Cet article propose une analyse tripartite du thème du départ dans les romans de Dalembert. Départs volontaires, faux-départs et retours impossibles s’articulent tant dans la vie de ses personnages de fiction que dans l’Histoire avec la traversée de l’océan lors de la traite des esclaves. Nous nous intéresserons tout particulièrement à la récriture du voyage initiatique à l’œuvre dans L’Autre face de la mer, œuvre que nous pouvons définir comme « roman du départ » car il exploite le sujet sous différents aspects. Nous verrons que le voyage initiatique n’est que l’origine de tout départ et que chaque déplacement postérieur devient un écho de la traversée de l’océan des esclaves africains

L’article observe, au départ du chapitre sur « La vague » dans le roman Œdipe sur la route, la représentation de l’insularité, comprise comme lieu de résurgence d’un temps primitif, fondamentalement sacré. Si dans L’Enfant bleu, l’île est initiatique, labyrinthique, et paradisiaque, dans le roman œdipien, elle incarne les puissances conjointes de la mer et du rocher et permet d’appréhender la force originelle des éléments, qui favorise également une régénérescence.

Dans ses romans « historiques », Umberto Eco revisite, de manière postmoderne, le grand bassin sémantique des « merveilles » (mirabilia) de la littérature médiévale et de la Renaissance. Plus spécifiquement, dans L’Île du jour d’avant, il travaille sur la toile de fond de l’imaginaire cosmographique de l’âge des grandes « reconnaissances ». Les aventures du protagoniste suivent un trajet initiatique vers un « centre sacré » de la mappemonde, le méridien zéro. En même temps, les péripéties extérieures sont le corrélatif d’une évolution intérieure, que nous analysons avec les instruments de la psychologie analytique jungienne. La colombe orange qui jaillit de l’île au moment culminant du roman, ayant les caractéristiques d’un Phénix — oiseau de la rédemption et la renaissance — est un symbole de l’accomplissement du personnage, de l’atteinte de son soi mystique.

Résumé : Nous nous proposons dans cet article d'étudier et d'analyser les notions de voyage et de rêve dans l'œuvre de Jules Verne, plus particulièrement en nous penchant sur l'un de ses romans de Voyages extraordinaires, à savoir Un capitaine de quinze ans paru en 1878. Premièrement, nous visons à clarifier les notions de voyage et de rêve dans l’œuvre de Jules Verne, et deuxièmement, nous analyserons les constructions et les éléments par lesquels l’œuvre de Jules Verne et surtout Un capitaine de quinze ans peut être interprété comme un rêve de voyage. Dernièrement, pour arriver à des conclusions pertinentes, nous allons montrer que, le voyage, surtout initiatique du héros du roman, le rêve de voyager en sûreté vers une destination inconnue s’accomplissent. Cette contribution s'intéresse à la déconstruction de la quête du sens du personnage principal . L'histoire d'un homme qui quitte ce qui rappelle Fort McMurray lors d'une panne d'électricité transnationale pour aller retrouver son père malade, Le fil des kilomètres met en scène un voyage non-initiatique et une sorte de death drive dans un cadre qui devient de plus en plus dystopique au fur et à mesure que le protagoniste anonyme avance vers l'est d'un pays immense innommé. Hanté par un cauchemar qui rappelle le mythe grec du minotaure, le protagoniste se sent poursuivi en même temps qu'il poursuit une certaine plénitude fatale et irréalisable. Porteur d'un discours qui déconstruit de façon implicite l'idéal progressiste de l'Occident, ce roman d'anticipation joue sur la psychanalyse et laisse entendre qu'il est impossible de se débarrasser de la bête et de sortir du labyrinthe qu'incarne le monde. A la fois troublant et fort ironique, le roman constitue une sorte d'anti-road novel. Le fil conducteur du roman se défait et le roman finit par insister sur une certaine immobilité qui se rattache en fin de compte au retour éternel nietzschéen.

Résumé Siddhartha, pour grand orchestre en huit groupes, est l’une des partitions les plus audacieuses et complexes de Claude Vivier. L’oeuvre d’une trentaine de minutes se déploie à partir d’une mélodie unique qui se transforme continuellement par un processus d’expansion ou de contraction de ses intervalles constituants. L’oeuvre illustre de façon exemplaire l’influence des techniques de composition de Karlheinz Stockhausen sur la pensée de Vivier tout autant que la fascination de ce dernier pour certains procédés caractéristiques des musiques orientales tel le râga indien. Inspirée du célèbre roman de Hermann Hesse, l’oeuvre de Vivier transpose librement dans le domaine du sonore la trame narrative de cette allégorie initiatique au parfum exotique.

