Abstract:
AbstractThis article considers how the existence of an ancient community, the Jews of Cochin on India’s Malabar coast, was transformed by the force of two powerful twentieth-century nationalisms – Indian nationalism and Zionism. It does so through telling the story of a remarkable individual, A. B. Salem, a lawyer, politician, Jewish religious reformer, and Indian nationalist, who was instrumental in promoting the Zionist cause and facilitating the mass migration of the Cochin Jews to Israel. Salem’s story illustrates how the prioritization and translation of kinds of identity into the public sphere is fluid and contingent upon a variety of circumstances, personal as well as the outcome of changes in the wider world.

Objectives: Diabetes is one of the main global risks of mortality and is seen with a drastic rise in developing nations in accordance with rise in age. The main aim of the study is to find the prevalence of diabetes and pre-diabetes and its associated risk factors among the rural community based on diagnostic criteria. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in a rural community of Salem district, Tamil Nadu, India. Patient data (demographics, lifestyle factors, and medical reports) were collected with the help of a questionnaire. Results: Of 780 populations, 425 were included for the screening of diabetes based on inclusion criteria. Of the 425 screened samples, 224 (52.7%) were diagnosed with diabetes. From these 224 diabetic cases, 133 (31.3%) were known cases of diabetes, 26 (6.1%) were newly diagnosed diabetic cases, and 65 (15.3%) were pre-diabetic cases. Most of the diabetic patients 140 (62.5%) were illiterate, and 159 (71%) were never had physical activities. A positive association (p<0.05) was observed between diabetes and age, body mass index (BMI) and tobacco use other than smoking. 65 patients were found to be pre-diabetes, among which 41.5% (27 cases) were male and 58.5% (38 cases) were female. A positive association (p<0.05) was observed between pre-diabetes and age, family history of diabetes and HTN, BMI, and lifestyle factors such as tobacco use, alcohol consumption, and smoking. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that the burden of diabetes was observed to be increasing in India and it is becoming common among communities. Patient awareness and timely diagnosis and intervention may limit the progression of the disease.

Abstract:
Raden Saleh, the first painter in Java to adopt modern techniques and gain recognition in the Western world during the Dutch colonial era, holds an important place in Indonesian art history. This article examines the life and contributions of Raden Saleh. It explores the restoration of his tomb by President Soekarno as a means to strengthen Indonesia's national identity in the post-independence period. The research utilizes historical methods, including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The study reveals that the restoration of Raden Saleh's tomb in 1953, under President Soekarno's leadership, aimed to pay homage to Raden Saleh as a prominent figure in Indonesian history and reinforce the Indonesian identity by recognizing the globally renowned indigenous elite. Although Raden Saleh passed away long before Indonesia's independence, and the concept of Indonesia as a nation emerged much later, the government, particularly under President Soekarno and Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Yamin, believed that the restoration was necessary due to the unsatisfactory condition of the tomb. Additionally, the presence of paintings reflecting indigenous perspectives and occasionally criticizing colonialism influenced the decision to restore the tomb. This research sheds light on the significance of Raden Saleh's legacy in shaping Indonesian art and the efforts to preserve cultural heritage in the nation. The history of the creation of a unified theory of electromagnetic and weak interactions (electroweak theory, also called the Weinberg-Salam theory), which is an essential part of the modern theory of elementary particles and fundamental interactions between them, called the standard model, is explored. The main turning points in this history are highlighted: the concept of non-Abelian gauge fields (Yang-Mills fields, 1954), the promotion of the idea of unifying electromagnetic and weak forces (1958-1959), the discovery of the global internal symmetry of electroweak interactions (1961, S. Glashow), the discovery of based on spontaneous symmetry breaking - the Higgs mechanism (1964), which made it possible to solve the problem of the mass of gauge particles (Weinberg-Salam theory, 1967). The metaphysical aspects of the theory and the process of its construction are considered, mainly related to the principle of symmetry and its various extensions and modifications.

In an article entitled “Non-Market Mechanisms of Market Formation: The Development of the Consumer Durables Industry in Turkey” which appeared in the Fall 1998 issue of this journal, Ayşe Buğra analyzes the nationwide network of sales agents organized by Arçelik, the first and the largest consumer durables producer in Turkey, and its role in the development of the consumer durables industry in the postwar era. She argues that in the absence of a market-forming role of the state and the limited availability of modern channels of publicity, “the increased sales of household durables required special mechanisms -both to create the need for the products and to facilitate payments for them” (Buğra 1998, p. 7). According to Buğra, under these circumstances Arçelik formed a network of sales agents for its products and this contributed, to a large extent, to the formation of a mass consumer market for household durables.

Abstract:
In the late seventeenth century, the Massachusetts Bay Colony’s government built its own provincial navy of several vessels to secure its coastline from French, Indigenous, and piratical threats. While the creation of provincial navies would become a regular hallmark of English colonization throughout the Atlantic world, this fleet’s flagship – the sloop Mary – and its crew would become major players in various transatlantic dramas ranging from the Glorious Revolution to the Golden Age of Piracy to the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Overall, Mary’s short service history not only gives us a novel maritime lens through which we can examine traditionally-well studied events in early American history, but also highlights the long-ignored role of Anglo-American provincial naval forces in shaping the first British Empire.

