Abstract:
A Jeffcott rotor consists of a disc at the centre of an axle supported at its end by bearings. A bolted Jeffcott rotor is formed by two discs, each with a shaft on one side. The discs are held together by spring loaded bolts near the outer edge. When the rotor turns there is tendency for the discs to separate on one side. This effect is more marked if the rotor is unbalanced, especially at resonance speeds. The equations of motion of the system have been developed with four degrees of freedom to include the rotor and bearing movements in the respective axes. These equations which include non-l

Rotor-dynamic stability is a very important subject impacting the design, control, maintenance, and operating safety and reliability of rotary mechanical systems. As rotor-dynamic nonlinearities are significantly more prominent at higher rotary speeds, the demand for better and improved performance achievable through higher speeds has rendered the use of a linear approach for rotor-dynamic analysis both inadequate and ineffective. To establish the fundamental knowledge base necessary for addressing the need, it is essential that nonlinear rotor-dynamic responses indicative of the causes of n

碩士
逢甲大學
航太與系統工程學系
105
Compared with another type of helicopters, the coaxial rotor has the advantages of greater lift capacity, higher maneuverability and more compact. Thus, it is allowed to operate in places where others cannot. Consequently, this study conducts numerical analysis to learn the aerodynamic and aeroacoustics characteristics of the coaxial rotor in more detail and then the simulated results are validated with the experimental acoustic data. In this research, the aerodynamics characteristics of a single rotor, coaxial rotor and coaxial rotor with fuselage are analyze

碩士
國立雲林科技大學
電機工程系
107
This thesis proposes a novel design of a three-phase energy-saving induction motor with wound rotor using the equivalent circuit method and Taguchi method as the analytical basis. The equivalent circuit parameter values of the induction motor are calculated from its mechanical structure sizes, then according to the electric machinery theory, the electrical characteristics of the induction motor are analyzed by the equivalent circuit. This is followed by adjusting mechanical structure size, such as core slot angles, wire diameters and air-gap length to observe

Abstract:
The present work investigates the nature of dry-friction whip and whirl through experimental and numerical methods. Efforts of the author, Dyck, Pavalek, and coworkers enabled the design and construction of a test rig that demonstrated and recorded accurately the character of multi-mode dry-friction whip and whirl. These tests examined steady state whip and whirl characteristics for a variety of rub materials and clearances. Results provided by the test rig are unparalleled in quality and nature to those seen in literature and possess several unique characteristics that are presented and discu

In these bearing systems, the fluid hydrodynamic bearings with low noise, high precision, low vibration, long lifetime, and suitable running in the long time operation are more commonly be used in the heavy load system or the long time operation systems. The load capacity of the fluid hydrodynamic bearings as starting or operating at low speed are very small. The phenomenon of dry rub in the bearing and journal will occur and would damage the rotor system. Therefore, in this st

Abstract:
Torsional vibrations occur due torelative oscillatory motions superposed on the mean rotation. Rotating systems at running speed near the natural frequencies are prone to excessive angular deflections and hence large stresses which can cause rotating components failure or premature fatigue failures. The objective of the present work is to study the torsional vibration characteristics of multi-rotor and gear-branched systems suing finite element method. Finite element method (FEM) is a numerical technique based on principle of discretization to find approximate solutions to engineering problems
