Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
After an analysis of certain legal texts, the authors have established that under Polish law the President of the Energy Regulatory Offi ce may conduct 56 diff erent types of auctions for generators of the electric energy from renewable sources (RSE). For each individual RSE installation complying with the RES parameters a separate auction may be carried. One RSE installation may take part in several RSE auctions provided it satisfi es the parameters of each individual installation. These parameters concern both the premises connected with the start-up process (the commencement of the production of electric energy) of a given installation and the premises of technical nature such as carbon dioxide emission or the level of the installation capacity used, as well as premises of a subjective character regarding individual producers participating in the auction. A detailed analysis of all types of RSE auctions described in the Act of 20 February 2015 on renewable sources of energy allows to determine which types of installation may take part in individual actions. However, of key importance from the point of view of the possibility of a RSE auction to be carried are secondary regulations which allow the Council of Ministers to determine individual types of RSE auctions in which the volume of energy, subject of the auction, will be made available. Consequently the Council of Ministers which runs the State policy within the area of RSE has become essentially responsible not only for the possibility of conducting an RSE auction, but also for the implementation of the EU climate and energy policy which is also binding upon Poland.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Among the challenges in industrial revolutions, 4.0 is managing organizations’ talents, especially to ensure the right person for the position can be selected. This study is set to introduce a predictive approach for talent identification in the sport of netball using individual player qualities in terms of physical fitness, mental capacity, and technical skills. A data mining approach is proposed using three data mining algorithms, which are Decision Tree (DT), Neural Network (NN), and Linear Regressions (LR). All the models are then compared based on the Relative Absolute Error (RAE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Relative Square Error (RSE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Coefficient of Determination (R2), and Relative Square Error (RSE). The findings are presented and discussed in light of early talent spotting and selection. Generally, LR has the best performance in terms of MAE and RMSE as it has the lowest values among the three models.

Abstract:
In the preparation process of magnetorheological silly putty (MRSP), the influence factors of the relative shear thickening effect (RSE) and relative magnetorheological effect (RME) were studied by orthogonal experiments as well as range and variance analyses. The influence degree of each factor was also evaluated. The results showed that the viscosity of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and the mass fraction of carbonyl iron powder (CIP) had a significant influence on the RSE and RME, respectively. With an increasing PDMS viscosity, the RSE of the silicon-boron copolymer matrix first increased and then decreased, while the RME of MRSP decreased gradually. In addition, the shear thickening mechanism of MRSP was explored by the molecular chain motion. Finally, the impact energy with different samples was tested, and it is demonstrated that with the increasing cross section, the impact energy of the sample increases gradually, but the rate of increase becomes smaller.

Abstract:
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined by the European Commission (2011) as "the responsibility of companies for the effects they have on society". It is part of the approaches initiated voluntarily by the latter (driven by moral considerations or the ambition to improve their financial performance) but can also concern more constrained commitments, in response to external pressure (legal or from their stakeholders). Identifying and understanding the mechanisms that drive CSR investments are key issues to be able to promote and develop responsible behavior. This thesis, which is part of the RESET (Responsabilité Environnementale et Sociale des Entreprises du Territoire néo-aquitain) project funded by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, proposes to study the determinants of CSR. The first part of the study aims to understand and evaluate the impact of companies' motivations on the intensity of their involvement in socially responsible practices, based on data collected directly from companies in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The first chapter focuses on the measurement of corporate social performance and presents the methodological difficulties induced by the construction of a multidimensional indicator. A second chapter is devoted to studying the influence of different motivations to practice CSR on the extra-financial performance indicator we have constructed. The results indicate that altruistic behaviors, driven by moral considerations and which lead companies to sacrifice profits in the interest of society, are those that correspond to the highest level of involvement in CSR. The second part of this thesis questions the coherence of companies' actions by studying more specifically the compensation of irresponsible actions. The first chapter examines the relationship between the level of information on environmental, social and governance practices communicated on the websites of companies in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the litigation to which they have been subjected. The results indicate that companies that have been at the origin of irresponsible actions have higher levels of communication. To complete this analysis, a final chapter examines the temporality between good and bad news. The objective is to determine whether companies engage in CSR to compensate for past bad actions, through a repair mechanism, or to mitigate the consequences of future irresponsibility, through a prevention mechanism. The results indicate that both mechanisms can exist simultaneously. The conclusions of this doctoral research are intended to provide recommendations that could help encourage socially responsible behavior in the territory of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in particular

