Abstract:
The article presents a summary of the ideas of different scholars concerning the real knowledge that Saint Augustine had of the Greek Language, to point out that the competence of Saint Augustine was increasing over the years. It also addresses the relationship between Saint Augustine and Saint Jerome regarding the translations of the Bible, and the value that Saint Augustine attributed to the LXX text. Subsequently, some examples taken from the 'enarrationes in Psalmos' help to stress the work of the augustinian emendatio of the Latin text, taking as point of departure the Greek text, as well as the use the Greek text in Augustine’s own textual interpretation of the psalms.

Abstract:
The Partridge Island block is a newly identified tectonic element in the Saint John area of southern New Brunswick, located south of and in faulted contact with Proterozoic and Cambrian rocks of the Ganderian Brookville and Avalonian Caledonia terranes. It includes the Lorneville Group and Tiner Point complex. The Lorneville Group consists of interbedded volcanic and sedimentary rocks, subdivided into the Taylors Island Formation west of Saint John Harbour and West Beach Formation east of Saint John Harbour. A sample from thin rhyolite layers interbedded with basaltic flows of the Taylors Island Formation at Sheldon Point yielded a Late Devonian – Early Carboniferous U–Pb (zircon) age of 358.9 +6/–5 Ma. Petrological similarities indicate that all of the basaltic rocks of the Taylors Island and West Beach formations are of similar age and formed in a continental within-plate tectonic setting. West of Saint John Harbour, basaltic and sedimentary rocks of the Taylors Island Formation are increasingly deformed and mylonitic to the south, and in part tectonically interlayered with mylonitic granitoid rocks and minor metasedimentary rocks of the Tiner Point complex. Based on magnetic signatures, the deformed rocks of the Tiner Point complex can be traced through Partridge Island to the eastern side of Saint John Harbour, where together with the West Beach Formation, they occupy a thrust sheet above a redbed sequence of the mid-Carboniferous Balls Lake Formation. The Tiner Point complex includes leucotonalite and aegirine-bearing alkali-feldspar granite with A-type chemical affinity and Early Carboniferous U–Pb (zircon) ages of 353.6 ± 5.7 and 346.4 ± 0.7 Ma, respectively. Based on similarities in age, petrological characteristics, alteration, iron oxide – copper – gold (IOCG)-type mineralization, and deformation style, the Partridge Island block is correlated with Late Devonian – Early Carboniferous volcanic–sedimentary–plutonic rocks of the Cobequid Highlands in northern mainland Nova Scotia. Deformation was likely a result of dextral transpression along the Cobequid–Chedabucto fault zone during juxtaposition of the Meguma terrane.

Selon une étude publiée dans Le Naturaliste canadien, les marées de l’estuaire du Saint-Laurent ne seraient pas plus grandes aux équinoxes qu’à d’autres moments de l’année. Cette idée de marées plus grandes aux équinoxes relèverait plutôt d’une croyance populaire sans fondements théoriques, répandue même parmi la communauté scientifique. Il est démontré ici que ces conclusions contredisent en fait la théorie des marées et découlent d’un problème de sous-échantillonnage des données de marées. Une analyse basée sur 30 ans d’observations horaires du niveau de la mer à la station Rimouski montre que, statistiquement, les marées sont bel et bien plus énergétiques autour des équinoxes, en accord avec la théorie des marées. Cependant, cette conclusion statistique n’indique pas nécessairement que les marées les plus fortes d’une année particulière se rencontrent précisément aux jours des équinoxes puisque l’augmentation du marnage vers les équinoxes est faible comparativement aux variations de marnages associées au cycle vive-eau/morte-eau (2 semaines) qui n’est pas synchronisé avec les équinoxes. La théorie des marées est expliquée simplement et un schéma est proposé pour illustrer l’influence du cycle équinoxe-solstice sur les marées.

The sources in which Egidio 's texts of De Ecclesiastica Potestate anchors its roots are multiple. But on this occasion we would like to centre on the constant and crucial quotations from Saint Augustine appearing on Egidio 's works. We believe that on the basis of sorne particular texts but taking a very different point ofview in socio-political and cultural questions, Egidio directs the interpretation of Saint Augustine's work towards horizons quite apart from the Saint's views on the subject and even nonappearing on other writings of Saint Augustine. In fact, Egidio affirms not distinction but the reduction and radical subordination of the temporal power to the spiritual authority.