Abstract:

Abstract Previously undiscovered market studies show that the sale of beer as a loss-leader offer was already used as a competitive tool in food retailing in the 1970s and became an important feature of aggressive competition among retailers in the 1980s. The article illustrates the specific assortment and pricing policies in beer retailing and makes clear that increasing beer sales at low dumping prices led to profit losses for the stores. This highlights another facet in the development of the West German mass consumer society and the structural change in food retailing: the hallmarks of the growth and concentration process were not only the procurement and financing advantages of the large retailers, but also loss-leader offers and price undercutting in certain product groups, of which beer was demonstrably one.

This paper discusses the role played by the extensive, nation-wide network of sales agents organized by the leading Turkish manufacturer of consumer durables, Arçelik, in the formation of mass consumption markets in the post-Second World War era. The case study attempts to draw attention to a relatively less explored dimension of the industrialization experience of developing countries by shifting the usual emphasis on the structure of production toward the organization of consumption. This shift of emphasis serves to highlight certain society-specific mechanisms of market formation which compensate the limitations of the market-forming role of the state in the context of twentieth-century late industrialization.

Abstract:
The automobile industry was a leader in Germany's economic recovery after World War II. In the 1950s and 1960s, carmakers found a ready market for their products as mass motorization created a manufacturing backlog. But, by the 1970s, rapid changes in sales and the arrival of new competitors in the German market marked a transition from a seller's to a buyer's market. Additionally, the energy crisis intensified existing consumer reluctance to spend and altered buying preferences. German car manufacturers adjusted to the changing market conditions after 1973 by adopting different strategies. In order to generate economic success, they developed new marketing-management instruments that supported a fundamental change in the business paradigm, leading them to shift from their earlier emphasis on production to a stronger focus on consumers.

Abstract:
Abstract.Alkhairaat, founded in 1930, is the largest social organization (CSO) in Central Sulawesi Province, which has regional and branch managers in various provinces in Eastern Indonesia. Charitable business is engaged in education, preaching, social, cultural, media, economic and health. The educational institutions managed by this mass organization number 1,596, starting from the level of Early Childhood Education to Higher Education. Existing in Dutch and Japanese colonial times, Alkhairaat has a heroic history that gave birth to organizational charisma. The foundation of organizational ideology comes from the charism of Sayyid Idrus bin Salim Aldjufri as the founder of Alkhairaat. The scientific heritage of the Muslim community has led to massive sympathy for Alkhairaat. Alkhairaat's massification has become a political momentum since the opening of Indonesia's democratic reform taps in 1998. Several political parties have come to the Alkhairaat organization to recruit political cadres in the face of general election events.Alkahiraat's political charisma in the frame of political communication includes the participation, consolidation, and partnership of Alkhairaat politicians who spread in various political parties to win the election contestation. Election of members of parliament, regional heads, to the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. Alkhairaat’s charisma becomes an image commodity (popularity) to get elective support in every political contestation.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Nepal has a perennial history with the culture of alcohol and it is mostly seen as a form of social capital. Alcohol usage has been inextricable with local cultures, i.e., festivals. The current study aims to investigate aspects of alcohol advertising in newspapers using content analysis. The study focuses on unraveling the ideologies of liquor advertisers in boosting alcohol promotion mostly among the youth. Ostensibly, the boosterism of alcohol advertisements has been concomitant in an attempt to establish it as a mass culture. Consumerism remains the central theme of global contemporary societies and the fundamentals of capitalism are characterized by oligopolistic standards. Facets of such attempt to create a culture revolving around alcohol by injecting messages through advertisements to specific age groups. Forty random private newspapers and twenty state newspapers are taken into consideration and simplified into a coding form to test the two hypotheses. Variables such as themes of advertisement, age, published days, messages espoused, alcohol types, and types of advertisements have been independently tested for correlation. The research has highlighted that advertisers tend to promote alcohol as a form of reinforcing different cultures with the sales of alcohol. Also, there have been frequent reported attempts to magnify use of alcohol during weekends for tranquility from rigid bureaucratic norms. Waves of global cultures have also been associated with alcohol promotion as means of celebration Int. J. Soc. Sc. Manage. Vol. 8, Issue-3: 408-415.

