Full textThis thesis focuses on the development and adaptation of psychometric scales to evaluate the problematic use of Internet and the mobile phone in adolescents in Barcelona and London. It aims to describe the characteristics and patterns of this use, to categorize problematic users of either technology and to test category validity by developing the “Problematic Internet Entertainment Use Scale for Adolescents” and adapting the “Mobile Phone Problematic Use Scalefor Adolescents” (here after, PIEUSA and MPPUSA, respectively). It also proposes a statistical model to obtain predictive factors and estimates the prevalence of problematic users of both technologies so as to more effectively describe their psychological and social profile and examine the addictive nature of their use. The thesis takes the findings of five selective studies using convenience samples of more than 1000 secondary school students in Barcelona and a similar sample size in London, who completed questionnaires. Although the study methods were mainly quantitative and used statistical analysis, one study adopted a mixed methods approach. The results allowed the researchers to validate the scales, which demonstrated excellent internal consistency and adequate factorial and construct validity, in as much as both scales were unidimensional. The participants were categorized and the prevalence of problematic users was estimated. The cut-off points were satisfactorily tested for sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy, and the results demonstrated the presence of addictive behaviour in users of both technologies, where user profiles were also defined according to characteristics, patterns of use and addictive symptomatology. In conclusion, the thesis examined the border area between non-problematic and problematic Internet and mobile phone adolescent use, which international institutions like the American Psychiatric Association may begin to classify as mental disorders if the scientific and clinical evidence supports this.
La presente tesis doctoral se centra en la elaboración y adaptación de escalas psicométricas para evaluar el uso problemático de Internet (conocido como Problematic Internet Use o PIU) y del teléfono móvil (Problematic Mobile Phone Useo PMPU) en adolescentes barceloneses y londinenses. Se pretende diversos objetivos específicos: describir las características y patrones de uso de ambas tecnologías en estudiantes de secundaria, elaborar la Problematic Internet Entertainment Use Scale for Adolescents (PIEUSA) y adaptar la Mobile Phone Problematic Use Scale for Adolescents (MPPUSA)para ambas culturas, establecer las categorías de usuarios en ambas tecnologías y comprobar la precisión en la clasificación propuesta, así como proponer un modelo estadístico para obtener los factores predictivos y, por último, estimar la prevalencia de los adolescentes problemáticos de ambas tecnologías para poder estudiar su perfil psicosocial y tratar de abordar la sintomatología subyacente de carácter adictivo. Se realizan cinco estudios con metodología selectiva que se aplican a muestras por conveniencia de más de 1000 estudiantes de secundaria de cada país, en que se administra los cuestionarios. A pesar de que predominan métodos cuantitativos con análisis estadísticos, un estudio incluye metodología híbrida (mixed methods research). Los resultados principales permiten validar ambas escalas, que obtienen consistencia interna excelente y validez factorial y de constructo adecuadas, siendo unidimensionales. Se extraen las categorías de usuarios de ambas tecnologías, así como se estiman las prevalencias de los usuarios problemáticos. Asimismo, los puntos de corte extraídos de dicha clasificación se comprueban mediante la sensibilidad, especificidad y precisión global obteniendo resultados notables que garantizan su adecuación, así como demuestran la presencia de sintomatología adictiva en este tipo de adolescentes, cuyo perfil también se define según sus características y patrones de uso. En conclusión, se ha tratado de aportar luz a la frontera entre el uso problemático y no problemático de estas tecnologías en adolescentes, que organismos internacionales como la American Psychiatric Association empiezan a valorar como posible desorden mental si la evidencia científica y clínica lo demuestra.

