Abstract:
The Situation Awareness Behavioral Rating Scale (SABARS) utilizes ratings by expert observer/controllers (O/Cs) to evaluate situation awareness (SA) of infantry small unit leaders. Previous research (Matthews et al., 2004) showed SABARS to be predictive of a variety of performance measures. The current study explored the question of whether small unit leaders could use SABARS to accurately rate their own behavior as an index of their SA. To evaluate this question, 12 Norwegian Army and Navy Academy cadets participating in the role of squad leader during summer training exercises were given the SABARS to complete following an infantry mission. An experienced officer O/C observed the cadets though the execution of the mission and also provided SABARS ratings on the squad leader. Results indicated that “self-SABARS” evaluations did not correlate with SABARS completed by O/C's, and were not predictive of performance criteria. O/C-completed SABARS were, however, predictive of performance criteria thus replicating findings reported previously (Matthews et al., 2004). Implications for assessing SA in the field are discussed.

Abstract:
Savanna is a type of ecosystem in the lowlands or highlands, where the community consists of several trees that are spread unevenly and the lower layers are dominated by grasses. Savanna is very common in very dry areas in Nusa Tenggara. However, in some places in Java, Savanna can also be found. The widest Savanna in Java is Savanna in Baluran National Park, East Java. Information about the occurrence and formation (composition of vegetation) of Savanna in Indonesia, especially in wet areas, such as Java, Bali and Lombok, is still very rare. This paper compares and distinguishes the characteristics of vegetation from four Savanna (Java - Bali - Lombok) in the ‘wet’ area ‘which has a higher rainfall than the eastern region where savanna is more common in the Indonesian archipelago, to find out what the vegetation features are like can tell us about the origin, maintenance and age of this savanna. The results of this study indicate there are different gradients in elevation (along with related climatic factors such as temperature and rainfall) and fire regimes associated with floristic composition in Savanna Java, Bali and Lombok. Each Savanna is characterized by a variety of different woody and grass species, where Invasive Alien Species (IAS), such as Acacia nilotica, Lantana camara and Chromolaena odorata, are very important in distinguishing between Savanna and other savannas? The characteristics of the species from Savanna Baluran indicate that this ecosystem may be an old Savanna, while other Savanna may be newly formed and their existence is maintained by fire or fire.

Abstract:
SummaryForest ecosystems in South Africa are at risk from a variety of anthropogenic threats impacting the faunal species dependent on them. These impacts often differ depending on species-specific characteristics. Range data on forest dependent bird species from the South African Bird Atlas Project (SABAP1 and SABAP2) were analysed to determine links between deforestation, species characteristics and range declines. Half of the species studied were found to have declining ranges. Range change data for these species were correlated with data on changes in land cover from 1990 to 2014. To determine which land cover changes affect extinction, occupancy was modelled for 30 sites across South Africa which experienced a loss of more than 10 species. Most species lost were birds of prey or insectivores. Indigenous forest decreased in 17% (n = 5) sites, while plantations/woodlots decreased in 60% (n = 18) sites. Occupancy modelling showed extinction to be mitigated by plantations in 6/28 species, and forest expansion mitigated extinction in 7/28 species. Responses to deforestation did not appear to be related to particular species characteristics. Half of South Africa’s forest-dependent bird species have declining ranges, with the loss of these species most prominent in the Eastern Cape province. Four responses to changes in forest and plantation cover are discussed: direct effects, with forest loss causing species loss; matrix effects, where plantation loss resulted in species loss; degradation of indigenous forest; and the advent of new forest arising from woody thickening caused by carbon fertilisation, which may not result in optimal habitat for forest-dependent birds.