Apres une approche methodologique (premiere partie), l'analyse de type sociolinguistique des interventions publiques du saint-siege, dans le cadre restreint des institutions europeennes occidentales, a permis de degager quatre domaines particuliers, presentes dans leur developpement chronologique : le politique, l'economie, la culture et le social (deuxieme partie). Certains croisements de ces domaines ont alors permis d'envisager l'objet d'etude, comme partie du discours social de l'eglise, sous l'angle des sciences politiques (troisieme partie) et sous l'angle des sciences economiques (quatrieme partie). Ce travail a alors conduit a envisager un modele heuristique de production de ce discours (cinquieme partie). Ce modele general met en oeuvre l'ideologie, l'ethique et la theologie. Mais loin de se reduire a un tel modele, il se differencie en deux sous-modeles : l'un associant l'ideologie, la teleologie et la redemption et l'autre associant l'utopie, la deontologie et la creation. Ces deux sous-modeles sont en tension dynamique l'un par rapport a l'autre : le premier pouvant etre qualifie de discours de l'eglise "ad intra" et le second de discours de l'eglise "ad extra"
The first part, a methodological approach, is followed by a sociolinguistic analysis of the public position of the holy see confined to the field of the west european institutions. The end results of this analysis lead to four different fields and their chronological development : politics, economics, culture and social issues. Investigation on the links between these different fields has led to consider the object of the study as part of the social views of the church examined in the light of political science and of economics. This research has led further to consider a heuristic structure used by the holy see in expressing its views. It generally tends to be based on ideology, ethics and theology but equally extends to two inter-acting subdivisions : ideology, teleology and the redemption on the one side ; utopia, deontology and the creation on the other. The first subdivision could be called the "ad intra" position of the church and the second the "ad extra" position

Au cours du siècle précédent, de nombreuses activités anthropiques nucléaires, militaires et civiles ont introduit de quantités importantes des radioéléments artificiels dont le césium 137 dans l’environnement au niveau de l’atmosphère mais surtout au niveau du sol qui est un réservoir important du césium. Tout ceci a provoqué la contamination en éléments radioactifs de grandes surfaces à l’échelle de la planète, aucun continent n’a été épargné. Du fait de son analogie chimique avec le potassium, le césium est facilement transporté et transféré dans les écosystèmes et les propriétés physico-chimiques des sols modulent la forme et la distribution du césium dans les différents compartiments du sol. L’objectif du présent travail est d’estimer et de décrire à l’échelle d’un bassin versant de petite taille, l’étendue de la variabilité de la contamination des sols par le 137Cs dans le sol et de déterminer si un ou plusieurs facteurs environnementaux (altitude, teneur en matière organique du sol, mode d’occupation des sols) sont susceptibles d’expliquer tout ou partie de la variabilité observée. Une des originalités de l’approche retenue pour la mise en place de la stratégie d’échantillonnage est d’avoir défini une stratégie basée sur le fonctionnement écologique du milieu à l’échelle du bassin versant (environ 300 km2). Cette stratégie s’appuie sur les caractéristiques fonctionnelles du milieu dont le substratum géologique, la topographie et le type d’occupation du sol. La stratégie d’échantillonnage développée dans le présent travail permet de tenir compte de l’hétérogénéité de la distribution spatiale du césium et de la variété écologique du bassin versant. Cette approche repose sur l’identification a priori d’unités fonctionnelles homogènes : 275 unités homogènes ont été ainsi déterminées. L’analyse statistique des résultats de contamination a permis de mettre en évidence de très fortes hétérogénéités dans la contamination en césium des sols à 0-5 cm de profondeur sur l’ensemble du bassin versant. Cette hétérogénéité spatiale peut s’expliquer par l’hétérogénéité spatiale du devenir du césium après les retombées, variabilité liée au fonctionnement et aux propriétés des sols. Les sommets en tant que barrière orographique, occupés par de la végétation forestière, jouent un rôle important par leur capacité d’interception des poussières et d’aérosols. Ainsi, le mode d’occupation des sols a une importance réelle sur la distribution spatiale de la contamination et les teneurs en césium-137 les plus élevées sont à rechercher dans les sols à fort taux de matière organique. Un certain nombre de zones sensibles sont localisées dans les parties Sud et Sud-est du bassin versant
In the prévious century, many human activities nuclear, military and civilian have introduced sigificant quantities of artificial radionuclides like caesium-137 in the environment in terms of the amosphere, particularly in the soil level which is an important reservoir of caesium. The objective of this study was to estimate and discribe the scale of a small watershed, the extent of variability of soil contamination by the 137 Cs in the soil. Also to determine if one or more environmental factors (altitude, organic matter content of soil, land cover) may explain part or all of the observed variability. 275 soil samples were taken from the aera of the watershed of the Upper part of te Doubs River upstream of Saint-Point lake, which is located in the Jura mountains according to a sampling strategy designed to evaluate the extent of spacial variability of 137 Cs activities in the study aera and to identify its main sources. 137Cs activities ranged between about 1 000 and 12 000Bq. M-2 with an average of approximately 3 600Bq. M-2. The spatial variability of the contamination is high: 137Cs activity shows statistically sigificant links with altitude, soil organic matter and land cover. These results are discussed in terms of assessment of radioactive contamination in mountain aeras at a regional scale. They show that to be satisfactory, a sampling stategy muste necessarily take into account the various types of land cover

