slaughter is one of the important steps in fish farming management, it causes stress on animals and consequently reduces animal welfare as well as the quality of the product. In the course of investigations into the neuroanatomy and neurophysiology of fish, it is becoming more accepted, that like mammals and birds, fish are also sentient animals. However, they are not embraced by animal rights regulations. Therefore, the stage of fish slaughter ends up being neglected, with no consideration for the animal welfare. The main objective of this dissertation is to provide an evaluation of the effects of different stunning and slaughter methods in meagre (Argyrosomus regius), a teleost fish of the Sciaenidae family, with increasing exploration in aquaculture. The methods studied were: asphyxiation by air exposure, thermonarcosis, electronarcosis, medullary section and iki jime. The influence of these methods on animal welfare and quality components was evaluated. With regard to animal welfare, the sensitization and physiological response to stress were evaluated. The quality of the post mortem muscle (rigor mortis) evolution was evaluated in association with the sensory evaluation of the freshness degree. The results showed that the Japanese, iki jime, method was the only one that induced immediate insensitivity, which in turn had a lower stress response and better quality. It was also possible to concluded that asphyxiation by air exposure is not an ethic practice, causing high levels of stress, which negatively affects meat quality by accelerating the process of fish deterioration. As a complement to the previous study, a survey was conducted to assess fish slaughter awareness by fish consumers. The results revealed that fish slaughter is still a fairly unknown subject, especially regarding the alternative methods to the traditional method (asphyxiation by air exposure). However, it revealed that consumers preference can be influence, when they are aware of the different slaughter methods, which can have an impact on the market. Using slaughter methods that take animal welfare in account, will not only reduce the animal stress but also improve fish quality, and thus meeting the needs of the intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics of the product by the consumer.

O presente trabalho visa analisar o desenvolvimento de uma nova metodologia, entre os séculos XVI e XVII, que parece promover um maior rigor científico. Tal metodologia expressa uma nova relação entre saber e técnica, pressupondo uma imagem de natureza que possa ser usada de modo a favorecer o correto entendimento de mundo. Valores cognitivos são debatidos para que a interpretação da natureza ocorresse da melhor forma possível. Na astronomia, foco do trabalho, essa estratégia se concretizou com o uso da luneta, por Galileu, bem como com os critérios por ele adotados, que se expressavam no desejo pela autonomia da ciência. Não obstante, espero demonstrar que essa metodologia começou com Tycho Brahe, importante astrônomo da era pré-telescópio que desenvolveu grandes instrumentos para o estudo dos céus de modo a obter os números mais exatos de sua época; igualmente, a adequação empírica parece ser um importante valor a ser manifestado por concepções científicas, segundo o pensamento do autor. Nesse sentido, o presente estudo de caso dará enfoque a este novo método que parece nascer com Brahe e se consolidar com Galileu.
This work aims to analyze the development of a new methodology, between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, that seems to have promoted a greater scientific rigor. This methodology expresses a new relation between knowledge and technique, assuming a picture of Nature that could be used to enable the correct understanding of the World. Cognitive values were discussed so the interpretation of Nature could happen in the most desirable approach. In astronomy, focus of this work, this strategy was consolidated amidst the use of the telescope, as Galileo, in conjunction with the criteria adopted by him which expressed his desire for an autonomy of science. Nevertheless, I aim to demonstrate that this methodology began with Tycho Brahe, an important astronomer from the pre-telescope age, who developed great instruments for the pondering of the heavens as to get the most accurate numbers during his time; likewise, the empirical adequacy seems to be an important value to be manifested for scientific conceptions, according to the author. In this sense, the work focuses on this new method that seems to have begun with Brahe and have consolidated with Galileo.

The methodology used is qualitative and the data obtained comes from a content analysis of her most popular videos. Also, from interviews with students who consume the kind of videos Nancy produces. In this way, the study reveals what makes this youtuber successful, what impact it generates on the audience and what is the intervention of brands in the process.

