<em>One of the boiler auxiliaries for the running of the production process is the fan. The fan acts as a primary and secondary air supply and as a vacuum cleaner for the remaining ash when the boiler burns and is discharged into the atmosphere. In this fan often occurs over heat (over heat) one of the causes is the decline in oil quality. Lack of attention to the lubrication system if allowed to continue will experience over heat in the fan which will cause damage to the fan, especially the bearing due to the decrease in oil viscosity caused by operating hours and temperatures that affect the

Abstract The mammalian circadian clock operates on a 24-hour cycle and regulates physiological, endocrine, and metabolic responses to changes in the environment. Aging disrupts this circadian process, increasing risk for development of age-associated diseases. Free-wheel running is not only an indicator of circadian rhythm, but also a strong predictor of survival from age-related diseases (i.e. cardiovascular disease). Thus, understanding the impact of age on free-wheel running can lead to a better understanding of disease progression. We analyzed free wheel running in both male and female C57

Most are minor injuries related to trauma, easily recognized because the pain started right after falling, running into another child on the field, twisting an ankle, and so on. Often these are minor muscle and tendon injuries (bangs, scrapes, and sprains) that resolve over a few hours or days at most. Pain that is severe or persists requires medical attention.

Accordingly, the number of starts defines the life limit for cyclic duty operation where low-cycle fatigue phenomena dominate, while the number of running hours define the continuous operation life limit for which erosion,

Abstract:
It is difficult to make a reliable measurement of running clearance in the hostile environment over the blading of modern gas turbines. When the engine manufacturers require the measurement to be made during tests lasting many hours, or even days, measurement system ruggedness and reliability are of primary importance. This paper describes how a second generation tip clearance measurement system of much reduced size and weight was developed. The reduction of size and weight facilitates the use of this measurement system for blade tip-to-casing measurements on all engine development tests from

Abstract:
An evaluation study was conducted of the Hoerbiger/Altronic HYPERfuel high-pressure fuel injection system. This work was performed by the EECL under contract to Hoerbiger Corporation of America. The project was funded by the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and by the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI). The first phase of this program consisted of start up and shakedown testing of the system. Start up was generally very straightforward and the system was operating and running the engine within a few hours of commencing start up / shakedown. The initial valve implementation tested wo

Abstract:
Raised profile striping (RPS) was installed on the roadway center and edge lines along a 40-mile corridor of Natchez Trace Parkway (NATR) as a safety measure to reduce traffic accidents. To measure potential effects to the acoustic environment, controlled noise measurements were conducted within NATR in May 2023. Uncontrolled measurements were taken in 2024 once the roads reopened to provide background acoustic data for the analysis. These data were used to conduct noise modeling scenarios analyzing the effect of RPS on the acoustic environment. Modeled results indicate that vehicles running o

The Cruise AL602/Leg 1 took place from September 16th 2023 to September 20th 2023 in the south-western Baltic Sea near Rügen. The starting point was Kiel and the destination was Sassnitz, Rügen. The aim of the cruise was to train students by collecting marine geophysical data in the Baltic Sea, especially in a prospective wind farm area. The areas examined included the Bay of Kiel, Fehmarn Belt, the Bay of Luebeck, the Bay of Mecklenburg and the Tromper Wiek in the Pommerian Bay. The methods used to collect data were: 2D reflection seismic, sediment-echosounding, multibeam-sounding and sidesca

Abstract:
Lubricating oils for automotive engines have been incorporating important improvements in chemical properties to increase engine performance, reduce fuel consumption and vehicular emissions indices, in addition to increasing the time interval for changing the lubricant itself. The objective of this study is to investigate the vibrational behavior of the block and crankshaft an Otto cycle internal combustion engine operated with ethanol and gasoline fuel as a function of the viscosity and total base number (TBN) of the lubricant. The study consisted of instrumenting the block and the 1st and 5t
