Abstract:
The article, written by Brazilian researchers, aims to outline the main ideas of Vitaly Vladimirovich Rubtsov, one of the most prominent modern Russian educational researchers. The authors present Rubtsov’s main theoretical and methodological contributions, particularly those in the field of education, and reflect on the origins and evolution of his – still ongoing — research work. The article consists of two parts. In the first one, the authors describe Rubtsov’s research path, highlighting his academic and political acting in different scientific areas which reaches way beyond the boundaries of his native country. In the second part, the text describes Rubtsov’s ideas concerning the following three independent dimensions: principles, practices and possibilities of cultural-historical theory in organizing learning activity in educational settings. The text discusses Rubtsov’s work, emphasizing the concept of interaction; then it analyses the relationship between these ideas and research practices developed by the scientist, aiming to show how the concept of interaction becomes real in joint activity. In the final part, the authors describe Rubtsov’s propositions concerning the model of school education based on the principles and practices which he developed in his works.

Abstract:
Professor of the Leningrad State Conservatory composer Feodosy Antonovich Rubtsov (1904-1986) entered the history of Russian musicology as the author of the original concept of the structure of scales of folk songs. The scientist formulated main positions in monographs “Intonation Relations in the Songs of Slavs” (1962) and “The principles of mode construction in Russian Folk Songs” (1964). Comprehension of the concept of “genre”, the definition of genre features of traditional folk songs is a little-known side of Rubtsov’s scientific heritage. The study of archival documents (in particular, the transcripts of the report “Principles for Determining Genres of Folk Songs”, which was made in 1966 at the Leningrad department of the Union of Composers at the scientific conference “Theoretical Problems of Musical Forms and Genres”) shows that the scientist formulated a number of positions that were relevant for the 1960–1970. “Genre” is a genus and species concept, multi-level concept. The main criterion for determining the genre is the function, the stylistic features and the type of form are important too. Rubtsov noted that the genre system of folklore is capable of renewal, and the characteristic property of the genres of musical folklore lies in their ability in a certain context to act as a function of another genre

Abstract:
In the 1960s–1970s, the focus of attention of domestic scientists was on the genre specifics of folklore. In the field of musical folklore, the differentiation of genres according to common features was especially relevant for the preparation of the “Collection of Russian Folklore”. In the scientific publications of the Professor of the Leningrad State Conservatory Feodosiy Antonovich Rubtsov (1904–1986) there is no special theoretical explanation of the concept of “genre” and theoretical development of genre classification. However, in the process of preparing editions of folk songs, studying the semantics of tunes and the content of the texts, and searching for the relationship of intonations of folk melodies, the researcher formulated a number of important ideas. Working with archival documents made it possible to clarify Feodosiy Rubtsov’s idea of the concept of “genre”, its boundaries and features. An important document is the transcript of the 1966 report “Principles for Determining Folk Song Genres” from the Central State Archive of Literature and Art of St. Petersburg. Later, Feodosiy Rubtsov developed the ideas presented in the report. His particular interest was connected with the study of the relationship between the tune and the text of a folk song, which is important for determining its genre. As a result, in 1967, Feodosiy Rubtsov published the article “Correlation between Poetic and Musical Content in Folk Songs”.

The paper deals with two poems: “Ты поскачешь во мраке…” by Joseph Brodsky, and “Я буду скакать по следам задремавшей отчизны…” by Nikolay Rubtsov. Analyzing some features of these poems and comparing similarities in both poets’ biographies, the author states the significant difference between them. Rubtsov, in his opinion, has an identity typical for pre-modern subjectivity. It is conventional, stereotypical, and conservative, full of faith in idealized old Russian values. Brodsky’s self-defining is in this aspect close to late modernity. It is liquid, all the time in movement, never convinced about self-identity.

Abstract:
This interview with V.V. Rubtsov, Rector of MSUPE, full member of the Russian Academy of Education, marks the opening of a new university project, “Psychology and Me. The Living Stories” (created and implemented by V.T. Kudryavtsev). The project is conceived as a series of video interviews with people who not only create new psychology today, but also find the source of meaning in this work, in their professional and personal growth, no matter what their achievements, status and regalia are. We are talking of such kind of growth and change that could inspire other psychologists, especially the young ones, to become part of this process of creating new psychology. The interview with Vitaly Rubtsov happened on the occasion of his 70th birthday celebrated on October 20, 2018. Professor Rubtsov talks about what brought him into psychology from physics, about people and events that shaped his research priorities, and tells the story of the establishment of social-genetic psychology, a special field of psychology which specifically accumulates the heuristic potential of cultural-historical and activity approaches and may well become the foundation for a new developmental educational practice that corresponds with the social and humanitarian perspectives of the 21st century.