If any man has drunk a little too deeply from the cup of physical pleasure; if he has spent too much time at his desk that should have been spent asleep ; if his fine spirits have become temporarily dulled; if he finds the air too damp, the minutes too slow, and the atmosphere too heavy to withstand; if he is obsessed by a fixed idea which bars him from any freedom of thought: if he is any of these poor creatures, we say, let him be given a good pint of amber-flavoured chocolate and marvels will be performed” — Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755–1826) Scientifically proven to be a mood elevator due to its ability to promote serotonin in the brain, chocolate is popular for it s aphrodisiac, relaxing, euphoric and stimulating characteristics. Renowned as a universally craved food, a majority of chocolate cravers, or chocoholics, have failed to find any close substitutes that can replace this divine invention (Parker, Parker and Brotchie, 2006). Chocolate holds the ability to transcend beyond merely a food, stimulating irrational behavioural tendencies within people even turning them into addicts. The history of chocolate dates back to approximately 600 AD when the cocoa beans were discovered in the lowlands of south Yucatan in the Maya. It was initially consumed as a beverage known as chocolate only by the emperors until it was developed as edible chocolate. Chocolate had an unpleasant taste and its transformation to a desirable flavour is an interesting historical mystery. Chemically, chocolate is composed of cocoa mass, cocoa butter and added sugar. Cocoa mass forms the base product which is obtained by processing the cocoa bean while cocoa butter is the natural fat fro m the cocoa bean which melts at room temperature to provide the creamy “melt in the mouth” sensation. Sugar was added as a primary ingredient by Europeans to appeal to their palate when chocolate was introduced from America (Parker, Parker and Brotchie, 2006). The present day chocolate industry is a mature and vibrant one consistently generating sales

Abstract:
Although studies in mass communication and investigative journalism have examined associations between newspaper reporting and policy formation, little research has focused on the policy influence of magazine coverage. In addition, given research questions that implicitly or explicitly conclude with policy implementation, studies have tended to analyze materials prior to the passage of legislation with little attention paid to subsequent reporting. This monograph examines magazine coverage of patent medicines before and after the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 became law. Patent medicines, which appeared in the form of cure-alls, headache remedies, and soothing syrups, emerged long before the federal government regulated substances such as morphine and cocaine, and nostrums often included these substances in addition to alcohol. Near the turn of the 20th century, magazine journalists began to draw attention to the hazards associated with patent medicines, building an agenda for policy reform. The Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906 required manufacturers to list habit-forming substances and the quantities of those substances on product labels, and sales showed an appreciable decline; however, companies continued to profit. An examination of magazine articles showed that, in addition to patent-medicine manufacturers, newspapers received significant criticism for advancing industry interests through advertising. As a partial result of outlandish claims made in advertisements, problems with patent medicines continued after implementation of the Pure Food and Drug Act. Government officials and the U.S. Supreme Court were among those who undermined the 1906 law. Implications for investigative journalism, history, and public policy are discussed.

Abstract:
AbstractEveryday technologies of the nineteenth century—mass-produced items that were small, sturdy, and affordable—transformed the daily lives of working people in Asian colonies. There is already a large literature on colonial technology transfer and a specialist literature on the sewing-machine, which draws on Singer archives, production figures, sales techniques, and advertising to establish uptake by households from North America to the Philippines, India, China, and Egypt. Still, documentation of how and why imported objects such as the sewing-machine were appropriated is difficult to find because, unlike elites, ordinary people left few records of their own. Here a visual archive is investigated to complement existing studies. Photographs and early moving pictures from the former Dutch East Indies show that ordinary Indonesians sought and appropriated imported goods such as the sewing-machine. The colonial camera's visual record of sewing-machine operators displaces attention from the more impersonal trade and productivity statistics. It brings the silent user into the history of technological uptake and allows us to consider the repercussions across a wide social band and period. Indigenous tailors and seamstresses expanded their own work options. Through the Singer they fitted out and launched their compatriots into modern jobs and lifestyles in the Dutch colony. The sewing-machine changed habits, manners, and expectations; machine operators influenced senses of propriety, fashion, and status. Appropriation of mundane technology demonstrates that modernization was not only a process trickling down to the masses from Westernizing elites; it also bubbled up from below.

The research was aimed at determining the amount of the influence of market orientation and competitive advantage toward sustainability caused by a decline in sales of beverage Small-Middle Enterprises (SMEs) in Sukabumi City. The objects of the research were Market Orientation (variable X1), Competitive Advantage (variable X2) and Sustainability (variable Y). The research methods applied was quantitative method with descriptive and associative approach, namely a method that deployed statistical calculations aimed to determine the influence or relationship of two or more variables. The techniques of analyzing data applied were commenced from validity test, reliability and normality tests, also supported by the Test-F, multiple correlation coefficient, determination coefficient, multiple linear regression and Test-T to determine the extent of the influence of the two independent variables studied on the dependent variable. Based on the results of the research, the relationship between market orientation and sustainability is amounted to -0.265 and the significant value is amounted to 0.793, indicating that there is a negative and insignificant influence. In addition to that, the competitive advantage is amounted to 14,412 and the significant value is amounted to 0.000 which means there is a positive and significant influence because t > 0. The influence of market orientation and competitive advantage toward sustainability is aggregated to 0.856 or namely 85.6%. Therefore, it can be observed that the influence of market orientation and competitive advantage toward sustainability has a strong influence. Thus, the one that has the biggest influence on sustainability is the competitive advantage variable.