Abstract:
<strong>Condition and Diversity of Stony Corals in Sabang Waters.</strong> Globally, coral reefs are facing a variety of threats, both natural and human activities. Coral reefs in the waters of Sabang in 2004 were hit by a tsunami and in 2010 an increase in sea surface temperatures caused a bleaching. These resulted in mass mortality of stony corals. This study aims to determine the current condition and the diversity of stony corals in Sabang waters. The study was conducted in May 2015 in ten stations spread over four islands, namely Pulau Weh, Pulau Rondo, Pulau Breueh, and Pulau Nasi Besar. The coral cover is calculated using Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method. The images were analyzed using CPCe 4.1 program with 30 random points in each frame. The number of species and the number of coral colonies are calculated based on the number of species and coral colonies contained in the photo frames along the transect. Based on the results of the analysis, live coral cover ranged 22.45–58.60% with an average live coral cover of 41.99%. Throughout the transect, 148 species of stony corals from 37 genera and 15 families were discovered. In general, stony corals in Sabang waters are in a good condition, not different from the condition of coral reefs in 2005. Open waters have a positive impact on coral growth, especially for the genus Acropora.

Abstract:
The taxonomic identity of the Trimeresurus (Popeia) popeiorum complex from the Isthmus of Kra and to the north was investigated. Several studies over the last decade have produced several specimens and associated mtDNA sequence data for a variety of individuals of the T. popeiorum and “T. sabahi” complexes. Here, we combine four mitochondrial genes (12S, 16S, ND4, and CytB) from all available specimens in GenBank with the addition of five new specimens collected from the mainland, Tanintharyi Region of Myanmar. Maximum Likelihood and Bayesian analyses identified that T. popeiorum sensu lato is paraphyletic with two geographically distinct clades: a northern clade representing populations from northern Myanmar, Laos and northern Thailand and a southern clade representing samples from the Tanintharyi Region and adjacent west Thailand. While the two clades have considerable genetic distance, they appear to be morphologically identical, leading to the hypothesis that the southern clade represents a cryptic, undescribed species. Because they appear to be cryptic species and the limitation of only five specimens from the southern lineage, this does not permit us to formally describe the new species. In accordance to past molecular studies, we uncovered paraphyly and lack of genetic support for the validity of taxa within the T. sabahi complex. However, we suggest recognizing these populations as subspecies within T. sabahi.

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the language identity constructs preferred by Brunei Malay ethnic teens based on one language identity model. This study was conducted at SMK Membakut (2) Beaufort, Sabah. The sample consisted of 56 Brunei Malay ethnic teens age 15 years. The survey method was conducted using a structured questionnaire consisting of 17 language identity constructs. In addition to frequency tables and Likert scales, descriptive statistics are used to calculate percentages, mean and standard deviation of each language identity construct. The language identity constructs consist of a sense of belonging, attitude toward the pronunciation, language and social status, use or exposure of B1, language knowledge, and script or alphabet. The results showed their sense of belonging to the standard Malay was stronger than the Brunei Malay language. But the pronunciation pattern which they desired tends to be the Brunei Malay language. Usage or exposure of the Brunei Malay language as L1 by the Brunei community in the district of Membakut, Sabah was still up-to-the-minute. Thus, the participants chose to get more knowledge of the Malay Brunei language, not the standard Malay. However, in everyday life, teens associated social status with standard Malay which was more prestigious. Therefore, they chose to use standard Malay script or alphabet when sending text messages and e-mail. The pervasive use of Brunei Malay in low variety domains able them to maintain their identity and the continuity of Brunei culture despite government recommendations to assimilate and acculturation.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The Morris J Berman oil spill was a large and significant spill occurring at the height of the tourist season in San Juan, Puerto Rico in January 1994. Two major categories of injury were compensated through a single land acquisition project. Restoration for lost recreational beach use was wholly compensated with the land acquisition project. The eolianite reef injury was mostly satisfied by the same land acquisition restoration project, but with the addition of two other restoration projects. Creating new recreational beach use opportunities by acquiring privately owned coastal habitat was a natural choice for restoration. Demonstrating the resource service link between a variety of coastal habitats and eolianite habitat was more challenging. The Trustee Council undertook a Habitat Suitability Analysis to demonstrate this service linkage. The Habitat Suitability Analysis (HSA) showed that habitats different from eolianite reef, including seagrass, mangroves and shallow hard-bottom, could provide habitat services to biota that rely upon eoliniate habitat for some part of their life cycle. The land acquired contained a variety of coastal habitats including mangroves, herbaceous wetlands, the mouths of two coastal rivers, the Sabana and Pitahaya Rivers, and reef communities immediately offshore. Additionally, the beach habitat on the parcel was identified in both the Leatherback and Hawksbill Sea Turtle Recovery Plans as being important conservation targets thus increasing their ecological importance. After selecting land acquisition as a restoration alternative, the need to identify a seasoned land acquisition partner was apparent given the intense demand and competition for a limited resource such as coastal land in Puerto Rico. Finding the right partner to assist in land acquisition, as well as engaging the public early were key elements in the success of this restoration alternative. Strategies and recommendations for other Trustees considering land acquisition as a restoration alternative are explored as well as the pitfalls and lessons learned.

