Abstract:
The Gatsrand (as a series of ridges) is not only a well-known geographical feature in the Western Transvaal but also features prominently as a definite area in the settlement history of the Whites in the Transvaal. In fact, the first farms in this area were registered simultaneously with farms in the neighbouring Mooi River area. Due to the inhabitants' agrarian predisposition up to the early years of the twentieth century, agriculture and stock farming formed the basis of the area's economic infrastructure. Initially the Potchefstroom market was the nearest outlet for products. Later on products were also sold at Johannesburg, Randfontein and Krugersdorp. In the process of development of this enterprise, stock diseases, droughts, poverty and wars continually set the inhabitants back. Prior to the establishment of gold mines (since 1937) in the northern areas of the Gatsrand, which enhanced economic development, the area's development was mainly dependent on the subsistence needs of the surrounding towns. In this respect the building of roads to places like Krugersdorp, Randfontein, Pretoria and Johannesburg was beneficial to the Gatsrand as all these routes passed through this area. Administrative duties were initially performed by a field cornet and later by a justice of the peace, who was subordinate to the magistrate of Potchefstroom. In a similar fashion educational matters were handled by the Potchefstroom School Board. Until 1948, with the exception of Klipdrift School, there were only primary schools on several farms in the area which had from one to four teachers. With outbreaks of illness even the medical services in Potchefstroom rendered help in the Gatsrand. Inhabitants had to travel to Potchefstroom, some of them covering great distances, if they were in need of medical facilities. Initially the nearest centre for worship was also in Potchefstroom. The first congregation in the Gatsrand was founded in 1926 at Fochville with boundaries which included the largest part of this area. Since 1937 gold mine development has provided definite advances in local development. Up to 1948 six towns had been proclaimed, congrega tions were formed, houses and roads were built to accommodate the gro wing number of inhabitants. This resulted in the establishment of numerous enterprises. The number of pupils increased and smaller schools had to amalgamate with larger schools. By 1948 it was apparant that the development in the Gatsrand would be phenomenal due to the rich discoveries of the then established gold mines.

Abstract:
Syftet med denna selektiva kunskapsöversikt var att belysa de faktorer som kan bidra till att äldre människor känner autonomi och möjlighet att själva påverka sina liv trots att de är i beroendeställning till andra för att klara sin allmänna dagliga levnad. Utifrån den valda forskningslitteraturen fokuserade vi oss på tre teman; formella och informella omsorgsgivares betydelse för autonomi, valmöjlighet/delaktighet samt livskvalitet. Kunskapsöversikten tolkades sedan hermenutiskt. Resultatet påvisade att både informella och  formella omsorgsgivare har en stor betydelse för äldres upplevelse av autonomi, där integritet och självbestämmande var ledorden. Äldre människor upplever inte delaktighet i omsorgssituationer eller handläggningsprocessen. Resultatet påvisade att autonomin påverkas av fysisk hälsa samt upplevelse av att bli bekräftad och ha kontroll över sin egen livssituation, vilka kan ha en inverkan på den upplevda livskvaliteten. Avseende delaktighet och livskvalitet var hemmet en bidragande faktor till autonomi. Resultatet analyserades med hjälp av maktteori samt ålderism.
The aim of this literature overview was to map out the factors that can help older people feel autonomy even though they are dependent on others. Based on the selected research literature, we focused on three themes; the informal and formal caregivers importance, choice/participation and quality of life. The results have shown that booth informal and formal caregivers have a significant impact on older people´s experience of autonomy. Elderly people´s autonomy was also affected by physical health and the experience to be acknowledged and have control over their own lives. Both participation, quality of life and being able to remain in their home, was contributing factors to autonomy. Elderly people felt that they were not involved in decision making regarding how help should be organized. The results have been analyzed with the help of power theory and ageism.