Abstract:
Introduction: Hypertension is an emerging health concern among children owing to its increasing prevalence and association with obesity. However, hypertension screening is uncommon, and childhood hypertension-related data are limited. This cross-sectional study determined the prevalence and associated factors of hypertension among primary school children in Kuching, Sarawak. Methods: Standard procedures and validated equipment were used to measure blood pressure and anthropometric indicators. The body mass index (BMI)-for-age and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) were calculated. Questionnaires were used to obtain family sociodemographic data and health history. Results: A total of 1,314 children aged 6–12 years were enrolled, of whom 107 (8.1%) and 178 (13.5%) were hypertensive and pre-hypertensive, respectively. The chi-squared test indicated that hypertension was significantly associated with male sex (P<0.05), ≥1 standard deviation BMI-for-age (P<0.001), percentage of excess body fat (BF)(P<0.001), 5th to 95th height percentile (P<0.001), >90th excess waist circumference (WC) percentile (P<0.001), >90th WHtR percentile (P<0.001), clerical, service, sales and skilled parental work (P<0.05), excess weight (P<0.05) and cardiovascular disease (P<0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the percentage of excess BF [odds ratio (OR): 4.84, 95% confidence interval (CI): 2.01–11.66] and excess WC (OR: 2.33, 95% CI: 1.15–4.72) were significantly related to hypertension after adjusting for sex and age. Conclusion: The prevalence of hypertension among the study population is higher than that among children worldwide. Childhood hypertension-related factors must be identified to aid in routine blood pressure screening, which is crucial for early detection and intervention to reduce future morbidity burden.

Abstract:
The history of Indonesian independence cannot be separated from the role of society in gaining independence from colonialists. The Indonesian independence that was achieved was full of twists and turns. After independence was achieved and proclaimed on August 17, 1945, Indonesia was not fully independent because in the early days of Dutch independence returned to Indonesia to occupy Indonesia again. The arrival of the Dutch was opposed by the Indonesian people who had ingrained them in their minds that they were already independent and no longer had to be under the shadow of the Dutch. Finally, conflicts with the Netherlands erupted in several areas. The conflict was an effort to defend Indonesia's independence. One of the conflicts that occurred was in the Probolinggo area. In this conflict the role of youth in defending independence was very important. Youth in Probolinggo moved guerrillaly to fight against the Dutch. The famous figure behind the peoples guerrilla movement against the Dutch in Probolinggo namely is Dr. Moehammad Saleh, he is a doctor and part of the organization founded by Soetomo, namely Boedi Oetomo. Probolinggo guerrillas jointly resisted Dutch military aggression with thw help of important figures in it.Sejarah kemerdekaan Indonesia tidak terlepas dari peranan masyarakat untuk meraih kemerdekaan daripenjajah. Abstract:

Abstract:
Background:There is an increased risk of low-trauma fracture as bone mineral density (BMD) decreases, however a large proportion of these fragility fractures occur in those without osteoporosis or osteopenia. The widely used FRAX tool uses femoral neck (FN) BMD, amongst other parameters, to predict fracture risk. In those with normal BMD, data is lacking on the weight these other parameters hold in predicting future risk. Indeed, FN BMD can be facultative in the estimation of risk when using FRAX.Objectives:To establish predictors of fragility fracture in a patient cohort referred for BMD estimation, subsequently found to have bilateral FN BMD of greater than 1.Methods:A cohort of patients in the North West of England referred between 2004 and 2014 for BMD estimation, with both left and right FN BMD of greater than 1 were identified. Patient parameters identified and analysed included age at scan, gender, BMD at left hip, body mass index (BMI), fat mass, family history of fracture, alcohol history of 3 or more units per day, smoking status, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and steroid exposure. Patients with fragility fracture were compared with those without fracture. Chi-square test and T-test were applied to categorical and continuous data respectively. Further univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were fitted to determine parameters associated with future fracture risk.Results:619 patients with bilateral FN BMD of greater than 1 were identified and included in analysis. Mean age at scan was 54 years (SD 11.82) and 542 (87.56%) were female. 92 (14.86%) patients had a fragility fracture. Mean left FN BMD was 1.91 (SD 0.71), and mean right FN BMD was 1.92 (SD 0.68). Abstract:
The diverse histories of national and transnational design have included research on institutions, collectives, and entities that developed projects concerned with the practice or teaching of design, with longer or shorter permanence, towards a historiographic construction built on their legacy. In this context, we examine the transience and exceptional nature of Empresa Editora Nacional Quimantú, a state publishing project carried out in Chile between 1971 and 1973 by a socialist and democratically elected government that ended abruptly due to a military coup. From a qualitative and quantitative methodological perspective, as well as archival work, we analyse the intersections between design and the editorial guidelines of its catalogue (books and magazines), in addition to the trajectory of the largest publishing enterprise formed in the country, during a brief operating period of two and half years. This instance opened a space for collaboration and experimentation between directors, designers, and workers within management structures. The presence of a large-scale social publishing model is studied for its unprecedented print runs in the national readership market, where the ‘design’ factor—in terms of form, content, and strategy—had a fundamental role, and the volume of printed books exceeded the country’s total population. Interrogating the archives, collections, and titles designed under Quimantú—a project that has acquired a ‘publishing mythology’ character for its fleetingness and high production levels—opens the possibility of looking into a heritage of editorial products designed with the urgency of taking culture to popular sectors, and the immediacy of a political process of radical changes that appealed for the mass production of images, texts, and discourses. Finally, the problem of production time becomes relevant as content production teams, collections’ designs, and the dissemination and sales spaces introduced some ideas and innovations into the Chilean publishing milieu.

