Abstract:
The aim of this essay is to analyze teacher’s thoughts about Sami culture, religion and history. How do teachers shape their teaching in these topics? Teachers in secondary school and the subjects religion and history has been the basis of the survey. To complete this work, these methods have been used; qualitative research interview, surveys and hermeneutics. When you conduct a study that involves people you have to include ethical principles. In this essay, these principals have supported the methods to fulfill the study. The Sami topic has been visible in the field, in different ways. Regarding its visibility in school, it is clear that Sami has been overlooked in teaching materials and by previous research in different school levels and subjects. The supporting theory in this essay is a curriculum-based theory that has looked deeper into the subjects religion and history curricula for elementary school and secondary school. This essay shows that Sami neither takes up a large or a small part in the teaching. Instead the Sami culture, religion and history appear as an example in other areas of these subjects.

Abstract:
The aim of this essay is to explore how Swedish textbooks and official documents regarding the upper secondary school present indigenous religions. Special emphasis is placed on how the textbooks write about the Sami religion. The issues have been what picture do the textbooks give of the Sami religion and other indigenous religions? What do the authorities write about indigenous religions in the control documents of the school? Do the textbooks give a stereotypical image of indigenous people? Are indigenous religions considered as a historical or contemporary phenomenon? The method has been text analysis and ten textbooks in Religious studies have been investigated. The theoretical perspective is Bhabha´s theory of stereotypes and the other.    The result shows that the curriculum for the upper secondary school proclaim that schools should teach about Sami religion, but it doesn´t say anything of other indigenous religions. The subject syllabus of religion does not include anything about Sami religion or any other indigenous religions. This could be one reason why the books write little about the subject. Not even half the textbooks have a chapter about indigenous religions. Only two textbooks had a section about Sami religion. Whether the textbooks give a stereotypical picture of indigenous people or not differ between books. About half the books give a stereotypical description of indigenous people. The Sami people were not described in a stereotypical way, but occasionally they were described as the other.Mainly the textbooks describe the religions as something that belong in the past or in remote areas of the world.

Abstract:
The aim of this essay is to study how the Sami are presented in four textbooks about religion and history that are used in the schools of the majority culture of Sweden today and one book of ideas asto how a textbook could look like from a Sami's perspective. Its aim is not only to study how the Sami are presented but also to discuss how students who read these books could interpret what it means to be a Sami and what their culture is about. It is also meant to discuss how the Sami identitycould be formed. In order to be able to discuss this the essay uses three different kinds of theories about identity and culture. The analysis showed that there is little information about Sami culture, identity, religion and historypresented in the four textbooks used in schools of the majority culture and that these books seem to want students to think that the Sami are troublemakers but are and should be assimilated into the majority culture.

Abstract:
The oppression that indigenous people experienced in many decades slowly began to loosen after the second world war, this is partly visible in the growing number of international convention protecting indigenous people. The racism and discrimination towards the indigenous people were exchanged with an aim to mediate a respectful and informative view of the history about the indigenous people to the majority. The Sami people’s history, the indigenous people of Norway, Sweden, Russia and Finland, is a European example of colonial oppression inside the boundaries of Europe. This essay aim to analyze how the Samis are represented in the Swedish curriculum from 1994 and 2011 and the Norwegian curriculum from 1997 and 2015. The analyze is concentrated to the subjects Religious Education and History. The theory of the analyze is based on postcolonial theory presented by Ania Loomba which make it possible to critically examine the curriculums.

Abstract:
This is an exploration of concepts and identities of Sami people in northern Sweden regarding conflicts on mining. The Sami have a history of feeling that others are encroaching on them and ignoring them and their wishes, the latest being the mining companies. There is also the issue of who gets to be considered as Sami and how the Sami identity is characterised. There are different positions among the Sami, some are enthusiastic and some are opposed. The view of the traditional land can be understood as a sacred connection with nature that is not understood by the majority society. Connecting with the land is vital as the link between the generations. Sweden has been ranked as one of the world’s most attractive places for mining investments in recent years and it is seen as one of today’s biggest challenges for the survival of the Sami culture. The majority society’s and the mining industry’s view on sustainability includes opening of mines, to be able to extract minerals to use in wind parks and electric cars where the Sami are seen as standing in the way. A discourse in Sweden is that all of the north is a vast space, with fewer and fewer inhabitants. With many who are moving to the bigger cities in the south, this is also seen as a way to create jobs for a hopeful future in the towns up north. The Sami faces a misunderstanding majority society where their history is not recognised and the strengthening of indigenous peoples’ rights in recent years have only lead to symbolic gestures for the Sami. This thesis has been made through spending time with these groups as well as trying to be a sensitive researcher who will contribute to the interest and understanding of those written about.

Abstract:
This paper has three aims: to identify how Islam and Muslims are pictured in Muslim popular music, to examine if the message has been adjusted dependig on the listener, and if the music can be used in the construction of identities. To achieve this aim, music by the artists Sami Yusuf and Maher Zain have been analyzed. The research questions are; which images of Islam and Muslims are being portrayed through the music of Sami Yusuf and Maher Zain? Are there any differences in the images and the messages depending on who the listener is? What meaning can the music have for the constuction of individual and collective forms of identity? The material consists of 52 song lyrics which have been studied using the method of content analysis. The data were analyzed in relation to Mediatization Theory as described by Hjarvard, Schofield Clark and Lövheim, as well as Ammerman's theory on identity and religion. The result of the study shows that Muslim popular music portray Islam as a religion of love that promotes peace. According to the themes that were identified Muslims are pictured as people who have gone through hardships, who have left their old life behind them and found inner peace with the help of Allah. Muslims are portrayed as people who love their families and the Prophet Muhammad, and they worship Allah and believe in an afterlife. Only small differences in the music's message depending on the receiver were found. One difference is that songs in English tend to contain a smaller amount of references to religion than songs that are sung in for example Arabic. The result show that muslim popular music can help the construction of identities because it portrays a different kind of image of Islam compared to the negative image portrayed by the media. The music also provides the listener with biographical stories to identify with and invities people to Islam. Moreover, the songs challenge both Western modernity and traditional Islam.