Abstract:
Le lac Saint-Point, situé dans la Haute Chaîne du Jura (à proximité de Pontarlier) constitue l'un des systèmes lacustres naturels les plus importants de France. Une campagne de forage (2005) a permis l'extraction d'une séquence continue de 12,5 m dans sa partie profonde. La chronologie de cette séquence, basée sur diverses méthodes de datation (datations radiocarbone, téphrochronologie...), couvre une période s'étendant du Tardiglaciaire à l'actuel. L'approche multi-paramètres de cette séquence consiste en une caractérisation des fractions inorganiques (minéralogie, géochimie des éléments majeurs, granulométrie, assemblages d'ostracodes) et organiques (teneurs en carbone organique, pollen). La comparaison de l'évolution des différents marqueurs dans les différents compartiments du système (sols, végétation, colonne d'eau) souligne différentes périodes d'évolution sous l'influence des forçages climatiques et anthropiques. Ainsi, la séquence se compose de deux ensembles sédimentaires distincts, associés au Tardiglaciaire d'une part (environ 18 500 à 11 300 cal BP), et à l'Holocène d'autre part (environ 11 300 cal BP à l'actuel). Cette bipartition est la conséquence d'une explosion de la production authigène, au début de l'Holocène, et de l'évolution de la pédogénèse, associée à la mise en place d'une forêt (de type chênaie-mixte) sur le bassin versant. Cette évolution du système correspond à l'Optimum holocène. Une nouvelle transition apparaît à 6 300 cal BP. Cette transition marque le passage depuis l'Optimum holocène vers le Néoglaciaire, sous l'influence du forçage orbital. Le couvert végétal évolue alors vers une hêtraie-sapinière, entraînant une modification des sols et de leur érodabilité. Malgré l'observation d'indices polliniques d'anthropisation ténus à partir de 7 200 cal BP, l'impact anthropique sur la réponse sédimentaire ne semble discernable qu'à partir de 2 600 cal BP. Il revêt deux formes distinctes. De 2 600 cal BP à 1 200 cal BP, les activités agricoles (céréales) génèrent une accentuation du détritisme global. A partir de 1 200 cal BP, une décroissance des flux silicatés, contemporaine d'une accentuation des indices polliniques d'anthropisation, serait la conséquence d'une évolution des pratiques agricoles vers un pastoralisme dominant.