It has been established that the leading role in its formation was played by the Smolensk region’s Simmental cattle, which in 1950 was registered as a Sychevskaya breed. Bulls of Swiss, German and Austrian breeding were also used. Since the mid-80s. 20th century to increase milk productivity and suitability for industrial technology, Siberian herds of semimetals were actively crossed with bulls of the Holstein breed (red-and-white colour), and since the beginning of the 21st century. Producers of Austrian and German origin are widely used, which has led to a significant increase in milk productivity, quality indicators of milk and live weight of animals. As a result, domestic lines are practically not found in the Simmental herds of Siberia. Accordingly, the valuable adaptive qualities necessary for dairy cattle breeding in areas with highly natural and climatic conditions were partly lost. Many of the cows began to deviate towards the meat and dairy type, which harmed milk productivity. The gene pool of the domestic Simmental of the desired dairy and milk-meat type has been preserved only in the form of the Sychevskaya breed in the Smolensk, Tver and Kaluga regions. Data on the current state of the number of livestock, genealogical structure and productive indicators of the Sychevskaya breed are presented. The Sychevskaya breed is superior to the Simmental breed in terms of the mass fraction of fat and protein in milk, the yield of calves, the duration of the dry period, the product of meat from a cow, the number of heifers for breeding sales per 1 cow, which provides it with a higher efficiency rating. The expediency of using bulls of the Sychevskaya breed for selection and breeding work with herds of Simmentals in areas with highly natural and climatic conditions in farms with low food supply, specialising in milk production, is substantiated.

Abstract:
María Magdalena Campos-Pons (b. 1959, Matanzas, Cuba) is a Cuban artist with Yoruba (Nigerian), Chinese, and Spanish roots. She is also a black US-based artist. Known for performative and installation-based work as well as photography, paintings, and videos in which her body functions as resource, medium, and site, she has recently turned to more metaphorical representations of the body. History and memory, as well as the ritual (Lucumí or Santería) and material culture of her enslaved Nigerian and indentured Chinese ancestors brought to Cuba in the nineteenth century to work in the island’s sugar plantation system, have been key touchstones for her work. Since the 1990s she has frequently employed sugar as a material for critically exploring the complex workings of colonialism. Alchemy of the Soul, Elixir for the Spirits, commissioned by the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, in 2015, is the most recent of her sugar works. The installation explored, metaphorically, the distillation of New England rum from Cuban sugar. This paper examines it in relation to Campos-Pons’s persistent interests, such as forced removal, migration, trade networks, memory, Lucumí/Santería, mestizaje, transculturation, and racism. It also examines the installation’s site to argue that the work explores black being in distinct but interrelated contexts: Cuba and New England. A powerful conjunction of objects, site, and performance, the work directed attention to a New England exceptionalism that persists in framing slavery’s violence as elsewhere.

Abstract:
Purpose In mature industries, downward vertical (line) extension has become an increasingly popular strategy, particularly for automobile manufacturers aiming at expanding their consumer bases and/or avoiding competition in higher market segment. This paper aims to examine how Mercedes-Benz (MB) practiced a downward vertical line extension within the same product category. When commercialized as a product line innovation, the MB A-Class was the first and most symbolic move made by a premium brand in the automobile industry. Design/methodology/approach This paper investigates the microfoundations of a vertical downward extension strategy. To do so, the authors adopt a narrative style to analyze the story of the MB A-Class from its inception to its commercialization. Secondary data sources, such as company websites, annual reports, internal documents, books, public relations and press releases, were used. Qualitative as well as quantitative performance outcomes were assessed using market and product sales in Western Europe (1997-2016) and the results of an MB brand image survey conducted in 1998 following the accident faced by the A-Class. Findings The case illustrates that contrary to initial assumptions, lower-quality extensions may be relevant for prestige brands under certain conditions and identifies four strategy components that may drive a successful downward stretch: combine organizational, product, process and marketing innovation with the support of dynamic capabilities; manage paradoxes/contradictions in terms of product development; target the high-end of a lower consumer segment; and adopt a “brand humility talk scheme”. Research limitations/implications Existing studies primarily focus on consumers’ evaluations of vertical step-down extensions. Rare are the articles that adopt the company’s perspective. Moreover, additional research is needed to assess the short- and long-term impacts of vertical downward extension on performance outcomes. Practical implications The case of the MB A-Class encourages top executives to consider the trade-offs inherent to a down-market strategic move: keeping the (premium) brand’s standards high within a reduced cost/price envelope while learning the codes of the new/bottom of the market. In addition, the A-Class may serve as a fundamental school case for marketing managers and creative advertising agencies on what should and should not be done, whether at the product or at the advertising level. Originality/value This paper demonstrates that a premium brand that practiced a vertical downward line extension can expand its sales in a mass market, by targeting a small but growing segment with a high willingness to pay for more expensive products. This adds to the contention that it is not the downscale extension product price per se that negatively affects the parent brand but rather where it stands in the hierarchy of the market segment considered and the ability of the premium brand to integrate the downscale extension to its own history (i.e. combining its original values with tangible product benefits while backing the cause of the new market). Finally, the story of the A-Class strongly suggests that any company needs to upgrade its capabilities as part of the learning process of a new market to convert a business opportunity into a market success.

