In questo articolo una psicologa, che cominciň a lavorare nel 1975 nell'Ospedale psichiatrico di Firenze, popolarmente detto Manicomio di San Salvi, racconta in modo empatico la sua particolare esperienza, nell'ambito della cultura italiana degli anni Settanta. Un'esperienza breve, difficile ma stimolante, il suo primo contatto con gravi pazienti psichiatrici che vissero per moltissimi anni, e talvolta l'intera vita, dentro un manicomio. Nel 1978 la leggere numero 180, la cosiddetta "Legge Basaglia", stabilě che gli ospedali psichiatrici sarebbero stati chiusi. Nessun paziente fu piů ammesso; nell'ospedale restarono solo coloro per cui non fu possibile trovare un'altra sistemazione. Lavorare con loro da un punto di vista psicologico era veramente un'impresa disperata! Attualmente, i locali dell'Ospedale di San Salvi accolgono la Facoltŕ di Psicologia dell'Universitŕ di Firenze.

Poiche recentemente il Papa Benedetto XVI ci ha voluto ricordare la grandę attualita della speranza con la sua lettera enciclica Spe salvi, rievocando anche la testimonianza dei cristiani e pastori dei tempi antichi, mi e venuta l’idea di esaminare sotto l’aspetto del termine della speranza le Lettere di S. Ambrogio di Milano. Nella ricerca e apparsa la ricchezza del suo insegnamento a questo riguardo. II primo e piu frequente senso del termine „speranza” e proprio quello profondamente cristiano ed escatologico. Specialmente nei commenti alle Lettere di San Paolo il nostro Autore dimostra una vicinanza del pensiero eon quello da cui inizia il Papa la sua enciclica: „Nella speranza siamo stati salvati”. Nelle riflessioni sulla speranza S. Ambrogio, sull'esempio dell'Apostolo Paolo, mette in stretto collegamento eon essa le altre virtu, specialmente la fede e la carita. Contemporaneamente awerte che la contrastano i vizi, i quali deviano i nostri desideri dal Signore e dal suo premio eterno verso i beni materiali e temporali. Un ampio spazio nell'insegnamento sulla speranza del nostro Vescovo occupa la relazione tra questa e le sofferenze e persecuzioni, subite dai giusti per la causa del Signore e della fede. Egli richiama qui l’esempio di tanti profeti e giusti biblici come anche i fedeli Pastori della Chiesa, esortando i suoi fedeli ad imitarli. Non per ultimo offre anche il proprio esempio, quando nei momenti drammatici del suo episcopato non esita di manifestare la sua prontezza al martirio per non cedere alle ingiuste pretese degli ariani o degli imperatori, i quali minacciavano il bene spirituale del gregge a lui affidato. La visione della speranza di S. Ambrogio e molto cristocentrica, come del resto tutta la sua teologia. Infatti, proprio Cristo e la sorgente e garanzia della nostra vera speranza. In questo contesto si pone un’espressione che si puó dire il frutto maturo delPinsegnamento del nostro Dottore sulla speranza: II fine della nostra speranza e il suo amore (Epistoła 16, 3).

In this study, the antiviral activities of seven different extracts of Salvia miltiorrhiza (danshen) were determined. The first two extracts, SA1 and SA2, isolated at room temperature by ethyl acetate and water extraction, respectively, neutralized the enterovirus 71-induced cytopathic effect in Vero, rhabdomyosarcoma and MRC-5 cells. The other five crude extracts, extracted with warm water (60–70°C) or organic solvents, did not have any protective activity. The 50% inhibitory concentrations for neutralizing the enterovirus 71-induced cytopathic effect were 0.742 ± 0.042 mg/ml for SA1 and 0.585 ± 0.018 mg/ml for SA2 in Vero cells. No antiviral activity was observed in the other viruses tested. Antiviral activity was more efficient in cultures treated with SA1 or SA2 during viral infection compared to the cultures treated before or after infection, suggesting that these danshen extracts could interfere with viral entry. SA1 and SA2 were able to inhibit viral RNA synthesis in the infected cells and to abate the apoptotic process in enterovirus 71-infected Vero cells. We conclude that danshen extracts possess antiviral activity and have potential for the development as an anti-enterovirus 71 agent.

