Abstract:
Abstract There is an increasing number of female migrants among the international migrants in Russia. The purpose of this study is to identify the social risks female migrants face. Statistics and data from surveys were analyzed, interviews were held with experts providing practical assistance to women and focus groups were conducted with female migrants. The employment sector in which young female migrants face the most risks and are likely to work illegally is commercial sex services. The social risks are mainly related to a lack of knowledge about the culture, their illegal status; risky behavior is also a big issue. The conclusion is that the social risks are linked to the gender asymmetry existing in the labor market and to the more vulnerable position of women with regard to sexual exploitation and trafficking.

Abstract:
Currently there is a high public interest in solving the problems of preventive medicine (vaccinations, medical check-ups, clinical examinations). This can be largely explained by legislative initiatives that draw mixed reactions from the public, by real problems that people face during vaccinations and medical check-ups, and, certainly, by the pandemic of COVID-19. A separate group of problems connected with various preventive medical programs is composed of criminological risks and prevention of crimes associated with preventive healthcare. The authors give a definition of criminological security in the sphere of preventive medicine, single out criminological risks and present their classification. They describe the essence of key criminological risks of preventive medicine (iatrogenic and corruption ones), establish their causes and outline the ways of their prevention. To reduce the iatrogenic risks of vaccination, it is suggested that a systemic national monitoring of the safety of vaccines should be organized, including the analysis of official data, public surveys, comparison of data from various sources, and other measures. To reduce the iatrogenic risks of medical check-ups, it is necessary to reject medical examinations that pose high risks to life and health; it is also necessary for the Russian Ministry of Healthcare to issue orders with a list of medical manipulations included in check-ups which would also act as criteria of their completeness. The authors believe that corruption risks in the sphere of preventive medicine can be reduced through the following measures: 1) vaccinations and check-ups should be conducted after citizens request them in their accounts (this should reduce the number of distorted records); 2) the list of compulsory check-up procedures should not include the procedures that cause pain, are dangerous to health and life, as well as those connected with accessing closed parts of the human body, or they should be substituted with alternative procedures that provide diagnostic results; 3) a time limit for check-ups should be introduced; 4) preventive medicine should be included in the monitoring of the effectiveness of corruption counteraction. A legal and criminological expertise of draft legal acts that regulate the procedure of medical check-ups, conducted by leading legal centers (universities), should become a general measure of preventing criminological risks of medical check-ups.

Abstract:
The period of the menopausal transition from 40–45 years to menopause – is the crucial period of a woman’s life, in which, against the background of increasing estrogen deficiency, in addition to the appearance of vasomotor, psychological, and urogenital symptoms, complications and exacerbations of accumulated extagenital diseases occur. The loss of the natural balance of sex hormones leads to hyperplastic processes in hormone-dependent tissues, which leads to cancer risks. In solving this problem, menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) can play a crucial role, but this will become possible if, when choosing drugs for MHT, preference will be given to the safest dosage forms that provide the whole spectrum of compensatory reactions, including the prevention of dramatic situations of this age.

Abstract:
AbstractThis section discusses the regulation of “lifestyle risks” a term that can apply to both substances and behaviours. Lifestyle risks take place along the line of “abstinence - consumption - abuse - addiction”. This can concern substances such as food, alcohol or drugs, as well as behaviours such as gambling or sports. The section also addresses the question of the appropriate point of equilibrium between free choice and state intervention (regulation), as well as the question of when risks can be considered to be acceptable or tolerable. In line with the interdisciplinary scope of the journal, the section aims at updating readers on both the regulatory and the scientific developments in the field. It analyses legislative initiatives and judicial decisions and at the same time it provides insight into recent empirical studies on lifestyle risks.

Abstract:
Cuba still has a double burden of health risks. It must contend with some risks to health that persist in underdeveloped rural areas, and it must also deal with the risk factors associated with modern, urban living conditions. The economic and social changes fostered in the postrevolutionary period have reduced the relative importance of the first set of factors, but the changes have also introduced or intensified a myriad of factors derived from their own successes. In this article, the risk factors of greatest concern in contemporary Cuba are described, and the strategies adopted to combat these risk factors, together with the ways in which such strategies are shaped by Cuba's social and economic development are discussed.