Abstract:
Purpose – The overall objetive of this research is to increase the levels of knowledge on strategic CSR of the Portuguese firms quoted in the Lisbon Stock Exchange. Furthermore, and grounded on an extensive review of the literature, we aim to build and assess the validity of an integrative conceptual framework of analysis to study CSR’s strategic maturity and integration in companies of the PSI-20. It is consequently our intention: to understand the sustainability value creation process of these firms (and its contribution to the country’s sustainability) and its explanatory factors; identify and understand the features shared by the companies displaying higher levels of strategic CSR maturity; to understand which are the integrational driving forces and which are the factors explaining social responsible behaviour from these firms; to describe different social responsible behaviour presented by diverse firms clusters, and how the sustainability value creation process is done; and, finally, to understand how CSR strategic maturity is affected by diverse mediation processes in place. Design/methodology/approach – This paper sets out a conceptual framework, which was drafted building on an extensive critical review of the literature seeking to incorporate the diverse contributions made by the existing CSR models and classifications. The model’s design is based on several theoretical research studies, and it is tested on a sequence of two studies. The first study is quantitative in nature and departs from the SusVa methodology (Sustainability Value Added) to explore in a selected group of PSI-20’s companies its sustainability value creation processes and underlying driving forces. The second study is qualitative in nature and it is focused on two groups of contrasting companies in terms of sustainability performance, namely value creation, selected from the first study after the application of SusVa. The dimensions of the conceptual framework devised and built on the first part of the dissertation are here intrumental in doing a more granular analysis and improve knowledge on strategic CSR maturity and integration. The methodology for this sequence of studies is pragmatista in nature following a mixed research strategy using a sequential explanatory design, on a sample of PSI-20’ companies. Findings – The PSI-20’ companies studied in this research show different levels of sustainability value creation, they have accordingly different levels of CSR’s maturity and integrate CSR dissimilarly in their business operations. The analytical framework here proposed enables a wide reaching approach to analyzing strategic CSR, their underlying motivations and its core factors. It also extends to considering the different phases of maturity enabling the evaluation of the distinctive levels of CSR integration into the company strategy and the stage at which the company currently stands at on its determined path. The sequence of methods applied in this research project makes possible an account of the value contribution of each firm to the sustainability of the benchmark country, as well as an identification of the driving forces involved in sustainability value creation. Practical implications – In theoretical terms this research intends to improve the knowledge on strategic CSR of the Portuguese firms in the Lisbon stock exchange, especially those in the PSI-20 index. Is also our aim to improve the existing knowledge on the drivers which affect strategic CSR in order to improve our understanding of such processes, by building up a typology of strategies and strategic CSR orientation categories, which may be useful to CSR’s development in Portuguese companies; From a practical perspective, the suggested framework enables practitioners to access a practical tool that specifically measures their companies’ CSR maturity and strategic profile and which may serve as well as a means of diagnosis, improvement or of adaptation. Originality/value – The conceptual integrative model for this analysis of strategic CSR built on and developed in this research (an analytic framework), makes possible the identification of the factors explaining the diferente levels of CSR integration into the company strategy and evaluating the level of maturity prevailing.

