Abstract:
Ground reaction force (GRF) data collected and synchronized with film data to determine peak GRF and calculate moments about ankle and knee during rope skipping. Two, five minute conditions were analyzed for 10 subjects. Condition 1 was set rate and style. Condition 2 was subjects' own rate and style. Means and standard deviations were reported for peak GRF, ankle and knee moments. One way ANOVAs reported no significant difference between conditions for variables measured. Efficiency and nature of well phased impacts during rope skipping may be determined by combination of GRF, similarities in magnitude and direction of joint moments, and sequencing of segmental movements. Technique and even distribution of force across articulations appear more important than magnitudes of force produced by given styles.

Skipping exercise is a traditional Chinese sport. Furthermore, that is one of the healthiest exercises worldwide. The purpose of this study was to examine the strategy differences between the Triple Under, the Double Under and the Single Under. The subjects were six male junior high school students from a rope skipping team. The movements were measured by Vicon 3D motion capture system(100Hz), BTS Free EMG (1000Hz), and a force plateform (1000Hz). MATLAB 7.0.1 for smoothing and processing data. The differences among different circles were compared by dependent One-way ANOVA (α =. 05). The result were as follows:(1) Ground reaction force increased as the number of swings under the feet increased and the times of the body weight increased as well.(2) By excuting the Single Under, ankle strategy was adapted. The Double Under adapted the knee, and ankle joint strategy. The hip, knee, ankle joint strategies were applied to Triple Under. (3)The Triple Under adapted the strategy of increasing the height of the jump and decreased the speed of the wrist-swing. When doing the Double Under, the jump height was increased and wrist-swinging speed strategy is adapted.(4) The order of the upper limb muscles EMG activation timing were wrist extensor muscles, biceps brachii, extensor carpi, radialis (ECR),flexor carpi, radialis (FCR) and triceps brachii. (5) The RMS value of the gastrocnemius muscle is around 100% MVC. the Recruitment Rectus Femoris of three cycle achieve significance differences. (P <.05).

This purpose of the study was to explore the influence of rope skipping training on second graders’ coordination and balance ability. The subjects of the study were 48 second graders, randomly assigned to either experimental group (rope jumping training, 24 students) or control group (reading training, 24 students). The experimental group conducted rope skipping training (one hop one round)for 8 weeks( twice a week, 30 minutes every time) in order to investigate the influence of rope skipping training on second graders’ coordination and balance ability. The subjects were tested for coordination ability, static balance ability( one-leg standing balance with eyes closed ) and dynamic balance (balance beam)before and after the training. An independent t test, paired-samples t test and one-way ANOVA were used to compare the differences between the two groups. In coordination ability, both groups improved in the pretests and posttests, but the scores in the experimental group didn’t show the significant difference. Therefore rope skipping training for 8 weeks didn’t have significant benefits on second graders’ coordination ability. In static balance ability, both groups improved in the pretests and posttests, but the analysis from one-way ANCOVA (F=1.955, P=.169) indicated that the improving on experimental group was not significant(P>.05). In static balance ability, both groups were not improved in the pretests and posttests and posttestsbut the analysis from one-way ANCOVA (F=1.338, P=.254) also indicated the improving on experimental group was not significant(P>.05). Aa a result, the study suggested the further research add more subjects and extent experiment time to discover other effects of rope skipping training on students coordination and balance ability.

