Abstract:
Recently, we demonstrated that the GSL (glycosphingolipid), GlcCer (glucosylceramide), modulates Ca2+ release from intracellular stores and from microsomes by sensitizing the RyaR (ryanodine receptor), a major Ca2+-release channel of the endoplasmic reticulum, whereas the lyso derivative of GlcCer, namely GlcSph (glucosylsphingosine), induced Ca2+ release via a mechanism independent of the RyaR [Lloyd-Evans, Pelled, Riebeling, Bodennec, de-Morgan, Waller, Schiffmann and Futerman (2003) J. Biol. Chem. 278, 23594–23599]. We now systematically examine the mechanism by which GlcSph and other lyso-GSLs modulate Ca2+ mobilization from rat brain cortical and cerebellar microsomes. GlcSph, lactosylsphingosine and galactosylsphingosine all mobilized Ca2+, but at significantly higher concentrations than those required for GlcCer-mediated sensitization of the RyaR. GlcSph-induced Ca2+ mobilization was partially blocked by heparin, an inhibitor of the Ins(1,4,5)P3 receptor, and also partially blocked by thapsigargin or ADP, inhibitors of SERCA (sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase), but completely blocked when both acted together. In contrast, neither lactosylsphingosine nor galactosylsphingosine had any effect on Ca2+ release via either the Ins(1,4,5)P3 receptor or SERCA, but acted as agonists of the RyaR. Finally, and surprisingly, all three lyso-GSLs reversed inhibition of SERCA by thapsigargin. We conclude that different lyso-GSLs modulate Ca2+ mobilization via different mechanisms, and discuss the relevance of these findings to the GSL storage diseases in which lyso-GSLs accumulate.

Abstract:
This paper traces the intercultural journey of a young Aboriginal girl into the hegemonic white society. Rita Joe crossed the imaginary border that separates her reserve from the other Canadian society living in the urban developed city. Through this play, George Ryga aims at achieving liberation and social equality for the Aboriginals who are considered a colonized minority in their land. The research illustrates how Ryga represented his personal version of the colonial Aboriginal history to provide an empowering body narrative that supports their identity in the present and resists the erosion of their culture and tradition. The play makes very strong statements to preserve the family, history and local heritage against this forced assimilation. It tells the truth as its playwright saw it. The play is about the trail of Rita Joe after she moved from her reserve in pursuit of the illusion of the city where she thought she would find freedom and social equality. In fact the audience and the readers are all on trial. Ryga is pointing fingers at everyone who is responsible for the plights of the Aboriginals as it is clear in the play. He questions the Whites’ stereotypical stand against the Aboriginals. The play is a direct criticism of the political, social and cultural systems in Canada. The paper reveals Aboriginals' acts of opposition to racism, assimilation and colonization as represented in The Ecstasy of Rita Joe.

Przystąpienie w 1915 r. Włoch po stronie Ententy do wojny utworzyło nowy front działań militarnych. Podejmowane na nim boje spowodowały duży napływ jeńców narodowości słowiańskiej w tym Polaków, którzy służyli w armii austro-węgierskiej. Ciężkie warunki obozowe oraz rygor narzucony przez oficerów austriackich wobec szeregowych wzbudziły wśród działaczy polonijnych mieszkających we Włoszech chęć pomocy. Podejmowane wówczas zabiegi w kwestii poprawy warunków spowodowały zgodę władz włoskich na oddzielenie jeńców narodowości polskiej od innych. Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu ukazanie, jak wyglądało życie codzienne jeńców-Polaków, od przybycia do obozu, aż po ponowne wstąpienie w szeregi tworzonej we Francji armii polskiej.

