The Ro ribonucleoprotein complex (Ro RNP) was initially described as an autoimmune target in human diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren's syndrome. In Xenopus and human cells, its general structure is composed of one major protein of 60 kDa, Ro60, that binds to one of four small RNA molecules, designated Y RNAs. Although no function has been assigned to the Ro RNP, Ro60 has been shown to bind mutant 5S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) molecules in Xenopus oocytes, suggesting a role for Ro60 in 5S rRNA biogenesis. Ro60 has also been shown to participate in the regulation of the transla

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) results from the abnormal growth of blood vessels in the vascular bed supporting the developing retina. Estimated to cause up to 500 new cases of blindness in the U.S. each year, ROP affects primarily infants born at less than 1,500 g. Although its etiology is not well understood, ROP is thought to occur as a result of a complex interaction between oxygen and vascular growth factors. ABSTRACT At present, with the continuous development of unconventional oil and gas exploration and development, horizontal wells, as an important means of unconventional oil and gas exploitation, have attracted much attention from drilling teams and oil field companies. However, the cost of horizontal well drilling is relatively high, so more targeted construction should be carried out according to the characteristics of horizontal well drilling. Therefore, rate of penetration (ROP) prediction of horizontal wells is extremely important. The current ROP prediction models of horizontal wells mai

ABSTRACT: Accurate prediction of rate of penetration (ROP) during petroleum drilling is crucial to optimize and guide field operations. However, due to the complex nonlinear relationship between drilling parameters and ROP, traditional empirical models often struggle to accurately predict ROP. This study introduces an automated machine learning (AutoML) for ROP prediction and utilizes SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) to interpret the prediction results. The workflow framework based on this collaborative prediction strategy enables automated processing of data and automatic stacking ensembl

In this paper, the progressive modeling approach and the Reconfiguration and Operation Planning (ROP) problem are introduced. Progressive Modeling (PM) is a forward-looking multi-disciplinary modeling approach that has been developed to modernize the modeling process of today’s complex industrial problems and create pragmatic solutions for many of them. Many principles and foundations of progressive modeling will be presented while utilizing the reconfiguration and operation planning problem (ROP) as a demonstrating application. The ROP problem describes a new approach of reconfiguration and o

Motivated by medical terminology applications, we investigate the decidability of an expressive and prominent DL, SHIQ, extended with role inclusion axioms of the form RoS⊑T. It is well-known that a naive such extension leads to undecidability, and thus we restrict our attention to axioms of the form RoS⊑R or SoR⊑R, which is the most important form of axioms in the applications that motivated this extension. Surprisingly, this extension is still undecidable. However, it turns out that restricting our attention further to acyclic sets of such axioms, we regain decidability. We present a tableau

Bovine babesiosis caused by Babesia bovis continues to be a significant deterrent to global livestock production. Current control methods have both biological and technical drawbacks that have stimulated research on improved methods of vaccination. This BARD project has focused on characterization of candidate Babesia bovis vaccine antigens located in the apical complex, a unique group of subcellular organelles - including rhoptries, micronemes, and spherical bodies - involved in the invation of erythrocytes. Spherical bodies and rhoptries were partially purified and their contents characteriz

A 2-D Phase-Field coupled Monte Carlo-Potts model, using PhasePot of vertically upwards continuous casting (VUCC) of oxygen free copper (OFCu) was investigated to reveal the grain growth morphology and the withdrawal parameters required to produce a high-quality homogeneity within the grain structure. A dynamic moving reference frame was used as an approximation to the complex withdrawal parameters. The simulation results were validated alongside cast rod grain structures produced under the same cast parameters, at Rautomead Ltd on a RS080 VUCC machine.

Wilt and crown rot are two important diseases of tomato caused by different strains ("formae speciales") of the fungus, Fusarium oxysporum. While both pathogens are members of the same fungal species, each differs genetically and resistance to the diseases is controlled by different genes in the plant. Additionally, the formae speciales differ in their ecology (e.g. optimal temperature of disease development) and epidemiology. Nevertheless, the distinction between these diseases based on symptoms alone may be unclear due to overlapping symptomatology. We have found in our research that the amb
