Abstract:
How individuals interpret a relationship social comparison is important to their relationship quality. We asked whether relationship social comparison interpretations (RSCIs) differ from relationship attributions. Individuals were randomly assigned to compare their dating relationship to a friend’s relationship that was doing better (upward comparison) or worse (downward comparison) than their own. Individuals then completed measures for the RSCI and attributions for their own relationship success/failure (Study 1) and attributions for their friend’s relationship success/failure (Study 2). Correlations indicated that the RSCI and attributions were not isomorphic. Simultaneous regressions indicated that the RSCI was a more consistent predictor of relationship quality than were attributions. How individuals interpret social comparisons not just the comparison direction should be studied.

Abstract:
To evaluate the interaction of year x variety, year x tillage method and year x fertilization on the grain yield and root system capacity (RSC) of spring barley, we ran polyfactorial field trials in agroecological conditions of a warm corn production area in Slovakia, at Malanta, in 2009 and 2010. The RSC measurements were done using LCR - meter at a frequency of 1 kHz and they took place in four growth stages: at leaf development in the stage of four leaves (RSC1), in full tillering (RSC2), in the stage heading (RSC 3) and at the stage of ripening (RSC4). The values of grain yield, RSC1, RSC2, RSC3, RSC4 reached in 2009 comparison to 2010 were significantly lower. The highest yield in 2009 was reached by variety Marthe (4.49 t.ha-1) and by variety Bojos (7.19 t ha-1) in 2010. The highest values of RSC in observed growth stages were achieved by variety Bojos in 2009, and in 2010 also besides RSC1. Within both years, difference in yields between tillage methods was not observed. The values of RSC in growth stage of 4 leaves and tillering was higher at conventional tillage, butthe values of RSC3 and RSC4 were higher with minimized tillage. The highest grain yield and values of RSC in every growth stage were achieved on the fertilization variant “c“ in 2009 and on the fertilization variant “b“ in 2010. The correlation relationships between grain yield and RSC were significant and positive in every growth stage. The strongest relationship was found among grain yield and RSC (r=0.6047).

Abstract:
The author discusses the results of scientometric assessment of Russian agricultural and forestry academic journals included into the RSCI database, HAC List and RCSI as of 2022. The essential bibliometrical data were obtained from the RSCI database. The serials selected for the analysis fall under the 68.00.00 index of the State Rubricator of Sci-tech Information (SRSTI).The author substantiates the validity of bibliometrical indicator of publication importance, namely the 5-year impact factor without self citation. He investigates into the journal information capabilities from the perspective of published articles and open access to RSCI database. The level-structured values accepted for ranging the impact factor (from minimum to maximum) included in RSCI, HAC, and RCSI, are provided; the average values make, correspondingly, 0.381, 0.470, and 0.623. The most significant scientific journals are revealed by their impact factor and SI, and by the number of published articles and accessibility via RSCI. The author emphasizes the drawbacks of HAC and RCSI resources, among them inclusion of low-cited and low SI journals. He also favors the proposal to develop the integrated method for journal ranging and, on this foundation, to build the national database of scientific periodicals.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis of the relationship between the citation of historians and the expertly determined reputation rating. Comparative shortcomings of scientometrics and expert assessments are noted. Using the scale of reputation ratings based on the results of a sociological survey conducted by M. M. Sokolov and the data of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), the author calculates the Spearman rank correlation coefficients between these indicators. At the same time, it turns out that there is no correlation between reputation with a five-year total citation according to the RSCI and citation (both general and five years) according to the core of the RSCI. A weak correlation of reputation with long-term total citation according to the RSCI is found, however, this correlation also becomes insignificant after the exclusion of the unique data of B. N. Mironov.