À première vue, le monologue intérieur et le roman d’aventures semblent antinomiques. Si le monologue intérieur explore l’intériorité d’un personnage, le roman d’aventures se présente plutôt comme le théâtre d’événements extérieurs procédant d’une confrontation, au moins implicite, avec la mort (Vladimir Jankélévitch). L’écriture d’un monologue intérieur donnant voix au personnage de Mrs. Aouda, héroïne silencieuse du roman Le tour du monde en 80 jours de Jules Verne, constituait une forme de pari : l’ajout d’un monologue intérieur à un roman d’aventures préexistant peut-il apporter un éclairage sur cette «entrée dans le domaine de la mort» (Simone Vierne) qui caractérise le parcours du personnage aventurier? Les objectifs de la recherche sont donc d’identifier les liens qui peuvent être tissés entre le monologue intérieur et l’aventure. Nous constaterons que la notion de roman initiatique permet de mettre en lumière le rôle essentiel de la mort dans le roman d’aventures, et ce même dans le cadre d’un récit fondé sur l’intériorité d’un personnage donné. La présente étude suggère que l’hybridation du roman d’aventures permettrait de révéler le processus de transformation du personnage en voie d’initiation, questionnant ainsi la pertinence des frontières implicites entre les notions d’aventure et d’«aventure intérieure».

Les narrations de jeunesse ont souvent pour thème le développement d’un jeune protagoniste ; elles racontent alors des expériences transformatrices qui constituent pour les petits héros autant de moments de passage, d’initiations. L’initiation jouait autrefois un rôle très important dans la vie humaine, marquant un passage d’âge socialement reconnu par la communauté toute entière. Toutefois, l’histoire de la société occidentale a vu progressivement disparaître ces moments de passage officiels, comme déjà en 1956 Mircea Eliade l’annonçait. Une fois l’initiation disparue, une compensation au niveau de la vie intérieure s’est rendue nécessaire, et le rêve apparaît un des lieux et des moments possibles pour cette compensation. Ainsi, à partir de Alice in Wonderland et The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, les fictions de jeunesse contemporaines ont souvent exploré le potentiel initiatique du rêve, qui fournit aux protagonistes une expérience liminaire marquant un avant et un après dans leurs vies. Dans nombreux romans, le protagoniste vit un rêve initiatique qui le conduit à travers un chemin de mort et de résurrection symboliques, et duquel il se réveille renouvelé. Cette thèse se propose donc de questionner le rêve en tant que seuil entre deux formes d’existence et catalyseur du passage d’âge dans les narrations de jeunesse européennes au XXIe siècle
Youth fiction often focus on the development of a young hero. Such stories tell us about transformative experiences which work as initiations. Initiation was once a very important moment in human life, marking a passage which was recognized by the community as a whole. However, in the history of Western society official rites of passage has gradually disappeared, as already in 1956 Mircea Eliade announced it. Since then, a compensation for the inner life has become necessary, and the dream has become one of the possible places and times for this compensation. Thus, from Alice in Wonderland and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, contemporary youth fiction has often explored the initiatory potential of dreams, which provides the protagonists with an introductory experience marking a turning point in their lives. In many novels, the protagonist lives an initiatory dream that leads him through a path of symbolic death and resurrection, from which he/she wakes up renewed. This thesis proposes to question the dream as a threshold between two forms of existence and a catalyst for initiation in contemporary European youth literature