Abstract Background: Cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors in combination with anti-hormone therapy are highly effective treatments for oestrogen receptor positive (ER+) and HER2 negative (HER2-) advanced breast cancer. Pre-clinical and clinical studies have reported mechanisms of resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors to include interferon signalling, high CCNE1 expression and loss of RB1 expression. The PALLET phase II randomized neoadjuvant trial of letrozole (LET) ± palbociclib (PALBO) in postmenopausal ER+HER2- primary breast cancer showed that suppression of proliferation as measured by Ki67 was significantly greater with addition of PALBO to LET but did not result in all patients achieving complete cell-cycle arrest, indicating intrinsic resistance in some patients. We report phenotypes/genotypes associated with that resistance. Methods: In the PALLET trial, 307 patients were randomized to LET+PALBO (n=204) or LET (n=103) for 14wks. For the first 2wks of LET+PALBO patients were randomised to LET, PALBO or LET+PALBO. RNA-seq of baseline samples from consented patients was performed on fresh frozen biopsies for 224 patients (LET-only n=77; LET+PALBO n=147); whole exome sequencing was performed on 188 tumors and matched blood samples (LET-only n=61; LET+PALBO n=127). After 14wks of treatment, those patients with Ki67% < 2.7% were classified as having complete cell-cycle arrest (CCCA). Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between patients sensitive (CCCA) and resistant (non-CCCA) to treatments with or without PALBO at 14wks by DESeq2. Mutect2 and VarScan was used to identify somatic mutations and CNVkit was used to identify copy number alterations in whole exome sequencing (WES). Results: In LET+PALBO treated patients, higher expression of E2F targets, interferon gamma response and mTORC1 signalling genes were observed in baseline gene expression of non-CCCA patients at 14wks (FDR<0.05, GSEA). Similar results were also observed if using 2wk Ki67 data. In LET-only non-CCCA patients, higher expression of mTORC1 signalling and lower expression of oestrogen response genes (FDR<0.05, GSEA) were observed. Additional analysis of baseline gene expression for non-CCCA at 14wks LET+PALBO patients showed higher expression of immune checkpoint inhibition associated genes including IFNG, IDO1, PD-L1 (FDR<0.05, DESeq2), higher expression of genes expressed only in immune cells and two gene signatures related to interferon signalling and immune checkpoint blockade (FDR<0.05, GSEA). Somatic mutation analysis showed a trend for enrichment of mutations in TP53 for both LET-only and LET+PALBO non-CCCA patients (p=0.02 and p=0.06, respectively, Fisher-exact) and significant enrichment of MAP3K1 mutations in LET-only CCCA patients (p<0.05, Fisher-exact). TP53 mutations were also associated with higher proliferation, mTORC1 and immune related signatures (all p<0.01, Mann-Whitney). Change at 14wks Ki67 was significantly different (p=0.02, Mann-Whitney) between TP53wt and TP53MUT for LET-only patients (median WT = -92%, MUT = -66%, p=0.02, Mann-Whitney ) but not for LET+PALBO (median WT = -99% MUT = -95%, p=0.13, Mann-Whitney). No copy number alterations were significantly enriched in LET+PALBO non-CCCA patients. Conclusion: We observe, confirming previous studies, an association of CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance, high expression of CCNE1 and genes related to interferon gamma signalling. We show that there is an overlap between resistance mechanisms and TP53 mutations. However, ER+HER2- patients with TP53 mutations may still benefit from PALBO adding to suppression of proliferation compared to LET-only treatment. Allí se encuentra un amplio documento fechado en 1752-1754 que recoge la lucha entre dos grupos de plateros por el control de la citada organización; el primero de ellos lo lideraba el maestro mayor José Murillo y el segundo, José Albán y Palís. El legajo se halla en buen estado de conservación, salvo el primer folio. Nos permite descubrir gran cantidad de aspectos sobre esta cofradía quiteña de la que ha desaparecido toda la documentación anterior.</span>

Salvia huastecana is described and illustrated as a new species. It is known from the municipality of Xilitla, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. This taxon belongs to Salvia sect. Angulatae, is similar to S. albiflora and S. roscida but it can be distinguished by a higher number of flowers per verticillaster (9−12), longer caducous bracts with long caudate apex, hirsute calyx with erect trichomes and white corolla, sometimes with the upper lip and margins of the lateral lobes of the lower lip light blue stained. Photographs of living plants and the illustration of the new species are provided.

