Abstract:
Brans–Dicke (BD) cosmology is reconsidered from an approach in which the model can be formulated in [Formula: see text]CDM form, but at the expense of replacing the rigid cosmological constant [Formula: see text] with a dynamical quasivacuum component which depends on a small parameter [Formula: see text]. The product of [Formula: see text] times the BD-parameter [Formula: see text] becomes exactly determined in terms of the ordinary cosmological parameters. The GR-limit is recovered for [Formula: see text] when [Formula: see text]. We solve the background cosmology of the model as well as the perturbations equations. When fitted to the cosmological data, we find that the BD-cosmology, transcribed in such an effective GR-form, appears to be competitive with the [Formula: see text]CDM and emulates the running vacuum model.

</strong></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>Abstract –</em><strong> The running text board technology is efficient in conveying information in public places. Running text or commonly known as text running a medium to deliver information that is most often encountered as a means of advertising that are informative. Running text display is generally in the form of LED-LED are connected and assembled into a row of LED or may be a dot matrix. Submission of information by displaying the running text has not been effective and efficient in terms of use. There are still shortcomings that enable people to experience vision errors and too long waiting for the text to be displayed. Thus the necessary tools to deliver information that can work optimally to minimize shortages by designing a control tool running text using voice (voice) and arduino uno. This tool uses a series of android smartphones facilities to provide input sound is converted into a data string and compiled in arduino using serial communications, and will be displayed on the LED Dotmatrix as output. Submission of information by using running text that comes with using sound can improve efficiency and effectiveness in the use and also the time required so that it can reduce the level of difficulty of the user in receiving the information

Abstract:
Recent analyses in the literature suggest that the concordance [Formula: see text]CDM model with rigid cosmological term, [Formula: see text] may not be the best description of the cosmic acceleration. The class of “running vacuum models”, in which [Formula: see text] evolves with the Hubble rate, has been shown to fit the string of SNIa + BAO + H(z) + LSS + CMB data significantly better than the [Formula: see text]CDM. Here, we provide further evidence on the time-evolving nature of the dark energy (DE) by fitting the same cosmological data in terms of scalar fields. As a representative model, we use the original Peebles and Ratra potential, [Formula: see text]. We find clear signs of dynamical DE at [Formula: see text] c.l., thus reconfirming through a nontrivial scalar field approach the strong hints formerly found with other models and parametrizations.

By writing the running of the scalar spectral index completely in terms of the scalar index [Formula: see text] and the tensor-to-scalar ratio [Formula: see text] we are able to impose constraints to models of inflation which are independent of the parameters of the model in question. We write analytical expressions for the running index of Natural Inflation, two models of the type Mutated Hilltop Inflation and the Starobinsky model. The resulting formulae for the running depend exclusively on [Formula: see text] and/or [Formula: see text] and will keep tightening the running index further as additional conditions and observations constrain the scalar and the tensor-to-scalar indices.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to compare the time to exhaustion (Tlim) at maximal aerobic speed ([Formula: see text]) in middle- and long-distance runners. Five middle-distance (MDR) and 5 long-distance (LDR) male runners, ages 28 ± 7 years, were tested running on a treadmill, with the Université de Montréal Track Test (UMTT), on maximal velocity and on time-to-exhaustion track tests. During the laboratory test, cardiorespiratory variables (e.g., HR, [Formula: see text]) were assessed. Second, running velocity at [Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]) during the UMTT was determined and HR values were recorded; also, maximal velocity on a 30-m sprint (V30) and maximal heart rate (HR max) and time to exhaustion were determined on the track. No significant difference was observed between groups during the multistage treadmill test. Significant differences were found between groups for V30 and Tlim, with MDR showing a 23% longer running time than LDR. The results of the present study demonstrated that the training profile of middle-distance and long-distance runners plays a significant role in Tlim performance when [Formula: see text] is obtained during a test with short-duration stages. Key words: maximal oxygen uptake, runners, time limit (Tlim)