Abstract:
AbstractSimulium (Simulium) acrotrichum Rubtsov, a black fly from Central Asia, provides a platform for examining the evolutionary relationships of selected species groups in the subgenus Simulium Latreille. The female, male, pupa, and larva of S. acrotrichum are properly associated and morphologically redescribed and illustrated. The banding sequence of the larval polytene chromosomes is compared with that of the Simulium subgeneric standard, from which it differs by nearly 30 fixed rearrangements. Structural and chromosomal features indicate that S. acrotrichum is the sister species of S. flavidum Rubtsov. Simulium acrotrichum can be placed confidently in a group consisting of the S. malyschevi Dorogostaisky, Rubtsov, and Vlasenko and S. reptans (L.) groups, which are part of a larger clade that also includes the S. jenningsi Malloch group. This more inclusive clade is defined chromosomally by a minimum of four fixed inversions, compared with the standard map for the subgenus Simulium. All four inversions are uniquely derived relative to the two selected outgroups, Simulium (Psilozia) vittatum Zetterstedt and Simulium (Boophthora) erythrocephalum (De Geer). The independent monophyly of the S. malyschevi and S. reptans groups, however, cannot be tested without study of additional group members. The problems illustrated by the taxonomic identity and phylogenetic placement of S. acrotrichum argue for an integrated approach to simuliid systematics, drawing from the character stores of morphology, cytology, and molecular biology.

Abstract:
The polytene chromosomes, larva, pupa, and male are described for the black fly Simulium chaouikaidi n. sp., a member of the Simulium venustum group from Morocco. Chromosomally, this new species is one fixed inversion removed from the standard banding sequence for the subgenus Simulium and has microscopically undifferentiated sex chromosomes and minimal autosomal polymorphism. It is homosequential with two other species in the S. venustum species group: S. bergi Rubtsov and S. paramorsitans Rubtsov. Structurally, each known life stage of the new species is distinct from that of all other simuliids in North Africa. This new species is the southernmost member of the S. venustum group in the Old World and is apparently endemic to the Rif Mountains. Its restricted distribution includes Bou Hachem Natural Park where its habitat is afforded some protection.

Abstract:
This article considers the problems of Internet discourse and media space itself as one of the main characteristics of Internet discourse. The characteristics of media texts, an important product of media space, are analyzed. The necessity of studying media-poetry, which is a synthesis of poetry and various media spaces, is revealed and justified. The author uses the creative work of the famous Russian poet N. Rubtsov as an example. On the basis of the research, the author proves that Nikolai Rubtsov is the most sought-after Russian poet on the Russian-language Internet. The author argues that media-poetry in the XXI century poetic Internet discourse gives the poet's work a postmodern sounding. The urgency of the article lies in the fact that the study of the language of the Internet is in its infancy; so far few works have been devoted to the subject. The study of the Internet language is promising and has a number of aspects which are waiting for their researchers.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the motif of returning to one’s homeland in the poetry of Nikolay Rubtsov and Leonid Zavalnyuk. The biographical research method makes it possible to identify the reasons that make the motif of returning to one’s homeland one of the key motifs in the poetry of Rubtsov and Zavalnyuk. The childhood of the poets, the early lost of mothers, the war years, both being orphans with living fathers, and being forced to leave their homes for many years. A comparative typological analysis allows us to identify the commonality in the revelation of this motif: the return to the homeland as a return to the idyllic world of lost childhood. Moreover, in the poems of both poets the image of their small homeland is presented in two time dimensions: past and present. Using the technique of contrast, the authors show the radical changes in the native space, the inability to accept the changes that have occurred. A comparison of the motif of returning to home reveals not only the similarities, but also the differences in the worldview of the two poets. Turning to the image of a small homeland, Rubtsov continues Yesenin’s traditions, his attention is directed to the Russian village, rural nature, the motif of the death of the traditional way of life. For Zavalnyuk, the motif of returning to his homeland takes on a new meaning: returning to his true self, restoring his own integrity, accepting himself. The analysis of poetic texts is based on the works of A. N. Veselovsky, B. M. Gasparov, M. L. Gasparov, N. D. Tamarchenko, V. I. Tyupa. The results of the study can be applied when studying the history of Russian literature and literary local history at universities and schools.