Abstract:
Due to the limited access to the Web of Science and Scopus, scientific libraries are forced to look for alternative sources of bibliometric information. There has appeared the need to revise the methods and tools for conducting scientometric research and assessing scientific activity in general. Specialists’ attention to the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) has especially increased, which now most fully reflects the Russian document flow on scientific publications and has the analytical capabilities necessary to work with bibliometric indicators. In the Central Scientific Library of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UB RAS), the methodology for scientometric analysis of the publication activity of scientific organizations of UB RAS has been reoriented to RSCI. The purpose of the study is to analyze the publication activity of a UB RAS scientific organization and test the RSCI tools for solving scientometric problems according to the developed methodology. The study revealed the need to revise the analysis criteria and methods of obtaining data according to the RSCI architecture. Conclusions are drawn on the effectiveness of RSCI tools for the purposes of the methodology, the correctness of the data obtained, and actions are proposed to improve the functionality of the system.

Abstract:
<strong>Objective:</strong> To observe changes in the number, form (print and online), and distribution (by academic disciplines) of Russian journals indexed in the first three years of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).<strong>Background:</strong> The globalization of science and the need to involve Russia in the international process of knowledge exchange have influenced the main directions of publication activity and interaction with the world scientific community. <strong>Methods:</strong> Statistical information freely available through the databases of the Scientific Electronic Library of Russia for January 2019 were compared with data from January 2016. <strong>Results:</strong> In 2016, the number of Russian journals included in the RSCI was 650; by 2019, the number had increased to 771, an increase of 18.6%. The number of journals with printed and online versions increased by 13.3% to reach 266 units. The number of Russian journals indexed in Scopus and the Web of Science databases increased during the period, as did the number of journals with both print and online versions.<strong>Conclusions:</strong> Journals from the RSCI database tend also to be added to Scopus or WoS databases and do not remain exclusively as part of the local database. Implementing the RSCI project had a positive impact on the full spectrum of Russian academic journals, which are increasingly committed to improving their work to continue to be part of RSCI or Scopus or WoS databases.

Abstract:
The authors analyze scientific journals that are relevant for the publication of works by library and information researchers. The study methodology is based on the selection of peer-reviewed journals indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), embracing various thematic headings in the area of library and information studies. The list of journals comprises 38 titles within the following RSCI headings: Librarianship, Library Studies, Information Studies, Economics, Economic Studies, Sociology, and Science Studies. The presence/absence of the journal in the RSCI, RSCI, the White List and in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission with the indication of significance/importance category assigned to the journal (Q1, Q2, Q3) is shown. The findings of the study demonstrate that researchers in the library and information sphere have a relatively little choice for publishing their papers in scientific professional journals that meet all the requirements. The authors also examine thematic open access platforms (aggregators) and provide examples. They discuss the Portal for the Periodicals in Librarianship, Bibliography and Book Studies. The platform approach expands visibility of journals, especially of the regional ones, which contributes to the scientific research and science promotion.

Abstract:
The aim of the article is to analyze the publication activity and performance of authors registered in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) database in the scientific field of Mass Communication. Journalism. Mass Media and included in the Top 100 of the RSCI rating by the h-index indicator. The research methods were a comparative analysis of the h-index dynamics from 2016 to 2024, a comparative analysis of this indicator of media researchers with scientists in the scientific fields of Politics. Political Sciences, Sociology, and Philosophy, and visualization of the analyzed data. The study was conducted using the data located in the eLibrary scientific electronic library and previously published results of previous studies. The results of the study showed that there is a positive dynamics of the h-index of authors in the scientific field under consideration. At the same time, the indicators of authors in the scientific direction “Mass Communication. Journalism. Mass Media” are noticeably behind the h-index of authors in other social and humanitarian scientific directions, and the number of authors in the scientific direction “Mass Communication. Journalism. Mass Media” is from a quarter to a third of the number of authors in the directions “Politics. Political Sciences”, “Sociology” and “Philosophy”. The results also include a comparison of the indicators of the Top 100 rating according to the RSCI version and the RSCI Core. A comparative analysis was conducted by the scientific status, geography and composition of the Top 100 authors from the first hundred of the RSCI and the RSCI Core. The analysis of the Top 100 composition showed that the overwhelming majority of authors are affiliated in the Central Federal District, most of all — at Lomonosov Moscow State University. Conclusion from the study: insufficient use of the scientific potential of media researchers. Reasons: a small number of dissertation councils; a more practical, applied, rather than theoretical, sphere; a small number of journals in which the results of media research can be published.

