Abstract:
In hexaploid wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) (AABBDD, C = 17 000 Mb), repeat DNA accounts for ∼90% of the genome, of which transposable elements (TEs) constitute 60%–80%. Despite the dynamic evolution of TEs, our previous study indicated that the majority of TEs are conserved and collinear between the homologous wheat genomes, based on identical insertion patterns. In this study, we exploited the unique and abundant TE insertion junction regions identified from diploid Aegilops tauschii to develop genome-specific repeat DNA junction markers (RJM) for use in hexaploid wheat. Galaxy velocity mapsoften show the typical pattern of a rotating disk, consistent with the dynamical model where emitters rotate in circular orbits around the galactic center. The simplest template used to fit these maps consists in the rotating disk model (RDM) where the amplitude of circular velocities is fixed by the observed velocity profile along the kinematic axis. A more sophisticated template is the rotating tilted-ring model (RTRM) that takes into account the presence of warps and allows a radius-dependent orientation of the kinematic axis. In both cases, axisymmetry is assumed and re

One possibility is that the perception of disturbed sleep may be related to immune activation or anxiety/depression, without impairment of objective sleep. The P-RAM model of computation has proved to be a very useful theoretical model for exploiting and extracting inherent parallelism in problems and thus for designing parallel algorithms. Therefore, it becomes very important to examine whether results obtained for such a model can be translated onto machines considered to be more realistic in the face of current technological constraints. In this thesis, we show how the implementation of many techniques and algorithms designed for the P-RAM can be achieved on the feasible SIMD class of computers.
