Abstract:
Die intellektuelle Lage Rumäniens unterschied sich von der der anderen kommunistischen Staaten. Wir hatten keinen Solidarność-Arbeiterhelden als Präsidenten (wie die Polen mit Lech Wałęsa), auch keinen avantgardistischen Theaterautor, der politische Opposition betrieb (wie es bei den Tschechen Václav Havel tat). Wir hatten auch keine Tausendsassas wie Michnik oder Geremek als intellektuelle Institutionen, noch nicht einmal einen «Goulaschkommunismus» (János Kádár). Auch hatte Rumänien keine revolutionären Ereignisse und Aufstände wie «Budapest 1958» oder «Prag 1968» durchlebt. Zwar gab es immer mal wieder, 1977 und 1987, vereinzelte Streiks und Proteste: Mutige Köpfe gab es auch bei uns, auch «Dissidenten», aber sie blieben ohne größeres Echo.

Abstract:
The essay studies Romania and the Roma in the country as a minority from an Europeanization perspective. The aim of the essay is to study EU´s impact on Romania in general through Europeanization and to illustrate this Europeanization by studying the situation of the Roma in particular. The paper focuses on Romania´s Europeanization process and the Roma as a minority. It looks at how these mechanisms have affected Romania´s efforts to prohibit discrimination and to promote Roma´s rights. Heather Grabbes´s Europeanization mechanism; models, money, gate –keeping, benchmarking and monitoring, advice and twinning is the framework for the essay. Besides this Claudio Radaelli´s definition is used because it is broad enough to cover different areas The conclusion is that Europeanization has affected Romania in its adaption to EU membership. Romania has been affected by a top-down Europeanization process. Regarding the Roma the conclusion is that the mechanisms have pushed Romania to focus more on the Roma. Romania has also by new anti discrimination laws tried to prohibit discrimination.

Abstract:
Bulgaria and Romania – The Road to EU The main cause with this study was to examine if Bulgaria’s and Romania’s road to EU have been similar, and which possibilities the EU has had to directly influence the countries, and which problems were the main explanation/reason to why the countries did not get the possibility/opportunity to accede to the EU already in 2004. This took place through a qualitative text analysis where the multipel case study was the method used. The study was divided into two different dimensions; macro and micro, where macro have been the tools that the EU uses in an enlargement process, and micro have been the way the tools were used in the study’s two different countries, and the way the countries worked amongst the tools. The study has had two theoretical approaches; the neo-realistic, and the constructivistic. By this two contrastory theories it was explained which way the two dimensions took. In the analytical description the two countries way to the EU was compared, where only marginal differences between the countries were found, and the same result were found amongst the citizens’ attitudes towards the EU and Europe. The two tools mainly used in the accession process were the Copenhagen Criterias, and an invisible tool in the shape of pressures and threats from the EU to push the countries into change. The defining reasons to why the countries were unable to accede to the EU in 2004, were the high level of corruption in the countries, the discrimination of the Roman minority (within the countries) and finally the administrative confusion which lead to ineffective authorities. The study was able to explain the macro level foremost from a neo-realistic view, mainly because the chief aim was to create equal states and the micro level mainly from a constructivistic perspective since the countries act in collusion with its citizens. Abstract:

Syftet med artikeln var att undersöka huruvida några maskrosbarn uppvuxna på statliga barnhem i Rumänien upplever att nära relationer haft betydelse för deras liv. De frågeställningar som behandlats i artikeln har varit gällande huruvida det förekommit viktiga personer under deras uppväxt och huruvida dessa relationer tillgodosett viktiga grundläggande behov.

I studien användes en kvalitativ metod bestående av intervjuer med fyra olika maskrosbarn. Studien har utgått från ett interaktionistiskt perspektiv gällande tolkning och Turners (2002) transaktionella behov har utgjort tolkningsramen.

Resultatet visade att det förekommit nära relationer under respondenternas uppväxt som i stor utsträckning tillgodosett viktiga behov gällande bekräftelse, tillit, vinst, grupptillhörighet samt verklighets-förankring.


The purpose with the study was to examine whether some resilient youths who grew up in state institutions in Romania, feels that close relationships had a meaning for their lives. The questions asked in the study have been whether there have been important persons during their childhood and whether these relations have fulfilled important basic needs.

In the study a qualitative method were used, based on interviews with four different resilient youths. The study has taken an interactionistic perspective according to the theoretical approach and Turner’s (2002) transactional needs have been used as the theoretical framework.

The results of the study show that all of the respondents have had close relations during their childhood. These relations have to a great extent fulfilled important needs such as verifying self, trust, regards, group inclusion and a sense of facticity.

Die Publikation gibt Einblicke in die internationale Studie MEDIAdelcom (Critical Exploration of Media Related Risks and Opportunities for Deliberative Communication: Development Scenarios of the European Media Landscape), einem EU finanzierten internationalen Forschungsprojekt (Horizon 2020). Das Hauptziel der Studie ist die Entwicklung eines Diagnoseinstruments, das es politischen Entscheidungsträger:innen, Medienexpert:innen, Journalist:innen usw. ermöglicht, Risiken und Chancen zu erkennen, die der Medienwandel für deliberative Kommunikation mit sich bringt. In diesem E-Book werden die ersten Ergebnisse des Projekts vorgestellt: Eine meta-analytische Methode zur Sammlung von Daten und zur Prüfung der Forschungslandschaft zum Thema Nachrichtenmedien, die eine Synthese der bisherigen Kenntnisse, die Bewertung der Optionen für deliberative Kommunikation in den jeweiligen Gesellschaften sowie die Ermittlung von Wissenslücken ermöglicht. Durch das Monitoring und die Meta-Analyse wird deutlich, wie die 14 an MEDIAdelcom beteiligten Länder (Bulgarien, Deutschland, Estland, Griechenland, Italien, Kroatien, Lettland, Polen, Rumänien, Schweden, Slowakei, die Tschechische Republik, Ungarn und Österreich) in der Lage waren und sind, die jeweiligen Medienentwicklungen zu analysieren.