Abstract:
Syftet med examensarbetet var att undersöka samer och samisk religion i relation till undervisningsämnet religionskunskap. Studien har undersökt läroplanernas utveckling, både från grundskolan och gymnasieskolan med fokus på samisk religion. Läromedel inom religionsämnet har dessutom granskats i relation till läroplanernas förändringar samt för varje undervisningsstadium. En enkätstudie har slutligen genomförts vilken ligger till grund för lärares framställning av samisk religion i undervisningsämnet utifrån Lgr 11 och Gy 11. Metoden som tillämpats i studien har varit en komparativ metod samt kvalitativ metod med kvantitativa inslag. Resultatet visar att samisk religion fått större plats i läroplanerna i relation till samhällsförändringar. Läroplanerna utgör den grund som läromedel utgår från, med andra ord struktureras läromedel utifrån läroplanernas innehåll liksom fokusområde.  I samband med Lgr 11 och Gy 11 har samer med tillhörande religion fått större utrymme i läromedel. Trots detta visar studien att förhållandevis få läromedel behandlar samer och samisk religion i relation till andelen läromedel som granskats i examensarbetet. Resultatet visar att drygt hälften av lärarna som medverkat i studien undervisar om samer, detta trots att majoriteten av lärarna menar att tiden inte räcker till. Flertalet lärare anser det viktigt att belysa samer och samisk religion i undervisningen, lärarna önskar därför att lärarutbildningar i större utsträckning lyfter Sveriges nationella minoriteter. Majoriteten av lärarna menar däremot att de har tillräckliga kunskaper för att samer ska behandlas rättvist i undervisningen. Resultatet har skildrats i relation till ett diskursteoretiskt ramverk för att synliggöra maktstrukturerna gällande majoritetssamhälle och minoritetssamhälle.
The purpose with this advanced professional degree was to research Sami populations with associated religion in relation to religious education. In addition, the study has researched the development of the national school curriculum from primary school and secondary school with focus on Sami religion. Development and changes in teaching materials in accordance with the development of the school curriculum and its various phases has also been examined. To conclude, a survey has laid the foundation for a study of teachers' own portrayal of Sami religion in RE for Lgr 11 and Gy 11 students. A Qualitative Comparative analysis methodology has been practiced in the study with some quantitative uses. The results of the study show the Sami religion has received a larger place in the national school curriculum in relation to societal changes. The school curriculum sets the foundation the school materials are based on, in other words the materials are structured on the basis of the curriculum and its focus area. In relation to Lgr 11 and Gy 11, Sami with associated religion has seen a significant place in teaching materials. Despite this, there are comparatively few teaching materials that cover Sami population with Sami religion in relation to the amount of researched materials. Results show about half of the teachers participating in the study include Sami population and history in their teachings, despite the majority of teachers stating that time spent is not enough. Many teachers state Sami studies are important in education and wish that teachers' education include Sami more frequently. However, the majority of teachers report that they have sufficient competence for Sami to be covered in their teachings. The result has been described in relation to discourse theoretical framework to cast light on the hierarchical structures concerning majority and minority society.

Abstract:
The similarities between psychosis and different mystical experiences are striking. Professor Jens-Ivar Nergård (1998, 2006) has pointed out similarities between the calling of the Sami shaman/nåjd and the state of psychosis and high-lights the reciprocal meanings andpurposes of these similarities in a Saami context where the calling and the called are regarded as meaningful for the community. By comparing what psychodynamic theorynames psychosis with the calling process of the nåjd the aim of this work is to investigatethe question of how the latter’s discourse finds individual and contextual purpose andmeaning in the psychological functions leading to the former. Since this comparison andinvestigation concerns two different ontologies and discourses, with their own conceptsand views on the psychological functions mentioned, it is done in a qualitative comparativemethod of discourse analysis.The psychodynamic discourse through the books of professor Johan Cullberg classifiespsychosis as a psychological regression to a more primitive psychological state in whichthe individual is caught in primary process thoughts; characterized by dilutions, hallucinations and magical thinking. The psychodynamic discourse sees no contextual, and verylittle individual, meaning or purpose with these functions. This theory is what I will compare to the material given by primarily Jens-Ivar Nergård from a Saami discourse.What I find in the discourse material is an ontology - simultaneously psychological, spiritual, practical and religious (hence the interest from the perspective of psychology of religion) – which differs from the ontology of the psychodynamic discourse in crucial ways.In the Saami discourse the individual experiencing what the theory would name hallucinations, dilutions or psychosis is never disconnected from his or her community and contextbut is instead seen as an important and strong bringer of insights and knowledge. This isconnected to the ontology mentioned above in which relating to - seeing, hearing and interacting with - non-human persons is viewed as a natural experience to understand andrelate to nature, the community, the past and present. The psychological functions in which these interactions take place are regarded as meaningful, significant and sacred.

Abstract:
The purpose with this thesis is to study three theology teaching materials to analyze the Sami people involvements in these. A comparison has been made with Old Scandinavian religion since the textbooks I have studied are all placed in the same category. In the thesis, I will also investigate how the Sami and their religion is represented. I will research this from a qualitative and quantitative approach due the fact that reviews of today's learning material are limited and that teachers now have the responsibility to review this. Studies show, however, that eight out of ten teachers lack the proper time for these reviews. The theoretical approach I have used is Ninian Smarts seven dimensions of religion combined with post-colonialism. The Post-colonial theory is broad and has not been applied as a whole in this thesis, just its main concepts. These concepts are; essentialism, exoticism, stereotyping and ethnocentrism. The result from this thesis shows that you cannot for certain determine if the Sami religion has a larger or smaller presence compared to Old Scandinavian religions due to the fact that all three textbooks analyzed differ in this matter. One can also note that hints of a negative picture towards the Sami is still present judging by interpretations of certain concepts.

