This study examines the Saccostrea cucullata (Sisi) extract's anti-angiogenic effectiveness with the use of varying doses administered into Anas platyrhynchos domesticus (Itik) using Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM) Assay. The study used an experimental design to assess the extract's efficacy compared to a negative control group and to determine the minimum dose required for observable effect, such various doses are: 20 mg/mL, 30 mg/mL, and 50 mg/mL. Saccostrea cucullata (Sisi) extract showed significant anti-angiogenic activity, with the strongest inhibition of blood vessel growth observed at t

An invertebrate critter called Saccostrea cucullata is typically found adhering to substrates like rocks and mangrove roots. The purpose of this study is to ascertain S. cucullata's abundance and distribution patterns. This study was carried out at West Lombok's Bagek Kembar Sekotong Natural Mangrove Area in February 2024. The samples were observed using the 5 x 5 m quadratic transect approach. To ascertain S. cucullata abundance and dispersion patterns, descriptive analysis was performed on the data. Saccostrea cucullata, a species of bivalve mollusk native to the Persian Gulf, is highly prized for its nutritional richness and rapid growth, making it a valuable species for aquaculture. Despite its abundance and potential in the Persian Gulf, the aquaculture industry has faced challenges due to limited understanding of its biology and genetics. This review consolidates current knowledge on the life cycle, reproduction, and environmental factors influencing the growth and nutritional quality of Saccostrea cucullata. It examines the impact of climate variations and identifies key challenges.

This study describes reproductive aspects of the Pinctada capensis (pearl oyster) and Saccostrea cucullata (rocky shore oyster) in Inhaca Island, southern Mozambique (Western Indian Ocean). Adult oysters were collected monthly over two years within seagrass banks for P. capensis and rocky shore habitats for S. cucullata. The animals were evaluated using biometric and histological analyses of the gonads. Of the total population, females were predominant among larger individuals (>55 mm) and males were more dominant among smaller individuals (<55 mm) for both species. The sex ratio was (1

The edible rock oyster (Saccostrea cucullata) is used as food and fish bait along the Indian coast. Morphometric analyses of S. cucullata from Baindur, Karnataka (India) were performed from June 2010 to May 2011, aiming to establish relationships between length and weight (total weight, shell weight, meat wet weight and meat dry weight). Population growth in Cabo Delgado, the northern province of Mozambique, has pushed coastal communities to increase marine resources exploitation to ensure their livelihoods. This has led to a decline of marine resources stocks and to a degradation of coastal ecosystems. To help restoring marine habitats, Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMA) have been established in Cabo Delgado coastal villages and community-based aquaculture projects have been pointed out as one of the promising measures compensating for the limited resources exploitation inside LMMA.
