ObjectiveThe oncological outcome regarding disease-free survival and overall survival after radical vaginal trachelectomy (RVT) is the same as the rates after radical hysterectomy. We aim to analyze predictive and risk factors and death in patients with cervical cancer undergoing fertility preservation by laparoscopic lymphadenectomy and RVT.MethodsThree hundred twenty patients with cervical cancer underwent RVT between March 1995 and February 2013. In our study, we examined recurrence rates analyzed by risk factors. We classified the presence of lymphovascular space invasion, depth of tumor i

Abstract:
This thesis deals with the topic of multi-connected multi-hub networks using the example of European airlines. Over the last decades the airline industry has undergone a period of drastic structural change. Especially mergers and capacity constraints at airports have left some European airlines with networks consisting of several hubs. Therefore this thesis on the one hand identifies and analyses those factors that are important for optimizing networks with multi-connected multiple hubs and on the other hand develops recommendations for airlines that have to deal with such a type of network. Cannabinoids, such as the marijuana derivative Δ9-THC, are known to have CBl receptor-mediated anticonvulsant effects in several animal models of seizures and epilepsy, including the rat pilocarpine model of acquired epilepsy. Therefore, this dissertation was initiated to evaluate the effect of epileptogenesis on the distribution and function of the endogenous CBI receptor system in the rat pilocarpine model, a well-established model of acquired temporal lobe epilepsy. The importance of the TSP arises besides from its theoretical appeal from the variety of its applications. Forskolin stimulates adenylate cyclase by interacting with the catalytic subunit and inhibits platelet aggregation. This inhibition is greatly potentiated by adenosine (Ado) which stimulates adenylate cyclase through membrane-bound Ado receptors. Forskolin is 2-4 fold more potent as an inhibitor of collagen-induced rat platelet aggregation as compared to human platelets (IC50 values, in rat PRP, 0.5-0.8 μM; in human PRP, 1.5-2 μM). However, if the blood is pretreated with adenosine deaminase (ADA), an enzyme that degrades Ado to inosine, the inhibitory action of forskolin is greatly reduced pr

Abstract:
 Evidence suggests that the majority of adults develop detectable levels of immunoglobulin M (IgM) and immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies following infection with SARS-CoV-2 (moderate strength of evidence* [SoE]).  IgM levels peak approximately 20 days after symptom onset or RT-PCR diagnosis and subsequently decline. IgG levels peak approximately 25 days after symptom onset or RT-PCR diagnosis and may remain detectable for at least 120 days (moderate SoE*).  Almost all adults develop neutralizing antibodies in response to SARS-CoV-2 infection, and these antibodies may remain detectable for a

DIPLANOAGAP: Distribution of Plastics in the North Atlantic Garbage Patch Ponta Delgada (Portugal) – Malaga (Spain) 17.08. – 12.09.2019 The expedition POS 536 is part of a multi-disciplinary research initiative of GEOMAR investigating the origin, transport and fate of plastic debris from estuaries to the oceanic garbage patches. The main focus will be on the vertical transfer of plastic debris from the surface and near-surface waters to the deep sea and on the processes that mediate this transport. The obtained data will help to develop quantitative models that provide information about the le

Abstract:
The Northwest Tropical Atlantic Station (NTAS) was established to address the need for accurate air-sea flux estimates and upper ocean measurements in a region with strong sea surface temperature anomalies and the likelihood of significant local air–sea interaction on interannual to decadal timescales. The approach is to maintain a surface mooring outfitted for meteorological and oceanographic measurements at a site near 15°N, 51°W by successive mooring turnarounds. These observations will be used to investigate air–sea interaction processes related to climate variability. This report document