Abstract:
The author examines the place of scientometrics in the general analysis of Russian flow of scientific publications (and changes in the attitude toward this issue in Russia in the recent years). He focuses, in particular, on the information and software tools for scientometric research (scientometric databases – OBD). The problems preventing today from using Web of Science and Scopus DBs are noted. The author argues that the RSCI database (Russian Science Citation Index) is currently the most appropriate choice. The existing RSCI OBD functionality, its advantages and disadvantages, and experience are discussed. The author concludes on the possibility and expediency of the wider use of the RSCI OBD in Russian scientometrics (within the current situation), however, he argues that some further developments are urgently needed, in particular, in the aspect of specialized scientometrics-oriented tools. The RAS BEN experience in design and application of such tools is highlighted.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the journals of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) (Web of Science platform) in respect to publication misconduct and predatory practices. Design/methodology/approach The paper employs formal criteria developed by the Disseropedia of Russian Journals (a.k.a. the Journal Project of the Russian Dissernet). Findings A substantial number of the RSCI journals violate publishing ethics and/or are involved in predatory practices (fake peer-review, plagiarism and self-plagiarism, publication of pseudoscientific papers and so on). The general trend is negative: the number of such journals was higher in July 2018 than in 2015 when the RSCI was launched. The authors propose that this situation is due to the non-transparent and partly defective process of journal selection involved; primarily it can be attributed to problems with the RSCI expert pool. Research limitations/implications Many cases of publication misconduct are inevitably overlooked due to natural limitations of the tools. Originality/value The approach and methods were developed by the Disseropedia of Russian Journals and the Dissernet for the specific local Russian situation, where the scientific and editorial community is corrupt and the institution of reputation does not work properly. The authors believe that the experience may also be helpful for scientists and academic officials from other countries.

The study of scientific activities of educational institutions of the agro-industrial complex is based on information from their websites and on scientometric indicators. Research work is reflected on all the studied websites and contains data on the topics of scientific research, the work of dissertation councils and data on patents and inventions. The electronic information environment is widely used, digital libraries are being developed, and links to digital library systems are provided. All higher educational institutions have scientific periodicals; the results of scientific research are presented in electronic form. Insufficient completeness of document archives, the spread of materials across the categories of the website, and limited availability of full-text databases are noted. An analysis of the publication activity of organizations was conducted on the basis of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). According to the number of authors with publications in the RSCI, Russian Timiryazev State Agrarian University, Kuban State Agrarian University named after I.T. Trubilin and Vyatka State Agrotechnological University are distinguished with 3219, 300 and 1520 authors, respectively. Publications of employees of the Kuban State Agrarian University, Russian Timiryazev State Agrarian University, Omsk State Agrarian University named after P.A. Stolypin and Ryazan State Agrotechnological University named after P.A. Kostychev have a high citation rate in RSCI. When analysing the dynamics of the number of publications of educational institutions from 2019 to 2023, according to RSCI data, a general trend of increasing the number of scientific publications in agrarian universities was revealed.