La zone de gestion intégrée de l’eau de la rivière Nicolet et la partie basse de la zone intégrée de l’eau de la rivière Saint-François dans le Centre-du-Québec se trouvent dans un secteur où les eaux souterraines ont fait l’objet récemment d’un projet de recherche dans le cadre du Programme d’acquisition de connaissance sur les eaux souterraines (PACES) du Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MDDELCC, 2013). La diffusion des résultats des projets issus du programme PACES présente des défis très particuliers. Il est nécessaire de synthétiser un grand nombre de données de manière efficace : modèle hydrostratigraphique, topographie, hydrographie, données géologiques sur les unités rocheuses et quaternaires, description des forages, propriétés hydrauliques des matériaux, contexte hydrogéologique, utilisation de l’eau souterraine, qualité de l’eau, activités humaines ayant un impact sur la qualité de l’eau (MDDELCC, 2013). Ce projet de maîtrise tente donc de répondre à la question de recherche suivante : « Comment synthétiser et visualiser clairement les connaissances sur les eaux souterraines ? » Ce projet de maîtrise a donc été réalisé pour résoudre la problématique de la diffusion des résultats à l’aide du système de cartographie dynamique multiéchelle (SCDM). Il est appliqué tout particulièrement à la zone de gestion intégrée de l’eau de la rivière Nicolet et à la partie basse de la zone intégrée de l’eau de la rivière Saint-François dans le Centre-du-Québec (PACES-NSF). La méthodologie utilisée a été efficace pour développer un système qui permet d’intégrer des données à référence spatiale sur les eaux souterraines et de diffuser visuellement les résultats spécifiques pour ce projet PACES-NSF sur Internet. Le SCDM permet aux acteurs de l’eau et aux gestionnaires du territoire d’avoir une vision régionale sur les informations et les caractéristiques des eaux souterraines. Les logiciels libres et ouverts utilisés dans ce projet ont été des choix appropriés, efficaces et spécialement économiques. Le SCDM peut être utilisé pour la diffusion des résultats des projets de caractérisation des eaux souterraines des bassins versants de toute la province. Il peut également être adapté à l’étude des eaux de surface.

Women made, and continue to make history in Point St. Charles, and in doing so, transform selves, groups and community.
Building on the literature on class and gender in community organising, read through the conceptual lens of "translocational positionality" (Anthias, 2002a), I tell a story of the journeys of a group of ten women activists through four decades of neighbourhood organising. I show that although all the women were first involved in citizens' committees around practical needs such as housing, welfare, urban renewal and education, most of them, stimulated by feminist agitators in their midst, came to new awareness about gender inequalities, to new and deepening analyses, and to individual and collective actions around strategic gender needs. Part and parcel of this spiral of change (Nadeau, 1996) were the tensions that emerged with their families, friends and neighbours, and even with the agitators themselves. Out of these tensions came transformations at the macro level---community, public opinion and government, at the meso level---organisational structures and cultures, and at the micro level---family and selves.
Next I do a metanarrative on the methodology that underlies the project upon which my thesis is based, one that borrows from feminist community organising practice (Gutierrez & Lewis, 1994) to deal with the many ethical dilemmas inherent to feminist life history methodology (Geiger, 1990). In line with the notion of "translocational imaginings in dialogue", the project was conceptualised to pre-figure power-with (Starhawk, 1987) in order to construct narratives of belonging that break with processes of differentiation and stratification. The project is about doing community history with the people who make that history. Because of this, when tensions emerged around power relations, instead of paralysis, individual, interpersonal and collective transformations emerged.
Through this work, I am not only releasing new voices into the collective narrative, but I am also contributing to debates on life history methodology. And, my thesis, and the other historical products that will emerge from this project, will enable organisers and activists to learn from the past, and will, hopefully, entice younger people to get involved in community activism.

Les plateaux océaniques, présents dans tous les océans, sont généralement l’expression morpho – structurale de l’interaction entre une dorsale océanique et un point chaud. Ils constituent un réservoir important d’informations sur la physique et la chimie du manteau et sont donc l’objet d’études pluridisciplinaires, tant d’un point de vue géophysique, que géochimique et géologique. D’un point de vue cinématique, l’activité importante des points chauds est souvent associée à une rupture continentale ou à une réorganisation du mouvement des plaques tectoniques dans l’espace et dans le temps. Ainsi, dans l’Océan Indien, de nombreux plateaux océaniques se sont mis en place par interaction dorsale-point chaud, dont certains lors de grandes réorganisations cinématiques. La Province Nord du Plateau de Kerguelen et le Plateau de Saint-Paul & Amsterdam se sont mis en place à deux époques différentes, dans un contexte d’interaction dorsale-point chaud avec deux points chauds différents, mais impliquant la même dorsale SE Indienne, et affectant les mêmes segments de cette dorsale. L’analyse des données de géophysique a permis d’apporter de nouveaux éléments sur le mode de mise en place du Plateau de Saint-Paul & Amsterdam et des structures au pied de la Province Nord du Plateau de Kerguelen, ainsi que sur l’évolution de la segmentation de la dorsale SE Indienne lors de son interaction avec les points chauds de Saint-Paul & Amsterdam et de Kerguelen. L’intégration de ces éléments dans la reconstruction cinématique du SE de l’Océan Indien depuis l’époque de la séparation entre le Plateau de Kerguelen et Broken Ridge (~ 45 Ma) a permis de mettre en évidence l’impact de ces interactions dorsale-point chaud sur la géodynamique régionale.

