Abstract:
The study aims to evaluate the performance of Random Forest algorithms in data mining education by optimizing graduation on-time (GOT) predictions using imbalanced data methods. Methods used to handle imbalanced data include random under-sampling (RUS), random over-sampling (ROS), hybrids of RUS and ROS, synthetic minority over-sampling techniques for nominal classes (SMOTE-NC), and hybrids of SMOTE-NC and RUS. After applying these methods, studies analyze their performance on training and testing data. The research findings show that on training data, the RUS-ROS hybrid showed the best performance compared to other methods, while the SMOTENC and RUS hybrid techniques showed the best performance on testing data based on AUC values. The research showed that the use of an imbalanced data method significantly improved the ability of Random Forest algorithms to predict graduation on time (GOT) in the context of educational data. We discuss the implications for educational data mining applications and provide suggestions for future research.

Abstract:
We examined the effect of anaphylactic shock on the longitudinal distribution of pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) in ragweed-sensitized dogs in which PVR was partitioned into an upstream arterial component (Rus) and a downstream venous and capillary component (Rds). We also assessed whether Rus and Rds would be reduced by pretreatment with histamine H1- and H2-receptor blocking agents and with cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase pathway inhibitors. Anesthetized animals were examined on separate occasions 3 wk apart in which one of the treatments was randomly given. The pulmonary arterial occlusion technique was used to determine segmental pressure drops. During ragweed challenge, PVR increased ≈4 times compared with the preshock value (3.04 vs. 12.07 mmHg ⋅ l−1⋅ min; P< 0.05). Although both Rus and Rds increased postshock, the greatest relative increase occurred in Rds. None of the treatments reduced partitioned resistances compared with no treatment. Our results show that, under conditions of anaphylactic shock, increases in Rus and Rds could not be ascribed to release of histamine or products of the cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase pathways.