The analysis of publication activity of the journal as at 2021. Since January 2019 journal “Intelligent Systems in Manufacturing” has been reorganized and today it has 2 sections for engineering sciences: “Instrumentation” and “Informatics”. Since that time, the journal has been publishing 14 articles per issue having 9 pages each on average. The editorial board consists of 22 scholars, among them 4 foreign scholars and 4 scholars from other regions of the Russian Federation. Blind peer view of articles is applied to enhance the quality of an article, peer views are published on the portal E-library, and the number of the rejected articles has increased due to low scientific merit up to 20 per cent. The journal site and the information of the journal in Russian Science Citation Index have been upgraded. Article content has been enhanced by means of complementary parallel headlines and information in English: article headline, authors, abstract, references, picture captures, and tables. Abstract and conclusion informative value are subjected to restricted requirements, requirements to references became as follows: at least 15 references to articles published during last 3 - 5 years including foreign ones. Publication activity of the journal in 2020 compared to 2018 has significantly increased according to majority of indicators: 2-year impact-factor for RSCI has become 1.5 times higher, a 2-year impact-factor for RSCI taking into account to citation of all references has also become 1.5 times higher: a 2-year impact factor for RSCI core has become 3 times higher. A 5-year impact factor for RSCI does not intensively respond to the changes happened during the last years, however, it is increasing. A 5-year-factor for RSCI core has the tendency to 1.5-time increasing. Percentage of a 2-year self-citation factor of the journal is not stable and exceeds 50 per cent. A 2-year self-citation factor among the authors is hardly decreasing and accounts for 70 per cent revealing the major disadvantage.

Abstract:
Despite their contribution to innovation, employment and economic growth, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face many problems in accessing finance. The most important of these problems is their access to bank loans. In many countries, including our country, SMEs can overcome this problem to some extent thanks to government support and incentive programs. In this study, gross domestic product (GDP), consumer confidence index (CCI) and real sector confidence index (RSCI) were selected as factors that are thought to affect the loans extended to SMEs by the banking sector on a scale basis, and the relationship between them and the relevant factors was examined using the ARDL bounds test in 2013Q2-2023Q2 period. According to the empirical findings obtained because of the relevant study, a long-term relationship was determined between variables related to SME bank loans. In the long term, while GDP and RSCI variables affect micro-scale business loans negatively, CCI variable affects them positively. While SME bank loans of other scales are negatively affected by the RSCI variable in the long run, they are positively affected by the GDP and CCI variables.

Abstract:
Over the past twenty years, Russian scientists have been able to use the resources of the scientific electronic library eLibrary. The scientific and educational experience of the author of the article suggests that not all researchers adequately use the resources of this library to assess their own publication activity, determine their place among the authors of the relevant topics and manage their own publication indicators. It is important in the competitive environment of the scientific world both for the authors themselves and for the scientific and educational organizations affiliated with them. The study analyzed the publication indicators of one of the well-known authors in the field of media research — Mikhail Vasilievich Shkondin in accordance with the possibilities provided by the NEB for such an analysis. The specific reason for the analysis was the anniversary of M.V. Shkondin. The article presents general indicators of the publication activity of M.V. Shkondin (the number of publications, the number of citations, the Hirsch index for eLibrary, for the RSCI and for the core of the RSCI), places in the ranking for the same indicators, a statistical analysis of the dynamics of the number of publications by M.V. Shkondin according to the RSCI and the core of the RSCI, distribution of publications by journals, distribution of citations of M.V. Shkondin's texts by years of citing and cited publications. Abstract:
In this paper we attempt to classify Russian journals in economics and related disciplines for their scientific significance. We show that currently used criteria, such as a journal’s presence in the Higher Attestation Committee’s list of journals and the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) impact factor, are not very useful for assessing the academic quality of journals. Based on detailed data, including complete reference lists for 2010—2011, we find significant differentiation of Russian journals, including among those located at the top of the RSCI list. We identify two groups of Russian journals, tentatively called category A and B journals, that can be regarded as the most important from the viewpoint of their contribution to the economic science.