The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus (FTC) occupies a prominent position in the study of Differential and Integral Calculus (DIC) as it establishes a relationship which exists between the operations of integration and differentiation as inverse to each other in addition to its use in the calculation of definite integrals, especially in solving problems which involve area, volume and arc length, amongst others. However, in the context of Mathematics Education, regarding the teaching and learning of Calculus, researches conducted in Brazil and other countries like France, England and the United States, have shown misunderstanding on the part of the students regarding the lack of connection between the concepts of Integral and Derivatives in the study of FTC. Facing this scenario, this thesis aimed at conducting a didactic and epistemological study of FTC, presenting, as its result, the elaboration and analysis of teaching intervention of which main aim was to reveal and bring up the relationship between the operations of derivation and integration and under which conditions this relationship is established as this constitutes the essence of the theorem. As a theoretical frame of reference, one has used the ideas connected to the use of intuition and rigor in the construction of mathematical knowledge according to Henri Poincaré (1995) as well as the categorizations of intuition and the interrelations between its components: the formal, algorithmic and intuitive components in mathematical activities according to Efraim Fischbein (1991). The research presented is qualitative, presenting, as methodological procedures, the development of a teaching intervention as wells as the analysis of the solutions to questions proposed by fourteen students from a technological course in a public college in the state of São Paulo with the help of Geogebra Software. In order to analyze the resolutions, besides the already mentioned theoretical frame of reference, one has also adopted the works of Tall (1991) on the role of visualization of the teaching of Calculus and the interrelationships with intuition and rigor. As results, one highlights that exploring the concepts of integral, initially by the idea of accumulation and working simultaneously with the question related to the variation of this accumulation, has shown to be a suitable strategy so that students could understand the mutual relationship between integration and derivation as operations inverse to each other, as well as it allowed them to internalize such relationship as in the genesis of FTC which came after the study of these operations. Furthermore, one can conclude that the concept of function constituted the conducting principle which guided students on the understanding of FTC. Nevertheless, difficulties in understanding the continuity of a function, one of the central points of the theorem, was also an issue which came up in the results of the teaching intervention. Analysis has shown better results on students dealing with mathematical activities when the axis of interactions among formal, algorithmic and intuitive components is dealt with the axis regarding the question of visualization in the process of teaching and learning Calculus. At the end of tasks, one has observed that students have begun to show indications of concern in order to relate intuition with rigor in the building of mathematical knowledge
O Teorema Fundamental do Cálculo (TFC) ocupa uma posição de destaque no estudo do Cálculo Diferencial e Integral (CDI), pois estabelece a relação existente entre as operações de integração e derivação como inversas entre si, além da sua utilização no cálculo de integrais definidas, em especial na resolução de problemas envolvendo área, volume e comprimento de arco, entre outras. Entretanto, no âmbito da Educação Matemática, quanto ao ensino e aprendizagem do Cálculo, pesquisas realizadas no Brasil e em outros países, tais como França, Inglaterra e Estados Unidos evidenciaram a incompreensão dos alunos no tocante à falta de ligação existente entre os conceitos de integral e derivada no estudo do TFC em um curso de Cálculo. Diante desse panorama, esta tese teve por objetivo realizar um estudo didático e epistemológico do TFC, apresentando como resultado a elaboração e análise de uma intervenção de ensino que procurou fazer emergir a relação entre as operações de integração e derivação e sob quais condições essa relação se estabelece, o que constitui a essência do teorema. Como referencial teórico foram utilizadas as ideias ligadas ao uso da intuição e do rigor na construção do conhecimento matemático, segundo Henri Poincaré (1995), bem como as categorizações da intuição e as inter-relações entre os componentes: formal, algorítmico e intuitivo nas atividades matemáticas, de acordo com Efraim Fischbein (1991). A pesquisa é qualitativa, apresentando como procedimentos metodológicos a elaboração de uma intervenção de ensino, bem como a análise das resoluções das questões efetuadas por 14 estudantes do curso de Tecnologia de uma faculdade pública do Estado de São Paulo com o auxílio do software GeoGebra. Para análise das resoluções, além do referencial teórico citado, foram adotados os trabalhos de Tall (1991) sobre o papel da visualização no ensino do Cálculo e as inter-relações com a intuição e o rigor. Como resultados, destaca-se que explorar os conceitos de integral inicialmente por meio da ideia de acumulação, simultaneamente trabalhando-se com a questão da variação dessa acumulação, mostrou-se uma estratégia pertinente para que os estudantes compreendessem a relação mútua entre integração e derivação como operações inversas uma da outra, assim como permitiu que os estudantes interiorizassem que tal relação, como ocorreu na gênese do TFC, realizou-se posteriormente ao estudo dessas operações. Além disso, pode-se concluir que o conceito de função constituiu-se na linha condutora que norteou o entendimento dos estudantes sobre o TFC. Não obstante, as dificuldades da compreensão de continuidade de uma função, um dos pontos centrais do teorema, também foi uma questão que emergiu dos resultados da intervenção de ensino. A análise mostrou melhores resultados por parte dos estudantes nas atividades matemáticas, quando o eixo das interações entre os componentes algorítmico, formal e intuitivo é trabalhado em conjunto com o eixo relacionado à questão da visualização no ensino e aprendizagem do Cálculo. No final das tarefas, observou-se que os estudantes começaram a mostrar indícios da preocupação de relacionar a intuição com o rigor na construção do conhecimento matemático