Abstract:
Robert Ousterhout, the author of a magnificent book “Eastern Medieval Architecture. The Building Traditions of Bizantium and Neighboring Lands”, published by Oxford University Press in 2019, the remarkable scholar and generous friend, was so kind to mention in his C. V. on the sight of Penn University (Philadelphia, USA) that he had been the Visiting professor of the Moscow architectural Institute (State Academy), as well as simulteniously of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, but he did not say that he had been awarded the degree of professor honoris causa by the academic council of MARHI. Unfortunately, his life in muscovite hostel, nevertheless we tried to do our best to provide the best possible accommodation in a “suit” with two rooms with a bathroom, had been radically different from the wonderful dwelling chosen for the visiting teaching stuff from MARHI in the University of Illinois. And Robert called our hostel “Gulag”. He had been joking probably. It is impossible to overestimate the role of professor Robert Ousterhaut in the studies of the history of Byzantine art. At the present day he is the leader in the world studies of the architecture of Byzantium, the real heir of the great Rihard Krauthaimer and Slobodan Curcic, whom he had left behind in his works. His books are known very well in Russia. R. Ousterhaut graduated in the history of art and architecture at the University of Oregon, the Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Universities of Cincinati and Illinois. Не worked at the department of history of art at the University of Oregon, department of history of architecture at the University of Illinois, had the chair of the history of architecture and preservation at the University of Illinois, which is considered, as we know, one of the twenty best American universities. He always worked hard and with success. When I had finished reading my course of the history of Russian architecture at Illinois, he said: “Yes, next term the students are to be treated well…” Now he is professor emeritus of the history of art in the famous Penn University. He taught the courses of the “History of architecture from Prehistory to 1400” and “Eastern medieval architecture” as well as led remarkable seminars devoted to the different problem of the history of architecture of the Eastern Meditarenian, including the art of Constantinopole, Cappadoce, meaning and identity in medieval art. His remarkable 4-years field work at Cappadoce, which he described in several books, and his efforts of the preservation of the architectural monuments of Constantinopole are very valuable, Among his books one certainly must cite Holy Apostels: Lost Monument and Forgotten Project, (Washingtone, D. C., 2020); Visualizing Community: Art Material Culture, and Settlement in Byzantine Cappadocia, Dumbarton Oaks Studies 46 (Washington, D. C., 2017); Carie Camii (Istambul, 2011); Architecture of the Sacred: Space, Ritual, and Experience from Classical Greece to Byzantium (Cambridge University Press, 2012), ed. with Bonna D. Wescoat; Palmyra 1885: The Wolfe Expedition and the Photographs of John Henry Haynes, with B. Anderson (Istanbul: Cornucopia, 2016) John Henry Haynes: Archaeologist and Photographer in the Ottoman Empire 1881–1900 (2nd revised edition, Istanbul: Cornucopia, 2016). Several of his books were reprinted. He edited Approaches to Architecture and Its Decoration: Festschrift for Slobodan Ćurčić (Aldershot: Ashgate, 2012), with M. Johnson and A. Papalexandrou. His outstanding book Мaster Builders of Byzantium (2nd paperback edition, University of Pennsylvania Museum Publications, 2008) was translated into Russian and Turkish. In this work Robert Ousterhaut for the first time in English speaking tradition is regarding the architecture of Bazantium from the point of view of building art and technology. On the base of the analysis of primary written sources, contemporary archeology data, and careful study of existing monuments the author concludes that the Byzantine architecture was not only exploiting the traditions, but was trying to find new ways of the development of typology and construction techniques, which led to transformation of artistique features. Professor R. Ousterhaut discusses the choice of building materials, structure from foundations to vaults, theoretical problems which solved the master masons of Byzantium. In his recent book Eastern Medieval Architecture: The Building Traditions of Byzantium and Neighboring Lands, (Oxford University Press, 2019) Robert Ousterhaut is going further. He writes in the introduction: “I succeded my mentor at the University of Illinois… I had the privilege and challenge of teaching “Early Christian and Byzantine Architecture” to generations of the architecture students inspired my 1999 book, Master Builders of Byzantium. The work of Robert Ousterhaut, published 2019, is the new and full interpretation of the architectural heritage of Byzantine Commonwealth. The author devoted the first part of his book to Late Antiquity (3–7 centuries), beginning with the relations of Domus Ecclesiastae and Church Basilica, then speaking of Konstantinopole and Jerusalem of the times of St. Constantine the Great, liturgy, inspiration, commemoration and pilgrimage, adoration of relics as ritual factors which influenced the formation of sacred space, methods and materials, chosen by the Bizantine builders with their interaction of the mentality of the East and West. Special attention is given to dwelling, urban planning and fortification Naturally a chapter is devoted to Hagia Sophia and the building programs of Emperor Justinian. The second part speaks of the transition to what is called Middle Byzantine architecture both in the capital and at the edges of the Empire. The third part tells the story of the 9th, 10th and 11th centuries and includes the rise of the monasteries, once more secular and urban architecture, the craft of church builders. Churches of Greece and Macedonia, Anatolia, Armenia and Georgia, as well as of the West of Byzantium – Venice, Southern Italy and Sicily. The chapter is devoted to Slavonic Balkans – Bulgaria and Serbia and Kievan Rus. The last fourth part of the book describes the times of the Latin Empire, difficult for Byzantium, to the novelty of the architecture of Palewologos and the development of Byzantine ideas in the Balkans and especially in the building programs of the great powers of the epoch Ottoman Empire and Russia. There is a lot more to say about the book of professor Robert Ousterhaut, but we have to leave this to the next issue of this magazine, and better give the space to the words of the author – his text on the architecture of Kievan Rus.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective The study sought to assess awareness, perceptions, and value of telehealth in primary care from the perspective of patients. Materials and Methods We conducted a cross-sectional, Web-based survey of adults with access to telehealth services who visited healthcare providers for any of the 20 most-commonly seen diagnoses during telehealth visits. Three groups were studied: registered users (RUs) of telehealth had completed a LiveHealth Online (a health plan telehealth service provider) visit, registered nonusers (RNUs) registered for LiveHealth Online but had not conducted a visit, and nonregistered nonusers (NRNUs) completed neither step. Results Of 32 831 patients invited, 3219 (9.8%) responded and 766 met eligibility criteria and completed surveys: 390 (51%) RUs, 117 (15%) RNUs, and 259 (34%) NRNUs. RUs were least likely to have a primary care usual source of care (65.6% vs 78.6% for RNUs vs 80.0% for NRNUs; P < .001). Nearly half (46.8%) of RUs were unable to get an appointment with their doctor, and 34.8% indicated that their doctor’s office was closed. Among the 3 groups, RUs were most likely to be employed (89.5% vs 88.9% vs 82.2%; P = .007), have post–high school education (94.4% vs 93.2% vs 86.5%; P = .003), and live in urban areas (81.0% vs 69.2% vs 76.0%; P = .021). Conclusions Telehealth users reported that they relied on live video for enhanced access and were less connected to primary care than nonusers were. Telehealth may expand service access but risks further fragmentation of care and undermining of the primary care function absent better coordination and information sharing with usual sources of patients’ care.