Abstract:
The thesis discusses a category of cultural heritage that has been labelled "Sami circular offering sites", aiming to establish some basic facts about their origin, distribution and use, as well as their cultural and socio-political context and influence. The stone enclosures in question have been interpreted as Sami offering sites since the mid-19th century, but a discourse analysis of the research history indicates that this may have been based on a scholarly hypothesis rather than ethnographic or archaeological evidence. Furthermore it is questioned if all the structures that are currently included in this category are in fact remains of the same cultural practice. This is investigated through surveys of 81 suggested circular offering sites in Norway, two excavations and analyses of the find material. The large stone enclosures in counties Finnmark and Troms that were first categorised in this way prove to have quite consistent builds and measurements and a find material mainly dating between the 13th and 17th centuries. These structures are here labelled type 1. In contrast, constructions that have later been added to the category, particularly in other areas, have other and less consistent characteristics and seem to include remains of a range of different activities. They are here divided into two generic types 2 and 3. The thesis further discusses alternative interpretations for the type 1 structures, concluding that their materiality, construction, location, topography and finds are consistent with archaeological, historical and ethnographic evidence for wolf traps. Their distribution indicates a regional Sami cultural practice related to inland winter habitation and travel routes, while also apparently coinciding with the Russian/Karelian taxation area in northern Norway in the Middle Ages. Thus the builds may have been inspired by the fur trade or other activities of the latter groups. It is uncertain when exactly the installations fell into disuse, as datings are calibrated to AD 1450-1650. The abandonment could be related to the decline of Novgorod as a fur trade centre, Russian loss of taxation rights in northern Norway, increased Swedish impact in the inland areas and Norwegian activity along the coasts, which all led to changes in administration, taxation, trade patterns and demand for furs. The contemporary decimation of the wild reindeer population, increased reindeer herding and introduction of new weapons like crossbows, guns and foothold traps, may all have made permanent trapping installations less useful. The sites may, however, have gone out of use at different times. Certain finds of marrow split bones, very recent coins and other objects suggest a later reconceptualisation of some structures as offering sites, whether as a local explanation or inspired by the later scholarly definition. Throughout the thesis, the construction and distribution of the archaeological category and the preference for the ritual or religious interpretation are discussed as results of specific socio-political contexts, where stereotypical notions about Sami identity and culture have had a strong impact. The thesis explores how academic and other narratives influence each other within certain discourses of power and indigenous "rights and rites", and the continuous mutual impact on individual actions and emotions through networks of people, power and things. The present reinterpretation challenges existing academic and local narratives. It is based on the materiality of the structures, but the offering site explanation is not positively refuted. Yet, as part of an authorised heritage discourse, the present statement is more likely to impact future categorisation and practices than other narratives within other discourses, expressing a persistent and inherent power inequality. This may be ethically problematic in the context of an indigenous minority, but it may also be argued that the role of the archaeologist expert is precisely to expose the insisting materiality of the past and the power/knowledge networks that promote specific narratives about it.

The following essay aims to determine what textbooks and teaching media educators in the county of Västerbotten use when teaching the relation between religion and science. Based on educational science theory and through analyzes of factual texts, the teaching materials was examined to determine how much focus they put on the thematic of religion and science. The result shows how the different teaching materials affect this thematic differently. The main conclusion is therefore that students in Sweden could, depending on the teaching materials used in their education, be taught by different standards to reach the same requirements.

Abstract:
Syftet med denna undersökning var att ta reda på om det finns islamofobi bland eleverna. Genom en enkätstudie på 103 elever i en mellanstor högstadieskola i södra Sverige har jag tagit reda på vad eleverna tycker och hur de ställer sig till religionen islam och om deras inställning till islam kan klassificeras som islamofobi. Vidare undersöker jag vad de anser att religionskunskapsundervisningen har bidragit med. Genom att använda mig av teorier som orientalismen och didsktiska teorier har jag försökt att besvara på frågorna om varför islamofobi uppstår och förslag på hur en lärare kan arbeta i klassrummet för att motverka islamofobiska uttryck och föreställningar. Resultatet som framkom genom enkätstudien var att majoriteten av eleverna hade en positiv inställning till islam. I påståendena som berörde islam som en främlingsfientlig religion valde majoriteten av eleverna att besvara med att de inte anser att islam är ett hot eller att islam förespråkar terrorism. Majoriteten av eleverna valde att besvara frågeställningarna i en positiv riktning vilket innebär att de inte visade att de hade islamofobiska föreställningar och resultatet visade att mestadels av deras föreställningar, förutom frågan om bland annat kvinnoförtryck, tyder på att de inte har några föreställningar om religionen islam.

Abstract:
Eftersom livsåskådning och identitet är viktigt för alla människor finns ämnesområdet bl.a. i religionskunskapsämnet. Genom gymnasiereformen 2011, skrevs även intersektionalitet in i kursplanen d.v.s. hur kön, socioekonomisk bakgrund, etnicitet och sexualitet kan interagera med religiösa och andra livsåskådningar. Även relationen mellan "identitet och tillhörighet" betonades i kursplanen. Identitetsbegreppet är dock mångfacetterat, utifrån detta väcktes intresset för ämnesområdet "identitet" som ligger till grund för denna läroboksanalys. Syftet med den här studien har varit att belysa hur två religionsläroböcker för gymnasiet presenterar och gestaltar identitetsbegreppet relaterat till religion, kön, sexualitet och/eller kärlek, samt genus och sexualrelaterat våld. Samt belysa hur lärare kan arbeta didaktiskt med s.k. känsliga ämnen såsom olika former av genus och sexualrelaterat våld som beskrivs i religionsläroböckerna. Metoden har bestått av en detaljerad undersökning av specifika textavsnitt i två religionsläroböcker genom en kvalitativ textanalys. I min kvalitativa textanalys har jag arbetat med preciserade frågor till texten utifrån analysverktyg inspirerat av Esaiasson m.fl. Undersökningen visade bl.a. att värderingar och normer om identitet relaterat till religion, kön, sexualitet och/eller kärlek, samt genus och sexualrelaterat våld ofta implicit beskrivs och porträtteras utifrån en västerländsk kontext där värden såsom individualism och s.k. fria val är centrala. Även om läroböckerna explicit tagit hänsyn till mångkultur. Båda religionsläroböckerna relaterar även överlag homosexualitet etc. både explicit och implicit med strukturella förtryck och problem. Vilket bidrar till att icke-heterosexuell läggning beskrivs och porträtteras som annorlunda, trots att det säkert inte alls varit författarnas intentioner. Genus och sexualitetsrelaterat våld krockar således med skolans värdegrund och diskuteras i uppsatsens diskussionsdel, utifrån intersektionalitetsbegreppet, Robert Jacksons tolkande ansats samt utav David Lifmarks tolkningar av Martha Nussbaums emotionsteori.

Abstract

The purpose with this essay is to present a picture of the changes in religious education in Sweden, and to make comparisons between Denmark’s and the USA’s model about teaching in religion. I have consequently described the historical development, with the beginning of the establishement of the public school, inte the year of 1842. 1919, a new document about the religious education was released, wich result in some major changes. This was in a time were the debate about religion and the Lutheran State Church of Sweden authority was an issue. The result was, among others, the abolition of the catechism as an educational material and the teaching of religion was given a considerable reduced amount of hours and the teaching was now supposed to be non-confessional. This was in a time when christianity and religion over all had come in to question. Objectivity was the leading word in this new curriculum.