Abstract:
Using inventory data from a long-term silviculture experiment in east-central Maine, spatial models were developed to analyze 28 years (1974–2002) of stand structural dynamics. Differences in spatial pattern, species mingling, height differentiation, and relative stand complexity index (rSCI) were compared among five treatments: commercial clear-cutting, fixed diameter-limit, 5 year single-tree selection, three-stage shelterwood (both with and without precommercial thinning), and unharvested natural areas. Regardless of treatment, regeneration events (whether induced by natural breakup of the overstory or by harvesting) increased aggregation in spatial pattern and reduced species mingling, more so in the commercial clearcut and fixed diameter-limit treatments where hardwood densities were highest. Regular spatial patterns were rare. Height differentiation values for individual trees and stand-level mean rSCI were generally highest in untreated natural areas and 5 year selection treatments, intermediate in commercial clearcut and fixed diameter-limit treatments, and lowest in three-stage shelterwood treatments. After a brief adjustment period, precommercial thinning in a shelterwood treated stand generally increased species mingling, height differentiation, and rSCI. Two untreated natural areas exhibited divergent pathways of structural development. Dynamics in uneven-aged selection treatments more closely resembled that of the untreated natural areas than did the shelterwood, commercial clearcut, or fixed diameter-limit treatments.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of an academic reputation survey of Russian economists (N = 6392). The resulting ranking is then compared with their scientometric indicators provided by the Russian Science Citation Index (citations in eLibrary and in RSCI core), as well as calculated by the authors (citations in the RSCI list of distinguished journals). The analysis demonstrates that a robust hierarchy of academic authority exists in Russia, which is, however, only moderately correlated with scientometric indicators. We can classify discrepancies into type I errors (researchers with high citation rates are not enjoying recognition by peers) and type II errors (recognized researchers have poor scientometric records). Type I errors mostly result from (1) misidentification of authors; (2) non-fractionalized authorship of collected volumes; (3) instrumental citing; (4) gaming the metrics. Type II errors arise from ambiguity of the disciplinary boundaries of economics and boundaries of national science, as well as from the ambiguous status of public intellectuals addressing economic issues and politicians responsible for economic policy. Overall, type II errors are less dramatic: it is hard for Russian economists to be widely influential, but little cited. Type I errors are much more widespread. Indicators based on the RSCI list of distinguished journals give the most accurate estimates.

Aim. To assess the influence of sex, age and length of service on scientific productivity (h-index in the RSCI, Scopus and Web of Science) of researchers of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine.Material and methods. The study sample was formed from the staff of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine and consisted of scientists of various ranks. The study included 147 people (women, 103; men, 44); Information was collected on their age, education, length of service, academic degree, the position held and author-level metrics — the h-index, obtained from three abstract and citation databases — RSCI, Scopus and Web of Science. All study participants were divided into groups by sex and age categories — young (≤39 years), middle-aged (men, 40-60 years; women, 40-55 years) and older (men &gt;60 years old; women &gt;55 years).Results. Analysis showed that 70,1% of the research team consists of women; 60% — young and middle-aged scientists, and 40% — older people. Among male researchers, compared with women, there are more doctors of science and high h-index values in the RSCI, Scopus and Web of Science. H-index value in the RSCI among male researchers is 47,3% due to the age and work duration at the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine, and among female researchers, 42,8% due to academic degree and length of service. The h-index in Scopus in men is influenced by age, in women — by the presence of an academic degree, which explain, respectively, 19,7 and 18,1% of its variability. H-index value in the Web of Science in men is associated with the work duration, while in women, with an academic degree and length of service, which explain, respectively, 24,4 and 21,1% of its variance.Conclusion. Women and young and middle-aged scientists prevail in research team pattern of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine. However, male researchers make a more significant contribution to scientific productivity, assessed by the h-index in the RSCI, Scopus and Web of Science. Age and length of service have the greatest influence on scientific productivity for male researchers, while for women — presence of academic degree and length of service. It is necessary to continue research on the study of individual, motivational and institutional factors affecting the scientific productivity.