Abstract:
The estimation of foliar area of plants from leaf dimensions, without using destructive methods, allows evaluation of the factors that affect the growth of crops in an precise manner and in short time intervals. In order to establish a model to calculate the foliar area of pea (Pisum sativum L.) in high tropical environments typical of the Sabana of Bogota, two 2-ha plots of ‘Santa Isabel’ variety peas were sown in each of two different semesters. In each plot 32 points were marked for sampling and at each point 20 leaves were chosen and all leaflets from each leaf were measured for length and width using image analysis. In one plot evaluations were made at 42 and 62 days after sowing; in the other plot only one evaluation was made at 72 days after sowing. It was established that the area of the pea leaflets and stipules can be efficiently calculated using conventional allometric models (length and width) during the vegetative and reproductive stages of the crop. The area of these organs can also be estimated based solely on the length of the lamina (under the formula, 0.336 L2), a model with only one factor that reduced in half the time of evaluation and was applicable equally to both growth cycles and crop ages.</p>

Abstract:
The Covid 19 pandemic causes a variety of reactions among these is anxiety. Anxiety results from social isolation, lack of interaction, limited physical movements and changing stress. Anxiety can certainly be overcome, one by applying tauhid's education of dzmikees. Zikir can serve as a restraint because to think that a servant always remembers god, his prohibitions and commands, so as to make one more cautious in his actions and behavior. One of the applicable Zikir is the Nabi Yunus A. S, with this vessel he was saved by god almighty from the belly of the big fish. Zikir the Nabi Yunus A.S is a prayer uttered by the Nabi Yunus A.S when drawn to god, of a quality he ought not to be patient with. The study aims to introduce and remind that Zikir the Nabi Yunus A.S tauhid's education can be one way of coping with the anxieties of Covid 19. The study is a fieldwork with a qualitative approach. Research has found that; First, the dismay felt by society at this crucial time was still in the normal category; Second, acting, acting, and being patient are helpful in coping with and coping with anxiety during the Covid pandemic 19.

Abstract:
This is another paper on bird distribution dynamics in Biodiversity Observations. The objective of this series of papers is to report on the ranges of bird species as revealed by the Second Southern African Bird Atlas Project (SABAP2, 2007 onwards) and to describe how their ranges have changed since the first bird atlas (SABAP1, mainly 1987 /- 1991), about two decades apart. The African Black Oystercatcher Haemetopus moquini is neither considered a Red-listed species globally nor regionally however, this endemic and iconic bird was expected to decline due to a variety of anthropogenic and natural influences hence, it received much attention from the scientific community. SABAP data supported the findings of some previous projects that looked at both oytsercacther distribution, dispersion and feeding ecology along South Africa's (SA) coastline as well as that of the alien Mediterranean Mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis. Possible reasons for a relatively recent and northern presence along the SA coastline could be due to southern populations experiencing food shortages during the breeding season that result in seasonal dispersion or carrying capacity on the mainland has been reached. Inside the /oystercatcher's breeding range, the alien mussel serves as an additional food source that probably explains the largest SABAP2 reporting rates along the southern regions of the coastline as this area coincides with the /mussel's distribution range.

