Full textThe centrosome favours nucleation and anchoring of microtubules. It is composed of a centriole pair and a pericentriolar material. Centrioles duplicate once per cell cycle in a conservative manner, thus they have not the same age. The older one is named mother centriole and carried appendages. In interphase, the younger centriole moves whereas the mother is immotile. I worked on the role of the mother centriole in ciliogenesis and in microtubule organisation in interphase. The mother centriole can be anchored to the plasma membrane and promoted the formation of an axoneme. Few data are available about control of centriole size, anchoring to the membrane and of formation of the axoneme. Delta-tubulin could be a good candidate to participate in these processes. This protein is localized at the pericentrosomal material and at the cell junctions in mammal cells, and at the transition basal bodies/axonemes in c. Reinhardtii. At the onset of ciliogenesis, one of these tubulin forms disappeared. Its overexpression leads to cold hypersensitivity of microtubules, and without delta-tubulin centrioles might be longer, suggesting that this protein should regulate dynamics of some microtubules. In interphase cells, microtubules are anchored at subdistal appendages. My work has shown that the presence of the gamma-turc at the centrosome is not sufficient to anchor microtubules, suggesting that microtubule nucleation and anchoring at the centrosome are two independent processes. The microtubule anchoring seems to be dependent on the presence of the mother centriole protein ninein. This protein is able to dock the nucleation complex and the anchoring complex on these appendages

Full textGiven that the father is always uncertain, we tried to understand what drive French men and Turkish men from France to claim ownership of psychic fatherhood, in the contemporary world. In order to achieve this, we attempt to collect inner feelings, expectations as well as father becoming’s indicators, throughout the perinatality period. We proceed by data collection by way of singular talks of men who are in the process of becoming-father. We observed that wife primes the process leading to fatherhood at the time of the announcement of pregnancy. The imaginary link of these men to the child will forge this construction but also every protagonists with whom they will be in contact. The symbolic debt’s refund is the driving force of this construction. Indeed, the father with his own signifiers, creates a personal relation of father. The language in which he comes within plays a role : the father is eminently a cultural product

Full textThis study presents the parental systems' evolution to Gabon, consequence of deep socials transformations. The father has became the first responsible for the child to the detriment of the maternal uncle, guarantor of the ancestral authority. Our purpose was to grasp the repartition and the specificity of father's, mother's and maternal uncle's roles beside the mbédé child. Under the parental authority, the child weaves a series of socio-affective relationships and starting from here it defines its autonomy, identifies, socializes and builds him self. The study was lead next to then families (each in turn consisting of a father, a mother, a maternal uncle and a boy) appertaining of a fortunate environment. The explicative variable: the parental dynamics is measured whit a semi-directive questionnaire and have five dimensions. Those are: the socio-affective relationships, the authority, the care, the education and the parental roles. The variable to explain, the socio-personal development of the child, evaluated with a questionnaire and a non filmed observation, have four dimensions: the socio-affective relationships, the authority, the parental roles and the identification. The results present a parental dynamics very obvious beside the child, with a father who implicate him self progressively, a mother still present and a maternal uncle who is less present beside the child

Full textThe aim of this dissertation is to determine the role played by Joseph-Marie Amiot (1718-1793), a representative 18th century Jesuit in China, in cultural relations between China and the West. Its methodological basis is translation studies and imagology. It examines the historical context, Amiot’s translations and his correspondence with Western scholars. It examines Amiot’s complicated cultural identity, in order to understand the influence of the Jesuit tradition on his thinking and the transformation of his cultural identity through constant contact with another tradition and to trace the impact of his complex cultural identity on his work, and thus to draw out the meaning of the picture he painted of China

Full textThe goal of this study is to examine the intergenerational transmission of attachment in adoptive infant-father dyads, and the effect of “adoptive father experience” as a moderator variable in this transmission. Accordingly, this research studies intergenerational concordance between paternal attachment representation and his 4 – 5 years-olds child’s attachment representation in adoptive Chilean families. In addition, we analyzed the moderator effect of “adoptive father experience”. 25 infant-father adoptive dyads participated in this study, and a control group of 2à dyads infant-father biological dyads was considered. Results show that most of adoptive infants have a secure attachment representation. We did not find evidence for concordance between paternal attachment representation and his 4 – 5 years-old child’s attachment representation in adoptive and in biological Chilean families. Moreover, “Adoptive father experience” does not affect quality of child’s attachment representation. Also “Adoptive father experience” does not have a moderator effect in intergenerational transmission of attachment from adoptive father to child. Our findings suggest that satisfaction of “adoptive father experience” is associated with the quality of adoptive father’s attachment representation, and that the child’s characteristics, such as gender, can influence quality of child’s attachment representation, and satisfaction of “adoptive father experience”

Full textWithin the framework of the social psychology of child development, our study aims at establishing a link between paternal involvement and the relation to learning of children within the period of latency (8-10 years old). We have chosen to favour singularity and the meaning attached to knowledge for the subject (Charlot 1999, Beillerot and al. , 1996). We believe that the reason for the father's efficaciousness must be looked for on the side of the child, in the significance taken on by paternal involvement for his child. 366 children replied to a questionnaire concerning the involvement of their fathers. 24 children belonging to six groups of fathers with contrasted involvement took part in a semi-structured interview. Our hypothesis according to which the significance taken on by the father's involvement for the child has an influence upon the child's relation to learning has proved true. We have established six differenciated profiles of children concerning their relation to learning depending on the six types of fathers involved