Full textEn los últimos años han aparecido una gran cantidad de aplicaciones móviles relacionadas con la salud. Sin embargo, el crecimiento de estas soluciones mHealth se ha producido sin ningún tipo de control o regulación específica. El objetivo principal de esta tesis era crear una nueva guía para ayudar en el desarrollo de apps de calidad y facilitar la evaluación de las disponibles. La Tesis incluye tres estudios. En el primero se han identificado los criterios más importantes para las apps de salud utilizando diferentes fuentes de información relevantes en el campo. En el segundo estudio, se ha realizado un proceso de validación para determinar los criterios realmente imprescindibles y que se integrarían en la guía. Un total de 48 criterios se han incluido finalmente en la guía relacionados con las temáticas de Privacidad, Ciberseguridad, Usabilidad, Seguridad, Tecnología, Adecuación e idoneidad, Transparencia y contenido, y Soporte técnico y actualizaciones. En el tercer estudio, se contrastó la fiabilidad (específicamente la fiabilidad entre jueces) para evaluar las apps existentes y se comparó con la guía más utilizada actualmente. La guía creada: Mobile App Development and Assessment Guide (MAG), es una herramienta válida tanto para evaluar como guiar el desarrollo de nuevas apps de calidad en salud y que ha demostrado ser más fiable que la guía más utilizada en el área (Mobile App Rating Scale).
In recent years, a huge number of mobile health-related applications have been developed. However, the growth of these mHealth solutions has occurred without any specific control or regulation. The main aim of this thesis was to create a new guide to help in the development of quality apps and facilitate the evaluation of those available. The thesis includes three studies. In the first one, the most important criteria for health apps have been identified using different relevant sources of information in the field. In the second study, a validation process was carried out to determine the essential criteria that would be integrated into the guide. A total of 48 criteria have finally been included in the guide related to the topics of Privacy, Security, Usability, Safety, Technology, Appropriateness and suitability, Transparency and content, and Technical support and updates. In the third study, reliability (specifically, interrater reliability) was studied to evaluate existing apps, and results were compared with those provided when using the most used guide. The guide created: Mobile App Development and Assessment Guide (MAG), is a valid tool to both evaluate and guide the development of new quality health apps, and has proven to be more reliable than the most used guide in the area (Mobile App Rating Scale).

" To achieve this goal, people should perform different activities such as having a healthy diet, an exercise routine, avoiding the consumption of toxic substances, regular medical check-ups, etc. In addition, generally, a person who has gone through operations or has performed various medical tests doesn’t have control over them. Therefore, when you go to a doctor's office and don’t have information about your care, you could ignore relevant issues to respond to an emergency and do not apply the appropriate care in the first instance. The importance of this increases above all for the parents, who control and monitor the care of their children underage. Considering that health care becomes relevant, a business opportunity aimed at contributing to health care has been identified. The alternative that we propose allows personal and family medical registration, separation of appointments, ranking of doctors, alerts on the taking of medicines and scheduled appointments and payment of these, advertising of clinics and pharmacies and location of clinics and pharmacies. All this, through an application administered by the patient, who would be responsible for recording information on medical care through images, voice or written recordings. With the proposed value proposition seeks to facilitate the health care of people and their families.

Full textThis business plan aims to address a worldwide problem, which is increasing in the number of people affected each year, and that is mental health. The WHO states that mental functions are interconnected with physical and mental functioning and health status, where, for instance, depression is a risk factor in cancer or cardiovascular diseases, anxiety can significantly affect physical treatment. The absence of mental health has brought great consequences such as suicides in young people and adults, since they were not treated on time either because of poor knowledge of its relevance or its high cost. Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of diseases or illnesses. Therefore, through this plan, an application is proposed to help prevent, relieve and improve any emotional state that may be harmful to our health. "Un día nuevo" app is a proposal with specialized programs that will provide tools in a comprehensive manner, which will accompany the user daily, addressing the topics of food, sports and mind, and thoughts. It also offers a 24-hour chatbot so that the user can find relief when needed through activities that meet their needs. For this business plan, our focus is on women from 15 to 55 years old from A, B and C socioeconomic levels. Since there is a gender difference in mental health, women are more likely to suffer from anxiety disorders or depression due to the internalization of these emotions and the way their body responds to these emotions unlike men. With an investment of S/128,090 planned for 5 years in an expected scenario, it shows indicators of profitability with a net present value (NPV) of S/740401.48 and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 48%. These values conclude that, at an economic level, the project is viable and profitable.

Full textIn the present work, a business plan was executed on a mobile application to carry out psychological consultations in a virtual way, created by five students from the Business School of the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC). The project was developed based on the increase in psychological conditions seen during the 2020 -2021 period due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has affected the Peruvian population in a relevant way, thus generating significant changes in the development of their day by day, change that is reinforced by the lack of tools to access a psychological consultation following the parameters of prevention against this disease. When analyzing this sector, we can see that there is a high growth potential due to the trend of teleconsultations in the health sector, especially psychological consultations. After evaluating the needs and requirements of our target audience, we developed a mobile application that serves as a link between the psychologist and the patient, which allows for more fluid and accessible communication by providing an exclusive platform for psychotherapy. At the end of our sales project, the different budget plans of the HR, operations, marketing, and sales areas were analyzed to have a projection, in monetary terms, of what we need to carry out our business idea. With this, we will be able to know if it is acceptable to invest in it or in any case, learn and create new business ideas.