C'est un pays imaginaire, secret, ferme, cache, avec son peuple et ses tresors. Les voyageurs y parviennent au terme d'un difficile voyage initiatique. Dans le roman francais, l'aventure complete et ordonnee du voyage au pays-perdu se rencontre pour la premiere fois dans candide de voltaire. Ces deux chapitres de l'eldorado sont le plus souvent oublies par les critiques alors qu'ils s'averent essentiels au sens de l'oeuvre. L'angoisse de l'aventure des lumieres s' exprime en cette parodie de la genese transformee et bouleversee par la structure d'un autre texte canonique de notre culture : l'allegorie de la caverne de la republique de platon. A partir de voltaire les pretentions du roman croissent regulierement en meme temps que la litterature s'efforce de prendre a la philosophie son bien; ainsi, d'auteur en auteur se poursuit une longue enquete : qu'est-ce que l'homme? nous suivons d'abord les romans "geographiques" (sade, g. Sand, e. Zola j. Verne, j. H. Rosny aine, o. Mirbeau, g. Leroux, alain-fournier, p. Benoit et ses emules); viennent ensuite les voyages "tournes vers l'interieur" (brasillach et surtout m. Proust); enfin des voyages mixtes ou le deplacement geographique coincide avec le devoilement d'une destinee (a. Bosco et m. Tournier). Les voyageurs, a la recherche de relations humaines plus authentiques, sont amenes a elucider leur rapport a l'enfance. Se retrouvent en ces romans : un gout prononce pour les jardins et les artifices; une fascination trouble pour les supplices et meme pour l'anthropophagie; un interet exclusif pour l'homme. Le recit de voyage au pays-perdu suit pas a pas la demarche obligee de toute recherche, car on peut parler d'une veritable structure anthropologique de la recherche. Echappant au "decousu" du picaresque, dans sa recherche sur l'homme, le roman reprit sans cesse le recit qui transcrit le plus immediatement la structure de recherche

Cette thèse se propose d'étudier le retour des rituels et des figures de l'initiation dans un corpus d'oeuvres parues entre 1970 et 1980, essentiellement dans des textes de Tournier, Gracq, Grainville, Faraggi, Louis-Combet. Apres une présentation de ces auteurs et des règles traditionnelles de l'initiation, on étudie les modalités narratives mises en oeuvre dans ces différents textes, le système des personnages, en particulier le déclin de la figure du maître ; l'espace initiatique fait aussi l'objet d'une exploration, et l'on s'attache à définir l'esthétique de ces différents textes comme une poétique du secret. La thèse replace ce courant littéraire dans la décennie 1970-80 en montrant dans quelle mesure ces oeuvres sont le reflet des mutations et des hantises de leur époque. S'inspirant des travaux de Bachelard, Eliade et Durand sur l'initiation et l'imaginaire, on a toujours le souci de rattacher cette constellation initiatique a la tradition de la littérature mythique au-delà des bornes temporelles de cette étude
This thesis intends to study the return of rituals and patterns of initiation in a series of works published between 1970 and 1980, essentially in texts written by Tournier, Gracq, Grainville, Farragi and Louis-Combet. These authors and the traditional rules of initiation are presented first, then one deals with narrative forms and characterization in the different texts -particular attention is given to the waning of the figure of the master. The initiatory space is also duly considered and one aims at defining the aesthetics of the texts as a poetry of secrecy. The thesis wishes to replace this literary trend in the decade 1970-80, showing how much these works reflect the mutations and fears of their time. Drawing inspiration from the works of Bachelard, Eliade and Durand on initiation and imagination, the author is ever at pain to link this initiatory constellation to a tradition of mythical literature, beyond the temporal bounds of his study

La thèse se présente en deux grandes parties. L'une aborde les aspects des cultes et des mystères célèbres à Eleusis. L'autre est une étude des représentations figurées. Cette recherche a pour but. Tout d'abord, de présenter un catalogue des plus complet possible, en respectant la chronologie, et en décrivant les scènes par catégories thématiques et par supports : céramiques peintes, statues, reliefs, terres cuites et monnaies pour l'art grec, sarcophages, mosaïques et monnaies pour l'art romain. Ensuite, mettre en évidence l'évolution et la fluctuation thématique et en expliquer les raisons. Enfin, aborder les diverses significations que peuvent revêtir certains thèmes, d'une époque à l'autre. L'étude aborde aussi plusieurs problèmes d'interprétations de scènes figurées, comme la présence de Dionysos dans le cercle des divinités éleusiniennes; la personnalité des divinités chthoniennes que sont Theos et Thea, et l'origine du syncrétisme des rites dionysiaques et demétriaques dans les monuments figurés de l'art romain.