Abstract:
Abstract Stacked-chip scale package (S-CSP) is a new packaging technology introduced in the memory components market to effect chip miniaturization, a challenging trend in semiconductor assembly. The package is built by molding two stacked dice (Flash and SRAM) on bismaleimide triazine (BT) substrate. As this novel packaging technology offers solution to the challenge, it also poses complexity in the field of failure analysis in cases that the bottom die is the interest. Deprocessing these stacked dice while maintaining the functionality of the bottom die will be explained in detail. Prior the conduct of failure analysis (FA) and fault isolation (FI), deprocessing the failing unit containing only one die normally consists of chemical decapsulation. S-CSP sample preparation also adheres to this treatment in case the top die is the aim for analysis. On the other hand, if the concern shifts to the bottom die, sequential techniques involving precision polishing to die-to-die adhesive layer, chemical etching of adhesive and residual molding compound, and rebonding the bottom die on ceramic interposer, are employed. With the rebonded S-CSP bottom die, fault isolation could be performed further. This paper will also feature the mechanism behind the blown-up failure, a power test failure in memory devices, encountered during the package development when two types of die-to-die adhesives were selected and used. Consistent with the results of electrical characterization suggesting that S-CSP bottom die as the failing die, passivation damage is uncovered on the bottom die upon separation of the stacked dice. Material comparison points out that the hard, angular glass fillers of the die-to-die adhesive induce the damage. Polymer-filled adhesive performs better than the glass-filled adhesive as indicated by the results of the package characterization. Generally, this case exemplifies a packaging material-related failure. Moreover, the paper could serve as a reference material in the event that feasibility of packaging non-memory components in S-CSP is to be evaluated. The developed methodology of recovering the S-CSP bottom die would be a keystone in proacting for its FA readiness.

Die aus Innen- wie Außensicht evidenten Differenzen zwischen Städten gehen zurück auf vielfältige lokal vorfindbare Prägungen materieller, sozialer und kultureller Art. Sie manifestieren sich im äußeren Erscheinungsbild, aber auch in Kultur und Mentalität der jeweiligen Stadt. „Städtische Eigenlogik bezeichnet die dauerhaften Dispositionen, die an die Sozialität und Materialität von Städten gebunden sind, und konstituiert sich in einem relationalen System globaler, lokaler und nationaler Bezüge“ (Löw 2008a: 49). Das Konzept zielt also auf die Frage, wie eine Stadt „tickt“, wie sie sich in ihren Wahrnehmungs- und Handlungsmustern von einer anderen Stadt unterscheidet (s.a. FGB 2010). Für die beteiligten Forscher stellt sich die Frage, wie die eigensinnige, lokal spezifische Wirklichkeit dieser Stadt im Unterschied zu jener Stadt theoretisch und empirisch erfasst werden kann. Als grundlegender Untersuchungsschritt bietet sich der Städtevergleich an, weil Unterschiede zwischen Städten hier am klarsten sichtbar und damit für die wissenschaftliche Erforschung operationalisierbar werden. „Das Eigene der Städte entwickelt sich sowohl aufgrund historisch motivierter Erzählungen und Erfahrungen als auch im relationalen Vergleich zu formgleichen Gebilden, das heißt zu anderen Städten. Städtische Eigenlogik betont sowohl die eigensinnige Entwicklung einer Stadt als auch deren daraus resultierende kreative Kraft der Strukturierung von Praxis“ (LÖW 2008a: 43). Die Logik einer Stadt wird also in anderen Städten mitgeformt, sie ist ein „ortsbezogener Prozess, der nicht nur an einem Ort stattfindet“ (Löw 2008b: 100) und erfordert daher ein komparatives Forschungsdesign, da das Eigene nur in der Differenz erkannt werden kann (Frank 2010: 14f)“FGB 2010.

U međuvremenu se regionalne historije i geopolitika prisvajaju kako bi se opravdale ekstremističke aktivnosti i narativi širom svijeta. Međutim, taj fenomen je dio šireg trenda koji naglašava sve veći izazov koji predstavlja širenje transnacionalnih ekstremističkih ideologija na internetskim platformama, kako među nasilnim džihadistima tako i među ekstremnim desničarima. Na Zapadnom Balkanu to predstavlja niz specifičnih rizika.

Na zapadnom Balkanu to podrazumijeva niz posebnih rizika.
