En “Episodio en la huerta…”, Jacinto, tras mes y medio de convalecencia, observa a sus vecinitos jugando a la ronda “El Milano”, al tiempo que recuerda cómo la jugaban también sus primos. Sobre todo, rememora las alucinaciones que la fiebre le ha producido, en las cuales se han sobrepuesto ciertas imágenes que la ronda le produce –el toro, el milano, la rosa, clavel– y las de la película La alondra y el milano, con lo que intenta develar el sentido erótico del juego. Así, antes que para ejecutar o representar la historia de la ronda, ésta se incorpora a su discurso para ayudarle a cobrar conciencia de su deseo.Dado que la ronda no es ejecutada, sino sólo citada, su aparición en el relato cumple con funciones que van más allá de los aspectos meramente actanciales. Mi tesis es que el hecho de citar la ronda, y, más que la ronda o la anécdota que cuenta la ronda, ciertos elementos –frases, imágenes, casi símbolos–, le permite al niño adquirir conciencia de la infancia perdida. No el juego, sino la citación para dar sentido a las alucinaciones que le produjo la fiebre, le permite al niño acceder a la revelación del misterio, su despertar a la adolescencia.Siguiendo la teoría narratológica y las investigaciones de Graciela Reyes sobre el fenómeno de la citación, en este trabajo analizo las profundas implicaciones del fenómeno de la citación de una ronda infantil.

The Rodna Mountains National Park is a protected areas established in 1990 as a national park with 47.000 ha, being one of the biodiversity hot spot at Carpathian level. The Rodna Mountains National Park Administration implemented in the period 2004-2017 more than 26 projects in partnership with 35 institutions (universities, NGOs, museums, county councils, mayors, ministries, national and international agencies, administrations and custodians of protected areas etc.). The total budget accessed was 4.403.500 euros in partnership with other stakeholders through more than 15 funding sources. Over 7.450 volunteers were involved in the Rodna Mountains National Park in various activities, with priority being the inventory, mapping and monitoring of biodiversity. Most volunteers come from the surrounding localities of the Rodna Mountains and only a small part of the countryside. The good practice model developed and implemented by the Rodna Mountains National Park Administration is supported through various sources of funding and is a complex process whose results are appreciated at national and international level.

In the Weddell Sea oceanographic data and numerical models demonstrate that Ice Shelf Water, one ingredient in the production of Weddell Sea Bottom Water, is formed by thermohaline interaction of High Salinity Shelf Water with the base of the Filchner-Ronne ice shelves. South of Berkner Island a passage with a water column thickness of about 300 m linking the Filchner and the Ronne regimes is important for the ventilation of the sub-ice shelf cavities. To simulate the flow we tested a two-dimensional thermohaline circulation model on several sections which approximate different geometries of a sub-ice shelf channel bounded by the ocean bottom and the ice shelf base. Temperature and salinity profiles measured in front of the Filchner-Ronne ice shelves are used to force the model. The results indicate that the circulation is sensitive to both salinity (density) forcing and depth of the shelf bottom prescribed at the open boundary representing the Ronne Ice Shelf edge. Where the shelf is shallow, 400 m deep, a closed circulation cell within the Ronne cavity acts like an ice pump with accumulation rates of marine ice at the ice shelf base up to 1.5 m y−1. The total outflow at the Ronne Ice Shelf edge is supported by an inflow from the Filchner regime. Where the shelf is deeper, a flow from the Ronne into the Filchner cavity develops if the bottom salinity at the Ronne Ice Shelf edge exceeds a critical value of 34.67. Seasonal variability imposed at both edges modifies the circulation pattern at the Filchner Ice Shelf edge such that the depth and magnitude of Ice Shelf Water outflow correspond with observations in the Filchner Depression.

AbstractA greenhouse experiment was carried out on lachenalia plants to determine the effect of different bulb planting terms (from October to January) on the growth and flowering of cultivars ‘Ronina’ and ‘Rupert’, in the natural light conditions. From every planted bulb emerged stems and flowers, but the time of flow–ering was dependent on the planting term and genotype. Irrespective of the planting term, plants of ‘Rupert’ were taller than those of ‘Ronina’. The planting term had an influence on the length of the inflorescence in ‘Rupert’, but did not affect in ‘Ronina’. The bulbs of ‘Rupert’ produced more than twice as many florets as ‘Ronina’ bulbs. Irrespective of the genotype, the bulbs planted the earliest produced the thinnest stems. The two tested cultivars were long-lasting flowering pot plants - their inflorescences remained decorative for over 20 days.

