The produced gas contains approximately 15% CO2 and 0.6% H2S with temperatures up to 180°C. For the corrosivity of casing gas, CO2 corrosion modelling predicts a corrosion rate (CR) of 600 mpy (15 mm/y). Mackinawite corrosion modelling predicts a rate of 270 mpy (6.75 mm/y). The results from both corrosion models predicts that the casing gas should be severely corrosive under these conditions. However, results from corrosion coupon (CC) and p

These are (but not restricted to) well pads, bitumen treatment, deoiling, produced gas and evaporator systems. Abstract:
Abstract Heavy oil extraction using steam flooding methods such as Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) has been used for several decades; yet no severe corrosion damage has been reported despite the presence of 35-40 mol. % CO2 and 2-3 mol. % H2S in the steam chambers. As acid gas partial pressures, pH and temperature traditionally drive corrosion control philosophies, this lack of observed corrosion was not expected. Thermodynamic modeling has been performed to obtain related pH profiles and to estimate carbon steel corrosion rates, in order to better understand the corrosive behavior exhi

Abstract:
Relevant geospatial data layers are required for developing next generation ecological response models for specific reaches of 5 rivers in Central Texas: Colorado, Concho, San Saba, Llano, and Pedernales Rivers. Therefore, a collaborative effort between Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Texas State University, and Texas A&M University was undertaken to acquire and curate a collection of biological and physical datasets to be utilized as inputs for next generation ecological response models at various spatial scales (watershed, river buffer, and point). The objective was to a

Abstract:

Research objectives a. Analyze transgenic plants that undergo rapid senescence due to increased expression of hexokinase. b. Determine if hexokinase-induced senescence accelerates natural senescence using senescence specific promoters that drive expression of a reporter gene (GUS) and a cytokinin producing gene (IPT - isopentyl transferase). c. Isolate and analyze plant genes that suppress sugar-induced cell death (SICD) in yeast, genes that potentially are involved in programmed cell death and senescence in plants. Background to the topic Leaf senescence is a regulated process of programmed c