In the USA there is no curriculum for teaching religion in the public school, a desicion characterized with the ideology of the religious neutral state. In Denmark there is religious teaching, with a strong emphasis on christianity.

This present text seeks to present the relationship between religion and art from Meishu-Sama s thought, founder of Sekai Kyusei Kyo (named Igreja Messiânica Mundial in Portuguese), religion founded in Japan in 1935 and that arrived in Brazil in 1955. To do this, we briefly describe his personal and religious history and the foundations of his teachings. For him, Beauty may promote the salvation of mankind, bringing their spirituality through the contact with various forms of art. The research examines, among others, concepts of Beauty, salvation and religion under the thought of Meishu-Sama. It presents considerations about the religious phenomenon, mainly addressing the aspects of sacred and symbol. Specially, it dialogues with the German theologian Paul Tillich and the Theology of Culture, aiming to establish a rapprochement between the two perspectives with regard to painting. The study describes the salvific power of Beauty in some forms of artistic events and sacred spaces offK.(AU)
Este texto busca apresentar a relação entre religião e arte a partir do pensamento de Meishu-Sama, fundador da Igreja Messiânica Mundial, religião criada no Japão em 1935 e que chegou ao Brasil em 1955. Para isso, descrevemos brevemente a sua trajetória pessoal e religiosa e os fundamentos de seus ensinamentos. Para ele, o Belo pode promover a salvação do ser humano, elevando a sua espiritualidade através do contato com as várias modalidades artísticas. A pesquisa analisa, entre outros, os conceitos de Belo, de salvação e de religião no âmbito do pensamento de Meishu-Sama. Apresenta considerações sobre o fenômeno religioso, abordando principalmente os aspectos do sagrado e do símbolo. Em especial, dialoga com o teólogo alemão Paul Tillich e sua Teologia da Cultura, buscando estabelecer uma aproximação entre as duas perspectivas no que diz respeito à pintura. The present research intends to contribute to the relation field between religion and education, specifically the concept of religion as an educational process ac-cording to the thought of Meishu-Sama, founder of the Church of World Mes-sianity. The research is divided into three parts. At first, it presents the life of Meishu-Sama and the history of foundation of the Messianic Church, which oc-curred in the first half of the twentieth century in Japan. In the second part, the concept of Meishu-Sama on the function of religion and its relation with educa-tion is studied, especially in the key challenge for the development of human being. In the third part, a dialogue between the educational thoughts of Paulo Freire and Meishu-Sama is established, especially the challenge of humanizing and notions of banking education and liberating dialogue (Paulo Freire) and dead education and living education (Meishu-Sama). In this dialogue it is given emphasis to the notion spiritual education of Meishu-Sama, who con-siders fundamental to critic the disbelief of the modern world regarding the spiritual world . For this author, deconstructing the materialistic thought and integrating the human nature is the task of religion as much as of education.
Esta pesquisa busca apresentar contribuições para o campo da relação entre religião e educação, especificamente a concepção da religião como um pro-cesso pedagógico no pensamento de Meishu-Sama, fundador da Igreja Messi-ânica Mundial. O trabalho está dividido em três partes. A primeira apresenta a vida de Meishu-Sama e a história da fundação da Igreja Messiânica Mundial, que ocorreu na primeira metade do século XX no Japão. A segunda estuda a concepção de Meishu-Sama sobre a função da religião e a relação desta com a educação, especialmente no desafio fundamental para a formação do ser hu-mano. A terceira parte estabelece um diálogo entre os pensamentos educacio-nais de Paulo Freire e Meishu-Sama, especialmente em torno do desafio da humanização e das noções de educação bancária e a libertadora dialógica (Paulo Freire) e a educação morta e educação viva (Meishu-Sama). Neste diálogo é dado destaque à noção de educação espiritualista de Meishu-Sama, que considera fundamental criticar a descrença do mundo moderno em relação ao mundo espiritual . Para este autor, desconstruir o pensamento materialista e integrar o ser humano na natureza é tarefa tanto da religião co-mo da educação.

Denna uppsats redogör för hur mening skapas kring könsroller inom mormonismen utifrån dess religiösa urkunder samt förkunnanden från auktoriteter inom kyrkan. Ljuskastas över mansidealet, kvinnoidealet och maktrelationer inom religionen utifrån frågan om kön. Undersökningen är avgränsad till de tre specifika religiösa urkunderna som är specifika för mormonismen (Mormons bok, Den kostbara pärlan samt Läranoch förbunden), vidare undersöks uttalanden/förkunnanden från mormonska auktoriteterinom kyrkan gällande frågan om kön. Undersökningen genomförs kvalitativt och analyserar resultaten utefter diskursanalys och diskursteori. Undersökningen kommer attvisa på att språkbruket inom mormonismen utgår från en essentialistisk syn på kön där kvinnans och mannens olika ordinerade roller i livet baseras på denna syn. Vidare upptäcks stora skillnader på hur man talar om kvinnor respektive män, där språket är särskilt värderande. Utifrån språket synliggörs maktrelationer där mannen både erhåller makten i kyrkan och ses som familjens överhuvud.

This study focuses on the difficult Sami heritage which is exhibited within local history museums in northern Sweden. The study incorporates theories from cultural science and sociology but it is written within religious history as a philological and text-oriented discipline where discourses and social constructions of the Sami heritage and worldviews are in focus. The overall aim of this study is to increase the understanding of the difficult Sami heritage. This means that the analysis focuses on perspectives and discourses within local museums and Sami organisations.   The first research question revolves around the significances and meanings of the difficult Sami heritage: What phenomena (artefacts) and dimensions (immaterial culture) of the difficult past in Sapmi are highlighted? The second research question revolves around the power to represent the Sami heritage: How is the difficult Sami heritage represented? The third research question revolves around perspectives within museum practices: What approaches are the museum practice based upon?   This study focuses on four museums in northern Sweden; Ajtte museum, Samgården, Norrbottens museums and Hägnan museum. They are all local history museums which exhibit the past within a specific region from a rather broad or holistic historical perspective. The student visited each museum and observed the exhibitions then. She read texts, analysed artefacts and watched movies. Facts and interpretations were documented with a pen and the most important phenomena authenticated with a camera.   The difficult phenomena and dimensions within the museums were structured in three groups: living conditions, dark artefacts and colonization. The group living condition refers to poor people, risks, cold climate, hard work, illnesses and social classes. Dark artefacts refer to very old graves and drums which have been lost to the external society. Colonization refers to representations of Sápmi, uses of lands and resources, wounds, lack of local participation within decision-making processes, conflicts and women´s rights.   The analysis of representations highlights reflections about the meanings of the difficult and how subjective this is. Many dimensions within the Sami culture which have appeared as difficult from a colonialist perspective may be bright from an insider perspective. The museum practices follow discourses but there are few expressions within the museums which are associated with ethnocentrism. The external society is not presented as something higher, better or more valuable, but it is obvious that the government did hurt the region in the past.   The museums which were included in this study, based practices on a local separatist/patriotic approach since the unique Sami culture was in focus. It was portrayed as something which stays in contrast to the overall society. The Sami culture was associated with positive characteristics such as traditional, peaceful, original and authentic. The peace and international understanding approach was also embedded since exhibitions were based on ideas expressed within The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) about the rights indigenous people have. The study also concludes that these museums rather based the practice on patriotic thinking, than a cosmopolitan. The museums made use of a bottom-up approach into a varying extent.  When the local perceptions were in focus are the following phenomena highlighted: the inner compass (director with wisdom), wounds of colonization, local worldviews and interaction with nature and animals.