Abstract:
Abstract Based on the wide range of problems to effectively perform cardiopulmonary testing in young children, this study strives to develop a new cardiopulmonary exercise test for children using a mobile testing device worn in a backpack in order to test children during their natural movement habits, namely, running outdoors. A standard cardiopulmonary exercise ramp test on a cycle ergometer was performed by a group of twenty 7–10-year-old children. The results were compared with a self-paced incremental running test performed using a mobile cardiopulmonary exercise measuring device in an outdoor park. The children were able to reach significantly higher values for most of the cardiopulmonary exercise variables during the outdoor test and higher. Whereas a plateau in $${\dot{\text{V}}\text{O}}_{{2}}$$ V ˙ O 2 was reached by 25% of the children during the outdoor test, only 75% were able to reach a reasonable VT2, let alone $${\dot{\text{V}}\text{O}}_{{{\text{2peak}}}}$$ V ˙ O 2peak , during the bicycle test. The heart rate at VT1, the O2-pulse, and the OUES were comparable between both tests. OUES was also positively correlated with $${\dot{\text{V}}\text{O}}_{{{\text{2peak}}}}$$ V ˙ O 2peak in both tests. Testing children outdoors using a mobile cardiopulmonary exercise unit represents an alternative to standard exercise testing, but without the added problems of exercise equipment like treadmills or bicycles. It allows for individualized exercise testing with the aim of standardized testing durations instead of standardized testing protocols. The running speeds determined during the outdoor tests may then be used to develop age-adapted testing protocols for treadmill testing.

Abstract:
This contribution attempts to determine the [Formula: see text]-quark pole mass [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] running mass [Formula: see text] with two different approaches at the next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) corrections. At the first approach, we derive a relation between the [Formula: see text]-quark pole mass [Formula: see text] and its [Formula: see text] running mass [Formula: see text] at the NNLO corrections based on the perturbative Quantum Chromo Dynamics (pQCD) predictions. At the second approach, we extract numerical values of the [Formula: see text]-quark pole and [Formula: see text] running masses based on the NNLO phenomenology of H1 and ZEUS Collaborations combined beauty vertex production experimental data. Then we discuss about the compatibility between the pQCD theory results and phenomenology approach in determination of the [Formula: see text]-quark pole and [Formula: see text] running masses at the NNLO corrections. Also, we investigate the role and influence of the [Formula: see text]-quark mass as an extra degree of freedom added to the input parameters of the Standard Model Lagrangian, on the improvement of the uncertainty band of the proton parton distribution functions (PDFs) and particularly on the gluon distribution.

Abstract:
The contents of renormalization group invariance and equations under tight constraints are explored and demonstrated with closed-form on-shell [Formula: see text] matrices of pionless effective field theory for nuclear forces right within the effective field theory philosophy. The ‘running’ couplings under such tight constraints are presented in [Formula: see text] and uncoupled [Formula: see text] channels up to truncation order [Formula: see text]. Some linear relations are exposed and in turn employed in the pursuit of nonperturbative ‘running’ solutions which serves as an alternative choice without resorting to special prescription and additional operations or treatments. The utility of such ‘running’ behaviors inherent in the closed-form [Formula: see text]-matrices of pionless effective field theory is remarked and a number of important issues related to effective field theory constructed with various truncations are interpreted or discussed from the underlying theory perspective.

We revisit the selection problem, namely that of computing the [Formula: see text]th order statistic of [Formula: see text] given elements, in particular the classic deterministic algorithm by grouping and partition due to Blum, Floyd, Pratt, Rivest, and Tarjan (1973). Whereas the original algorithm uses groups of odd size at least [Formula: see text] and runs in linear time, it has been perpetuated in the literature that using smaller group sizes will force the worst-case running time to become superlinear, namely [Formula: see text]. We first point out that the usual arguments found in the literature justifying the superlinear worst-case running time fall short of proving this claim. We further prove that it is possible to use group size smaller than [Formula: see text] while maintaining the worst case linear running time. To this end we introduce three simple variants of the classic algorithm, the repeated step algorithm, the shifting target algorithm, and the hyperpair algorithm, all running in linear time.