Salvianolic acid A (Sal A), a caffeic acid derivative present in Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen), has shown significant biological activities, some of which are more potent than those of salvianolic acid (Sal B), the most abundant and bioactive compound in Danshen. However, its low content in the raw material makes it difficult to be used in the clinic. In this study, a novel procedure was developed to isolate Sal A from Salvia miltiorrhiza. Using this procedure, Sal A could be enriched to 1.7% in the raw material by hydrolyzing Sal B. The solution was further purified by macroporous resin and ODS column chromatography. The yield of Sal A was 0.5% with a purity of 98.0%. The procedure is efficient and convenient and is considered suitable for the separation of Sal A from Danshen.

Variations in the protein, lipid and fatty acid content of the commercial chia seed (Salvia hispánica L.) produced in Ecuador
Resumen
El objetivo fue determinar las variaciones en los contenidos de proteína, lípidos y composición de ácidos grasos de las semillas de chía producidas comercialmente en seis sitios de los ecosistemas de los Valles Interandinos (Altos y Bajos), Selva Lluviosa Pluviestacional y Bosque Seco Tropical, del Ecuador. El contenido de proteína fue más alto (p<0,05) en las semillas de Bosque de Oro (24,78%) y El Azúcar (24,35%) que las de los otros cuatro sitios, y sin diferencias significativas (P<0,05) entre ellos. Las semillas de Bosque de Oro (34,90%) y San Pablo presentaron el más alto contenido de lípidos, aunque sin diferencias significativas (p<0,05) con las de Salinas (32,65%) y Patate (31.97%). Las semillas originadas en Salinas presentaron el mayor (p<0,05) contenido de α-linolénico (66,75%), seguido por las de Patate (63,93%), Guayllabamba (63,57%), Bosque de Oro (63,53%) y San Pablo (62,70%). El ácido graso α-linolénico presentó una alta relación negativa con los ácidos grasos palmítico (R2 = 0,797; p<0,001), linoleico (R2 = 0,862; p<0,001), y oleico (R2 = 0,767; p<0,001).

Abstract
The objective was to determine the variations in the protein content, lipids and fatty acids composition of the chia seeds commercially produced in six locations of the Inter-Andean Valley (Low and high), Rainforest and Tropical Dry Forest ecosystems of Ecuador. The protein content was higher (p< 0.05) in the seeds from Bosque de Oro (24.78%) and El Azúcar (24.35%) than those originated in the other four locations and without significant differences (p < 0.05) between them. The seeds of Bosque de Oro (34.90%) and San Pablo had the highest lipid content, although without significant differences (p<0.05) with those of Salinas (32.65%) and Patate (31.97%). The seeds originated in Salinas had the highest (p<0.05) content of α-linolenic (66.75%), followed by those of Patate (63.93%), Guayllabamba (63.57%), Bosque de Oro (63.53%) and San Pablo (62.70%). The α-linolenic fatty acid showed a high negative relationship with palmitic fatty acids (R2 = 0.797; p<0,001), linoleic (R2 = 0.862; p<0.001), and oleic (R2 = 0.767; p<0.001).