Syftet med mitt arbete var att öka min förståelse för hur barn tänker kring kunskapsbegreppet generellt samt specifikt inom historia och religion.

Jag läste litteratur i ämnet för att ge en bakgrund till hur forskningen sett och ser på kunskap och inlärning. Martons m.fl. "Inlärning och omvärldsuppfattning" samt Pramlings "Barn och inlärning" har varit till stor hjälp. En viktig del i arbetet har även Pramlings metodbok för barnintervjuer haft. Jag har intervjuat åtta barn i en årskurs fyra om vad de uppfattat att de lärt sig generellt och specifikt på lågstadiet och jag har via enkät bett fyra lågstadielärare svara på frågor om vad de tar upp inom ämnena historia och religion samt vilka mål de har med sin undervisning däri.

Med detta material som grund fann jag att det i denna grupp fanns en tydlig tendens att det som barnen i första hand uppfattar som kunskap var det som vi betecknar som grundläggande färdigheter inom matematik och svenska. I historia och religion var barnens uppfattningar om vad de lärt sig mer vaga, speciellt inom religion. Förhållandet mellan lärares mål med undervisningen och elevers uppfattningar om vad de lärt sig visar på en större ”samsyn” i historieundervisningen än i religionsundervisningen.

Vi har tidigare undersökt hur elever i nian i Kalmar vill ha sin religionsundervisning på gymnasiet. De resultat som framkom visade att eleverna gärna diskuterar på religionsundervisningen samt att de hellre läser om sekter och Afrikas religioner än om de fem världsreligionerna. I den här studien läggs fokus på lärare som undervisar i kärnämneskursen religionskunskap A på en gymnasieskola i sydöstra Sverige. Vi har intervjuat sex lärare från två gymnasieskolor i Kalmar, vi ställde tretton frågor uppdelade i fyra teman. Vi valde att undersöka hur lärarna ser på kursplanen, innehållet, metoden och religionskunskap A´s relevans som kärnämne och dess framtid. De resultat som framkom var att lärarna är positiva till kursplanen och trots att den är så fri så undervisar lärarna om i stort sett samma saker, de fem världsreligionerna och etik och moral. Samtliga använder de sig av varierade undervisningsmetoder och kunskapstest. Trots våra tidigare resultat som visade att eleverna inte var så intresserade av de fem världsreligionerna så anser de tillfrågade lärarna att dessa tillhör det viktigaste att ta upp i religionskursen

This study is an exploration of the ways in which early Islamic conceptualizations and judgments concerning liwāṭ (male-male anal copulation) and siḥāq (tribadism) were not simply based on self-evident Scriptural passages, but involved a number of extrapolations and interpretations by early jurists and exegetes. These extrapolations and interpretations in turn reflect the discursive cultural and historical milieu of early Muslim scholars. This study will serve to illuminate the correlation between social context and the early development of the Islamic canon. It will be the first step towards gauging the relationship between existing social practices and the substance of what became the Islamic normative doctrine on sex and sexuality at large, both of which serve to shed light on the formation of the early Islamic tradition. To study the process by which exegetes, ḥadīth transmitters, jurists, and scholars interpreted and adjudicated same-sex sexual acts, a process that can be extended to other issues facing the nascent Muslim community, is to study the making of the Sunnī Islamic tradition. The aim of this research is therefore, to reconstruct the historical discourses concerning same-sex sexual acts (liwāṭ and siḥāq) as a means of gaining insight into the formation of the early Islamic tradition. But the overall project is certainly not to rest content with that, but to make a more general theoretical point about the relation between scriptural texts and authoritative religious interpretations, and the ways in which the latter inevitably go beyond the former in a number of historically specific ways.

This thesis argues that the neglected images of the history of science, found in the western alchemical tradition, provide a unique resource for thinking about same-sex union. It provides an opportunity to re-examine the cultural appropriation of these images, used by Jungian psychoanalysis and Evolian traditionalist metaphysics, which deny the validity of same-sex union and homosexuality. By adopting Foucauldian methodologies and using his effective historical, archaeological and genealogical approaches, the thesis argues that there is a silent secondary discourse supported through alchemical imagery that celebrates male same-sex union. The thesis shows how alchemy can be seen as a counter-memory to the dominant regime of sexual-union. By integrating Foucault and the suppressed alchemical images of the Solidonius manuscript with its unique all-male union I argue that this manuscript is a contemporary to Jung's seminal exploration of the Rosarium Philosophorum from which Jung, and Evola, outline the basis of a compulsive heteronormativity in their respective individuation and intiatic techniques. The thesis challenges the existing denial of same-sex union manifesting through identity politics and same-sex marriage. Chapter 1 demonstrates the problem and paradox of the internalized image of the hermaphrodite of Jung and Evola. It outlines a framework of etymological and phenomenological language which is used to critically expose the sui generis claims of the hermaphrodite's role in denying same-sex union. Chapter 2 provides the historical contextualization of the alchemical images, tracing the hermaphrodite trope through four successive phases. These are the philosophical, the alchemical (proper), the hermetic and the psychic. Finally, chapters 3 and 4 combined the alchemical symbols and Foucauldian critical perspectives to develop a reclamation of alchemical same-sex union. Although Foucault dismissed the value of alchemy, this integration offers an original reconceptualization that has the potential to impact directly on the internalized lives of those participating in same-sex identity politics today.

