Abstract:
In his late unfinished work on aesthetic theory, Adam Smith develops the concept of rythmus to explore such arts as music, dance and poetry. Smith argues that rythmus communicates emotion in a very specific way. For Smith, narrative arts, such as drama or the novel, predominately seek to recreate or represent in the minds of their readership or audience the emotions of the characters that are portrayed. But what we experience through rythmus, by contrast, is an original, and not a sympathetic, feeling. Rythmus is the communicative medium of a paradoxical mode of collective feeling in which each person feels his or her own emotions, and yet all feel the same thing; in which social being is at once non-fungible and shared.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In this work, the author addresses how, in different ways, western composers can be inspired and influenced by the concepts of the rhythmic systems used in both North Indian (Hindusthani) and South-Indian (Carnatic) classical music. Numerous examples are given in the text from the works of various European, American and Canadian composers who received inspiration and creative material from Indian rhythms in different ways. Among these illustrations are classics of 20th century music composed by luminaries such as Olivier Messiaen, Miloslav Kabeláč and Philip Glass (among others) - for whom the highly advanced systems of rhythm from India became a major impetus for the development of their musical language. The author himself is a long-term student and performer of Indian classical music, and in this text, through examples from his own compositions, he reveals and explains different compositional techniques influenced and inspired by the systems of rhythm in Indian music.

In this diplomat theses are considered the effects of light on human beings, especially on physical performance. The goal of this work was to design a suitable method for evaluation of the effects of light on physical performance. Furthermore, to verify designed methods in laboratory environment and the assessment of collected data. After creating this method several people were tested under different light conditions and collected date evaluated. The results are suggesting that high intensity lighting with low wave lengths leads to an increase of physiological activity in organism and therefore to a potential decreasing physical performance.

Abstract:
This paper defines the function of the bass as the basis of harmonic hierarchy at first. After that the different forms of the bass in particular periods of time are followed. Then the problem of suppressing a bass in avant-garde music of the 20th century is brought forward; its new comeback is found in the minimal and the spectral music. The thesis is based on the concept of the affinity of principles which are responsible for the harmonic and the rhythmic hierarchy; this is the reason why the bass function can emerge also in a form of the rhythmic pulsation.

Abstract:
Most of us try to do performance in pure style (mime, drama, clownerie, slap stick, physical theatre, opera, musical, ballet). I am interested in mixing of these styles. Robert Wilson works this way. For him movement is one of the basic means of communication. He works ? as mime theatre does ? with images (pictures). He works with hyperbole and big stylization, that is close to mime theatre. This thesis is interested in mime theatre or theatre of movement and its relation to other elements of theatre. The thesis also deals with the work of Robert Wilson and tries to show the interaction of the elements he uses for the stage image. A how he touches the audience with his work.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The project describes the methods useful for observe changes of heart rate in ECG signal. Heart rate variability become (HRV) the conventionally accepted term to describe variations of NN intervals between consecutive heart beats and generally it is function of instantaneous heart rate or NN interval on time. HRV may be evaluated by time domain or frequency domain measures. In Matlab was developed algorithm, realized like function, which counts HRV parameters from ECG signal series. Analysis in time domain adverts to high correlation between statistic and geometric parameters and similarly with signal HRV. Results of frequency domain analysis shows similarity of power spectral density, which was calculated by two different ways (from interpolated and no interpolated signal HRV). Functionality of developed algorithm was verified on each signal. Project results have signification in progress of analysis ECG signal methods with a view to observe pathological changes in heart rate.

Abstract:
