Full textThe strong presence of the industrial activity and a high density of population gathered in many boroughs ans small cities individualize the area of Monastir within Tunisian space. Belonging to the arid and entire Sahel turned towards the culture of the olive-tree, this territory very early made great strides of the craft industry which encourages the public policies to develop establishments of textile industry to with it. The industrialization of the area of Monastir reproduces the industrial choices of the Tunisian State since the periods interventionists until the policy of levelling and opening to the foreign investments. Gradually the area of Monsatir becomes a workshop of the textile and clothes industry and the arrival of the foreign capital multiplies the establishments producing under customs. The analysis of the branches of activities draws up a precise state of brickyard, ceramics, oil mills before devoting a development essential with the essential activity of the textile-clothing. The thesis illustrates the importance of the social organization of the production for an industry using the potential of many workers and qualified rather well. The analysis of the localizations of the establishments in the various types of spaces and inside the cities shows with precision the articulation between the industrial geography and the space organization of the area : the principal activity supports the dynamism of the small cities, true “poles” within the Eastern Sahel

Full textIn Tunisia, as in the entire Arab-speaking world, suffering and pain are perceived as the combined affect of qaḍā' wa qadar (predestination and fatalism) and the result of harmful supernatural forces such as the evil eye and djinns. Prevention methods are as varied as the evil threatening sources. Apart from prayer and du'a (prayer), other means that varies according to the circumstances may have a symbolic, if not an effective value (amulets) such as the protective (bloody) sacrificial rites known as dhbīḥa. This blood shed helps to immunize against accidents, diseases and other misfortunes by a protective and preventive power. This dissertation is a study of these protective rituals, a search of the origins, evolution and symbolic of these sacrifices non-dictated by the Sunnah. As part of this work, we are going to study the sacrificial practices as being structured, and having a structural role. We'll observe then the ritual practices related to the rites of passage , celebration and festive setbacks in which the effusion of sacrificail blood plays an important role, and has a magic and efficient effect. Beside this blood value or rather the sacrificial blood effusion, this paper will consider the social role of the sacrificial meat which consumption is shared with the community members. The dhbīḥa marks all the major stages of life, from birth to death, and various events such as sharing a new harvest, calving in the herd, etc. These dhbīḥa are addressed not directly to Allah, but to intermediaries, or intercessors Wuli, or the Jinn. Presumably, the purpose is only to appease the spirits or to obtain the intercession nearby Allah in favor of the sacrificing, essentially to ensure his protection. We've btried all along this work to highlight how, through this system, a griup expresses its vlues, social structure and beliefs. In this approach, we consider dhbīḥa and subsenquently the sacrificial "kitchen" a means of social expression. Indeed, given that meat is cooked, consumed, and particularly offered, food sharing seems to be the basis of sacrificial practices

Full textConservation of sensitive areas is now seen as an urgent measure to implement national strategies and intergovernmental organizations. This paper seeks to undertake a phased approach to contemplate a wetland typical “Sebkhat El Kelbia”. Several lines of research are adopted. The first is devoted to the delineation of the major determinants responsible for building natural landscape of this area. The second relates readings landscape to reveal elements of reversibility and irreversibility landscapes. While the third line of research highlights the existence of genuine remains of centuriation crowning the sabkha. Analytical research tools based on several transdisciplinary, including cartographic interpretation, zoning boundaries and natural landscape, restitution archaeological landscape demonstrates the importance of the study area in terms ecological heritage and its true potential landscape. Characterization of landscape entities highlights the presence in the Sahel region of Tunisia, facies rather like "water tank" and other facies type "plot irreversible change." The first can achieve up to 80% of the land in a wet year and only one occupation narrowed to 10% in a dry year. Note that the agrarian facies in the study area is typical as evidenced by its traceability from centuriation which uses proprietary suggest knowledge in terms of faires ancient masters of the soil, water and vegetation. The analysis of this territory wrongly considered "marginal" shows that different interventions (policy, forest and land) interact and act in a way direct forms of landscapes and are a must for any planning and / or a territorial reorganization. Geomediation landscape settings are also available, which are based on the densification of the halophyte vegetation type and feed applications in connection with farming in the region. The implication of the differential management of hybrid "arridiculture - agri-leisure of a wetland" is another resource for the recovery of threatened areas

Full textTunisia, the country from which sparked the revolutionary uprising in December 2010, presents a political and economic situation that has continued to evolve in a direction that is not always positive. It is characterized by instability and sometimes anarchy, which has had repercussions in all areas, particularly in the vital area of water, which management has been severely disrupted. In this perspective, this resarch is intended, based on a series of surveys and interviews, to contribute to a better understanding of the risks of water scarcity for the various actors in charge of the management of the resource in the area of the Tunisian Sahel (Sousse-Monastir). It proposes a critical analysis of the different interactions between the factors of scarcity and the indicators of water crisis in connection with the socioeconomic and geopolitical situation. The results of these investigations show a very delicate situation especially after the Revolution. However, levels of scarcity vary from one county to another eventhough the feeling of water stress is widespread in the tunisian Sahel. The study also offers a spacialized dataset that can be integrated into a Geographic Information System (GIS), as well as a battery of individual and collective adaptation measures for a more efficient water management based on taking into account perceptions