Full textThroughout the life stage, women go through certain physical experiences to shape their femininity, such as menstruation, childbirth, lactation, pregnancy and menopause. Studies on the subject explain that women face complex diseases and others less severe, some diseases are: ovarian cancer, fibroids, polycystic ovaries, infections, among others. Being infections the main cause that leads women to the gynecologist, according to the Inem, in addition, it is known that almost 7 thousand women go to a gynecological consultation every month, of them about 70% go only for infections (Álvarez et al., 2017). For this reason, Ammy was created, a business idea that seeks to solve problems related to female reproductive health and that works through a mobile application. The service consists of providing menstrual monitoring with an alert of normality or abnormality of the menstrual cycle, with the option to enter the symptoms, thus alerting the user when her discomfort requires going to a gynecologist, after which, suggesting a list of doctors to make your medical appointments by the Ammy app. Although there are several foreign applications on the market, the truth is that none of them allow virtual medical consultations. In addition, there are thousands of women in Lima who are willing to pay for this service and for subscriptions to monitor their menstrual cycle. Without a doubt this business is innovative and very profitable, demonstrated in its profitability indicators of this work.

Full textThe culture of medical prevention in the face of possible diseases is a topic that the Peruvian population is not yet aware of. Many Peruvians only go to hospitals or clinics when they are in pain or feel they should be treated. On the other hand, obtaining a medical appointment with a specialist usually takes several days or even months, where the patient does not have a quick solution to calm this disease that afflicts him. Due to the current pandemic, obtaining these appointments has been delayed or even prioritized by other medical specialties, which has generated saturation in the health system. A business opportunity has been found in the creation of a mobile application called "My Doc" that serves as an intermediary between the patient and independent practices (doctors), to book medical appointments where the user can choose the scheduling of the appointment according to availability, proximity and price.

Full textThis paper is a business plan for the marketing of a mobile application for augmented reality training in risk prevention through smartphones in the city of Lima. The proposal was validated by interviews to opinion leaders and surveys to people aged 18 to 60 years. In addition, a market segmentation analysis was performed to determine how many companies could benefit from the app. Through market segmentation and definition, it was determined that the target market is large and medium-sized enterprises of the industrial sector, which represent 0.99% of the total number in Lima Metropolitan Area. It was decided to target 2.33% of the enterprises identified. As regards marketing strategies, the distribution channel will be direct, through sellers and digital channels. With this proposal, the app for augmented reality training in risk prevention is expected to become a market leader in AR training in the medium term, offering high time flexibility and efficiency. To execute the Project, an initial investment of PEN 63,936.00 is required, which will be obtained through bank loan (70%) and capital contribution (30%). It is estimated to achieve a NPV of PEN 750,111 with an IRR of 50%.

Full textPeaceful Mind, the project developed in this document, came from the current juncture and new reality caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic. Five months into the declared global health emergency and mandatory social isolation, we found out many of our friends and relatives had to halt or put aside their psychological appointments and treatments, impairing the advancements or improvement of their mental health. This is a common issue in many countries that are often avoided or underestimated. In this regard, the Red Cross stated that the “Coronavirus worsen the existent mental health illnesses, while new ones emerged, which limited, even more, the access to specialized medical services before the quarantine economical restrictions enforced to containing the pandemic”. Thus was born the idea of creating a virtual platform that allows its users to continue with their psychological treatments, receive personalized psychological orientation, and practice alternative therapies in a fast and safe manner. In order to develop this project, many experiments were carried out to identify the feasibility and acceptance level of this business idea. Additionally, the planning of the following processes was carried out: operational, marketing, human resources, social responsibility, and financial planning. The quantitative analyzes show that an initial investment of S/. 90,245.98 is required to start this project with a VPN of S/123,469.37 and a payback period of three years

Full textThis project consists of the creation of an app that was born in the middle of a global situation called COVID-19, which has put many companies and individuals under different uncomfortable conditions, and for many, not very viable. Many organizations have had to adapt to these changes, mainly related to sanitation and safety protocols, and others have taken advantage of these times of crisis to implement new projects that make life easier for people in these difficult times and can find a solution within so much uncertainty. For this reason, Doctor Wasi was created, an application that is responsible for searching for doctors near your home, through the Smartphone's GPS. The target market that was chosen was children up to twelve years of age and the elderly, as they are the segment most affected by covid 19 today and they wanted to support that class of people, however, anyone can download the app and enjoy the Doctor Wasi experience. This application will have three types of specialists, which are certified doctors, nurses and specialists in physical therapy, which the patient can choose and contact through their cell phone. Likewise, we will be constantly innovating the app and all our online platforms with the help of an expert in the field so that the client can get the best experience every time they request the Doctor Wasi service.