Abstract:
Gogol is the most mysterious of all Russian writers, and still little has been done for his recognition. He is more mysterious than Dostoevsky, who goes to great lengths to reveal all the contradictions and all the abysses of his soul. In his soul and in his works, it is seen how the devil struggles with God. Gogol, on the other hand, keeps an unsolved secret in himself and takes him to the grave. There's something really scary about it. Gogol is the only Russian writer with a sense of magic, he artistically conveys the action of dark, evil magical forces. He probably gets it from the West, from Catholic Poland. Terrible Revenge was written with such a spell. The same spell is more implicitly found in Dead Souls and Inspector. Gogol feels bad very strongly. He does not find the consolation that Dostoevsky found in the image of Zosima and in the touch of mother earth. He doesn't have those sticky leaves, nowhere can he escape the evil mouths that surround him. Old school Russian critics can hardly feel the eerie nature of Gogol's art.

Abstract:
The southern thrust of the Rus in the ninth–tenth centuries is to be explained not only by Viking hunger for wealth and glory, but also by the large, rapidly growing market for furs in the Caliphate. In order to reach that market, the Rus had to cross the Khazars’ sphere of influence in the steppes and wooded steppes of the Volga and Don regions. The khaganate was a great power, which presided over many client peoples. It was perhaps awareness of the potential threat posed by the Rus which prompted the Khazars to improve their northern defences in the 830s. There is clear evidence that they then extended their authority over the Rus, their khagan being acknowledged as Rus ruler. The subsequent history of the Rus, up to their successful rebellion in 965, can only be understood if account is taken of Khazar influence and of wider geopolitical circumstances. The following propositions, all to some extent conjectural, are put forward: (1) that the first Rus attack on Constantinople in 860 was a show of force, timed to coincide with several Arab raids on Byzantine territory, and that it was initiated by the Khazars at the urging of the central Abbasid authorities; (2) that Byzantium was seeking a useful ally both against the Balkan Bulgars and against the Sajids of Azerbaijan, when it offered substantial trade concessions to the Rus in 911, that no objection was made by the Khazars, who had recently faced problems from the Oghuz Turks and their Pecheneg clients, and that the treaty resulted in a damaging Rus raid in the Caspian region after 912–913; (3) that there was a serious deterioration in Khazar-Byzantine relations in the 920s; (4) that the second Rus attack on Constantinople in 941 (this time in great force) was instigated by the Khazars, in response to an abortive Rus rebellion; and (5) that the Rus subsequently patched up relations with the Khazars, who allowed them to invade Azerbaijan in 944–945, and made peace with the Byzantines, signing a new trade treaty in 944. Apart from some evidence of assimilation of Khazar customs, it was the division of the Rus into twenty or so distinct principalities which was the principal longterm outcome of Khazar influence.