One of the interesting portals linking a dark sector and the Standard Model (SM) is the kinetic mixing between the SM [Formula: see text] field with a new dark photon [Formula: see text] from a [Formula: see text] gauge interaction. Stringent limits have been obtained for the kinetic mixing parameter [Formula: see text] through various processes. In this work, we study the possibility of searching for a dark photon interaction at a circular [Formula: see text] collider through the process [Formula: see text]. We find that the constraint on [Formula: see text] for dark photon mass in the few tens of GeV range, assuming that the [Formula: see text] invariant mass can be measured to an accuracy of 0.5% [Formula: see text], can be better than [Formula: see text] for the proposed CEPC with a 10-year running at [Formula: see text] (statistic) level, and better than [Formula: see text] for FCC-ee with even just one-year running at [Formula: see text], better than the LHCb, ATLAS, CMS experiments and other facilities can do in a similar dark photon mass range. Abstract:
Treadmill exercise is the most common form of exercise used in studies involving laboratory rodents. However, oxygen consumption [Formula: see text] is not usually monitored since the measurement of this parameter is particularly difficult in small, exercising animals. The purpose of this study was to develop a regression equation for predicting submaximal [Formula: see text] in mice during treadmill running. Twenty female mice of three strains were tested, in an Oxyscan metabolic treadmill, on different days at running speeds of 10, 13, 15, 17, and 20 m/min at a 0% grade. Each mouse was placed in the treadmill chamber for a 10-min period before running commenced. Running speed was increased in 2-min intervals by 5 m/min until the assigned speed was reached. Each mouse then ran for 10 min to reach steady state, followed by another 20 min at the steady-state plateau. During this period a 30-s expired gas sample was collected every minute. Gas samples were analyzed for O2 and CO2, using an Oxyscan gas analyzer. Trials were conducted during the nocturnal phase of the animals' photoperiod, and running speeds were assigned randomly to minimize order effects. This approach provided highly reliable measures of oxygen consumption (r = 0.96). By using the running speeds (10–20 m/min) and the animal's body weight it was possible to predict the submaximal oxygen consumption (mL/min) during running with a high degree of accuracy (i.e., R2 = 0.85). In an independent group of animals (n = 14) we compared the predicted [Formula: see text] with the measured [Formula: see text]. This yielded a good correlation coefficient (r = 0.79) and a low prediction error (+2.4 ± 2.9%). This study demonstrated that it is possible to predict the submaximal oxygen consumption of laboratory mice during exercise, with an acceptable prediction error, from relatively simple measures (running speed and body weight). In addition, it was also possible to predict accurately the relative intensity of exercise [Formula: see text] using the animal's running speed on the treadmill (r = 0.999).Key words: submaximal [Formula: see text], treadmill exercise, regression equation, rodents.