This thesis has investigated the effect of political influence, religious denomination, and level of equality regarding same-sex marriage legislation among the 28 member states of the European Union (EU). Furthermore, prior research has been related to the topics: same-sex marriage cases within the EU court, religious influence on approval of homosexuality, Conservative, Liberal, and Social democratic ideas regarding same-sex marriage and research about Feminism and equality. It has used a quantitative, comparative, and causal analysis to test the six hypotheses by using Cox Regression. The thesis has concluded that religious influence had a negativeeffect on the same-sex marriage legislation, disregarding denomination, and the level of social cohesion and equality had a positive effect on the legislation. Additionally, the result has shown that among the member states of the EU, the phenomenon of same-sex marriage was not a politically polarised, but that there were rather possible other variables not included in the analysis that could explain why half of the member states have legislated same-sex marriage. However, the predicted hazard rate of no legislation has increased and if the trend would continue there could possibly be a consensus among the members of the EU in the future.

We live in a society where preconceived notions about religious schools and indoctrination are many but the rules regarding a non-denominational education are strict. It is of great importance to get a better understanding of religious schools and their effect on the pupils that attend them. The aim of this study is to analyze whether or not the compulsory religious education on a private religious school in the south of Sweden is non-denominational. In order to get a greater understanding of the impact on the pupils’ religious identity, Henri Tajfel’s theory of social identity is used. A total of eight observations, three interviews and collected materials such as previous tests regarding Islam, Christianity and Judaism have been gathered and discussed with the help of Tajfel’s theory and other previous research. The results show that some denominational elements could be found in the compulsory education and that the school at hand had an impact on their pupils’ Muslim identities. With these results, my ambition is that teachers that read this study will be more reflective and critical of their own teaching. It is possible that some teachers do not notice that their own religion or beliefs are shining through their teaching and could potentially effect the pupils. However, if teachers start to reflect upon their teaching and the impacts it could have on a pupil these denominational elements could be prevented.

The aim of this paper is to study how school yoga in Östermalmsskolan is expressed in the texts consist of a notification to the Schools Inspectorate, an opinion to the Schools Inspectorate and a statement of the Schools Inspectorate. The method used for the investigation is a critical discourse analysis which study social and political processes in the society as created through language. The perspective of the critical discourse analysis is a social construction that considers that language is a social production created in a discursive way. It produces and reflects social process in the language. By using theories of different concepts such as yoga, religion, spirituality, non-denominational and freedom of religion, my aim is to investigate how yoga is expressed in the school inspectorate text. With this method I’m aiming to analyze the discourse of the investigation of document from 2012, of complaint against Östermalmsskolan teaching yoga. The conclusion of the study is that in the document to the Schools Inspectorate there are two different religion definitions, which are substantial and functional definition of religion. In the motivations of accepting yoga teaching in school, the school inspectorate is not incorporating the word, spiritual. Instead they use words as, self-awareness and increased ability to concentrate. I found it hard for the school inspectorate, to identify yoga as non-denominational. There’s a complexity in the school inspectorate document, because there’s indicates of trying to secularize yoga. In the document the problem of guaranty students and parents, a non- denominational yoga teaching, is exposed because the school principal have a responsibility that the performance of yoga teaching will not conflict with the Education Act provisions on denominational elements. The mantra “aum”, that students are exposed to during yoga, is considered without a non- denominational element even though it’s a central element in Hinduism and Buddhism, where it’s used to profess and invoke gods and spirits. In doing so, yoga teaching violates against the Education Act provision of non-denominational education.

Med Anthony Giddens teori om minoriteter och etniciteter kommer att tolka hur läroböckerna framställer minoritetsreligionerna. Problemformuleringen grundar sig i hur läroböckerna framställer Sveriges minoriteters religioner med inriktning på samernas religion och judendomen. I uppsatsen har jag kommit fram till att det inte förekommer någon information om de undersökta nationella minoriteternas religioner, då med inriktning på minoritetsreligioner. Det är viktigt att belysa att det finns mycket information om judendomen, men informationen är inte kopplad till judendomen som religion till ett minoritetsfolk i Sverige.

Denna semistrukturerade intervjustudies syfte är att undersöka vilken uppfattning elever har av buddhismen samt hur de fått denna uppfattning. Studiens resultat baseras på fem intervjuer med elever som går i åk 6. Frågorna denna studie besvarar är vad elever kan om buddhismen, hur de har lärt sig det de kan, både genom skolan och privat samt varför de tycker det är viktigt att lära sig om buddhismen. Denna studie bidrar även med kunskap om hur pedagoger kan arbeta i skolan för att eleverna ska nå kunskaper av religioner samt förstå att religioner, i detta fall buddhismen, kan levas och uttryckas på olika sätt, som läroplanen föreskriver. Eleverna intervjuades enskilt om sina uppfattningar av buddhismen och en analys har genomförts av de resultat intervjusvaren bidrog med. Mina teoretiska utgångspunkter i studien har varit Grimmitts teori om att lära om eller lära av religion samt Deweys syn på erfarenhet. Mitt resultat visar att eleverna i skolan främst lär sig om buddhismen men att elevers privata upplevelser i samband med skolans undervisning kan leda till kunskaper av religionen. Att detta framkom ledde mig till slutsatsen att eleverna behöver få fler erfarenheter av religionen i undervisningen vilket möjliggör att eleverna lär sig av buddhismen. Baserat på uppsatsens resultat förs en konsekvensdiskussion i uppsatsens slutkapitel.

Undersökningen visar på att lärare framhåller många faktorer som påverkar elevers kunskapsinhämtning. På högstadiet förändras eleverna i en hög utsträckning och utvecklar förmågor som de inte tidigare haft. De utvecklar sin reflektionsförmåga, abstraktionsförmåga och sin egen livserfarenhet. De kan nu förstå och sätta sig in i andras perspektiv, vilket är en viktigt för att förstå religioner och religiösa personer. Eleverna utvecklar också under högstadiet sin förmåga att relatera olika fakta med varandra och hur det påverkar varandra.    Vid gymnasiet verkar eleverna ha utvecklat många av de förmågor som högstadielärarna tog hänsyn till, detta enligt lärarna själva men också enligt den progressionsdidaktiska teorin. Gymnasielärarna, men också högstadielärarna, betonar att intresset och en positiv attityd är viktigt för elevernas kunskapsinlärning. Det är viktigt för lärarna att de skapar en positiv attityd för religionsämnet. Ett sätt att skapa engagemang och intresse hos eleverna är att utgå från deras värld och vad som påverkar dem.     Lärarna framhåller också vikten av att elevernas avstånd till religioner och religiösa personer minskar. Därför besöker man platser med religiös anknytning eller får besök av religiösa personer. Detta ökar förståelsen då de får uppleva religionen inifrån.     Lärarna utgår ifrån elevernas förmågor, erfarenheter eller det som påverkar eleverna själva. Därför får det sägas att lärarna för en individanpassad undervisning, enligt den formella bildningsteorin.