Full textCon la reciente evolución de la comunicación, existe una falta de comprensión del aumento de la exposición a la radiofrecuencia (RF) de estas nuevas tecnologías, especialmente entre los niños. Se sabe poco sobre la cantidad de exposición a RF que experimentan los niños día a día y sus principales fuentes. Además, hay poca comprensión de la cantidad de RF durante la vida fetal o la cantidad de RF en el cerebro durante la infancia. Esta tesis ha evaluado la exposición ambiental a RFs y la cantidad de RF en el cerebro y cuerpo en niños en varios estudios de cohorte de gran tamaño a través de estudios de medición de exposición personal y modelos de exposición integrados. Esta tesis también evaluó si el uso del teléfono móvil materno durante el embarazo o la cantidad de RF al cerebro en la infancia se asoció con problemas del desarrollo neurológico, específicamente, problemas de comportamiento. En Europa, la RF ambiental medida en niños y la cantidad estimada en el cerebro de los niños se encontraron muy por debajo de los límites recomendados. El uso del teléfono móvil materno durante el embarazo se asoció con problemas de hiperactividad/falta de atención en niños pequeños (entre 5 y 7 años) mientras que la cantidad de RF al cerebro durante la infancia se asoció con problemas de conducta, particularmente en niños mayores (14-18 años). Los factores de confusión no controlados, la causalidad inversa y los efectos del uso de dispositivos móviles, aparte de la cantidad de RF al cerebro, no podrían excluirse como posibles explicaciones para estos resultados. Además, las mujeres embarazadas podrían reducir la exposición a RF al feto manteniendo los dispositivos móviles alejados del estómago, mientras que los niños pueden reducir la cantidad de RF limitando las llamadas, limitando la transmisión de video de alta resolución o manteniendo los dispositivos móviles alejados del cuerpo.

Full textIn Peru, according to studies conducted in 2010, 42% of hypertensive patients are treated, but only 14% of patients manage to be controlled. This is due to the fact that the current process of hypertension control is not completely efficient because the patient does not completely adhere to the treatment and that blood pressure controls turn out to be very punctual after long periods of time from which there is no reliable information related to the progress of the patient. A system is proposed for the control and monitoring of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy with the use of non-invasive biomedical sensors. In this way we ensure that continuous measurement provides accurate and reliable information so that pregnant women can detect any hypertensive disorder on time. In addition, the system alerts the family members and the doctor in charge about the blood pressure levels in case of emergency. The contribution of the project is to reduce the increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases by integrating health services with technology, and to manage information from data collection through wearable until data exposure. Based on the tests carried out with pregnant patients, 38.64% are controlled and monitored 75% of the time. These results indicate that the use of technology can positively influence the reduction of hypertension in general or in similar chronic diseases.