Abstract:
The vascular response to the muscarinic receptor agonist acetylcholine (ACh) in the presence of selected antagonists was examined in the isolated blood-perfused canine left lower lung lobe under conditions of normal (resting) and elevated vascular tone. At normal vascular tone, ACh (1–5 mumol) produced a dose-dependent increase in pulmonary arterial pressure (Ppa), total pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), and downstream resistance (Rds) without altering upstream resistance (Rus). Pirenzepine (50 and 100 nM), the prototype M1-selective antagonist, and gallamine, an M2-selective antagonist, as well as atropine (50 nM) and secoverine (100 nM), nonselective antagonists, attenuated (P less than 0.05) the ACh-induced increase in Ppa and Rds. With elevated vascular tone induced by serotonin infusion, ACh produced a dose-dependent increase in Ppa in 19 of 25 lobes, although Rus decreased while Rds increased in all lobes. At high vascular tone, pirenzepine or gallamine attenuated the ACh-induced increase in Rds, whereas Rus was not affected. Secoverine and atropine antagonized ACh-induced increases in both Rds and Rus. The pA2 values (i.e., the negative log antagonist concentration requiring a doubling of ACh dose for an equivalent increase in Rds) for gallamine, pirenzepine, secoverine, and atropine were 6.1 +/- 0.1, 7.4 +/- 0.1, 8.3 +/- 0.2, and 10.2 +/- 0.3, respectively. These results suggest that 1) ACh increases PVR in the dog by constricting the venous segments (downstream) of the pulmonary circulation via activation of pulmonary vascular muscarinic receptors under conditions of both normal and elevated vascular tone, 2) both M1- and non-M1-muscarinic receptor subtypes appear to participate in mediating the ACh-induced increase in Rds, and 3) ACh moderately relaxes the upstream (arterial) vessels, especially under conditions of elevated tone.

Abstract:
We determined whether cyclooxygenase or phosphodiesterase inhibition would alter the vasomotor response to acetylcholine in the dog lung. Lower left lobes were removed and then cannulated, ventilated, and pump perfused with autogenous blood at constant flow [6.0 +/- 0.1 ml X min-1 X g-1 lower left lobe (LLL)]. LLLs were challenged with graded doses of acetylcholine (ACh) (100–1,000 nmol) into the arterial cannula before and after administration of either 40 microM indomethacin (n = 5), 1 mM aspirin (n = 4), or 1 mM theophylline (n = 5). ACh produced a dose-dependent increase in pulmonary arterial pressure (Pa) and a decrease in the upstream-to-down-stream resistance ratio (Rus/Rds). Pretreatment with either indomethacin or aspirin potentiated the Pa response to ACh while eliminating the ACh-associated decrease in Rus/Rds. Pretreatment with the phosphodiesterase inhibitor theophylline significantly antagonized the ACh pressor response and decrease in the Rus/Rds. The present study suggests that the pulmonary pressor response to ACh is enhanced with cyclooxygenase inhibition. Our results indicate that ACh stimulates pulmonary vascular muscarinic cholinoceptors to cause vasoconstriction. Additionally or as sequelae to this response, predominantly vasodilatory prostanoids appear to be released.

