Abstract:
The U.S. semiconductor supply chain’s resilience will meaningfully increase only if current efforts to re-shore fabrication (that is, to situate more facilities that make its key parts in the United States) are met with commensurate efforts to re-shore upstream material production along with downstream assembly, test, and packaging (ATP) of finished microelectronics.

Abstract:
Refined marriage rates in the U.S. have seen a 54% decrease since the 1990’s, with only 31.3 per 1,000 unmarried women married in 2022 (Loo, 2024). The refined divorce rate increased steadily throughout much of the 20th century until it peaked around 1980 and since then has been slowly declining (Loo, 2024). At the same time, recent decades have been marked by a substantial decrease in remarriages, with only 24.1 per 1,000 previously married U.S. adults entering remarriage in 2022 (Loo, 2024). This Family Profile provides an update of remarriage rate estimates for males and females aged 18 and

Abstract:
Nigeria’s annual economic growth averaged 7.1 per cent in the 2000s, but the 2014–15 oil shock and Covid-19 reversed this, with growth now averaging only 0.7 per cent. Living standards have fallen as population growth has outpaced economic growth. The poverty rate has risen from 35 per cent in 2010 to 41 per cent in 2019, and inequality has only declined slightly. Changing the structure of fiscal taxation instruments could significantly impact growth, income distribution and poverty levels. The government has made some tax reforms, amending the Personal Income Tax (PIT) Act 1993 with acts in 2

Abstract:
Since 2008, the refined marriage rate in the U.S. has declined, dropping from 37.5 marriages per 1,000 unmarried males and females to 33.6 marriages per 1,000 in 2023 (Westrick-Payne, 2024). Over the same period cohabitation rates have continued to rise, reflecting a broader trend among younger adults to postpone marriage, with first marriages increasingly occurring at later ages (Brown et al., 2022; Manning & Loo, 2024). This shift positions marriage as a capstone experience, underscoring the importance of distinguishing first marriage rates from remarriage rates. Using the latest data fr

Abstract:
At the time of writing there were widespread concerns about the health of the U.S. economy. There is conclusive evidence that the pace of growth has slowed, which has prompted the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates on two occasions (a total of 100 basis points thus far). As usual, when faced with this kind of turning point, analysts and policy makers alike wonder whether the United States will achieve a "soft landing" or whether the downturn is more serious and protracted in the worst scenario, the new weakness could signal the end of the new economy. Furthermore, recent inflation surprises