Esta dissertação versa sobre a obra poética da poeta colombiana Marta Quiñónez, que atualmente vive em Medelin, publicada até o momento, que consiste nos seguintes volumes: Noctívago (1998), Acantilado (1999), Abecedário de Eximición (2000), Eva (2001), Kartalá (2002), La Trinidad (2005), Arcanos (2007), No. Libro de haripalas (2010), Dame tu canto ciudad (2012), Conversaciones en Comala (2012), Paréntesis (2013), El rostro del pan (2014) e Continente Mohíno (2016), publicado originalmente em 1996. O trabalho se concentra em quatro eixos principais, a saber: diáspora, migração, território e o lar, em diálogo com os temas do amor, da afetividade, da territorialização/desterritorialização nos centros urbanos, e da casa, perpassando as discussões de gênero e raciais na divisão dos espaços geográficos e sociais. Discutimos como este corpo e subjetividade feminina negra homossexual se reconfigura para a construção subjetiva de seu lar, considerando-se a experiência da desterritorialização e da migração, e o poema como a força reterritorializadora que alça as noções de pertencimento e conexão à sua própria criação poética como principal catalizadora de suas vivências. Percorremos toda sua obra em certa cronologia temática, iniciada com Continente Mohíno (1996) até El rostro del pan (2014), cujo principal objetivo é compreender a relação estabelecida entre sua escrita poética e o imaginário da diáspora contemporânea e fluxos migratórios, no que diz respeito aos territórios e a construção subjetiva do lar. A versatilidade e criatividade de sua poesia é flagrante por seu próprio curso de vida de movimento e desarraigo, que confluem para uma literatura capaz de abrigar suas vivências para além dos reducionismos históricos e sociais do lugar da mulher negra homossexual na literatura e na sociedade.
This dissertation approaches the poetic work of Colombian poet Marta Quiñónez, who currently lives in Medelin, which has been published to date, consisting of the following volumes: Noctívago (1998), Acantilado (1999), Abecedário de Eximición (2000), Eva (2001), Kartalá (2002), La Trinidad (2005), Arcanos (2007), No. Libro de haripalas (2010), Dame tu canto ciudad (2012), Conversaciones en Comala (2012), Paréntesis (2013), El rostro del pan (2014) and Continente Mohíno (2016), originally published in 1996. The work focuses on four main axes: diaspora, migration, territory and home, in dialogue with the themes of love, affectivity, territorialization/deterritorialization in urban centers, and the house, bypassing gender and racial discussions in the division of geographic and social spaces. We discuss how this homosexual black female body and subjectivity reconfigures itself for the subjective construction of its home, considering the experience of deterritorialization and migration, taking the poem as the reterritorializing force that elevates the notions of belonging and connection to its own poetic creation as main catalyst of her experiences. We go through all her work in a certain thematic chronology, beginning with Continente Mohíno (1996) until El rostro del pan (2014), whose main objective is to understand the relation established between her poetic writing and the contemporary diaspora imaginary and migratory flows, concerning territories and the subjective construction of home. The versatility and creativity of her poetry is blatant for her own life course of movement and uprooting, which converge to a literature capable of sheltering her experiences beyond the historical and social reductions of the homosexual black woman's place in literature and society.

La desnutrición puede ser combatida con el fomento del consumo de alimentos regionales y la semilla de chía es una buena propuesta debido a su composición química que la convierte en una fuente proteica de buena calidad. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar los efectos biológicos en ratones cepa CD1 y propiedades químicas de la semilla de chía cruda, tostada y horneada de San Mateo Coatepec, Puebla. Se determinó la composición bromatológica de las semillas de chía y después se evaluó la calidad proteica utilizando los métodos de PDCAAS con digestibilidades proteicas in vitro y PER de ratones que consumieron chía cruda, tostada y horneada. Finalmente se evaluó el perfil neurofarmacológico de ratones alimentados con las dietas experimentales tomando como referencia a los alimentados con Harlan 2018S. Las semillas con mayor contenido proteico fueron las tostadas debido a la mayor pérdida de humedad. La aplicación de calor disminuyó el contenido del aminoácido lisina; por 100 g de proteína la semilla de chía cruda contiene 4.23 g de lisina, la semilla de chía tostada 3.65 g y la horneada 3.55 g. En contraste, la digestibilidad in vitro se vio favorecida en un 1.8% con el proceso de horneado y 3.2% con el proceso de tostado. Los resultados de PDCAAS fueron de 0.6 para la semilla cruda, 0.54 para la tostada y 0.51 para la horneada. El PER obtenido para los tres grupos fueron semejantes. Los resultados del perfil neurofarmacológico de los grupos alimentados con las semillas de chía cruda y los diferentes tratamientos reflejaron un aumento de los parámetros de actividad locomotora, fuerza muscular y permanencia/desplazamiento en la cuerda tirante respecto al grupo control alimentado con Harlan 2018S. Se concluye que la aplicación de los tratamientos térmicos en semillas de chía no afecta la calidad proteica y como única fuente de proteínas la semilla de chía sería adecuada para adultos y se puede complementar fácilmente con una leguminosa para cualquier grupo de edad.