Abstract Purpose The self-paced maximal oxygen uptake test (SPV) may offer effective training prescription metrics for athletes. This study aimed to examine whether SPV-derived data could be used for training prescription. Methods Twenty-four recreationally active male and female runners were randomly assigned between two training groups: (1) Standardised (STND) and (2) Self-Paced (S-P). Participants completed 4 running sessions a week using a global positioning system-enabled (GPS) watch: 2 × interval sessions; 1 × recovery run; and 1 × tempo run. STND had training prescribed via graded exercise test (GXT) data, whereas S-P had training prescribed via SPV data. In STND, intervals were prescribed as 6 × 60% of the time that velocity at $$\dot {V}{{\text{O}}_{{\text{2max}}}}$$ V ˙ O 2max ($$_{{\text{v}}}\dot {V}{{\text{O}}_{{\text{2max}}}}$$ v V ˙ O 2max ) could be maintained (Tmax). In S-P, intervals were prescribed as 7 × 120 s at the mean velocity of rating of perceived exertion 20 (vRPE20). Both groups used 1:2 work:recovery ratio. Maximal oxygen uptake ($$\dot {V}{{\text{O}}_{{\text{2max}}}}$$ V ˙ O 2max ), $$_{{\text{v}}}\dot {V}{{\text{O}}_{{\text{2max}}}}$$ v V ˙ O 2max , Tmax, vRPE20, critical speed (CS), and lactate threshold (LT) were determined before and after the 6-week training. Results STND and S-P training significantly improved $$\dot {V}{{\text{O}}_{{\text{2max}}}}$$ V ˙ O 2max by 4 ± 8 and 6 ± 6%, CS by 7 ± 7 and 3 ± 3%; LT by 5 ± 4% and 7 ± 8%, respectively (all P < .05), with no differences observed between groups. Conclusions Novel metrics obtained from the SPV can offer similar training prescription and improvement in $$\dot {V}{{\text{O}}_{{\text{2max}}}}$$ V ˙ O 2max , CS and LT compared to training derived from a traditional GXT.

Motivated by such models, in this work, we relate the decaying vacuum energy [Formula: see text] with a scalar field [Formula: see text]. Abstract:
This case study examines the impact of boot longitudinal flexural stiffness on the total external mechanical work of a skier’s centre of mass per distance travelled in the forward direction ([Formula: see text] EX (J/m)) and on running economy during skate roller-skiing under submaximal steady-state conditions. Moreover, it analyses time derivatives of total W EX, of W EX performed by the roller-skis and poles, respectively, and of the directly useful mechanical work (the sum of the work to overcome centre of mass’ gravity and rolling resistance) within a typical roller-skiing cycle. Multiple roller-skiing trials (G3 technique) were performed by one subject on an inclined treadmill with boots of soft, intermediate, and stiff flexural stiffness. The orientation and magnitude of the roller-ski and pole ground reaction forces, body kinematics, VO2, and lactic acid concentration were monitored. The stiff boots had 13.4% ( p < 0.01) lower [Formula: see text] EX compared to the intermediate boots, and 20.7% ( p < 0.001) lower [Formula: see text] EX compared to the soft boots. Regarding running economy, the soft boots had 2.2% ( p < 0.05) higher VO2 compared to the intermediate boots, but the same VO2 compared to the stiff boots. In conclusion, the soft boots had significantly higher [Formula: see text] EX and running economy, while stiff boots had significantly lower [Formula: see text] EX and intermediate boots significantly lower running economy. Moreover, [Formula: see text] EX appears to be a better indicator of the boot flexural stiffness impact on energy efficiency than running economy.

Abstract:
The running mass of the b-quark defined in [Formula: see text]-scheme is one of the important parameters of SUSY QCD. To find its value, it should be related to some known experimental input. In this paper, the b-quark running mass defined in nonsupersymmetric QCD is chosen for determination of the corresponding parameter in SUSY QCD. The relation between these two quantities is found by considering five-flavor QCD as an effective theory obtained from its supersymmetric extension. A numerical analysis of the calculated two-loop relation and its impact on the MSSM spectrum is discussed. Since for nonsupersymmetric models [Formula: see text]-scheme is more natural than [Formula: see text], we also propose a new procedure that allows one to calculate relations between [Formula: see text]- and [Formula: see text]-parameters. Unphysical ε-scalars that give rise to the difference between the above-mentioned schemes are assumed to be heavy and decoupled in the same way as physical degrees of freedom. By means of this method it is possible to "catch two rabbits," i.e. decouple heavy particles and turn from [Formula: see text] to [Formula: see text], at the same time. An explicit two-loop example of [Formula: see text] transition is given in the context of QCD. The advantages and disadvantages of the method are briefly discussed.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to compare values for maximal accumulated O2 deficit measured in running and cycling. Nine university students performed five fatiguing constant-velocity treadmill tests and five fatiguing constant-power cycle ergometer tests at intensities within the severe domain. O2 deficit was determined making the traditional assumptions that (1) the O2 demand increases linearly with the exercise intensity and (2) the O2 demand is constant from the onset of exercise if the intensity is kept constant (Medbø, 1996). [Formula: see text] was 11% higher in running than in cycling. In contrast, O2 deficit was ∼50% higher in cycling than treadmill running. Inspection of the data suggested that the O2 demand may have been underestimated, especially in the treadmill tests. It was concluded that assumptions associated with measuring maximal accumulated O2 deficit in running must be revisited. Key words: aerobic, anaerobic, cycling, running, [Formula: see text]