Abstract:
During the 1870s, the Provincial government terminated grazing licences on large runs in Eastern Southland and West Otago. In a series of land sales, this land was surveyed into 200-acre farms and auctioned to prospective farmers on a delayed repayment scheme. 150 years later, this research searches for traces of the first buildings from this time. It focuses on the housing of eight ancestors, great grandparents of the author, who settled within a 30 km radius in the districts of Waikoikoi, Maitland, Waikaka Valley and Otama. Information was gathered from National Library collections, district and family history books, old photographs and maps, 2018 surveys of the homestead sites and interviews with cousins still living in the area. In 1870, the rolling hills were covered with open tussock. Found artefacts suggest that Māori camped in the area during expeditions to gather food from Mataura river sites. The new settlers, often in extended family groups, travelled by horse and dray overland from Dunedin or Bluff. The Dunedin to Gore railway did not open until 1879. Their first shelters were camp-sites and wagon tilts lined in felt. Soon after they arrived, established families were able to fund the building of modest timber houses often constructed by carpenter uncles and brothers. Young single men "bached" in sod and/or timber huts until they married. One great grandmother spent childhood years "comfortably" in a "half-sod and half-timber shepherd's cottage" but her teenage years at the "Big House," the 20-room homestead on the Otama Station. It was built in 1867 of "white pine" from the forest at Tapanui. By the turn of the twentieth-century, simple cottages had received additional rooms, porches and decorative verandahs or they were upstaged by new grand timber villas. In 2018, only one homestead, originally named Hopetoun, is still standing although it is substantially altered. Family photographs, usually of the front façade, provide a limited perspective only. Memoirs and local histories offer a few more clues. While buildings from the 1870s exist, historical touchstones in these country districts are more elusive.

Abstract:
Batik culture has succeeded in becoming a driving force of the creative economy and providing employment opportunities in various areas of Indonesia. However, the rapid development of batik does not guarantee the success of the batik businesses to be sustainable. One example occurs in one of the national batik industry centers, namely Cirebon. The famous culture of batik in Cirebon is synonymous with the craft center located in Trusmi Village. However, Cirebon also has other areas that are actively producing batik, such as Ciwaringin Village. Contrast to the popular Trusmi Village, Ciwaringin Village's batik tends to fade. The craftmanship of hand-written batik is assumed as one obstacle in responding to consumer trends and demands. In regards, this research aims to explore the alternative designs in developing Ciwaringin batik by infusing the trendy hypernature concept for home décor product. The idea of the batik development design is initiated to respond the growing trend of home décor consumption and the rise of hype nature concept of innovations, which is the integration of technology and nature to support sustainability. Thus, the design method used is a collaboration of Ciwaringin batik traditional elements with the trend of 2022/2023. The collaboration of traditional and the trend elements is considered sufficient in helping craftsmen to be responsive to the latest developments happened amidst society. Through the design process, it was discovered the potency of new designs and the rise of new market segments. Although the design project should be considered as an early stage of development, but it can be concluded that there are positive indications of implementing the trend elements for developing traditional batik designs. Keywords: batik Ciwaringin, home décor, hypernature. Abstract:
English :
In the Church document Sacrosantum Concilium Art.29 also the ministers of the mass (altar boys), lectors, commentators and choir members actually carry out liturgical services. They should therefore discharge their duties devoutly, sincerely and thoroughly, as worthy of such a high ministry, and after what is properly required of them by the people of God. So it is necessary for them to be deeply infused with the spirit of the liturgy, each of which is only his ability, and be nurtured to carry out their roles appropriately and neatly.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 is a new type of disease that has never been previously identified in humans. The virus that causes Covid-19 is called Sars-CoV-2. Corona virus is zoonotic (transmitted between animals and humans). Meanwhile, the animal that is the source of Covid-19 transmission is still unknown. Based on scientific evidence, Covid-19 can be transmitted from human to human through coughing/sneezing droplets (droplets). The people most at risk of contracting this disease are people who are in close contact with Covid-19 patients, including those who treat Covid-19 patients (Kemenkes RI, 2020). Common signs and symptoms of Covid-19 infection include symptoms of acute respiratory distress such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. The average incubation period is 5 - 6 days with an incubation period of fever, cough, and shortness of breath. In severe cases, Covid-19 can cause pneumonia, The church greets people in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Covid-19 pandemic is still rampant. Moments of social isolation have changed many aspects of church life. To deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Church needs to learn from history, one of which is the history of God's people after the exile from Babylon. In addition, there are several challenges that the Church needs to face as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, namely in the aspects of celebrating the Eucharist, ministry, and theology. In order to support the handling of Covid-19, the Church put forward several appeals to support the work of the government.
The reality that happened is based on the author's interview with the head of the Stasi, the administrators and the people of the St. Petrus Sumberejo Blitar Station that with the Covid-19 pandemic like this, people were afraid, indecisive, came to church, and before the Covid-19 pandemic, at the St. clear division of liturgical duties, and all liturgical officers assigned to carry out their duties. With the passage of time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the schedule that had been arranged did not go as expected. Because there are people or liturgical officers, who have just returned from out of town, so they have to carry out a quarantine process for 2 weeks, therefore the liturgical officers who have been arranged are hampered and the liturgical staff's schedule is not arranged properly.
From the problems above, the researchers formulated the following problems: To what extent the participation of the people as liturgical officers during the Covid-19 pandemic at St. Petrus Sumberejo Blitar. From the formulation of the problem, the objectives to be achieved by the author in this study are:to knowthe participation of the people as liturgical officers during the Covid-19pandemic at the St. Petrus Sumberejo Station, Blitar.
This research is a quantitative research, the research population is 93 people and a sample of 30 respondents as liturgical officers. the data collection method uses a closed questionnaire while the data collection method uses F Prosen and Scoring. Based on the results of the overall data processing with a scoring value of 2.59, it means that the participation of the people as liturgical officers during the Covid-19 pandemic at the St. Petrus Sumberejo Station, Blitar, Santa Maria Parish, Blitar, was carried out well.
Thus, to support the implementation of people's participation as liturgical officers in the future, some appropriate steps can be taken. First for the people of the St. Petrus Sumberejo Blitar needs to be regenerated for worship leaders. The two parishes may be able to help the people to continue to carry out liturgical activities on a regular basis, including as officers in them, through policies or parish programs.

