En este artículo vamos a abordar las similitudes entre dos obras de distintos autores del siglo XX: por un lado, San Manuel Bueno, mártir, del bilbaíno Miguel de Unamuno (1864-1936) y, por otro, La aldea de Romàns, del italiano Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-1975). Analizamos el diálogo intertextual y la influencia literaria. Consideramos para ello dos novelas, la del escritor ruso Leonid Andréyev, Vida y muerte del reverendo Vasili Fiveiski (1903) también traducida como Vida de Vasili Fiveiski, y la de Miguel de Unamuno San Manuel Bueno, mártir (1931). Ambas narraciones tiernen como protagonista a un clérigo y se entienden como actitudes ante la vida y la muerte. Son, además, ejemplo no solo de analogías tipológicas literarias, sino también de un diálogo intertextual. Sondeamos la influencia, aproximaciones, divergencias y logros literarios.