Abstract:
The intention with this essay is to illustrate the conflicts that might occur when states implement renewable energy strategies on lands that have traditionally belonged to indigenous peoples. To do so I have analysed case studies from Sweden as well as Latin America regarding renewable energy projects in areas that could be claimed to belong to indigenous groups and compared the conclusions from these studies to what the existing legal framework on the topic of the rights of indigenous peoples dictates. The results show that the main international legislation on the topic is very clear in expressing that states should grant indigenous peoples access to lands and territories that have traditionally been occupied by them, as well as granting them participation in the exploitation of natural resources. The analysis of the case studies shows that there exists a tendency among states to bypass what is stipulated in the international regulations when executing renewable energy projects, as well as using the term “sustainable development” as a cover-up when violating the rights of indigenous peoples. Although the international legislation on the topic is very precise, the majority of the world’s countries have not ratified the main legally binding convention. I conclude that one reason for this could be that states would find it hard to reach environmental objectives while at the same time complying with the legislation on the rights of indigenous peoples, i.e. states face difficulties in fulfilling sustainable environmental and economic objectives with sustainable social objectives.

Sammanfattning

Enligt de styrande regelverken för äldreomsorgen ska beviljade insatser styras av behovet oavsett vilket kön, kultur, religion, språktillhörighet etcetera som personen har. Den demografiska utvecklingens problematik är inte endast ett svenskt utan även ett globalt fenomen eftersom det kommer att ställa andra och högre krav på äldreomsorgen allteftersom omsorgsbehoven ökar.

 

Föreliggande uppsats syfte är att undersöka äldre syrianers deltagande i den kommunala äldreomsorgen. Dessutom ämnas två frågeställningar besvaras dels kring vilket behov som finns av den offentliga äldreomsorgen. Dessutom rör frågeställningarna vad som kan påverka deltagandet i den offentliga äldreomsorgen och kan det påverkas av religiösa, språkliga eller kulturella faktorer?

 

Uppsatsen utgår ifrån en kvantitativ ansats vars databearbetningsprocess baserar sig på en enkätundersökning innehållandes totalt 31 respondenter. Därefter har systematiska mönster i resultatutfallet undersöks och presenteras. Resultaten påvisar att omsorgsbehoven för närvarande inte är särskilt omfattande men att det kommer att ställa andra och högre krav på äldreomsorgen när dessa omsorgsbehov kommer att öka. Deltagandet i äldreomsorgen kan utifrån uppsatsens tolkningsram och resultat styras av både kulturella, religiösa, språkliga samt andra faktorer.

Abstract

 

According to the governing legislations for the geriatric care granted initiatives will be governed by the need irrespective of a person's gender, culture, religion, language etcetera. The demographic development's complex of problem is not only a Swedish but also a global phenomenon since it will set other and higher requirements on the geriatric care as the care needs increase.

 

The aim of this essay is to examine older Syrians participation in the municipal geriatric care. Moreover, two issues are intended to be responded partly concerning which need there is of public geriatric care. Moreover, the issues concern what can influence the participation in the public geriatric care and can there be influence by of religious, linguistic or cultural factors?

 

The essay is based on a quantitative approach which data processing is based on a questionnaire survey containing totally 31 respondents. Then, systematic standards in the result outcome are examined and presented. The results demonstrate that the care needs currently are not particularly extensive but that they will set other and higher requirements on the geriatric care when these care needs will increase. The participation in the geriatric care can, on the basis of the essay's interpretation framework and results, be governed by cultural, religious, linguistic and other factors.

LGB individuals seek out counseling at higher rates than their straight counterparts and they tend to present for counseling with concerns that are unique and different from heterosexuals, such as difficulty reconciling one's sexual orientation with one's own religious beliefs. Yet counselors and counselors-in-training indicate that they have received very little education and/or training for working competently with LGB clients or with clients dealing with issues of religion and spirituality. The counseling profession could benefit from research providing in-depth and descriptive information as to the experiences of LGB participants who have same-sex attractions and come from a religious faith tradition that is not embracing of a non-heterosexual orientation identity in order for counselors to more fully understand the issues these LGB clients might present with. To begin addressing this need this dissertation was undertaken with the purpose of examining the experiences of women in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who currently have or have had same-sex attractions. A phenomenological methodology was used in order to collect and analyze the data from two semi-structured interviews with 10 Caucasian women who: were born into and raised in the LDS religion; had resided in either Utah or Idaho during their formative years; and, had indicated that they had experienced a same-sex attraction. Results indicated that the women in this study struggled with: figuring out and identifying themselves as a non-heterosexual person, the LDS religion and religious culture, and coming out to others in their lives. In-depth descriptions are provided highlighting the commonalities and ways in which the women in this study experienced difficulty and conflict during their experience of having a same-sex attraction within the LDS religious culture. The results of this study have compelling implications for counselors working with this population as well as counselor educators in charge of the training and education of counseling students.