Abstract:
The protection of workers exposed to specific risks is regulated by a substantial and well individualized legislation on safety and health at work. Currently there are many difficulties and shortcomings in implementing legal requirements on specific risks assessment and prevention, especially due to their insufficient knowledge and understanding by employers. In this context, starting from detailing and explaining legal requirements applicable, this paper aims to summarize and systematize the information regarding available, both at national and European level, tools and guides prepared for a unitary process of implementation of legal provisions on specific risks assessment and prevention. The paper was structured so as to constitute a legal and methodological guide to assist employers and other interested parties in the effort to implement an efficient and effective management of preventive activities directed to avoid or reduce workers’ exposure to specific risks.

Abstract:
Caries incidence and prevalence have decreased significantly over the last few decades due to widespread use of fluoride. However, an increase in the prevalence of dental fluorosis has been reported in both fluoridated and non-fluoridated communities. Care must be taken to ensure that a balance between the optimal fluoride preventive effect at the individual and community level and minimal risk of dental fluorosis is maintained. This review describes the main sources of fluoride intake that have been identified: fluoridated drinking water, dietary fluoride supplement, and topical forms comprising toothpastes, rinses, gels and varnishes. The cited data were taken from meta-analytic studies and reports from Cochrane database systematic reviews up to December 2019. Efficiency, but safety, of topically applied fluorides in individual home care is dependent on the degree of compliance of individuals/parents and on the level of competence of providers of preventive counselling. The broad spectrum of these resources allows individualization of fluoride prevention based on risk analysis of caries attack and taking into consideration other preventive measures.

"School-Based Prevention of Screen-Related Risk Behaviors during the Long-Term Distant Schooling Caused by COVID-19 Outbreak." International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health 18, no. 16 (August 13, 2021): 8561. http://dx.doi.org/10.3390/ijerph18168561.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 outbreak and related restrictions meant a higher incidence of screen-related risk behaviors in both children and adolescents. Our goal was to assess the perceived importance and extent of school-based preventions related to these risks during the long-term, nation-wide distant schooling period in the Czech Republic. The online survey was responded to by the school-based prevention specialists (N = 1698). For the analysis, within-subject analysis of variance (ANOVA) and binominal logistic regression were used. At-risk internet use and cyber-bullying were perceived as pressing, but other risks, for example, excessive internet use or the use of cyberpornography, received substantially less priority. The differences in all grades were significant and moderate to large (η2G between 0.156 and 0.288). The proportion of schools which conducted prevention interventions of screen-related risks was low (between 0.7% and 27.8%, depending on the grade and the type of the risk). The probability of delivering prevention intervention was in all grades significantly predicted by the presence of screen-related problems in pupils (OR 3.76–4.88) and the perceived importance of the screen-related risks (OR 1.55–1.97). The limited capacity of schools to deliver prevention interventions during distant schooling as well as the low awareness and impaired ability to recognize the importance of some screen-related risks should be addressed.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to study the essence, factors, and ways for minimization of macroeconomic risks. The subject of the study is the macroeconomic risks. Research methodology. The research is based on the use of general scientific and special-scientific methods and techniques of scientific knowledge. The dialectical method was used for the determination of the basic causes of macroeconomic risks. The logic-semantic method was utilized for definition of the content of such concepts as “macroeconomic risk”, “collateral systems”, “oversight”. Methods of analysis and synthesis helped us to study individual mechanisms of macroeconomic risks for their prevention and minimization. The comparative legal method was used to compare doctrinal approaches to this issue. The same method was used during the study of the positive experience of European countries in relation to this issue. The system-structural method was utilized during the analysis of the most common macroeconomic models to minimize macroeconomic risks. With the help of the legal modelling method, some proposals for the prevention and minimization of macroeconomic risks were developed. Practical implication. The study of the essence of macroeconomic risks, as well as an analysis of the principles and methods of their evaluation, helped to formulate conclusions on prevention and minimization of macroeconomic risks in accordance with the requirements of the new time. Correlation/originality. The most important tools for preventing macroeconomic risks are considered. It was proved that the strategic factor in reducing the negative effects of macroeconomic risks is the “new economy” or “economy of knowledge”. The principle of civilized regulation of systemic risks is formulated. The most characteristic factors that provoke macroeconomic risks in the sphere of money laundering were identified.