Abstract:
The author makes a reserch of the structure of Rus society on the basis of vedic law. We have lack of written data about Rus before Christianity. On this basis many scientists, especially foreign, affirm that Rus before Christianity was a wild country: no state, no law, no writing, no religion. But such statesments are fals. Before Christianity Rus had vedic religion, as most of the countries in Europe and Asia. Basic features of state, law, structure of society, rights and responsibilities of individuals were established by vedas. Vedas as the sacred books defined main features of ancient Rus society, that was highly developed. These statements are confirmed by many sources. Many evidences of vedic culture still exist in modern Ukraine. The names of ukrainian cossacs, as the names of modern Ukrainians show, that the ancestors of ukrainian people recognised the devision of society on the same four varnas, as in India. Rus people worshiped vedic Gods: Surya, Indra, Vishnu, Krishna and other. One of the ancient slavonic Gods is named Kolodiy. That is also the name of one of the biggest ukrainian holiday. It has the same roots as the biggest modern holiday in India — Holi (we can compare Kolodiy — Holi — and english “Holiday”). Modern history says, that slavonic people, as the other people of Europe, used to live on the same place and their main activity was agriculture. Their enemies were nomades of asian origin, that lived in steppes. But this concept of the war between europeans as the habitants of the woods and asians as the habitants of steppes is artificial and fals. It was constructed by historians of XIX century. The falsity of this concept was proved by soviet scientists. It is interesting to admit, that scientists of moden Ukraine consider that false historian conceptions were developed by the government of Russian Empire. On one hand, this is true. But on the other hand, the same concepts dominate in Great Britain and other countries. The author claims, that Rus society, as the society of scythians, was devided on varnas according to vedic law. The lower varna lived in woods and their main main activity was agriculture. The higher varna lived as nomades in steppes and grazed the cattle. Also the people of higher varna were warriors. Rus people choosed their kings only among these people. The highest varna was vedic priests — the volhvy. The author also claims, that the knowledge of varna—casta devision of society has high methodological value for the science of history of law and state. The correct understanding of the development of the state, law and political history of Rus, as the other countries of Europe and Asia, is impossible without understanding of the role of this factor.

Abstract:
Abstract In ruminant diets, rumen undegradable starch (RUS) contributes to maintaining rumen health by maximizing post-ruminal starch absorption. This present study aimed to estimate dietary RUS values from their chemical composition. The database was developed from some literature search engines and obtained 41 studies from 17 references. The chemical composition of ash, dry matter (DM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent lignin (ADL), acid detergent fiber (ADF), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), organic matter (OM), starch, and rumen undegradable starch (RUS) was included into the database. Pearson correlation analysis was employed in order to establish the relationship between chemical composition with RUS of feedstuff. The chemical composition with significant correlation (P<0.05) was used to estimate RUS using multiple linear regression. The RUS estimate equation was validated by calculating the root mean square error (RMSE) and plotting the RUS estimated and observed. As a result, RUS was significantly correlated with CP, NDF, ADF, and starch. The equation for estimate RUS was: RUS = 29.814 – 3.148 CP – 0.208 NDF – 0.396 ADF + 0.418 Starch. It is concluded that rumen undegradable starch (RUS) can be accurately estimated from the chemical composition of feedstuff.

Abstract:
Osmanlı ile Rusya arasında I. Dünya Savaşı’nda Kafkas Cephesi’nde şiddetli çatışmalar meydana geldi. Bölgedeki ordusu savaşa tam hazır olamayan Osmanlı devleti, Sarıkamış Harekâtı’nda ağır yara aldı ve sonrasında Rus saldırıları karşısında yeteri kadar savunma yapamadı. Neticede doğuda yaşanan çatışmalar Osmanlı açısından yenilgiyle sona erdi. Ruslar Erzurum’a hâkim olduktan sonra Karadeniz’in doğu kıyıları yönünde askeri operasyonlarına ağırlık verdiler.

Abstract:
This article deals with the usage and combinability of words from the synonymic rows Rusʹ/Rossiia/Russiia, russkii/rossiiskii/rosskii, and russkie/rossiiane/rossy, on the basis of the Catalogue of the Kievan Metropolitans, from the early 18th c.—a little-known work on the history of the Russian Church. In the Catalogue, there are about the same number of place names using either rus- or ros- and the adjectives derived from them (a total of 32 and 37, respectively); however, there is an identifiable relationship between each adjective and a specific noun, apparently reflecting fairly stable collocations. Also, the author notes the predominance of ethnonyms with ros- and a general trend towards editing rus- to ros- in the later copies of the Catalogue and in its sole publication in 1776.
