Abstract:

The alpha decay half-lives of even–even and even–odd Platinum (Pt) nuclei have been studied within the Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM). The present study is restricted to even–even nuclei with [Formula: see text]–198. The results are compared with other calculations such as the Semi-empirical formula (SemFIS) from Poenaru et al. based on fission theory of alpha decay, the Viola–Seaborg (VS), Royer (R) and Brown formulae. Also, the alpha decay half-lives have been calculated using the Scaling law of Brown (SLB), the Universal Decay Law (UDL) of Qi et al., the Scaling Law of Horoi et al. (SLH), and Akrawy–Dorin formula (ADF) of Akrawy and Poenaru, which are the Royer modified formula for alpha decay half-live by adding asymmetry term.

Abstract:

Éminent naturaliste du XIXesiècle, Charles Darwin publie en 1859 ce qui s’avérera être un des textes les plus fondamentaux des sciences de la vie :On the origin of species by means of natural selection, or the preservation of favoured races in the struggle for life(ouOS). Cet ouvrage pose les assises conceptuelles de sa théorie de l’évolution (TE). Or, malgré la grande portée de l’oeuvre, ses traductions en français restent largement inexplorées, en traductologie comme en histoire des sciences. Les quelques travaux antérieurs sur le sujet se sont concentrés sur les traductions de Clémence Royer, à qui l’on reproche d’avoir radicalisé la TE darwinienne en transformant la prudence de Darwin en certitude. Présentement, c’est pourtant la traduction d’Edmond Barbier (1876), et non celles de Royer, qui fait autorité ; trois autres traducteurs, deux contemporains de Darwin et un moderne, se sont également attaqués à l’OS. Nous nous proposons donc de comparer ces différentes traductions, avec leur texte original, mais également entre elles, sur la base de marqueurs de modalité épistémique précis qui atténuent le degré de certitude d’un énoncé et qui sont très caractéristiques du style particulièrement précautionneux de Darwin. Nous voulons ainsi déterminer comment ces autres traducteurs ont rendu la modalité du texte anglais et montrons que la version la plus moderne est la plus proche de l’original. Enfin, de manière inattendue, la traduction de Royer, depuis longtemps décriée par la critique, se rapproche plus des traductions de Moulinié et de Barbier qu’on ne l’anticipait.

Abstract:

The half-life of a parent nucleus of Astatine isotopes [Formula: see text] decaying via alpha emission is investigated by employing Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM) using the WKB barrier penetration probability and other different analytical and semiempirical formulae of Royer, AKRE, Akrawy, RoyerB, MRoyerB, MRenB, SemFIS, VS and SLB. In the calculation of Alpha decay (AD) half-life the available experimental and theoretical [Formula: see text]-values with the total alpha kinetic energy have been considered. The behavior of hindrance factor with the variation of mass numbers of parent nuclei for isotopes in the range [Formula: see text] and the effect of magic number at closed shells were investigated. Through the comparison of obtained results from the systematics with the experimental data, the prediction of SemFIS formula was the best among the studied ones where it shows the minimum standard deviation of 0.829881.

Abstract:

In this paper, alpha decay half-lives of spherical nuclei in the range [Formula: see text] are studied by considering the Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM) and calculating the alpha particle preformation factor. Comparisons are made to existing data in the literature. The half-lives are compared to the experimental values and also with the existing theoretical models, the analytical formula of Royer (R) and also within the modified analytical formula of Royer (MR) and New Akrawy–Poenaru Formula (AKRE) by Akrawy and Poenaru and the semi-empirical model based on fission theory (SemFIS) of Poenaru et al., the Universal Decay Law (UDL) of Qi et al., the Scaling Law of Brown (SLB), the Scaling Law of Horoi et al. (SLH). Compared with the experimental alpha half-lives, it can be found that the half-lives obtained using our formalism is in good agreement with the experimental data.