Abstract:
This research aims to study the link between societal and economic performance. It follows on the research field of the new business case for corporate social responsibility. In view of the limits of the researches studying the direct link between societal and financial performance, this study analyses the indirect impacts of societal performance on the economic performance. Thus, it examines the mechanisms that can explain the impact of a CSR approach on the stakeholders, and more particularly its impacts on their attitudes and behaviours that can be at the root of economic performance. The key theory used to examine the impacts of CSR is the organisational identification theory. This research work as been realized within the framework of a CIFRE PHD agreement for the MAIF company, a firm of the social economy sector. It aims to examine the impacts of the variable “global approach of CSR perceived” taking into account the particularities of the governance model of mutualism. This qualitative study proves that CSR approach can have many significant and favourable impacts on the economic performance. Though the economic risk can also be important in case of a perceived gap between talk and action on such an issue; for employees as for active members and clients. This study points out the transfer mechanism of organizational identification between three categories of stakeholders, which can be at the root of an optimisation of the economic performance raised by a CSR approach, as of a possible increase of the risk in case of a growing gap

The economic sector in Lebanon who is strongly linked to regional conflicts has been facing problems such as poverty of resources, debt, unemployment, as well as the presence of Syrian refugees a matter that has made the situation more and more overwrought. In Contrast with the country's political instability, the dynamic Lebanese economy allowed the private sector to overcome these deficiencies and aided to the disentanglement of the State in the application of its sovereign functions, according to a system of laissez-faire.

Abstract:

This work is divided in three main parts regarding the investigated materials. In the rst part, an Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) study of a lm of the polyaniline plastdoped with di-n-dodecil ester of sulfosuccinic acid (PANI-DDoESSA)0:5 is presented. Through ESR parameters extracted from ttings of the spectra, it is possible to observe a transition between delocalized and localized states (metal-insulator transition) in which polarons could be modeled as spin-1/2 dimers with inter and intradimer interactions. The measurements were performed with the magnetic eld oriented parallel and perpendicular to the lm surface allowing an anisotropic behaviour to be evidenced from all ESR parameters. Bellow 5 K this anisotropy showed a Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction causing a weak ferromagnetism for low temperatures in the ground state. We suggest an in-plane DM vector in accordance with symmetry properties of the crystallites. In the second part, we present a.c. conductivity measurements for the novel double perovskite series Ca2xLaxFeIrO6 e Sr1:2La0:8FeIrO6 in a capacitive con guration. It is showed that small perturbations like the pressure made by the sample holder can stimulate di erent behaviours in a.c. electrical properties. Granularity possibly dominates the conductivity in those polycrystalline samples, and thermal cycling or small pressure e ects must be established in such a way that a.c. conductivity helps to guess magnetic characteristics in such systems. In the third part, synthesis of powder and pellets samples of multiferroic ceramics BiMn2O5 is presented. The ferroelectricity mechanism of this material has not been fully understood yet. However, defects like oxygen vacancies could be associated as extrinsic causes for this phenomenon. We discuss the possibility to evaluate the presence of... Abstract:
The latest edition of French In-service Inspection Rules RSE-M2010, incorporating the up-to-date upstream French regulations, orders and requirements for pressure equipments, and taking into account both of the radioactive risk and industrial risk in nuclear power plant (NPP), has been adopted as the applicable rule for in-service inspection (ISI) of EPR units. In RSE-M2010, the previously used benchmark for classification Safety Class has been replaced by the Nuclear Pressure Equipments Class (ESPN Class), and the category of pressure equipments has been introduced to monitor the industry risks of NPP pressure equipments, making it much more precise and convenient to define the scope of equipments which subjected to ISI and corresponding ISI requirements on frequency and methods. This paper described the main differences of the ISI requirements in RSE-M2010 and previous edition of RSE-M, also introduced practices of applying RSE-M2010 when preparing the ISI program of Taishan EPR units. Based on the application practice of RSE-M2010 on Taishan EPR project, some proposals for future improvement of this code are presented. Preliminary thinking for future implementation of EPR ISI activities has also been described.