The main purpose of this study is to inquire into the effects of rope skipping teaching on the health related physical fitness of junior high school students. Sixty-seven grade seven students in two classes of Wen-Lin junior high school in Miao-Li County were the experiment participators (thirsty-one boys and thirsty-six girls). With two physical education classes every week, the experiment maintained a ten-weeks rope skipping and general physical education teaching. The pre-test included every health related physical fitness examination was conducted before the teaching; therefore the homogeneous of the classes had been realized from the result. Then followed by the post-test, it further analyzed the effects of rope skipping and general teaching on the health related physical fitness. The examination of health related physical fitness contains body composition, flexibility, muscular strength, explosiveness and cardiopulmonary capacity. The result of this study is presented with the data of descriptive statistics, dependent and independent samples t-test. Then according to the statistic result, the analysis of rope skipping teaching on the health related physical fitness in junior high school is discussed. The findings are as follows: 1.The constant rope skipping is remarkably helpful to body flexibility. 2. In the part of explosiveness test, the performance has fallen behind. Thus this shall be noted for related studies afterwards 3. The involvement of constant rope skipping is more remarkably helpful to the enforcement of cardiopulmonary capacity than the general activities of physical education courses. As a result, this study suggests that rope skipping can be appropriately added to the teaching activities of physical education in order to improve the ability of student health related physical fitness and to enhance the variety of physical education courses.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of the sport of skipping rope on the basic fitness of elementary-school badminton players, in the hope of understanding how it affects the muscular strength, explosive strength, cardiopulmonary stamina, suppleness, agility, and balance among the categories of fitness of elementary-school badminton players, both in the case of using the sport of skipping rope as an auxiliary training and in the case of undergoing training in badminton technique only. The subjects of this study are fourth-grade, fifth-grade, and sixth-grade students on the badminton team of Hades Elementary School, with 10 male students and 8 female students assigned to the control group, in accordance with age and gender. During the experiment, the former underwent training in skipping rope in the morning and trained in badminton technique in the afternoon, while the latter underwent training in badminton technique during the two periods of time, Both before and after the experiment, tests of dynamic balance were conducted in such categories as gripping strength of the habitually used hand, gripping strength of the non-habitually used hade, leg muscular strength, standing jump, modified step, the body bending forward in a sitting posture, Burpee, standing on one leg, and changing postures. After the twelve-week experiment, independent samples were used to verify the homogeneity of the two groups and the post-experiment differences between them; dependent samples were used to verify the variations before and after the experiment; rates of progress were used to compare the progress of the two groups, with the significant level set as =.05. the research resulted in the following findings: Ⅰ. During the same period of training time, the addition of the training in skipping rope had no effect on the basic fitness of elementary-school badminton players. Ⅱ. Except for gripping strength and suppleness, either the addition of the training in skipping rope or undergoing the mere training in technique could significantly stamina, and the development of agility and balance. Ⅲ. Except for suppleness, the addition of the training in skipping led to better rates of progress that those achieved by players who just trained in technique. Therefore, it is proposed that under the permission of enough badminton courts, elementary-school badminton coaches provide training in badminton technique only; with insufficient courts, they divide players into two groups, with some players undergoing training in technique, while at the same time the rest train in skipping rope at other suitable locations, thus similarly promoting the significant development of their basic fitness.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts on rope skipping exercise training for sixth grade students below moderate physical fitness, in the hopes of improving their physical fitness to above moderate level as well as the learning ability and quality of health after rope skipping exercise intervention. The aim is to examine improvements on cardiopulmonary function, instantaneous force, muscle endurance, and flexibility of sixth grade students below moderate physical fitness after rope skipping exercise training. The experimental subjects are 48 students from the 6th grade of Tainan Municipal Happy Elementary School, who had failed at least one item of the physical fitness test when 5th grade. These students were randomly divided into two groups---24 students in the experimental group and 24 students in the control group, 48 students in total. The experimental group was administered thirty-minute rope skipping exercise three times a week, for ten weeks; the maximum heart rate (HRmax) of the exercise intensity is 60% - 80%. The control group was not given any exercise intervention during the experimental period. Subjects are given tests of physical fitness mentioned above before and after the experiments. The data is analyzed by t-test for independent sample at alpha .05 to test the homogeneity in the pre-test of these two groups; then analyzed by t-test for non-independent sample to compare the heterogeneity between the pre and post test. This research reveals that the experimental group showed noticeable changes in all items of physical fitness after ten-week exercise training. As for the control group, there was no change in all items of physical fitness. In comparing the two groups, the experimental group did far better in cardiopulmonary functions, instantaneous force, muscle endurance and flexibility than the control group; the result showed noticeable changes as well. Otherwisely, the physical fitness of thirteen students in the experimental group was improved to above moderate level after ten-week rope-skipping training. From the above results a conclusion is drawn that for sixth grade students below moderate physical fitness, after ten-week rope skipping exercise training, their physical fitness showed noticeable improvement, indicating that rope skipping exercise does great benefit for improving the physical fitness of sixth grade students below moderate physical fitness.