Full textToday's education is in the third technological wave called Mobile Learning (m-learning), characterized by the use of portable equipment, global user mobility, ubiquitous connectivity, device independence and computing environment available anywhere and anytime. This thesis proposes the ML-SAI, a pedagogical model for mobile learning activities, which aims to contribute to the orientation, planning and implementation of educational activities through mobile devices, based on the approach of the Inverted Classroom (SAI). In this approach, the content is studied at home with the help of technology and at school students place their questions and share their learning with the help of the teacher, guiding and performing feedbacks, using activities such as: projects, experiments, debates, group activities, research, among others. Thus, the model presents as a differential the fact that it integrates online learning with classroom learning, relating two current teaching approaches, m-learning and SAI. For the elaboration of the ML-SAI, in addition to the literature review, exploratory research was conducted through a survey of indicatives and three pilot case studies, which provided important insights that allowed us to better understand some of the issues related to the educational use of combined mobile technologies. with the SAI theory. In order to test the model, three case studies were organized involving high school and college students, which took place during the 2019 school year, using the students' own cell phones. Data collection and analysis was promoted through Google Forms online questionnaires, involving a qualitative and quantitative approach, due to the characteristics of the data. Finally, the experiments carried out indicated that ML-SAI has the potential to guide m-learning activities, contributing positively to their development.
L'éducation se situe aujourd'hui dans la troisième vague technologique appelée Mobile Learning (m-learning), caractérisée par l'utilisation d'équipements portables, la mobilité globale des utilisateurs, la connectivité omniprésente, l'indépendance des périphériques et l'environnement informatique disponibles partout et à tout moment. Cette thèse propose ML-SAI, un modèle pédagogique pour les activités d’apprentissage mobile, qui vise à contribuer à l’orientation, à la planification et à la mise en oeuvre d’activités éducatives par le biais d’appareils mobiles, sur la base de la approche de la classe inversée (SAI). Dans cette approche, le contenu est étudié à la maison à l’aide de la technologie et à l’école, les élèves posent leurs questions et partagent leur apprentissage avec l’aide de l’enseignant, en guidant et en effectuant des réactions en utilisant des activités telles que: projets, expériences, etc. débats, activités de groupe, recherches, entre autres. Ainsi, le modèle se distingue par le fait qu’il intègre l’apprentissage en ligne à l’apprentissage en classe et met en relation deux approches pédagogiques actuelles, le m-learning et le SAI. Pour l’élaboration de ML-SAI, outre la revue de la littérature, des recherches exploratoires ont été menées au moyen d’une enquête sur les indicateurs et de trois études de cas pilotes, qui ont permis de mieux comprendre certaines des questions liées à l’utilisation éducative des technologies mobiles combinées avec la théorie des SAI. Afin d'expérimenter le modèle, trois études de cas portant sur des lycéens et des étudiants ont été organisées au cours de l'année scolaire 2019, à l'aide de leur propre téléphone cellulaire. La collecte et l'analyse des données ont été favorisées par le biais de questionnaires en ligne de Google Forms, impliquant une approche qualitative et quantitative, en raison des caractéristiques des données. Full textA presente pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar os impactos do uso do telemóvel no estilo de vida (tempo de lazer, relações sociais e comportamentos sedentários) de adolescentes no ensino secundário da comunidade autónoma de Aragão (Espanha). Começámos por rever conceitos, realizámos uma revisão acerca do bem-estar e dos hábitos de vida dos adolescentes, do telemóvel e suas implicações para a saúde e estilos de vida, seus usos e representações. Metodologicamente, trata-se de um estudo descritivo e quantitativo. Realizámos uma análise exploratória dos dados e, complementarmente testamos a relação entre variáveis. Em conclusão, podemos afirmar que os adolescentes em Aragon: Têm uma visão positiva da sua saúde; Entre os comportamentos sedentários associados aos ecrãs, prevalece o uso do telemóvel no fim de semana; A segurança é a função de referência (valor simbólico) mais valorizada do telemóvel; Poder comunicar com os amigos, é a principal razão apontada para querer ter o seu primeiro telemóvel; Enviar e receber mensagens de amigos é a função comunicativa (valor instrumental) mais valorizada do telemóvel; Ouvir música ou rádio, é o maior uso na função lúdico-expressiva-organizacional (valor instrumental) do telemóvel.
La présente recherche visait à analyser les impacts de l'utilisation du téléphone portable dans les modes de vie (temps de loisirs, les relations sociales et les comportements sédentaires) des adolescents dans l' enseignement secondaire dans la communauté autonome d' Aragon (Espagne). Nous commençons par examiner les conceptualisations, nous explorons le bien-être et les habitudes de vie chez les adolescents, le téléphone portable et ses implications pour la santé et les modes de vie, ses utilisations et ses représentations. Méthodologiquement, ce est une étude descriptive et quantitative. Nous avons effectué une analyse exploratoire des données, et complémentaire nous testons la relation entre les variables. En conclusion, nous pouvons dire que les adolescents en Aragon: ils ont une vision positive de leur santé; parmi les comportements sédentaires associés aux écrans, prédomine l' utilisation du téléphone portable dand le week-end; la securité est la fonction référentielle (valeur symbolique) le plus précieux du téléphone portable; être capable de communiquer avec leurs amis, est la principale raison de vouloir avoir son premier téléphone portable; envoyer et recevoir des messages à des amis/amies, est la fonction communicative (valeurs instrumentale) le plus précieux du téléphone portable; écouter de la musique ou de la radio, est la supérieur utilisation de la fonction ludique-expressive-organisationnel (valeur instrumentale) du téléphone portable.
The present study aims to analyze the impacts of mobile phone use in lifestyles (leisure time, social relations, and sedentary behaviors) of adolescents in secondary education of the autonomous community of Aragon (Spain). We begin by reviewing conceptualizations, we reviewed about wellness and lifestyle of adolescents, the mobile phone and its implications for health and lifestyles, their uses and representations. Methodologically, it is a descriptive and quantitative study. We performed an exploratory data analysis, and complementarily we test the relationship between variables. In conclusion, we can confirm that adolescents in Aragon: they have a positive view of their health; among sedentary behaviors associated with the screens, it prevails use of mobile phones at the weekend; safety is the referential function (symbolic value) most valued of the mobile phone; being able to communicate with friends, is the main reason for wanting to have their first mobile phone; sending and receiving messages from friends is the communicative function (instrumental value) most valued of the mobile phone; listening to music or radio, is the increased use of the playful-expressive-organizational function (instrumental value) of the mobile phone).
