Background. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a promising therapeutic tool for Parkinson’s disease (PD), and many stimulation targets have been implicated. We aim to explore whether low-frequency rTMS over the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) improves motor and nonmotor symptoms of individuals with PD. Methods. We conducted a randomized, single-blind, sham-controlled parallel trial to compare the effect of 10 consecutive daily sessions of 1 Hz rTMS over right DLPFC on individuals with idiopathic PD between active and sham rTMS group. Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most severe form of stroke. Catheter-delivered thrombolysis with recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rtPA) for the drainage of ICH is currently under evaluation in a phase III clinical trial (MISTIE III). However, in a pig model of ICH, in situ fibrinolysis with rtPA was reported to increase peri-lesional edema by promoting N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-dependent excitotoxicity. In the present study, we engineered a non-neurotoxic tPA variant, OptPA, and investigated its safety and efficacy for in situ fibrinolysis in a rat model of ICH. Magnetic

Abstract:
The present chapter extends the goal-based analytic framework applied in Parts II and III of the book to an additional category of disputes filed with the World Trade Organization (WTO) Dispute Settlement System (DSS)—those reflecting the growing friction between the WTO’s multilateral trade regime and the network of regional trade agreements (RTAs) proliferating around the globe. Looking at a series of prominent RTA-related cases that came before the WTO DSS, the extensive analysis carried out in this chapter shows that the dynamic reality of goal shifts and goal conflicts experienced within the DSS is not unique to trade-and and perennial disputes. Similar processes can be observed in the histories of other classes of WTO disputes, an analysis of which is likely to disclose different DSS goal-attainment patterns evidencing new goal priorities and trade-offs, and resulting in varying dimensions of judicial effectiveness and ineffectiveness, adjusted to the new operational environments.

Abstract:
Platform-based designed SoC includes one or more processors, RTOS, intellectual property blocks, memories and an interconnection infrastructure. An associated advantage of processor is flexibility at the software level. Hardware is not flexible. Thus, dedicated IP blocks must be inserted at design time. An alternative is to provide the platform with reconfigurable hardware blocks with sufficient capacity to implement any envisaged dedicated IP block. Dynamic self-reconfigurable systems (DSRSs) introduce flexibility to hardware. In DSRSs, IP blocks are loaded according to application demand, an approach that potentially reduces area, power consumption and total system cost. Platform-based design associated to dynamic reconfiguration techniques provide both hardware and software flexibility. The contributions of this work are: (i) DSRS architecture proposal; (ii) straightforward DSRS design flow for this architecture; (iii) NoC specifically designed to support dynamic hardware reconfiguration; (iv) two proof-of-concept case studies. Results point that among the best implementation choices for DSRS are those that employ NoCs as communication infrastructure, adopt the use of software configuration controllers, make use of unidirectional LUT-based IP interfaces and dispose of an internal port for reconfiguration.

Abstract:
The media streaming server technology have been developed in the recent past using free software and open source approaches. But commercial approaches are preferred by certain multimedia big enterprises. These enterprises dominate the mobile media delivery business. For this reason we think it is interesting to discover the main characteristics of the principal commercial platforms to deliver mobile video streaming to mobile devices and its main key features: Media and delivery components. We will give our vision on: Real Networks’ Helix Media delivery components based on RTSP and Microsoft’s IIS Media Services based on HTTP. The aim of this book chapter is to provide detailed insight into these different streaming approaches and how these platforms and protocols aid in building flexible streaming applications for mobile devices. A comparison among these approaches is also provided and also we present the delivery of video streaming to Apple mobile devices in the two commercial approaches.