Abstract:
Engineering components which are considered in safety case assessments contain either real or hypothetical crack-like defects that experience combinations of primary and secondary stresses during service. A number of assessment procedures contain simplified numerical approaches to detail the interaction of these stresses under in-service or fault conditions including the R6 procedure used in the UK and the RSE-M Appendix 5.4 (RSE-M) assessment code adopted in France. The R6 procedure and RSE-M approaches are shown to be relatively similar for cases which do not contain secondary loading but differ when treating secondary stresses. It is generally accepted that the R6 procedure in terms of ρ or V is conservative compared to finite element analyses and plant experience; which has driven the development of a new formalism of the R6 V factor, Vg. This new formalism is seen to be more aligned to the RSE-M approach but differs in some cases. The aim of this paper is twofold: 1) to demonstrate the main divergence between the procedures, and 2) to provide experimental comparison between the R6 V, the newly formalised Vg, and the RSE-M approaches under test cases within literature that contain combined primary and secondary loading.

After a quick overview of RSE-M scope now used on more than 100 Nuclear Power Plants in the World, this paper will present the flaw evaluation rules of RSE-M Appendix 5. This Appendix considers cracks, volumetric defects and thinning areas. Periodically updated on a yearly bases, the rules cover cracks in different components, for different material, in different location. It consider defects interaction in Appendix 5 - Chapter 5-1. In the case of multiple defects, after determining the dimensions for each defect according to the rules in previous chapters, the non-interaction conditions between the elementary defects given shall be checked. If these conditions are not met, the defects shall be grouped according to a dedicated chapter. This review is done on the basis of RSE-M 2015 edition and last modifications of 2016 edition.

Abstract:
Children’s participation in high-quality early childhood education and care (hereinafter ECEC) institutions and inclusive pedagogical practice represent an important compensatory mechanism that significantly reduces the risk of children’s social exclusion. The role of ECEC is to contribute to the reduction or possible elimination of the risks of social exclusion (hereinafter RSE) of children and the consequences of their unfavourable actions through systematic preventive action. The scientific project “Models of Response to Educational Needs of Children at Risk of Social Exclusion in ECEC Institutions” (MORENEC, hereafter the Project MORENEC), funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, is focused on issues arising from this topic. This research is an integral part of the Project, and its goal is to analyse how Croatian ECEC institutions contribute to the prevention of the RSE of children in order to prevent unfavourable developmental outcomes. The data were collected on a sample of 65 ECEC institutions, which is representative for Croatia. The obtained results indicate an uneven practice of preventing the RSE in Croatian ECEC institutions. Various methods, programmes and techniques are used to prevent the RSE of children. Only a third of ECEC institutions implement comprehensive, structured preventive programs, and only a fifth of institutions offer different forms of support for parents. The authors conclude that systematic support for children and families at RSE in the Croatian ECEC system, has not yet fully taken root. The findings point to the need to improve the preventive capacities of the Croatian ECEC system, with an emphasis on expanding the offer of science-based programmes led by educated staff, which includes various forms of support for children at RSE and their family members.

Abstract:
Teaching about relationships and sex in UK schools often focuses on the biology of reproduction. Stakeholders have called for lessons to cover a broader range of issues, such as healthy relationships and the risks posed by using digital technology. The subject Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) will become statutory in all secondary schools in England in the near future. There is ongoing consultation into what will be included in the statutory guidance for RSE. This POSTnote reviews evidence on the potential outcomes of RSE in schools and how to maximise its effectiveness.

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: This study is to assess the efficacy and safety of ketamine in treating refractory and super-refractory status epilepticus in pediatric and adult populations. Rationale: Refractory status epilepticus (RSE) is either generalized or complex partial status epilepticus (SE) that fails to respond to first and second-line therapies. Super refractory status epilepticus (SRSE) is SE that remains unresponsive despite 24 hours of therapy with general anesthesia [1, 2]. Both RSE and SRSE pose significant challenges for the managing intensivist. There exists a race against time for control of epileptic activity in the RSE/SRSE patient to preserve cortical function and reduce morbidity/mortality. However, despite the best intentions, and not uncommonly, standard frontline antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) fail to control or reduce seizure activity once seizures approach the 30-minute mark. The following review provides an analysis of ketamine in treating RSE/SRSE, focusing on the potential target population, dosing, concerns, and the role of early administration.