Abstract:
Efter 2000-talets stora skandaler fick den interna kontrollen en central roll på de flesta företagen. En stark intern kontroll kan enligt tidigare forskning skydda företag ifrån bedrägerier, fel och misstag. Denna studien syftar till att förklara variationen i företags upplysningar om intern kontroll. En kvantitativ metod har använts för att lyckas besvara detta syfte och empirin har insamlats ifrån 235 börsnoterade bolags årsredovisningar. Uppsatsen har en teoretisk referensram som är byggd på tidigare forskning samt flera olika teorier. De teorier som kommer att användas är legitimitetsteorin, agentteorin, positive accounting theory och institutionell teori. Utifrån denna referensram har fem hypoteser utvecklats. Dessa hypoteser har sedan testats med hjälp av olika statistiska analyser. Resultatet ifrån denna studien indikerar på att det finns flera faktorer som kan påverka företagens upplysningar om intern kontroll i årsredovisningarna. Slutsatsen påvisade att storlek, ägarstruktur samt tillämpningen av COSO: ramverket påverkar mängden upplysningar som anges i bolagens årsredovisningar. Studien indikerade vidare på att bransch och revisionsbyrå inte påverkar mängden upplysningar som anges i årsredovisningarna.
After the big scandals of the 21st century, internal control became a crucial role amongst most companies. According to previous research, strong internal control can protect companies from frauds, errors and mistakes. This study clarifies the variation in companies’ information concerning internal control. Furthermore, a quantitative method is used to successfully respond to this purpose and the information is composed from the annual reports of 235 listed companies in Sweden. This study has a theoretical framework that is based on previous research and several different theories. The theories that are used is legitimacy theory, agent theory, positive accounting theory and institutional theory. Consequently, based on this outline, five hypotheses are developed. Further, these hypotheses are tested using various statistical analyzes. The result of this study indicates that there are numerous of factors that may affect the company's information regarding internal control in the annual report. Conclusively, the study indicates that size, ownership structure and the application of the COSO framework affect the amount of disclosures in the company's annual reports. In addition, the study indicates that the quantity of information disclosed in the annual reports is not depended on the industry or audit firms used.

The idea of a project is a center of Kelme district. The project aim is to improve the functionality of a place, creating an artistic composition which is an additional information, strengthening the capacity of the national identity. There was created a new leisure ground and managed access to water in the stop area. The rest place will remain on the parking problem. There was used a central composition. There was designed new original benches, lighting, shed and plants around the centre of the composition. There was used cheap ant proof materials, as a stone, metal and wood.

Abstract:
Introduction: Children in early age diagnosed with scoliosis and in need of surgery will grow up to undergo several operations in the back. Parents play a major role in the care of their children during hospitalization. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate parents´ experiences of having a child diagnosed with scoliosis before the age of five undergoing repeated surgeries in the back. Method: The study had a qualitative descriptive design. Five parents with children aged 5-15 years, who have undergone several operations were interviewed about there experiences of the child’s illness and treatment. Phenomenological-hermeneutical analyze where used. Results: The parents felt a sense of shock when they were told about their child’s diagnose and treatment. Continuity of personnel and clear information about there child’s illness and treatment has been considered important. The repeated operations and hospital stays have given them experience of their children’s reactions and needs, which has created a sense of calm with the parents Conclusion: Information and continuity were important component to make the parents feel included and confident. The experiences of the recurring operations provided some form of security as they recognized the child’s reactions as the same time the parents concern about the child relating to the operations will always be.
Inledning: Barn som i tidig ålder får diagnos skolios och behöver opereras, kommer under uppväxten att genomgå flera operationer i ryggen. Föräldrarna har en stor roll vid vården av deras barn. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka föräldrars upplevelser av att ha ett barn som före fem års ålder diagnostiserats med skolios och genomgått upprepade operationer i ryggen. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ deskriptiv design. Fem föräldrar med barn i ålder 5-15 år som genomgått upprepade skoliosoperationer intervjuades om sina upplevelser av barnets sjukdom och behandling. Fenomenologisk-hermeneutisk analysmetod användes. Resultat: Föräldrarna upplevde en känsla av chock när de fick beskedet att deras barn hade skolios och behövde operera ryggen. Kontinuitet hos personalen och tydlig information om barnets sjukdom och behandling har upplevts viktig av föräldrarna. De upprepade operationerna och sjukhusvistelserna har gett föräldrarna erfarenheter om barnets reaktioner och behov under vårdtillfället vilket skapat en trygghet. Sina egna känslor av oro, rädsla och maktlöshet har de försökt att undanhålla barnet. Slutsats: Informationen och kontinuitet var viktiga komponenter för att föräldrarna skulle känna sig delaktiga och trygga. Erfarenheten av de upprepade operationerna gav trygghet då föräldrarna kände igen barnets reaktioner samtidigt som oron över barnet i samband med operationerna aldrig försvinner.