Abstract:
Earlier studies have shown that in a two component model of the universe with dark matter and the running vacuum energy, which is phenomenologically a combination of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] either eternal deceleration or acceleration is produced in the absence of a bare constant in the density of the running vacuum. In this paper, we have shown that in the interaction scenario, where the interaction between matter and vacuum is introduced through a phenomenological term, the two component model is capable of causing a transition from a prior decelerated to a later accelerated epoch without a bare constant in the running vacuum density. On contrasting the model with the cosmological data, we have found that the interaction coupling constant is small enough for a slow decay of the running vacuum. The model is subjected to dynamical system analysis, which revealed that the end de Sitter phase of the model is a stable one. We did an analysis on the thermal behavior of the system, which shows that the entropy is bounded at the end stage so that the system behaves like an ordinary macroscopic system. Apart from these, we have also performed the state finder diagnostic analysis which implies the quintessence nature of running vacuum and confirms that the model will approach the standard [Formula: see text]CDM in the future.

Scheduling on Unrelated Machines is a classical optimization problem where [Formula: see text] jobs have to be distributed to [Formula: see text] machines. Each of the jobs [Formula: see text] has on machine [Formula: see text] a processing time [Formula: see text]. The goal is to minimize the makespan, i.e., the maximum completion time of the longest-running machine. In this article, nonhuman poetry is explored. Departing from an autoethnographic project based on audio recordings made while running on revetments, and which discussed how to give voice to nonhuman actors the possibilities of nonhuman poetry, this text aims at taking it one step further by extracting poetry from the material. Ethnographically, this is discussed in terms of affect, and an 'ethnography to be'. Theoretically, the study has a posthumanist approach, with a specific focus on the econarratology of philosopher Michel Serres. The method and theory are are discussed in tandem in relation to what philospher Peter Sloterdijk has coined 'amphibian anthropology'. By stacking the bracketed words in my transcriptions, four poems emerge in which background sounds, contextual descriptions, corrections and bodily sounds form the content. Each poem is accompanied by a map made from smartphone screenshots. The prose is found to be evocative of the surroundings of the recording, and also resonating with the ideas of human language as derivative of what Serres calls the Great narrative, the story of universe and nature themselves. The proximity to water and rocks discernible in the experiment is seen as a result stemming from practicing the hope-oriented 'ethnography to be'.

Abstract:
Makespan scheduling on identical machines is one of the most basic and fundamental packing problems studied in the discrete optimization literature. It asks for an assignment of n jobs to a set of m identical machines that minimizes the makespan. The problem is strongly NP-hard, and thus we do not expect a ([Formula: see text])-approximation algorithm with a running time that depends polynomially on [Formula: see text]. It has been recently shown that a subexponential running time on [Formula: see text] would imply that the Exponential Time Hypothesis (ETH) fails. A long sequence of algorithms have been developed that try to obtain low dependencies on [Formula: see text], the better of which achieves a quadratic running time on the exponent. In this paper we obtain an algorithm with an almost-linear dependency on [Formula: see text] in the exponent, which is tight under ETH up to logarithmic factors. Our main technical contribution is a new structural result on the configuration-IP integer linear program. More precisely, we show the existence of a highly symmetric and sparse optimal solution, in which all but a constant number of machines are assigned a configuration with small support. This structure can then be exploited by integer programming techniques and enumeration. We believe that our structural result is of independent interest and should find applications to other settings. We exemplify this by applying our structural results to the minimum makespan problem on related machines and to a larger class of objective functions on parallel machines. For all these cases, we obtain an efficient PTAS with running time with an almost-linear dependency on [Formula: see text] and polynomial in n.