At the height of the “futurist moment,” just as painters across Europe were creating the first works of pure abstraction, in Paris the dramatist Valentine de Saint-Point announced a radical dance theory and performance. While Saint-Point is regularly aligned with the futurist movement, she was admired by a large roster of avant-garde artists and writers who were simultaneously theorizing and producing abstraction along the parallel paths of neosymbolism, futurism, cubism, and the philosophies of theosophy and Bergsonism. Saint-Point’s dance theory sought to create an abstract experience of vision by merging optical sensation with totalizing synesthetic and kinesthetic prompts. This chapter draws together this synesthetic vision and the similar perceptual estrangement of the painterly tactics of all-overness, musical rhythm, and collage in pioneering works of abstract painting by artists such as František Kupka, Gino Severini, Piet Mondrian, and Wassily Kandinsky.

This chapter offers a new explanation for why and how the contemporary lay civic saint seemingly disappeared over the fourteenth century. Instead of seeing mendicant spirituality as inherently oriented toward “mystical and paramystical phenomena,” and thus as pushing lay sanctity in that direction, it argues that the stress placed on medieval gender and power norms by women's participation in the lay penitential movement as well as the cults they earned for their efforts ultimately led to the end of the contemporary lay civic saint. From the second half of the thirteenth century, hagiographers—who were increasingly mendicant friars—responded to the female lay penitents garnering saintly reputations by advocating for an ideal lay life in which visions trumped a commitment to civic issues and charitable works. This new conception of an ideal lay life was not simply an indication of the spiritual point of view of the mendicant hagiographers, but rather a means the church had adopted to solve the longstanding problem of the female lay penitent. At the heart of this chapter's argument then is the contention that gender played a crucial role in the development of new lay religious ideals in the late medieval Italian communes.

This chapter explores issues of the law on marriage in novels by Sir Walter Scott, focusing on Saint Ronan's Well. In a number of ways, Scott's novels can be viewed as offering a commentary on Scots law and society. Legal themes that emerge from them can indicate more general contemporary legal concerns. This general point has been demonstrated in Bruce Beiderwell's argument that the Waverley novels made an important contribution to general discourse about crime and punishment at a crucial period in the development of new penal strategies and of reform in the criminal law. The chapter argues that the theme of marriage is central to Saint Ronan's Well and shows that the novel offers a harsh critique of aspects of the Scots law on the constitution of marriage and, at another level, of that other union — the political one of Scotland with England.

In November/December 2004, AREVA succeeded in reprocessing for the first time MOX spent fuels with a continuous dissolution process on the UP2-800 plant in La Hague. It was the industrial conclusion of preliminary and extensive studies realized by the CEA teams at the laboratory scale in Atalante facilities. The experiments were realized using MOx fuel obtained by MIMAS process and irradiated in Saint-Laurent des Eaux power reactor. The average burn-ups of the pin samples used for the studies were comprised between 28 GWd/T and 43 GWd/T. As the MOx fuel present a specific behavior versus dissolution due to the presence of PuO2 clusters, the solubility tests were mainly focused on the Pu behavior as a function of the temperature of dissolution (from 88 °C to boiling point) and the fuel burn-up. The fixed dissolution parameters were the residence time (8 hours), the initial acidity (near 8 M) and the sample size (35 mm). Available results concern dissolution kinetics, plutonium solubility and its distribution in the different flux (insoluble solids, solution).