Abstract:
AbstractCytological studies of Simulium tuberosum s.l. from the type locality in northern Finland demonstrate the presence of three reproductively isolated species. One of these species, here designated FGIO, has not previously been described cytologically, whereas the remaining two cytospecies, AB and FGI, are both well known from North America and Norway. FGIO differs from its close relative, FGI, by one fixed inversion in IIS, one in IIL, and a unique sequence in the distal half of IIIL. Morphological characters of the larvae corroborate the cytological evidence for three distinct species. On the basis of morphological evidence, we suggest that AB is true S. tuberosum (Lundström) and FGI is S. vulgare Dorogostaisky, Rubtsov & Vlasenko. The identity of FGIO remains unknown, although it might be S. tumulosum Rubtsov. Morphological and chromosomal notes on S. tuberosum s.l. from Germany and England are also given; we suggest that the species known from England as S. tuberosum is actually unnamed. Overall, our study provides a blueprint for dealing with nominal taxa that are shown to be composites of sibling species.

Abstract:
The problem of digitalization is one of the most relevant, but at the same time debatable areas of modern educational system. The introduction of modern digital technologies into the learning process greatly enhances our ability to create adapted, accessible, individualized, and evolving learning environments, but it also includes many risks. In  V.V. Rubtsov noted that the introduction of new educational technologies requires conducting fundamental and applied psychological and pedagogical research, which precedes introduction into the mass school. Otherwise, the learning process can be turned into a simple «programming» of students’ actions and operations, destroy the whole system of «teacher-class» or «student-student», divide it into separate elements such as «student-computer». Many researchers note that until now the introduction of digital technologies only as a new «external shell» for old purposes, methods, and programs of training, which continue to have the character of «broadcasting» of information and «exercising» skills remain the widespread problem. At present, there are two main positions on the problem of digitization. The fi rst is described in the digital-algorithmic approach, where the execution of a predefi ned program with predefi ned rules is aligned with the correct task solution. This position is no different from the system of programmed learning. The second position is described in the digital-cognitive approach, where a digital program or technology serves as a means of enhancing teacher and students’ ability to communicate with each other, modeling, and presentation of thinking acts and joint actions. The most striking examples of this approach in practice can be presented by methods: «Swimming of Solid» and «Lever», (E.V. Vysotskaya, V.V. Rubtsov, I.M. Ulanovskaya), «Pilot-Locator» (A.G. Kritsky), PL-modifi ed (L.S. Kuravsky, A.A. Margolis, etc.), «Scale» (E.I. Isaev, A.V. Konokotin, V.V. Rubtsov). The key to understanding digitalization in education is to view new technologies not as an end in themselves, but as a means of empowering teachers to organize a system of learning activities that are shared among participants.

Abstract:
The article discusses the methodological issues involved in using the concept of “ideology”, which arise from its complex character. “Ideology” cannot be easily reduced to one single meaning, as far as it bears trails of multiple (and sometimes opposite) meanings that it had got through its long intellectual history. As a result, this concept has a common semantic kernel and varying periphery. While using this concept, one needs not only to stick firmly on the selected definition, but also to be aware about the theoretical debates that shaped this particular configuration of meanings. The article argues that the definition of ideology as “a system of ideas”, that was proposed by A.V. Rubtsov, is insufficient to address the major theoretical junctions of interpreting ideology. In particular, it does not take into account the social and political functions of ideology and exaggerates its systemic characteristics. The article supports Rubtsov’s idea of differentiating ideology as a system of ideas and as a body of institutions and proposes an alternative concept, that also focuses on the ways ideas function in social contexts characterized by relationships of power and inequality, but is not that much loaded with contradictory meanings – the concept of symbolic politics.

Abstract:
Paracnephia gladiator is described from fast-flowing streams of the Jarrah Forest, Darling Plateau, Western Australia. Diagnostic characters are provided for all life stages after the egg. The generic assignment is tentative given the limited understanding of relationships among Gondwanan Simuliidae previously assigned to Prosimuliini. The M-shaped median sclerite of the male terminalia and the large calcipala suggest phylogenetic affinity with the Neotropical genera Araucnephia and Araucnephioides. The simple tarsal claw suggests that females are mammalophilic. Females are attracted to humans but do not bite.