Abstract:
There could be no progress Georgia without strengthening the vitality of rural areas and agriculture. Strength of rural community depends on developing and pursuing sound public policies. In the thirty-year history of Georgia's independence, there have been made numerous attempts to pursue regional policies aimed at improving the well-being of rural people. Time has shown that each strategy or program designed for this purpose has always been unsystematic and fragmented. As a result, we obtained an almost irreversible process of rural exodus in Georgia, especially in the highland border sector. These areas of Georgia require highly specific approaches. Local Georgians closest to the origins of Georgian civilization still keep in their daily lives the customs that have existed continuously for many centuries (community-based use and enjoyment of land, partnership, community). The goal of the public support programs designed for them is to create conditions that will naturally encourage people to be there on a permanent-type basis. We consider it expedient to create special economic entities in the higher altitude regions of the country, to which the revenues generated from pasture lands and forest funds will accumulate. Within the mentioned economic entities, agricultural production should be developed on a cooperative basis, by organizing a single production cycle within cooperatives (production, processing and marketing of primary products). The owners of these types of economic entities can only be people permanently residing in a certain territory. The revenues from leasing or other agricultural activities can only be spent based on democratic decisions for general purposes to improve the living conditions. Such purposes may include education, healthcare, infrastructure, transport, etc., which will be pre-determined by the Government of Georgia. When specifying the optimal form of local territorial extent of agricultural cooperatives, priority is given to community-based cooperatives. They will be formed within the administrative units, taking into account the factors of production specialization and concentration of the productive forces. Community-based cooperatives contribute to creating conditions for mass community engagement in the cooperative process, where economies of scale can be used and population’s ability and material resources can be capitalized on the ground, which is of particular importance for inclusive (comprehensive) entrepreneurship development. There are unique opportunities for organic production in the mountains of Georgia. The basis for the rational use of natural pasture lands in all vertical zones is the introduction of a system of plot-rotational or similar cattle grazing. Increasing the production of all types of food (green, juicy, coarse) on natural pasture lands, improving their quality and reducing the cost is the main basis for livestock development, because 65-75% of the cost of livestock products is related to feed costs. The organization of a single production cycle within the cooperative (stock feed for livestock, dairy and dairy products (including products produced on the place of origin: “dambalkhacho (a kind of blue cheese), stuffed cheese, sheep cheese), meat and meat products, wool and leather production) will ensure the rational use of grasslands, reduce feed costs and will significantly increase shareholder returns. In view of the diversity of non-timber forest products in the highlands of Georgia and the rapidly growing demands in international markets, wild-growing fruit picking (dog-rose, crab apple, cornel, sea buckthorn, etc.) within community cooperatives and developing their drying, storage and bio-production and sales at high prices have great potential. Creating a value chain for the production of non-timber forest products in Georgia would be ensured through supporting the strengthening of the organizational and technical-technological capabilities of the community-based cooperatives. The above model of the Highland Caucasus can be extended to all communities and villages after defining the status of village and rural entrepreneur (village as a territorial unit/vital area), which implies the transfer of the permanent ownership and use of state-owned land, forest, pasture, water and mineral resources to the communities. If this model is properly organized, the most complex military-political, economic and demographic problems related to the highland border sectors will be addressed without an additional financial cost to the State and changes in the internal territorial arrangement of the country. The people who live here will simultaneously act as guardians, border guards and farmers of the country. One of the primary objectives of State policy should be to encourage care and support of people living in rural areas, as well as to give them incentives to work (strengthening the authority of farming) in order to feed society.