Esta dissertação discute o modo como a cidade de São Paulo, marcada pelos ataques do Primeiro Comando da Capital de maio de 2006, é construída em Salve Geral (Sérgio Rezende, 2009), Inversão (Edu Felistoque, 2010) e Os Inquilinos (Sergio Bianchi, 2009). Distantes dos paradigmáticos títulos cariocas que têm abordado violência e crime nas últimas décadas e em consonância com a polifórmica São Paulo do cinema, Salve Geral, Inversão e Inquilinos constroem diferentes cidades na tela. Em suas distintas opções formais e narrativas, encontramos entre os três títulos possiblidades que escapam de um apelo sensacional do evento. De modo instigante, os três filmes inserem a cobertura dos meios de comunicação em suas diegeses, colocando em pauta as interlocuções midiáticas em torno da violência, reforçando a importância das diferentes narrativas na construção do fenômeno e sugerindo uma postura reflexiva sobre a implicação dos filmes nesse conjunto de narrativas.This dissertation inquiries the ways in which the city of Sao Paulo, marked by the attacks carried out by the criminal organization PCC (First Command of the Capital) in May 2006, is shown on three recent movies: Time of Fear (Salve Geral, Sérgio Resende, 2009),The Tenants - Don\'t Like It, Leave (Os Inquilinos, Sérgio Bianchi, 2009) and Inversão (Edu Felistoque, 2010). All three movies strengthen the multiple filmic representations of Sao Paulo, and not only differ from each other, but also when compared to recent movies that deal with urban violence, specially box-office hits shot in Rio de Janeiro like City of God (Cidade de Deus, Fernando Meirelles, 2002) and Elite Squad (Tropa de Elite, José Padilha, 2007). Through its multiple narrative and formal choices, we see among the three movies possibilities that escape a sensationalistic appeal of the event. In an interesting way the three movies not only include the attacks but also the mediatic reverberations, pointing the implication of the many narratives in the building of the phenomenon of violence and encouraging a reflective thought about is own construction

Memoria para optar al título profesional de Ingeniera AgrónomaSalvia hispanica L., comúnmente llamada chía, es una especie cultivada por sus granos, caracterizados por su elevado contenido de ácidos grasos esenciales, omega-3, lo que ha incentivado un aumento importante en la superficie de siembra a nivel mundial; sin embargo, en Chile no existe producción comercial. La chía es una especie sensible al fotoperíodo, es de día corto y requiere de un período de luz inferior a 12-13 horas para florecer. No tolera heladas en ningún estado de desarrollo, y su producción de materia seca y rendimiento en grano se ven afectados por la fecha de siembra. La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar la fecha de siembra óptima para chía en la localidad de Las Cruces, V Región de Chile, para lo cual se evaluó el crecimiento, desarrollo, rendimiento en grano e índice de cosecha del cultivo. Para esto se estableció un ensayo en campo que contempló un diseño completamente al azar con cinco tratamientos y seis repeticiones. Los tratamientos correspondieron a cinco fechas de siembra entre los meses de enero y marzo. El atraso en la fecha de siembra acortó el ciclo de desarrollo del cultivo y redujo el crecimiento de las plantas. Este hecho estaría asociado principalmente a las diferentes condiciones climáticas a las que los tratamientos estuvieron expuestos, entre ellas, fotoperíodo y temperatura, donde la duración del día produjo una inducción floral más temprana al atrasar la fecha de siembra, floreciendo casi en igual momento pero con diferencias en crecimiento. Tanto el rendimiento en grano como el índice de cosecha se vieron fuertemente afectados producto de las bajas temperaturas a las que estuvieron expuestas las plantas a partir de la etapa reproductiva, las cuales se encuentran dentro de la tendencia esperada para la zona; por lo que se sugiere que Las Cruces no es una localidad apropiada para el cultivo de esta especie.
Salvia hispanica L., commonly known as chia, is a species cultivated for its grains characterized by their high content of omega-3 fatty acids. The objective of this research was to determine the optimum sowing date for chia in the locality of Las Cruces, V Region of Chile, for which the growth, development, grain yield and harvest index of the crop were evaluated. For this, a field trial with five treatments which consisted of five sowing dates between January and March was established. The delayed sowing date shortened the development cycle of the crop and reduced plant growth. This fact would be associated mainly to the different weather conditions to which the treatments were exposed, such as photoperiod and temperature, where day length produced an earlier floral induction by delaying the sowing date, blooming almost at the same time but with differences in growth. Grain yield and harvest index were strongly affected by low temperatures at which plants were exposed from the reproductive stage, which are within the expected trend for the zone; therefore, it is suggested that Las Cruces is not a suitable locality for growing this species.

