This is because the impact of terrorism is devastating and destructive. Everyone is in one way or another. Methods: The study made use of Leonard Berkowitz Frustration Aggression Theory (1989) and Robert Agnew General Strain Theory (GST, 1991) to explain terrorism, insecurity, and criminality in Nigeria. The study employed qualitative study using Key Informant Interview (KII) and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) using the youths as the population or universe. Results: The study concluded that terrorism is universally abhorred and generally seen as an unlawful, barbaric, and inhuman crime. It is a crime against man and society that must not be allowed to strive because it erodes peace, destroys properties, leads to loss of lives, and stampede growth and development. Abstract:
Information literacy models and role of libraries within students‘ information education (ISP, Big 6). Príspevok predstavuje dva odlišné modely informačnej gramotnosti (Information Search Process,The Big6 Skills), ako aj z nich vyplývajúce možnosti integrácie knižníc do procesu informačného vzdelávania na základných a stredných školách. The contribution presents two information literacy models, as well as possibilities to integrate libraries into the process of information education at elementary and high schools. First model is Information Search Process (ISP) first suggested by Carol C. Kuhlthau, who is currently retired American professor of Library and Information Science. The author of the article clarifies basis of the model, its fundamental stages defined by the analysis of respondent‘s experiences with information searching, and role of librarians as mediators in the context of the model too. Second model is The Big Six Skills developed by Michael Eisenberg and Robert Berkowitz. The common feature of both mentioned models is an emphasis on cooperation of teachers and librarians within the education for information. Dostupné na: link 1, link 2, link 3, link 4, link 5, link 6 Záznam: KIS3G, Uniba.sk, CREPČ 1

Abstract:
Dear Sir, I greatly enjoyed reading the paper by David and Lim on “Congenital Bilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis”1 and complement the authors on their excellent surgical outcome. They also very appropriately underscored the primacy of careful clinical assessment over costly investigations, particularly in an environment of scarce resources. We have previously reported on the MRI findings in 23 children with bilateral vocal fold dysfunction (BVFD) as an isolated abnormality that was present at birth. We found MRI abnormalities in 35%, but these were all non-specific.2 This study indicated that MRI was of research and clinical value, but did not identify any major CNS structural abnormalities in this patient group. However, the case reported by David and Lim involved the delayed onset of symptoms at 2 years of age that may have increased over the next 3 years. This acquired and possibly progressive disease process differs from that of congenital BVFD. The likelihood of Arnold-Chiari malformation or another significant structural CNS abnormality being present would appear to be higher when symptoms of BVFD are acquired later in life compared to when they are present at birth. Anecdotally, I have been involved with a case of acquired BVFD presenting at a similar age where the underlying cause was found to be a posterior fossa tumour. The 3 year history of symptoms in the child in the case report would very likely preclude this diagnosis, but certainly another CNS cause needs to be considered to explain the development of delayed-onset brainstem dysfunction, and this would require MRI. Robert Berkowitz Department of Otolaryngology Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Australia

Abstract:
One of the ongoing objectives of the Johnson & Johnson Pediatric Institute is to provide pediatricians with practical information on issues that will improve the health of children. Each year the Board of Trustees selects a topic whose importance is just becoming clear, a topic that is not being addressed adequately in other forums or in the usual pediatric reference sources. Recent topics have included what the pediatrician can contribute toward violence prevention and how the pediatrician can thrive in the changing health care system. The Board of Trustees chose community-based education for the pediatric resident as the 1996 topic. A variety of factors, including the dramatic increase in managed care during the past few years, has led to an increasing proportion of children's care being shifted from inpatient to outpatient settings and has augmented the need for pediatrician involvement in public health and community issues. Some necessary major changes in resident education are reflected in the new Pediatric Residency Review Committee requirements and in the Pediatric Education in Community Settings. A Manual, whose sponsors or supporters included the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Health Resources and Services Administration. After the Board selected this topic for the 1996 conference, a planning committee—Errol Alden, Carol Berkowitz, Tom DeWitt, Lewis First, Alan Kohrt, and Ken Roberts—determined the structure, content, target audience, and possible faculty. Tom DeWitt and Ken Roberts, chosen as co-chairs, assumed the crucial and laborious tasks of developing the specifics of the program and of identifying the conference faculty and the invitees.