Resumo: A presente dissertação faz uma análise da construção do estatuto simbólico dos animais domésticos comestíveis no contexto industrial brasileiro contemporâneo. Toma como foco a produção animal, e, mais especificamente, sua fase final, o abate, que, articulando-se ao universo do consumo, constitui um forte momento simbólico na construção do comestível, isto é, a categoria histórica "animal de açougue". A indústria da carne pressupõe disjunções e afastamentos, que têm como resultado a produção de uma mercadoria, autônoma e distante de sua verdadeira origem, o animal. Dentre os mecanismos de afastamento promovidos pela indústria, o método do abate humanitário apresenta alto rendimento simbólico, pois permite a conjunção paradoxal entre a mitigação do sofrimento animal e a eficiência, súmula da lógica do capital industrial
Abstract: This work analyses the construction of the symbolic statute of the edible domestic animals in the contemporary brazilian industrial context. The focal point is on animal production and more specifically in its final phase, the slaughtering, which, in articulation with the universe of consumption, constitutes an important moment in the construction of the edible, i.e., the historical category of "meat animal". The meat industry presupposes disjunctions and distances, which result in the production of a commodity, autonomous and distant from its actual origin, the animal. Amongst the disjunction mechanisms promoted by the industry, the method of humane slaughter yields high symbolic results, since it permits the paradoxical gathering of the mitigation of animal suffering and the efficiency, epitome of the logic of the industrial capital

Full textThis thesis is part of the doctoral work in Musical Performance with specialization in Choral Conducting for the Post-Graduation Program in Music of the Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo. During the four doctoral years, concerts, rehearsals and practices were undertaken simultaneously with the writing of this text which discusses questions regarding the practice of a performer. Our main object is the relationship between musical writing and performance. As interpreters, we seek to understand what the creative spaces and their limits within a work of music are. In order to do this, the choral work of the Brazilian composer Osvaldo Lacerda - known for his rigorous and rather indicative writing - was used. After a reflection on the conflicts between composition and interpretation, a general critical analysis of the compositional writing of Lacerda was carried out to identify the spaces for the creativity of the interpreter. Next, an in-depth analysis was carried out on four compositions by Osvaldo Lacerda: Automação, Romaria, and O Papagaio and the movement Uníssono of the work Quatro Estudos para Coro. The analyzed works were presented during the doctoral period together with the Chamber Choir Comunicantus and we could form, test and consolidate our interpretative conceptualizations, as is commented and justified throughout the text. Lastly, we point to some answers regarding the creative space in the performance of an extremely indicative piece and about the responsibility of the interpreter to the sheet music.

Full textThe purpose for this study was to examine the relationship between adolescent identity development, relevance, and rigor among high school students. The premise under investigation is rooted in the concept of building rigor through relevance. Students who have engaged in personal exploration and commitment to certain ideological and interpersonal issues, specifically personal and occupational identity (Erikson, 1982; Marcia, 2002; Super, 1980) are purported to find increased relevancy in their coursework (Crumpton & Gregory, 2011) and in turn engage in more rigorous studies. This study used a profile of high school seniors to explore the relationship between adolescent identify development, student participation in relevance building activities, and engagement in academic rigor.
This cross-sectional study utilized quantitative methods to analyze archival survey, transcript, and performance data on student engagement in relevance, rigor, and identity producing activities (Fink, 2009). A Midwest school district, granting access to archival data, had engaged in extensive research on relevance, rigor, and identity. A review of literature resulted in the emergence of six factors related to college and career readiness. The focus on career exploration, adult guidance and support, career planning, occupational identity status, academic intensity, and performance benchmarks were aligned with the research questions for this study.
Findings of the study revealed students had positive experiences with adult guidance and support and career planning. Students reported parents or guardians and teachers as having a significant influence on their career aspirations, while counselors were viewed in a less significant role. Perceptions of career exploration experiences were reported low, however a lack of workplace experience was found as a key factor in that finding. Students in the study were found to have engaged in overall low levels of academic intensity which was consistent with the literature on academic rigor. A key finding was that adolescent identity status matters in relation to academic rigor and relevance. Exploration of individual passions and interests followed by commitment to an occupational identity was found to be related to engagement in rigor and relevance.
The study provided insight into the relationship between adolescent identity development, relevance, and rigor among high school students. However, additional questions about this relationship emerged during the study. Further research into the role of school counselors as leaders, impact of workplace experience on occupational identity development, exploration of how identity develops over time, analysis of career exploration variables related to identity, and exploration of findings for ACT composite will support more clarity in the arena of college and career readiness.