Denna uppsats berör kvinnornas synlighet i läromedel inom ramen för den akademiska kursen Historien om Abrahams Gud där islam, judendom och kristendom berördes. Vi antar ett genusteoretiskt perspektiv för att belysa kvinnors synlighet och närvaro. Anledningen till att vi vill studera kvinnor är för att vi själva genom vår skolgång upplevt en frånvaro av kvinnor inom olika skolämnen, och därigenom en svårighet att identifiera oss med kvinnorna. Idag kan vi se att en möjlig anledning till detta var att kvinnor lämnades utanför klassrummet till förmån för ett manligt perspektiv på undervisningen. Stort fokus låg också på männens olika uppfinningar, upptäckter och historiska betydelser, men kvinnorna benämndes i mycket liten grad om kvinnor ens belystes. Läromedel för respektive religion analyseras genom en text- och diskursanalys, för att få ett tydligt resultat kring vad vi ser i litteraturen. I resultatkapitlet presenteras religion för religion så att läsaren hela tiden förstår vilken religion som han eller hon läser om. Vårt syfte med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur kvinnor inom de Abrahamitiska religionerna porträtteras och beskrivs i tre läroböcker som använts inom religionsvetenskap 0-30 högskolepoäng inom ämneslärarprogrammet på Högskolan i Gävle höstterminen 2012. I studien antar vi ett genusperspektiv och undersöker var kvinnan blir synlig och synliggörs i läromedlen.   Vad vårt resultat visar på är att kvinnan ofta porträtteras vid egenskaper som exempelvis moderlig, omvårdande och mjuk. Hon beskrivs för det mesta i hemmets miljö, då hon ofta har ett stort ansvar för hus och barnuppfostran. Kvinnorollen beskrivs utifrån en instängd hemmiljö, det vill säga i det icke-offentliga. Resultatet visar dessutom på att författarna skriver fram kvinnan på olika sätt, detta blir synligt genom författarnas olika sätt att göra kvinnan aktiv i texten. This master’s thesis is a comparative propaganda analysis that studies the use of history with a religion dimension, similarities and framing of propaganda messages in the Islamic States propaganda magazine Dabiq and Brenton Tarrant’s manifesto The Great Replacement. The propaganda has been analysed with Jowett and O’Donnell’s propaganda model, combined with Jan Assmann’s theories about cultural memory, historia sacra and cultural semantics. The results show that both actors use history with a religious dimension to frame their messages, but that Tarrant uses more cultural aspects than religious. Both actors also project similar messages such as referring to supranational communities, the sacred history of ancestors, ancient enemies, new foundational history and a call for organisation by their target audience.

This essay intends to examine the atheists Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens and Michel Onfray's arguments against religion, based on the themes of religion, atheism and the perception.of their present worldview. In addition, the research aims to find out whether it is suitable to talk about a new atheism. And, if so, whether such newatheism correspond with the definition represented by the Christian critics. The essay intends to contribute to a very limited research on the so-called new atheism without applying pro-religious arguments. Previous research and theory highlight the problem of defining the terms atheism, religion and secularism a concern that is reflected by the five critics troughout their arguments. What really united the critics were the idea about religion taking too much place in society, and the opinion that atheistic morality is at least as good as religious morality. In addition, the authors agree that religion is not needed to maintain good morale, on the contrary, religion affect the morale negatively. They also assumed that religion restricts people and and that moderate religion more or less leads to, or is responsible for, fundamentalism. Also, the value of truth and contempt against relativism brought the authors together, although they were sometimes justified by very different arguments. Crucially, however, are the differences in their definitions of religion, both concerning their focus on substantive and functional definitions, the relationship between absolute, relative-, and private religion and their political focus. To regard these authors' arguments as a new atheism is thus hard to justify. The results conclude that both the Christian critics and the five critics of religion generalize their opponents view of atheism or religion, and also fail to define themselves in order to be able to unite as a group against the other.

Religious education in Swedish schools aims to be as objective and non-confessional as possible. This sort of education can lead to that the different religions are presented in a way which is unfamiliar to the followers of the different religions. This problem is what I have focused on in this essay since I myself was a victim of a similar situation. As a syriac-orthodox youth I felt that my Christianity was not the same as the one presented in school. I felt that it had nothing in common with what I learned in my church, therefore I asked myself the question: Whose Christianity is being represented? Therefore I have focused on the syriac-orthodox church in this research. The purpose of my essay was to enlighten the differences between religious education in syriac-orthodox churches and Swedish community schools. I choose In addition to that I also wanted to enlighten how religious syriac-orthodox youths are affected by the difference in the religious education in both the churches and schools. To gain the necessary information for the research I used qualitative studies in form of semi-structured interviews and observations. My informants were made up by five girls and three boys, all of them being eighteen years old and living in areas close to Stockholm. The conclusion of my research was that there are several differences between the religious education within churches and schools. One of the differences is the approach towards religion, and the churches have a more positive and personal approach towards religion while the schools have a more negative and distant approach towards religion. Another one is that the churches seem to have more knowledge about Christianity than the schools and therefore the churches can provide a more in depth study of different topics regarding Christianity than the schools. Regarding how the students were affected by the differences the result was that the aspect of knowledge had made the religious youths to lose their trust in the education given to them by the school. This was an effect of how they experienced that the teachers taught the pupils wrong facts about Christianity and therefore they felt that they could no longer trust the teachers in school, because if they taught wrong thing about Christianity they could also teach wrong things about the other religions as well.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att genom patientjournaler undersöka hur mentalpatienter har behandlats vid Lunds hospital under åren 1879,1896 samt 1916. Det som undersökts är vilka personer som intogs för vård, vilka intagningsskälen var, vilken diagnos som tilldelades de intagna samt vilken behandling de sinnessjuka fick. Källmaterialet har bestått av patientjournaler från avgångna patienter och detta material finns på Arkivcentrum Syd i Lund. Metoden som jag använt mig av har gått ut på att gå igenom journalerna och undersöka vilka diagnoser som tilldelades de sjuka, hur långa vistelsetiderna var, kvinnornas ålder och civilstånd, vilka intagningsorsakerna var samt vilka behandlingar och mediciner som ordinerades. Resultaten av undersökningen räknades sedan ihop och sammanställdes i tabeller vilka ligger som bilagor i arbetet. Jag har dessutom valt att exemplifiera mina resultat genom att referera eller direkt citera ur patientjournalerna. Resultaten av undersökningen visade att det främst var kvinnor ur under- och medelklassen som avgick från hospitalet under de undersökta åren. Anledningen till deras intagning vid hospitalet var att de inte kunde klara sig själva och var svåra att sköta i hemmet då de bl.a. kunde vara våldsamma, självmordsbenägna och allmänt oroliga. Bland de utdelade diagnoserna förekom bl.a. Melancholia, Mania, och Dementia. Behandlingen de intagna fick bestod av lugnande medel, tvångsmedel samt mediciner och behandlingar av andra kroppsliga åkommor.

Abstract:
I denna uppsats undersöker jag vilka eskatologiska förväntningar som finns i Thessaloniki och Korinth församlingarna. Detta görs genom en argumentationsanalys av Paulus eskatologiska argumentationer utifrån ett uppståndelseperspektiv i 1 Thess 4:13-18, 1 Kor 15:20-28 och 1 Kor 15:45-49. För att också komma närmre argumentationen har jag kollat på strukturuppdelningen för att se vilka poänger som Paulus belyser. Slutligen har jag även kollat på översättningsproblematik för att komma närmre kontexten.