Abstrack: Wireless usage is no longer only able to send data or files, power delivery or power transfer can be applied using wireless networking technology system or also called wireless energy transfer. Research purposes, to make prototype power wireless transfer by using royer oscilator circuit, and turning the load to the maximum with the minimum possible input. Using the 9.8 V input from Trafo 5A and changing the capacitor value of 6.8nf / 100v x10 C on the transmitter (coil transmitter bigger than coil receiver). Installation of each capacitor with a distance of 7 cm, give effect to maximal value increase, with Voltage 14.2 V, current 0.02 A, power 0.284 W and Decrease Freq 610.5 KHz. As for the distance of 12 cm also get a maximum value of 11.8 V voltage, current 0.02 A, and a decrease in Frequency 614 Khz. The greatest efficiency at both distances is obtained, and . To turn the load to the maximum (7 lamps used 7 W lamps with a total load 28 W), PWT connected to USB 5V, and connected to battery and booster converter circuit so the distance is 12 cm, obtained input voltage 2.2 and output voltage 47.8 V, with output power of 1.43 W, current 0.03 A, and percentage increase of 2072 voltage. Installation of capacitors affects the voltage values, current, distance and power on the receiver. To light a large load, used a series of booster converter to power 28 W load, with 3.7 V input on battery packed on USB 5V, type TP-4056. Dengan menggunakan input 9.8 V dari Trafo 5A dan perubahaan nilai kapasitor 6,8nf / 100v x10 C pada bagian transmitter (coil transmitter lebih besar dari coil receiver). Pemasangan tiap-tiap kapasitor dengan jarak 7 cm, memberi dampak peningkatan nilai maksimal, dengan Tegangan 14.2 V, arus 0.02 A, daya 0.284 W dan Penurunan Freq 610.5 KHz. Sedangkan untuk jarak 12 cm juga mendapatkan nilai maksimal tegangan 11.8 V, arus 0.02 A, dan penurunan Frequensi 614 Khz. Efisiensi terbesar pada kedua jarak tersebut didapat, dan . Untuk menyalakan beban secara maksimal (beban digunakan lampu 7 W sebanyak 4 lampu dengan total beban 28 W), PWT dihubungkan ke USB 5V, dan terhubung ke baterai dan rangkaian booster converter, sehingga jarak 12 cm, didapat input tegangan 2.2 dan keluaran tegangan 47.8 V, dengan daya keluaran 1.43 W, arus 0.03 A, dan Persentasi kenaikan tegangan 2072. Pemasangan kapasitor mempengaruhi nilai tegangan, arus,jarak dan daya pada receiver. Untuk menyalakan beban yang besar, digunakan rangkaian booster converter untuk menyalakan beban 28 W, dengan input 3.7 V pada baterai yang dicas pada USB 5V, jenis TP-4056. A comparative study on the competition of alpha decay versus spontaneous fission of superheavy nuclei (SHN) reveals that around eight isotopes ([Formula: see text]122) survive fission and have alpha decay channel as the prominent mode of decay and hold the possibility to be synthesized in the laboratory. The alpha decay half-lives and spontaneous fission half-lives of SHN with [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]–306, with [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]–300, and with [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]–297 are also studied. The present study will be useful in the synthesis of superheavy elements [Formula: see text] by using the actinide based reactions with stable projectiles heavier than [Formula: see text]Ca.

Abstract:

Appendiceal pathology’s management has benefited in recent years from the advent of laparoscopic surgery. This study is to make a preliminary assessment of laparoscopic management of acute and complicated appendicitis in children after a few months of practice at the University Hospital Albert Royer, Dakar. This is a retrospective study of 22 cases of patients, all operated on by the same surgeon. The parameters studied were age, sex, clinical data and laboratory features, radiological data, and results of surgical treatment. The mean age of patients was 9.5 years with a male predominance. The series includes 14 cases of acute appendicitis and 8 complicated cases. Appendectomy anterograde is practiced in 81% of cases. Appendectomy was associated with peritoneal wash in 17 patients including 9 cases of acute appendicitis. Drainage of Douglas pouch is performed in 2 patients with complicated appendicitis; the average production was 300 cc of turbid liquids and any complications were not founded. An abscess of Douglas pouch is noted in 2 patients with complicated appendicitis undrained. These Douglas abscesses were treated medically. No conversion of laparotomy was performed in the series. After an average of 8 months no other problems were noted.

Abstract:

A set of empirical formulae have been proposed to calculate the [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives from ground state to ground state transitions of 356 nuclei classified to different set of e–e, e–o, o–e and o–o isotopes. Within these formulae, modification of the previous set of Royer expressions were done by introducing three different physical terms, including the orbital angular momentum and isobaric asymmetry factors. The predicted [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives compared with those adopted by former proposed models for the depended experimental data, and significant improvements were noticed for all the studied sets of isotopes.

Authors present a new tool: the baby bird tale, taken from Tales Test ( Royer, 1978 ), which can be used to diagnose separation anxiety disorder. They compared the responses of a control group of 120 children divided into three subgroups (4–6, 6–11, and 11–13 years of age), with the responses of a clinical group of 80 children suffering from separation anxiety disorder, matched for age, sex and parental socioeconomic status. Results show the discriminating value of the instrument and confirm the existence of an insecure attachment and of the inability to mentally elaborate separation anxiety among children from the clinical subgroup.
