Abstract:
Coal of varying age (Upper Carboniferous to Pliocene) and coalification rank (lignite to anthracite) from nineteen coal-bearing basins and deposits, belonging to 8 coal-bearing provinces from Bulgaria, were examined for the occurrence and distribution of Fe. For the majority of the coals, the average Fe concentrations vary from 1.1 to 10.2 wt% and are higher than the World’s average. An exception exists only for Karlovo and Dobrudzha Basins, where slight depletion of Fe (<1 wt%) was established. On contrary, carbonaceous shales from the majority of the basins show Fe depletion in comparison to the Clarke values for clays. Based on the negative correlations with the ash yields, organic affinity of the element can be suggested for most of the studied coals. An exception exists for the Burgas Basin, for which predominantly inorganic affinity of the element can be suggested, whereas for Stanyantsi, Samokov, Bobov Dol, Dobrudzha and Svoge Basins mixed organic/inorganic affinity of Fe can be presumed. The element most probably predominantly occurs in the form of organometallic compounds, especially in the coals that formed in preferentially acidic peat-forming environment. Nevertheless, small contribution from biogenic iron cannot be excluded. The mineral form of Fe is probably mainly associated with sulfides, carbonates, and sulfates, although the presence of Fe oxides, silicates and hydroxides is also established. The analysis of Fe occurrence and its organic/inorganic affinity in Bulgarian coals reveal the following controlling factors: i) Fe concentration within the basin’s provenance; ii) the type (i.e. terrigenous or groundwater) of element supply; and iii) environmental conditions during peat-formation.

Abstract:
The purpose – The purpose of the study is to conduct a regional survey in tourist companies in Southwestern Bulgaria for examining some key factors for building/forming a healthy nutrition environment. Design – The special focus is given to analysis of the key factors for creating healthy nutrition environment in restaurants. Methodology – A cross sectional survey conducted including 34 respondents from 120 operating hotels with restaurants in Southwestern Bulgaria and 30 independent restaurants in Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil and Samokov – the three main towns in the area. The level of knowledge on healthy nutrition and healthy foods was assessed using a 5-rank scale and the healthy practices was conducted in the aspects: availability of healthy options, point-of-purchase information to facilitate healthy choices and promotion and communication of healthy foods. Approach- Implementation of healthy eating practice is studied in restaurants as the restaurant is one of the most important public places that form a healthy nutrition environment and create conditions for implementation of initiatives to support healthy food choices. Findings – It is indicated that the management staff of the surveyed tourist companies shows good level of knowledge and awareness on healthy nutrition issues. Despite good theoretical knowledge, however, the implementation of healthy practices in the restaurant business is insufficiently developed. There is no clear concept for introduction of healthy eating practice in restaurants and there is no active communication with the client in this regard either. The main conclusion focuses on the need of collaboration between nutrition specialists, academic institutions in tourism, and restaurant and hotel entrepreneurs to implement the principles of healthy eating in out-of-home settings. The originality of this research – The originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in Bulgaria the preconditions for the formation of a healthy environment in restaurants are explored.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This chapter highlights Marshal Tito's departure from Prague to Ljubljana and Zagreb to start working on another task he was entrusted with in Moscow, which added a political dimension to his agent-related activities. It elaborates how Tito organized two founding congresses of autonomous parties instead of the usual all-Yugoslav “land conferences.” It also talks about editor-in-chief of Proleter Živojin Pavlović's publication of The Balance Sheet of the Soviet Thermidor, which is an informed account of the purges in the Soviet Union. The chapter examines Tito's founding of the Communist Party of Croatia in Samobor, which completed the reorganization of the party in Yugoslavia. It mentions Ivo Lola Ribar and Aleksandar Ranković, who oversaw the numerous communist sympathizers among the Belgrade student population.