Les Lumières allemandes voient l’émergence d’une réflexion anthropologique spécifique qui envisage l’homme dans sa totalité, en dépassant les dualismes entre l’âme et le corps, l’esprit et la sensibilité, la nature et la culture. Le présent travail se propose d’analyser dans cette perspective "Les Années de Voyage de Wilhelm Meister ou les Renonçants" de Johann Wolfgang Goethe, ultime roman de l’auteur qui se situe au début du XIXe siècle en Allemagne. Nous démontrons que ce roman témoigne d’une unité de sens sous-jacente à la multitude apparente au premier regard. En focalisant notre recherche sur l’analyse du chemin initiatique, nous pouvons dépasser les significations communément admises. Nous pouvons montrer que tout un nouvel univers pour la compréhension de cette œuvre hermétique de vieillesse, élaborée en même temps que Faust II, de 1825 à 1829, s’ouvre alors. Goethe observe et dépeint les difficultés existentielles de son époque et propose une solution pour l’individu, celle de tendre vers une indépendance ontologique intérieure face aux incertitudes du monde extérieur. Son projet éducatif consiste à faire l’union entre la quintessence de la philosophie hermétique, tradition millénaire (die alte Wahrheit), inhérente à un accès à la maîtrise initiatique et les besoins de l’époque moderne : la capacité au dépassement de soi, acquise par une individuation réussie et l’unité en soi-même, peut être mise au service du bien commun
The German Enlightenment witnessed the emergence of a particular kind of anthropological reflection considering man in its totality, going beyond the dualisms of soul and body, spirit and sensitivity, nature and culture. This work sets out to analyze Johann Wolfgang Goethe’s ultimate novel taking place in early nineteenth century Germany — Wilhelm Meister's Journeyman Years, or the Renunciants — through that perspective. It demonstrates how a sense of unity underlies the apparent multiplicity of this novel. Focusing my research on the study of the initiatory journey allowed me to transcend commonly accepted interpretations. Indeed, the reader is provided with a new context of understanding for this hermetic novel written in old age, in the same period as Faust II, from 1825 to 1829. Goethe observes and depicts the existential difficulties of his era and offers the following solution to the individual: one should strive towards an inner ontological independence in order to face the uncertainties of the external world. His educational project consists in uniting the quintessence of hermetic philosophy, a millenary tradition (“die alte Wahrheit”) inherent in initiatory masterhood, and the needs of the modern era. Notre thèse porte sur les " étapes " initiatiques, c'est-à-dire les moments capitaux, les nœuds du récit permettant à un héros de passer de l'état de profane à l'état d'initié. Cette thèse, appartenant à la littérature comparée, étudie ce thème chez quatre auteurs de quatre langues différentes ( l'allemand, l'anglais, le français et l'italien ), ayant vécu à cheval sur le dix-neuvième et le vingtième siècle, en le limitant à des œuvres narratives. Plus précisément, le corpus consiste en quatre romans de Huysmans, cinq romans de D'Annunzio, trois romans et deux nouvelles de Henry James et l'œuvre en prose entière de Hofmannsthal. L'époque de référence nous oblige à cerner d'abord la notion cardinale d'esthétisme et ses corollaires. Cette mise au point aide à dégager, dans la deuxième partie, le trajet individuel de chaque auteur se libérant progressivement de la chape esthétisante. Il s'avère qu'il existe deux types principaux d'initiation : l'amour et la connaissance, mais qu'elle peut échouer ( initiation négative ) ou aboutir à des résultats diamétralement opposés. Sont aussi apparues des constantes entourant les initiations, étudiées dans la dernière partie. En plus des êtres et objets initiatiques, nous analysons la façon dont le double, l'abîme, l'ascension, le labyrinthe, le jardin et la ville de Venise facilitent ou ralentissent l'accès du profane à une réalité supérieure
Our thesis treats of " initiatic stages ", that is to say the key moments, the knots of the narration allowing a hero to be moved up from the state of layman to the state of initiate. This thesis, belonging to comparative literature, studies this theme in four authors of four different languages ( the English, French, German and Italian languages ), who lived in both the nineteenth and the twentieth centuries, restricting the study to the narrative works. More precisely, the corpus is composed of four novels by Huysmans, five novels by D'Annunzio, three novels and two short stories by Henry James and the entire work in prose by Hofmannsthal. The reference age compells us first to define the important notion of estheticism and its corollaries. This basis helps to set off, in the second part, the personal evolvement of each author freeing oneself gradually from the burden of estheticism. It appears that there are two main kinds of initiation : love and knowledge, but that it may fail, being a negative initiation, or lead to diametrically opposite results. Several constants regarding initiation also appeared and are analysed in the last part. In addition to initiatic beings and objects, we study the way the double, the abyss, the ascension, the labyrinth, the garden and the town of Venice facilitate or delay the access of the layman to an upper reality