Abstract:
Inledning: Det är relevant att i dagens samhälle vara en god läsare. Förhoppningsvis är skolan platsen som ska hjälpa eleverna att få ett större intresse för läsning. Därför anser vi att denna studie är aktuell för att få förståelse för var och hur eleverna beskriver sina idealiska lässituationer när det gäller nöjesläsning. Det är av stor vikt att läsplatsen är bearbetad och anpassad av lärare så att eleverna får en möjlighet att kunna läsa. Syfte: Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka eventuella könsskillnader i hur flickor respektive pojkar beskriver en idealisk läsplats samt vilken bokgenre flickor och pojkar föredrar att nöjesläsa. Frågeställningarna vi vill få svar på är: Vad kännetecknar pojkars och flickors idealiska läsplats? Vilken bokgenre väljer pojkar och flickor att nöjesläsa? Metod: Metoden vi har valt att använda är inspirerad av Photo Elicitation Interviews. Dock har vi valt att eleverna kommer att rita istället för att ta bilder. Därefter följer en intervju för att följa upp teckningarna och ta reda på vad eleverna har ritat och anledningen bakom det. Resultat: Resultatet visade olika platser som eleverna hade valt att rita när de tänkte på sina idealiska läsplatser med fokus på nöjesläsning. Resultatet visade bland annat att det var åtta elever som hade ritat någonting som passade in under en av studiens analyskategorin, det vill säga Naturtema. 14 elever hade ritat någonting som hade med det egna rummet att göra. Det kunde bland annat vara klassrummet, sovrummet eller de egna hemmet. En utmärkande analyskategori var där relation står i fokus. Här passade elevteckningar in där motivet var någon form av relation i teckningen. Bland annat syns en familjerelation eller religionstillhörighet. Resultatet angående frågeställningen vilka böcker eleverna föredrog att läsa visade att 12 elever läser helst skönlitterära böcker och de andra åtta föredrog faktaböcker. Slutligen delades resultatet upp i analysavsnittet, i hur många flickor respektive pojkar det var som hamnade under de olika analyskategorierna. Det gjordes för att se om det fanns eventuella könsskillnader. Det som var utmärkande när det gäller flickor och pojkar, var det faktum att flerpojkar föredrog faktaböcker än flickor.

Abstract:
Practically since its celebrated premiere in 1967, George Ryga's drama about urban Native Canadians, The Ecstasy of Rita Joe, has enjoyed canonical status in Canada. Yet the same three decades that have seen over 200 productions of Rita Joe have also witnessed radical transformations in the ways First Nations' peoples are represented, heard and perceived in Canada. How has a play written about Natives by a non-Native man in 1967 managed such a long production history on such contentious and unstable ground? How do identity politics influence this piece of theatre, and how does the theatre shape identity politics? As popular notions about Native identities have changed and as Native people continue to represent themselves in and put of court, and on and off the stage, this play about Native people in Canada has been performed and re-performed. But the directors, the venues, the actors, the costumes and sets, the language itself and (most significantly) the resulting characterizations have changed over the years — in subtle and rather dramatic ways. While the words and the fundamental plot of Rita Joe have remained the same, its messages about Native identity has evolved since 1967, in relation to social, political, economic, and cultural changes. Indeed, historical developments impact the particular ways an "Indian" is represented in a particular time; what makes a "real Indian" tends to shift with the political and social needs of the moment. This paper examines the way Native identity is represented in eight productions of Rita Joe mounted between 1967 and 1992, creating a production history that focuses on the relationship between representations of identity and particular moments in time and space and, ultimately, discerns a complex and symbiotic relationship between the aesthetic, creative world and the historio-political world. Perhaps most remarkably, the play stretches to accommodate diverse cultural narratives, gathering meaning from the identity politics of its particular performance place and time.