Abstract:
The aim of the paper is to analyze the publication activity of the Russian writing authors and research organizations published in the field of knowledge management. The study was analysed bibliometric methods, statistical analysis, and analytical tools provided by the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), SCOPUS, Web of Science, and Science Direct. Overall, the study accounts for 363695 SCOPUS documents, 111015 Web of Science documents, 41546 Science Direct documents, and 27072 RSCI documents. The dynamics of the number of publications in the RSCI was compared with the dynamics for Scopus, Web of Science, and Science Direct publications. It was found out that the positive dynamics of the world publication activity on knowledge management problems correlates with the dynamics of the world knowledge management market. It has been shown that the RSCI publications that use solutions based on the ontological models were among the most discussed. The greatest publication activity in the field of knowledge management and ontological design is demonstrated by Universities and research institutes located in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in Ulyanovsk, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Tomsk. The most cited authors are working in the A.P. Ershov Institute of Informatics Systems (Novosibirsk), the Samara National Research University, and the Ulyanovsk State Technical University. An analysis of the RSCI citation indexes have showed that the fundamental works of Russian scientists devoted to the scientific and methodological foundations of knowledge management and published in the period from 1992 to 2008 are still in demand today.

Subject. The article addresses the assessment of publication activities effectiveness of an organization engaged in scientific research in the humanities, carried out on the basis of citation indexes of publications of employees. Objectives. The purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of publication activities of a scientific organization and its employees, based on indicators of citation level, the number of publications, the Hirsch index. Methods. The study rests on general scientific research methods. Results. We performed a comparative analysis of publication activities of three institutes engaged in research in the field of economics, presented an overview of Russian databases, i.e. the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), the eLibrary platform, analyzed the effectiveness of publication activities of scientific researchers of the Central Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences by field of science and by academic position, using the indicators of citation index (Hirsch index), the number of publications included in the RSCI, and the number of references from the RSCI. Our analysis demonstrated high efficiency of the CEMI RAS, which to a greater extent depends on the publication activities of its staff in the position of chief and leading researchers. Conclusions. The existing system for evaluating the publication activities of scientific organizations, which rests on quantitative indicators, is effective, though not sufficiently informative. It is required to expand the list of indicators and conduct a peer review of researchers’ publications.

The article considers the ratings of journals in the analytical system Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) based on eLibrary in the direction of "Mathematics" according to various bibliometric indicators. The analysis of ratings and statistical data of journals show that the introduction of the Herfindahl index into the formula of the integral rating of the RSCI (Science Index) in order to "demonopolize" the field of citing journals does not increase the adequacy of the rating and does not exclude ethical violations. In fact, in the ratings in the field of "Mathematics", the Herfindahl index introduces preferences for multidisciplinary journals and worsens the performance of classical mathematical journals. However, now, even without taking into account the Herfindahl index, the multidisciplinary focus of the journal provides an undeservedly high position in the rating due to citations from articles that do not belong to the category "Mathematics".

The Russian Journal of Oncology is indexed in many databases, including the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). The journal is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications for publishing the main scientific results of Ph.D. theses recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission (hereinafter referred to as the HAC List), which is characterized by structuring by scientific branches, scientific fields, and scientific specialties. Since 2021, the journal citation in the RSCI database has been equated in its value to indexing in the Web of Science Core Collection and/or Scopus, which is a criterion for the quality of a publication and a guideline in choosing a scientific journal by the authors for publishing the results of thesis research. Thus, when preparing a thesis paper, the list of publications can include those works of the applicant that are published in scientific journals presented in the HAC List in the relevant specialty, or in scientific journals indexed in RSCI, Web of Science and/or Scopus, regardless of the scientific specialty and relevant fields of science these journals are included in the HAC List, and whether they are included at all.&#x0D; Taking into account the changes that have taken place, the editors and the publisher continue to publish articles on molecular biology (1.5.3), genetics (1.5.7), oncology, radiation therapy (3.1.6), radiation diagnostics (3.1.25), surgery (3.1.9), neurosurgery (3.1.10), pediatric surgery (3.1.11), cardiovascular surgery (3.1.15), plastic surgery (3.1.16), maxillofacial surgery (3.1.2), pathological anatomy (3.3.2), and clinical laboratory diagnostics (3.3.8) in the Russian Journal of Oncology.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Rsc1 and Rsc2 are alternative bromodomain-containing subunits of the ATP-dependent RSC chromatin remodeling complex in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Smk1 is a sporulation-specific mitogen-activated protein kinase homolog that is required for the postmeiotic events of spore formation. In this study we show that RSC1 and RSC2 are haploinsufficient for spore formation in a smk1 hypomorph. Moreover, diploids lacking Rsc1 or Rsc2 show a subset of smk1-like phenotypes. High-copy-number RSC1 plasmids do not suppress rsc2-Δ/rsc2-Δ sporulation defects, and high-copy-number RSC2 plasmids do not suppress rsc1-Δ/rsc1-Δ sporulation defects. Mid-late sporulation-specific genes, which are normally expressed while key steps in spore assembly occur and which include genes that are required for spore wall formation, are not expressed in cells lacking Rsc1 or Rsc2. We speculate that the combined action of Rsc1 and Rsc2 at mid-late promoters is specifically required for the proper expression of this uniquely timed set of genes. Our data suggest that Smk1 and Rsc1/2 define parallel pathways that converge to provide signaling information and the expression of gene products, respectively, that are required for spore morphogenesis.

