Abstract:

Abstract:
The presence of Indonesian women writers with the dominant discourse of the power of body, presenting the pros and cons that would not go over. Female body is the language of women that can be poured through the writing of literary works. Helene Cixous brought the spirit of "writing the body" to motivate women authors to express himself through written discourse, which so far has been dominated by men. Cixous spirit is also promoted by Dinar Rahayu appear in the novel Ode untuk Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch. Dinar Rahayu voicing complexity of urban women's voices in this novel through several migration symbolic of the power of the female body. Migration is enriched by the presence of symbolic power in a sound body of Greek and Scandinavian mythology and Leopold voices in his work Venus in Furs. Through in-depth reading on the symbolic migration brought to the Ode untuk Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch through the voices of the characters and the particularities of naration techniques can be seen that this novel (as well as other sexist novels) is not merely a commodity that exploit sexuality pornography but rather an attempt to author urban female voices will be the "body power". This study uses content analysis method that begins with the reading of literature, heuristic and hermeneutic, and take advantage of intertextuality approach.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In the long line of French Sade studies, Deleuze's essay Coldness and Cruelty marks out a special place. By discussing Masoch both in addition to and in contrast to Sade, Deleuze reveals the stakes of his book: he wants to unmask the concept of sadomasochism as a clinical nonentity. In their paper, the authors explain the arguments supporting this project and show their relation to Deleuze's reading of Bergson. They then argue that there is a second, similarly Bergsonian criticism of Freudian psychoanalysis operating in the background of Coldness and Cruelty. This more wide-ranging criticism takes Freud to task for conceiving perversion, like neurosis, in Oedipal terms. This conception, Deleuze holds, forgets that perversion and neurosis represent two different worlds that essentially have nothing to do with each other despite crossing in clinical experience.

Abstract:
The authors investigate to what extent differential equations can describe the dynamics of love relations in masochistic novellas. Unlike previous researchers, they base their analysis not only on psychological credibility. They relate their model to the ideas of literary criticism. The authors compare Ivan Turgenev's Torrents of Spring with the most famous masochistic novella Venus in Furs by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. To prove that the dynamics of masochistic relationships differ from that of the other types of romance they also investigate the plot of the undoubtedly non-masochistic story by Anton Chekhov “The Lady with the Dog.” Instruments of literary criticism coupled with mathematical modelling allow the authors to reproduce the temporal and spatial dynamics of love plots in fiction more precisely and clearly than it was done in previous research.

Abstract:
That forgetfulness constitutes a force detrimental to the ability of keeping promises is commonplace. Promises rely on a stable memory; in order to be realized they must be sheltered from the onslaught of oblivion. This article takes a closer look at the mutual exclusivity of promising and its forgetting— and discovers, at the very foundation of every promise, the unlikely expression of a promise of oblivion. Through readings of Sacher-Masoch, Nietzsche, Kafka, and others, this promise of oblivion emerges as the very condition of possibility of all promising: oblivion must be promised for promises to be. Thus, what on the surface seems mutually exclusive turns out essentially entangled: promising premised on oblivion. In a coda invoking Heidegger and Blanchot, the structure of language itself is revealed to be promissory—and, as such, forgetful.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
This article presents the ways to verbalise the stereotypic beliefs about Ruthenians, considering linguistic and extralinguistic factors. The study is based on the German-language literature, namely of works of Alexander von Guttry, Salcia Landmann, Leopold von Sacher-Masoch and Karl Emil Franzos written during the period of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria (1772–1918), or simply Austrian Galicia. The selection of works was carried out according to the following criteria: German-language source text, time of writing the work, its plot, existence of Ukrainian translation in the postmodern era. The stereotypes about Ruthenians were singled out using the keywords Ruthene, ruthenisch, Ukrainer, ukrainisch, рycuн, рycuнсьκuŭ, yκраїнеųь, yκраїнcьκuŭ. The stereotypes themselves are considered as simplifying ideas about the character, appearance, daily life, habits and traditions of a certain social group, in this case – the Ruthenians as one of the largest ethnic groups in Austrian Galicia. The implementing of Ruthenians stereotyping are represented on the level of lexis and grammar, context and discourse. The research results show that stereotypes about Ruthenians tend to have negative connotations, which is primarily due to their miserable situation in the Empire. However, the authors fondly described the positive qualities of the Ruthenians’ character, such as hospitality, talent for singing, kindness. Within the framework of a cultural approach in translation studies, which takes into account the cultural, social and historical factors of writing the source and target texts, the ways of verbalising the Ruthenians stereotyping in modern translation are examined.