Abstract:
Watching (screen viewing) has become a common activity carried out in early childhood. Generally, children aged 2-5 years do watching activities for about 3 hours more a day. This study aims to see how watching activities together can increase attachment between parents and children. This study uses a qualitative approach that produces descriptive data in the form of written words or messages from people and observed behavior and uses observation, interview, or document review methods. Observations were made on co-viewing activities carried out by a child and his parents at home because this activity was found to have an impact on the attachment relationship between the two parties. The selected respondent is one of the parents of a 3-year-old child (G) (Mrs. B). Data collection was carried out at the residence of Mrs. B and G for several weeks. The data collection techniques used were interviews and observations. The results show that watching activities together has a positive impact on the attachment between parents and early childhood. This can be seen from the characteristics of the safe attachment that children have after watching the activities together, after previously the attachment they had characterized as an avoidant attachment. It can also be seen how parents have a big role in the formation of this secure attachment.

Abstract:
AbstractOne of the critical issues facing Historians today has been the emergence of Strong State regimes and the politicized pseudo history they produce in countries claiming to adhere to democratic norms. The attack on the Capital of the United States was based on a series of lies about voter fraud supported by President Donald Trump and members of Congress. Countering ideology based on a complete disregard for truth is now of paramount importance in the United States. This paper studies Trump's promise to Make America Great Again (MAGA) as a further evolution of Lost Cause mythos that began after the Civil War. The original story casts the enfranchisement of African Americans as a failure touting white supremacy and the righteousness of Jim Crow laws. How can History teachers counter these highly politicized myths? I suggest that the methodology of our profession may provide us with some important tools. John Dewey underscored the importance of critical inquiry to the preservation and advancement of democracy. Teaching students how to think historically goes a long way in the process of producing citizenry who are ready to participate in civil society. To that end I conclude this essay with a course that I teach entitled “Witches, Aliens, and Other Enemies.” The course is designed to set moments of mass hysteria and paranoia in the American narrative against the background of reason and rational legal law utilizing the Salem witch hunt at the end of the seventeenth century and the “red scare” following World War II as case studies to stimulate student exploration.

Abstract:
Background: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder that affects women during their reproductive years. It can cause irregular periods, excess androgen, and ovarian cysts. Aim: The aim of the study is to assess the prevalence, awareness and predisposing factors for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) among young women in selected PHC. Methods: A quantitative approach and cross section study design was adopted for the study. The study included 300 young women with the age group of 18-30 years who are attending selected PHC, Salem. Convenient sampling technique was used for the study to select the samples. Data on menstrual cycle regularity, body hair growth, demographics, awareness, and predisposing factors for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome were collected using a standard questionnaire and non-invasive sonographic scanning identified polycystic ovaries. Results: The prevalence of PCOS among young women was 20.67%, 39% of young women were aware of PCOS, 61 % were not aware about the PCOS. Among young women the age groups, 61.3% of women aged between 18-25 years and 38.7% of them aged between 26-30 years. In terms of Body Mass Index (BMI), 12.9% classified as underweight, 29% with a normal BMI, and 50% was classified as overweight. Activity levels also seem to influence PCOS, with 19.4% of individuals engaging in regular physical activity and 80.6% reporting no physical activity. Moreover, family history appears to play a role, as 83.9% of individuals with a family history of PCOS and 16.1% without such a history. Conclusion: PCOS is a common problem among young women after puberty. Many young women were unaware of the disease's symptoms and management, which may have skewed the observed disease burden away from its true prevalence.

Abstract:
From the foundation of the republic, the government of the United States promoted western expansion through the surveying and sales of the public domain. The agency responsible over most of this period, the General Land Office (GLO), produced maps of the progress of surveying and sales on an annual basis. This article reviews a notable series, from the first “connected” map (i.e., one showing all the public lands in a single view) in 1864 until the last in 1953. In each period, the national map produced by the agency reflects the concerns of the time, as it records the preparations for the sale of the public domain for settlement. In the first decades of the connected maps, the primary thematic elements documented the work of GLO in surveying what is now called the Public Land Survey System (PLSS). These maps evolved to include a treatment of “territorial acquisitions,” which eventually became the most prominent thematic element, while still including a representation of the PLSS grid. The series’ first depictions of territorial acquisitions included an exceptional error, one of several, indicating that the Oregon Country was part of the Louisiana Purchase. Commissioner Binger Hermann expounded his understanding of the United States’ territorial history in an eighty-seven page monograph, an unusual recognition of a cartographic error, which led to corrections. The long history of this map series provides material to understand the role of maps in the history of the country.