Full textThe present research studies how to share out parental roles in the prospect of a delinquent and sexual individual behaviour which expresses itself through various kinds of sexual aggressions. The study is done on twenty-seven sexual aggressors who are Lebanese and other Middle East citizens, incarcerated during 1999. The research starts on the problematic of the importance of patriarchal imago which may be embodied by the father himself or by any other person replacing him, as being an identification and internalisation mark necessary to get a well-develops child. The results of the research have shown that combining a weak and submissive mother with an authoritarian, violent source of security in the identification and internalisation mark arises in the individual a feeling of collapse and annihilation that only a violent and sexual acting out may save the ego

Full textIn spite of its specificities, fathering in socioeconomic disadvantage has interested few studies whether substantial scientific literature highlighted how the father's role can be fundamental in the child's socioemotional development. Researches dealing with this subject, mainly North American, emphasize the importance of the role of breadwinner among fathers and note that the difficulties to support one's family are perceived by many of them as an obstacle to their fatherhood blossom. Whereas precariousness reaches more and more families in France, analysing the link between paternity and child development seems to be essential in underprivileged socioeconomic situation. Using a bioecological approach, our research aims to answer the following questions: How do young children evolving in disadvantaged families socioemotionally develop themselves? How do fathers experience their role and how do they get involved in their toddlers' lives? In this context, how do paternal involvement, fatherhood experience and quality of the couple relationship can stand for essential resources to the young child socioemotional development ? Our sample consists of 187 fathers of children aged 2 to 6 years old. They had to fill series of forms evaluating child internalizing and externalizing behaviors, father's involvement, paternal stress and sense of competence, dyadic adjustment as well as parenting alliance and family's socioeconomic situation. The results bring out fathers facing difficulties to provide for one's family are as much involved as wealthier fathers. On the other hand, they experience a higher stress and incompetence feeling which explain a substantial part of children's internalizing and externalizing problems. Furthermore, financial constraint perception plays a more central role in the explanation of how fathers feel their paternity and in child adjustment problems than do more objective markers of precariousness. All these elements point the importance to take into account psychological aspects of precariousness as well as of paternity while studying child wellbeing within disadvantaged families

Full textNowadays, a record number of households are runned by single fathers not only in France but also in most of western societies. Our research aims to explore how single fathers experience the domestic sphere, a traditionally feminized field, while accomplishing their role of fathers. These fathers are living a situation of cumulating roles: the role of the father and the role of the mother. We identify three main categories of single fathers depending on their strategies to copy and/or delegate the role of the mother. Household duties such as shopping, cooking and housekeeping in addition to the nurturing role are experienced by many of the respondents as constructing elements of their fatherhood. Moreover, we identify the role of the marketplace and consumption in building a new family, particularly by creating new relationships between single fathers and their children

Full textThis thesis focuses on how men become caregivers when they take a full time parental leave in France in the 2010s. It asks under which conditions fathers in a heterosexual relationship take a parental leave and how they are socialized while on leave.Based on an investigation mainly focused on interviews with fathers who took a full time educational parental leave and/or a full rate family benefit (the Complément de libre choix d’activité). A secondary investigation was made among other parents (also interviewed) : fathers on parental leave’s partners, mothers on parental leave, fathers who didn’t take parental leave and had children of preschool age, fathers on part time parental leave. The life paths of fathers on full time parental leave show that the leave-taking is mainly due to contextual factors, despite the impact of previous socializations. There is no single trajectory leading those men to take a parental leave, but rather a diversity of them. This diversity of paths affects leave time allocation between family, work-related and personal time. This diversity mustn’t hide a shared temporal socialization of men on parental leave (at least when they don’t use a full time childcare service). While on leave, parents learn or master skills and knowledge needed to be a caregiver. However, being a caregiver doesn’t mean the same responsibilities for mothers and fathers

Full textThis research contributes to the study of militant fathers groups, and of the controversies surrounding the organisation of post-separation parenthood, since the 1970s. The notion of "parenthood adrift" is proposed and deployed here in order, firstly, to signify the weakening of the usual reference points for the normative foundation and practical organisation of parenthood, which has freed itself from its traditional "anchor" of the conjugal relation; and, secondly, on a more individual level, to de scribe the manner in which certain parents can come to feel disoriented when confronted with the need to reorganise parental links following the breakup of a relationship, and to submit this reorganisation to the judgment of the courts. In this work, fathers movements are analysed as illustrative of the different paths that parental disappointments and demands can take following conjugal separation, and as sites for the discussion and for the reconfiguration of individual expenences

Full textThis research explores parenting, during the very first school years, in terms of child education, family functioning, and parents’ subjective experience.Data was collected on parents who mostly belonged to higher socio-professional categories, and whose children, aged 3 to 6, attended a state-run school in a Paris neighborhood that is part of the national high-priority educational network. Both quantitative and qualitative methodological tools have been used: a survey by questionnaire (n=173) and 34 interviews (24 mothers and 10 fathers), with a twofold analysis, one thematic and one relying on a discourse analysis software. It captured ways this population, which is relatively unstudied, responds to new educational standards and diverse influences, at the very beginning of the children’s school career. Results reveal that most mothers and fathers aspire to be “super-parents” and show a style of parenting based on control, aiming at optimizing child development. It includes control over the child - with positive parenting methods and stimulation practices typical of a “concerted education” (Lareau, 2003) -, self-management - to become a “better” parent -, environmental monitoring - through actors including the co-parent, at home, and the professionals and the child’s peers, at school -, organizing family life’s tight schedule... Yet, differences occur according to the sex of the parent, the sex of the child, his/her age and school level