This chapter documents the lecosecambiano@roma project, a collaborative initiative among researchers, political leaders, celebrities, and representatives of LGBTQI associations in Italy to study and combat homophobic bullying in Roman secondary schools. The chapter describes the project and presents results from a study of the interventions in schools. The authors describe interactions with students, the public’s reactions, and the obstacles encountered in implementing this program across schools in Rome. The chapter also includes a discussion of key lessons from this project and plans for future strategies to create safe and supportive schools for LGBT and all students. Through a description of the lecosecambiano@roma project, the authors illuminate what homophobic bullying means in Italy, what obstacles may arise from planning anti-homophobic bullying projects, and why combating homophobic bullying is of paramount importance in the Italian context.

Abstract:
This chapter analyses the fourth characteristic of Roman political culture, the ambiguities that could occur in those situations where members of political institutions tried to exercise real power and influence decisions. As their power was nominal rather than real, strategies arose that could be used to force decisions regardless. The tensions surrounding imperial successions are fully visible in a report preserved in the Historia Augusta of the senate meeting that was held directly after Commodus’ death in AD 192. In the face of the impossibility of conducting proper debates about the most important issues, political institutions would increasingly resort to a strategy that was commonly employed by large theatre audiences: that of shouting collectively. As shouts expressed the collective consensus, they supposedly showed true feeling. Acclamations were therefore difficult to ignore. In the crisis-like atmosphere that surrounded imperial successions, the use of acclamations helped the senate to reclaim lost territory, frame issues in a way that buttressed its own position, and thus regain the initiative. It cornered the ruler to whom the acclamations were directed: he was placed in a position in which he could hardly ignore what was asked of him. Despite appearances, however, the acclamations constituted a dialogue rather than presenting the ruler with a fait accompli. Given the actual power relations, the ruler still had room to make his own decisions, no matter how great was the pressure that would be exerted.

The poster shows the results obtained in the project “Digital Music Analysis with the Techniques of the Music Encoding Initiative (MEI) using Anton Bruckner’s compositional studies as an example” (2017 to 2019). On the one hand, the project had the goal of presenting a digital edition of Anton Bruckner’s study book, which he produced during his lessons with Otto Kitzler from 1861 to 1863. An edition of the music in the textbook encoded with MEI and displayed using Verovio and the facsimile can be displayed simultaneously. On the other hand, an automated harmonic analysis of this music was to be designed. For this purpose, keys are recognized using the Krumhansl-Schmuckler algorithm that is based on a resource of pitch classes which are compared with reference values and thus their similarity is calculated. Based on this, chord recognitions are carried out, which are then linked to the keys in the last step and converted to a roman numeral analysis.

In the post-global economic and financial crisis, Europe is suffering from significantly low levels of investment. This applies both to national level in the individual Member States and to those with a supranational scope. For this reason, the EC tried to stimulate the development of any investment initiative through the Juncker Plan, which is based on three pillars: the European Fund for Strategic Investments, the European Investment Advisory Center and the European Investment Projects Portal, and third, improving the business environment by removing regulatory barriers to investment at national and European level. Policies in this direction will continue and build on over the period 2021-2027 through the InvestEU program, which aims to continue to support increased investment, innovation and job creation in Europe. The process of implementation of each such initiative directly affects the individual legal and natural persons as investors who enter different bond relations, which have both national and international dimension. The development of new investment products and instruments would be unthinkable without the Bank’s involvement as a major creditor in the implementation of investment projects. This fact shows that it is necessary to examine the legal guarantees for the protection of creditors in these relationships in case of possible threat the debtor to damage the creditor in case of unfavourable development of the respective investment initiative. This paper will justify the significance and the peculiarities of Paul’s claim as a means of protecting creditors in the context of a developing EU investment environment and its legal framework. This method of preventing the decline of the asset and / or the increase of the liability of the debtor’s property is characterized by extreme persistence over time as a legal institution that originated in the Roman era and has survived to the present without losing its significance.