Quand en 1940 la France devient territoire occupé, les conditions de vie se dégradent à tel point que les Français vivent en grande difficulté. Pourtant, aussi épouvantables que les conditions matérielles de vie soient-elles, rien n’est comparable à la dégradation de la vie de l’Esprit, au manque du spirituel. Les Français sont affamés, les Français ont froid, mais pire encore, les Français meurent dans l’esprit. Les Français perdent peu à peu leur identité. « C’est l’âme aujourd’hui qui est tellement déserte. On meurt de soif », s’exclamait Antoine de Saint-Exupéry dans une lettre à sa mère en 1940. Et pourtant on ne peut pas s’abreuver parce qu’il n’existe que « ce marécage ». La douleur est trop forte parce que c’est le patrimoine spirituel français qui est en péril et de nombreux écrivains en sont très conscients. L’essence de la vie, l’eau claire, l’eau limpide, l’eau qui donne la vie, s’est transformée en eau de mort, « une eau qui doit s’assombrir, une eau qui va absorber la noire souffrance. Toute eau vive est une eau dont le destin est de s’alentir, de s’alourdir. Toute eau vivante est une eau qui est sur le point de mourir » disait Bachelard dans son livre L’eau et les rêves. La vie est étouffée et il n’y a que des eaux stagnantes, des « eaux mortes ». Dans cette communication je voudrais montrer comment les écrivains ressentent et manifestent cette crise, cette perte d’identité, cette mort ; et comment l’écriture est proposée comme remède, comme voie de salut grâce à la démarche autobiographique d’une manière spéciale. Abstract Anti-icing systems (AIS) are used in aviation and in ground gas turbines operating in humid climates where relative humidity is above 80% with mist and the temperature of the intake air drops to 5°C and below. Ice formation can disrupt the compressor work by causing vibrations, inlet flow blockage or even a surge in some cases. An anti-icing system is activated in such cases to heat the inlet air before it reaches the compressor. The objective of this work is to design and study an anti-icing system (AIS) for different ambient air parameters and different gas turbine modes of operation. A particular climatic situation (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) is considered as the basis for assessing the suitability of different anti-icing systems and to choose the best configuration out of different possible arrangements. The present work is divided in three major tasks. The first task involves the choice of the anti-icing system arrangement. The second task is to design the heating air supply system by determining the geometric sizes of bypass pipeline with fully open damper to ensure conduction of required air flow at the anti-icing system design condition. In the final task, the entire process is integrated and automated to calculate multiple iterations for different gas turbine operating regimes to assess the reliability of the designed anti-icing system at all operating conditions of the gas turbine. Such assessment is critical as it helps to identify the operating conditions at which the designed anti-icing system would not be able to heat the intake air to a certain temperature above the dew point temperature.

Objectives / Scope During summer 2017, EIFFAGE GENIE CIVIL MARINE was invited by BP to bid for the construction of a concrete caisson breakwater protecting an offshore LNG liquefaction floating terminal which will be located 10 km west from Saint Louis, at 33 m water depth on the Mauritanian / Senegalese maritime border. Methods, Procedures, Process The basic design as originally proposed by BP was composed of 18 rectangular concrete caissons laying on an underwater rumble-mound foundation. Dimensions of the concrete boxes were approximatively 63,5 meters long, 32 meters wide and 30 meters high, on a design consisting of multi rectangular cells (128 units/caisson) EIFFAGE GENIE CIVIL MARINE answered to the ITB by proposing under an EPC basis an alternate caisson shape optimizing drastically the concrete quantities. Results, Observations, Conclusions Alternate caisson dimensions were 54,5 m long, 28 m width, 35m height including a 3 m high crest wall at the top against extreme waves overtopping. The geometry of the caisson has been changed to a 10 lobes caisson. The weight of each caisson is around 16 000 tons. As a result of the subsequent FEED studies performed from April 2018 to February 2019, including 3D model testing in basin, Eiffage was able to reduce the amount of concrete required by 40 % compared to the first design, leading to 124 200 cum of concrete and both financial as well as environmental benefits. Novel/Additive Information Execution plan involving Mauritania and Senegal This infrastructure offers key local content components for this gas field development in each country, something Eiffage had key experience with thanks to an historical presence in the the region : Eiffage started its activities in Senegal more than 100 years ago. The original execution plan as proposed by Eiffage for the EPC phase signed in February 2019 was to build the 21 concrete caissons in Dakar -Senegal. A dedicated yard of 15 hectares has been reclaimed besides the actual port of Dakar providing a safe direct access to the sea and the required water depth for the caissons towing. As a result, at peak more than 600 jobs will be created in Senegal, with the reclaimed land for the fabrication yard left as a legacy for the port area. The underwater rumble mound requires 2 million tons of quarry material. EIFFAGE's proposal was to produce, transport and load from Mauritania those materials. A specific logistics scheme between the quarry and vessels loading point has been developed including a bypass road around Nouakchott. The transport of the quarry materials requires the mobilization of 170 trucks. A special safety mitigation plan including dedicated training is being implemented in order to reduce identified risks linked to road transportation.