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to investigate into the flow of Russian scientific publications on the basis of various information systems and statistical data and to determine if they can be used for forecasting Russian science devеlopment, and to specify its place in the global space of scientific knowledge. The definitions for several discussable concepts are suggested.Sources and methods. The data of information systems used for bibliometrical assessment of publication flows are namely: Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), Web of Science Core Collection (WoS CC), Scopus, and statistical data acquired by the Russian Book Chamber (RBC). The quantitative data on the number of researchers and science funding in the Russian Federation are based on the official statistics.Results. The data on the status of the publication flow in Russia were analyzed based on RBC statistics; RSCI, WoS CC and Scopus indicators are provided. The comparison enables to conclude that each system has its own tradition of integrating journals in their information flow, its own retrospection and classification system which leads to diverging estimates of Russia’s rank in different systems.

Abstract:
The paper discusses the ranking of journals based on the alternative to Scientometrics, where the basic unit of information is not the citation rate of publications, but their qualitative characteristics, obtained on the basis of the regular sociological survey of the economists’ community conducted by the “Journal of NEA” in 2020. The empirical data obtained made it possible to determine the size of the audience of each journal. The paper shows that the size of the journals’ readership has a direct impact on the respondents’ assessments of the quality of publications and scientific authority of the journals. The ranking of economics journals by each particular criterion — “Interest in Journal Publications”, “Scientific Level of Journals” and “Public Prestige of Journals” is presented. Use of the “Multiway data analysis” methodology has provided measurement not only of particular criteria that reflect hidden relations between their characteristics, but also determined the weight function of their aggregation in the aggregate ranking of journals — the “Ranking-2020”. The article also contains a comparative analysis of ranking the journals on the basis of the “Rating-2020” and re-rating of the RSCI and criticizes RSCI criteria “Science Index” and “Public Examination”.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the relevance of the publications of Professor Julian GlebovichSaushkin (1911– 1982) in the period from 2000 to 2020 using the national bibliographic database of scientific citation RSCI. The analysis of the general publication activity was carried out, the author’s publications most in demand in the 21st century were identified, and their general characteristics were given. The most in demand are 46 works (45% of the author’s publications presented in the RSCI), which are cited 3 times or more, they account for 98% of the total number of citations. The maximum citation of Saushkin’s publications fell on 6 books (68%), including 5 of them – lifetime. The absolute leader in terms of citation is the fundamental, encyclopedic in content, book «Economic Geography: History, Theory, Methods, Practice», which has not been created in Russian socio-economic geography over the past half century. It was revealed that Yu.G. Saushkin, of course, remains a recognized authority among geographers, primarily in such sections as the history, methodology and theory of geography in general, and socio-economic geography in particular. New trends in geography, reflected in the author’s publications, are still relevant in the 21st century.