Abstract:
Question: Can exercise dose be established for bone weakness treatment? Design: Randomized experimental study. Participants: Thirty two adult (12 weeks) Wistar rats (16 males and 16 females) weighed [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]gm. Intervention: Rats were tail suspended for 2 weeks and then randomly divided into four groups; Group I ([Formula: see text]) sacrificed after suspension, Group II ([Formula: see text]) normal cage activities. Group III: ([Formula: see text]) level surface treadmill running. Group IV: ([Formula: see text]) uphill treadmill at angle of 15∘. The running speed was 12[Formula: see text]m/min for a period of 30[Formula: see text]min daily at frequency of 5 days/week for 6 weeks. Outcome measures: Histomorphometric analysis of distal femurs of right hind limbs to measure bone architectural parameters (cortical thickness, Tb.Th, Tb.Nm, Tb.Sp, Tb.Ar, Bone marrow area and density and TBA). Results: Significant improvements were shown in bone architecture in distal femur of Group IV ([Formula: see text]) compared to both Group I and Group II. No significant improvement in distal femur in Group III ([Formula: see text]) compared to both Group I and Group II. The percentage of change was found to be 62–96% between Group IV and Group II and 72– 82% between Group IV and Group I. Conclusion: The results suggested that uphill treadmill running exercises were effective to induce changes in bone tissue in the form of changing trabecular dimensions and density. The induced structural improvement was site specific and dose dependent.

Abstract:
Power-suppressed corrections ~(1/Q2)p, p = 1,2… to the electromagnetic transition form factor Q2Fπγ(Q2) are estimated using the running coupling constant method. Within this method the renormalization scale in the QCD expression for Fπγ(Q2) is taken to be equal to [Formula: see text] (or to [Formula: see text]) and computation of the form factor with running coupling [Formula: see text] is carried out. In calculations the pion asymptotic and model distribution amplitudes (DAs), as well as DAs found in the context of the "naive non-Abelianization" approximation are employed. Comparisons are made with frozen coupling constant approximation results and with the experimental data.

Abstract:
Hanoi network (HN) has a one-dimensional periodic lattice as its main structure with additional long-range edges, which allow having efficient quantum walk algorithm that can find a target state on the network faster than the exhaustive classical search. In this paper, we use regular quantum walks and lackadaisical quantum walks, respectively, to search for a target state. From the curve fitting of the numerical results for HN of degrees three and four, we find that their running time for the regular quantum walks are followed by amplitude amplification scales as [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively. For the search by lackadaisical quantum walks, the running time scales are as [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively.

Abstract:
Given a set [Formula: see text] of n points and a set [Formula: see text] of m unit disks on a 2-dimensional plane, the discrete unit disk cover (DUDC) problem is (i) to check whether each point in [Formula: see text] is covered by at least one disk in [Formula: see text] or not and (ii) if so, then find a minimum cardinality subset [Formula: see text] such that the unit disks in [Formula: see text] cover all the points in [Formula: see text]. The discrete unit disk cover problem is a geometric version of the general set cover problem which is NP-hard. The general set cover problem is not approximable within [Formula: see text], for some constant c, but the DUDC problem was shown to admit a constant factor approximation. In this paper, we provide an algorithm with constant approximation factor 18. The running time of the proposed algorithm is [Formula: see text]. The previous best known tractable solution for the same problem was a 22-factor approximation algorithm with running time [Formula: see text].