Abstract:
Background and aims: Natural products, in particular plant extracts, have opened up great chance in the area of drug progress owing to their chemical variety. The Aloe genus has long been known to be used for medicinal uses in countless parts of the world. This study was planned to inspect the phytochemicals and anti-cancer capabilities of Aloe rubroviolaceae, Aloe vera and Aloe sabaea flowers. Materials and Methods: Three types of ethanolic extracts of plants traditionally used in Yemen to treat a variety of diseases have been tested in vitro for their potential anticancer activity on different human cancer cell lines. The cytotoxic activity of the ethanolic extracts of tested plants was determined using eleven strains of human cancer cells, namely: MCF-7 (breast cancer), PC-3 (prostate cancer), HEP-2(human epithelial carcinoma), MNFS-60 (myelogenous leukemia), CACO (intestinal cancer), A-549 (lung adenocarcinoma), HeLa (cervical cancer),RD (rhabdomyosarcoma), HepG2 (hepatocellular carcinoma), HCT-116 (colon cancer), and CHO-K1(Chinese hamster ovary). A colorimetric sulforhodamine B assay was applied to assess the in vitro cytotoxic activity of various extracts. Growth inhibition of 50% (IC50) for each extract was calculated from the optical density of treated and untreated cells. Doxorubicin, a broad-spectrum anticancer drug was used as a positive control. Results: More interesting cytotoxic activity was observed for Aloe vera extract more than Aloe sabaea and Aloe rubroviolaceae, extract. Conclusions: This study presents an initial screening for anti-proliferative activity of a variety of Aloe species flowers extracts on diverse cancer cell lines. Different extracts of Aloe species significantly inhibit the growth of various cancer cell lines in a concentration-dependent manner. Advance researches are necessary to understand the possible mechanism(s) of action of these extract on a variety of cancer cells and separation of active phyto-chemicals. Abstract:
AbstractTraditional agro-silvo-pastoral systems are becoming each day more important, representing multifunctional systems that can contribute to the preservation of agrobiodiversity and of traditional knowledge and associated culture, to the wellbeing of local communities and to sustainable development of rural areas, as testified by the increasing interest regarding the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) Programme of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Despite many researches on traditional agro-silvo-pastoral systems tend to focus only on land uses and land use changes, is also important to analyse the different features that characterize cultural landscapes, as well as to produce detailed spatial maps, in order to preserve and valorise these systems as a whole. The paper intends to compare two traditional silvopastoral systems in two different continents and environments: sabana de morro (El Salvador) and pastures with carob trees (Italy), considered as good example of biocultural diversity. Both these sites are characterized by extensive cattle breeding in a hot climate under the shade of trees, whose fruits can also integrate the animal diet. The study analyzed the traditional landscape structure, with particular attention to the presence of linear elements, that act as property divisions and as ecological corridors, contributing to biodiversity at landscape scale. Sabana de Morro is characterized by a complex system of hedges that enhances the variety of species, while an extensive network of dry-stone walls divides the Sicilian pastures with carob trees. These two different types of linear elements created thanks to the local farmers’ knowledge are made of different materials but can play a similar ecological and social function, acting as a division between one pasture and another, as a delimitation of property boundaries, and are necessary to allow a correct pasture management. Despite the differences, these two traditional linear features deeply characterize the landscape structure and fragmentation, creating important microhabitat for many animal and vegetal species and a network of ecological corridors. For these reasons the conservation of linear features should be promoted at planning level, as well as their restoration. Thanks to the applied methodology, it was possible to identify peculiarities and vulnerabilities of linear features and of the systems as a whole, so that it will be possible to create effective management and conservation tools.

Abstract:
Indonesian culture is very diverse, from Sabang to Merauke. Many people don't know about Indonesian culture. This is because they are rarely introduced to knowledge of arts and culture. In its implementation, efforts to preserve culture experience challenges from the incoming foreign culture. Technological advances have an impact on society, one of which is the proliferation of various kinds of games. The image of games in society is still seen as an entertaining medium rather than a learning medium. The nature of games are challenging, addictive and fun for those who like games. Technological developments also affect people's habits. One of them is smartphones. So a combination is needed by following the development of science and technology today. Busana Apps (Budaya Khas Nusantara Applications) is an application that displays a variety of cultures in Indonesia, from dance, music and fine arts. This application is expected to help the interest of the community, especially children, to get to know the arts and culture in Indonesia, which is a legacy from their ancestors so that they can be maintained, cared for and preserved properly. The results offered in this application are in the form of a puzzle game, which is an interactive game that can stimulate children's thinking patterns. Even with the Covid-19 pandemic like this, that cannot make people visit art venues directly. However, with this application, the public can get to know more about the arts in Indonesia.