El panel delphi se utilizó como técnica de recolección de datos, y como técnicas de análisis de datos análisis de contenido (en la ronda 1) y estadística descriptiva (ronda 2). El estudio se aplicó entre noviembre de 2018 y febrero de 2019 a una muestra de 90 enfermeras pertenecientes a 6 instituciones de salud, después de obtener una validación positiva de los respectivos comités de ética.Resultados: Se obtuvo una tasa de respuesta del 52% (n = 47) en la ronda 1 y del 47% (n = 42) en la ronda 2. Se identificaron, en la ronda 1, en consenso en la ronda 2, 13 estrategias en relación con los niños que se dirigen principalmente a la transmisión de información, la participación familiar, el juego y el alivio del dolor. En cuanto a los padres, se identificaron 12 estrategias por consenso en la ronda 2.Discusión: La implicación familiar y la transmisión de información son áreas de intervención identificadas en ambos grupos.Conclusión: Fue posible investigar intervenciones de enfermería que pudieran promover un aumento en la satisfacción de niños y padres, enfocadas principalmente en la información y el apoyo y la participación familiar. Introduction: Satisfaction with nursing care in the area of hospitalized children is poorly studied. The investigation has been focused on satisfaction predictors and components therefore it is essential to identify strategies that promote satisfaction.Materials and method: A cross-sectional, observational and exploratory-descriptive study was carried out. It aims to identify the strategies described by nurses that contribute to increasing the satisfaction of school aged children and their parents with hospitalization. The delphi panel was used as a data collection technique and, as data analysis techniques, content analysis (in round 1) and descriptive statistics (round 2) were used. The study was applied between November 2018 and February 2019 to a sample of 90 nurses from 6 health institutions, after obtaining a positive feedback from the respective ethics commissions.Results: A response rate of 52% (n = 47) was obtained in round 1 and 47% (n = 42) in round 2. In round 1, 13 strategies were identified in relation to children, which reached consensus in round 2, being mainly directed to the transmission of information, family involvement, play and pain relief. Regarding parents, 12 strategies were identified by consensus in round 2. Discussion: Family involvement and the transmission of information are areas of intervention that have been identified in both groups.Conclusion: It was possible to determine nursing interventions that could promote an increase in the satisfaction of children and parents, focused primarily on information and family support and involvement. Introdução: A satisfação com cuidados de enfermagem, na área da criança hospitalizada, é pouco estudada. A investigação centra-se nos preditores e componentes da satisfação sendo essencial a identificação de estratégias que a promovam.Materiais e método: Efetivou-se um estudo de tipo transversal, observacional e exploratório-descritivo. Tem como objetivo identificar as estratégias descritas pelos enfermeiros que contribuem para o aumento da satisfação da criança em idade escolar e dos seus pais com a hospitalização. Utilizou-se enquanto técnica de recolha de dados o painel delphi e, como técnica de analise de dados, a análise de conteúdo (na ronda 1) e a estatística descritiva (ronda 2). O estudo foi aplicado entre novembro de 2018 e fevereiro de 2019 a uma amostra de 90 enfermeiros pertencentes a 6 instituições de saúde, após obtenção de parecer positivo das respetivas comissões de ética. Resultados: Obteve-se uma taxa de reposta de 52% (n=47) na ronda 1 e de 47% (n=42) na ronda 2. Foram identificadas, na ronda 1, e que obtiveram consenso na ronda 2, 13 estratégias em relação às crianças sendo principalmente direcionadas à transmissão de informação, envolvimento familiar, brincar e alívio da dor. Em relação aos pais foram identificadas com consenso 12 estratégias na ronda 2. Discussão: O envolvimento familiar e a transmissão da informação são áreas de intervenção que foram identificadas em ambos os grupos.Conclusão: Foi possível apurar intervenções de enfermagem passíveis de promover um aumento da satisfação das crianças e pais, focadas fundamentalmente na informação e no suporte e envolvimento familiar.

Abstract:
Lachenalia is a poorly known genus of ornamental bulbous plants from South Africa with a huge floricultural potential. The paper discusses in vivo multiplication with leaf cuttings of Lachenalia cv. ‘Namakwa’, ‘Romaud’, ‘Ronina’ and ‘Rupert’. Mature leaves were collected from non-flowering donor plants. Each leaf was halved to make proximal and distal leaf cuttings. ‘Ronina’ distal leaf cuttings produced the lowest number of bulblets (5.7 per cutting), while ‘Namakwa’ proximal leaf cuttings turned out the most productive (10.5 bulblets per cutting). The bulblets produced by cv. ‘Namakwa’ distal leaf cuttings were the lightest (0.3 g per bulblet), and those formed on cv. ‘Ronina’ proximal leaf cuttings were the heaviest (0.9 g per bulblet). In general, the weight of individual bulblets ranged from 0.1 to 1.2 g. Irrespective of the cutting type, the leaves of cv. ‘Namakwa’ produced the greatest number of bulblets, and the leaves of ‘Ronina’ yielded the heaviest bulblets. With no dependence on their genotype, proximal leaf cuttings were advantageous in terms of total number of generated bulblets and their quality (weight, diameter).

“As a Smart City district evolves, and its success as a business location of choice grows, we need to ensure that mobility challenges are addressed for all communities. Smart technologies are a major factor.” – Ronan Herron Ronan Herron had recently been appointed the Smart Dublin Coordinator with responsibility for Smart Sandyford and was travelling to its launch on the modern Luas light rail system. Ronan found himself marvelling at the changes to the Sandyford area since he first started working in the Council twelve years earlier: Gone was the old industrial landscape with pockets of sad-looking housing estates, and in its place was a vibrant business district with multiple household name multinational companies, nestled with modern residential areas. Sandyford was a short distance from Dublin city centre but just ten short years prior, few would have anticipated the economic and business transformation that had overcome this once maligned and side-lined district of Dublin. While Ronan had managed to get a seat on the packed Luas tram, he noticed multiple congested areas in and around the route to the launch. Clearly, this had become a very popular district indeed! Since starting in his post, Ronan had observed that the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council (DLR), responsible for Smart Sandyford, was very excited about the future for the Sandyford district, anticipating (and indeed, planning for) significant growth in the number of businesses moving there, and additional residential areas. Ronan contemplated what impact this was likely to have on on-going mobility for everyone living and working in the district. Given his background in smart technologies, and Smart Sandyford’s position as a part of Smart Dublin, Ronan naturally found himself contemplating technology as a means to address Sandyford’s growing mobility challenges. He was on his way to launch Smart Sandyford, and surely, smart technology could contribute to solutions to those challenges. This Smart District offered a means to answer some of the pressing questions around mobility for Dublin: How might technology deployment improve mobility services? How would mobility solutions impact all stakeholders in the community? Can technology alleviate the impact of transport on the environment? How would the data needed to enable smart mobility be collected and analysed? What data would even be needed?
