Abstract:
Despite the negative effects of fossil fuels on the environment, these remain as the primary contributors to the energy sector. In order to mitigate global warming risks, many countries aim at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Bioenergy crops are being used as a substitute for fossil fuels and short rotation forestry is a prime example. In order to examine the sustainability of energy crops for fuel, typical European short rotation forestry (SRF) biomass, willow (Salix spp.) and poplar (Populus spp.) are examined and compared to rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) in respect to various aspects of so

Short Rotation Forestry (SRF) has been introduced to the UK as a method to increase biomass production. However, some SRF species have raised concerns about potential impacts on the environment. Earthworms have direct impacts on the soil biogeochemistry of SRF systems, and the tree species can impact on the associated earthworm community. Abstract:
This paper investigates the optimal harvesting decisions of a fire-exposed forest stand. An economic model is used to determine analytical continuous-time solutions for theoptimal schedule of thinnings and clearcuts. We offer new results by proposing that, while thinnings should be anticipated in the presence of fire hazard, forest rotations donot necessarily need to be shortened and may, under certain conditions, be lengthened. In fact, for sufficiently high levels of risk, clearcut forestry can be suboptimal, leading tothe adoption of a continuous cover regime.

碩士
國立臺灣科技大學
資訊工程系
105
In recent years, data volume is getting larger along with the fast development of Internet technologies. Some datasets contain a huge number of labels, dimensions and data points. As a result, some of them cannot be loaded by typical classifiers, and some of them require very long and unacceptable time for execution. Extreme multi-label classification is designed for these challenges. Extreme multi-label classification differs from traditional multi-label classification in a number of ways including the need for lower execution time, training at an extreme scal

Attributing an economical value to forest carbon sequestration might represent is an important strategy to achieve such goals. Such a policy is likely to impact optimal rotation periods in forestry management. However accounting for carbon sequestration alone is not sufficient; the lower surface albedo of forests compared to converted land causes a higher grade of heat absorption, which negatively affects the policy value of forests. Many scholars have successively proposed improved versions, and in some fields, there have been application results. However, compared with other algorithms such as random forests, the disadvantage is that the calculation is complicated and time-consuming, the improvement of precision is quite limited as well. This research work proposes a classifier ensemble method combining rotation forest and AdaBoost, which is called Random Rotboost. In the processing of training data, the data diversi