Memoria para optar al Título Profesional de: Ingeniero AgrónomoLa chía (Salvia hispanica L.) es una especie de origen tropical que, por sus atributos en términos de salud, ha aumentado sostenidamente su siembra a nivel mundial. En Chile se ha estado evaluando su introducción, pero no se cuenta con información respecto a la fecha óptima de siembra. Por ello, se realizó un ensayo con una variedad de chía blanca, sembrada cada 15 días en cinco fechas que abarcaron desde el 4 de enero hasta el 4 de marzo de 2013, en la localidad de Las Cruces, Región de Valparaíso. Se evaluaron parámetros de crecimiento (altura de plantas, longitud de inflorescencia principal, área foliar, índice de área foliar, materia seca aérea y número de nudos del tallo principal), desarrollo (días desde siembra a la ocurrencia de los distintos estados fenológicos) y el rendimiento en grano, con el fin de determinar la fecha de siembra óptima para la zona. Con el atraso de la fecha de siembra, hubo una mayor precocidad en la ocurrencia de los estados de inicio de ramificación, emisión de inflorescencia y floración, y las plantas tendieron a disminuir su altura y redujeron el número de nudos vegetativos en el tallo principal. El rendimiento en grano comercial de las plantas correspondientes a las tres fechas de siembra más temprana fue de 118,3 kgha-1, no habiendo diferencias entre ellas, mientras que las dos siembras más tardías no tuvieron producción en grano comercial. Esto se atribuye al daño por las bajas temperaturas mínimas de la zona durante la etapa reproductiva, y a la tendedura de las plantas por efecto de las precipitaciones durante esta etapa, lo que impidió determinar los estados de madurez fisiológica y de cosecha. Debido a las bajas temperaturas mínimas durante la etapa reproductiva del cultivo, que provocaron pérdidas importantes en el rendimiento en grano, la localidad de las Cruces no es una zona apta para la siembra de chía.
A variety of white chia (Salvia hispanica L.) was established in the locality of Las Cruces, San Antonio Province, to determine its optimum sowing date. Five sowing dates from January 4 to March 4, 2013 were used. Delayed sowings resulted in a greater precocity of branching initiation, inflorescence emergence and flowering. In addition, plants tended to decrease in height and reduced the number of main stem nodes. Yield of commercial seed was 118.3 kgha-1 with no significant differences in the sowing dates evaluated, although the two latest sowings did not have commercial grain production. This was attributed to the damage caused to the crop by the low minimum temperatures in the zone and by plant lodging due to precipitations during the reproductive period. Therefore, because of the low minimum temperatures occurring during the reproductive stage of this crop that resulted in significant grain yield losses, Las Cruces locality is not a suitable zone for chia culture.

O insuficiente renal crónico em programa de diálise, convive diariamente com o facto de ser portador de uma doença crónica, que o obriga a um tratamento doloroso, de longa duração que provoca, juntamente com a evolução da doença, alterações de grande impacto, tanto na sua vida como na dos seus familiares, é cada vez mais importante a criação de ambientes que sejam potenciadores de bem estar, pois esses, são os verdadeiros ambientes seguros. A higienização das mãos é identificada mundialmente como uma medida básica, mas fundamental, no controle de infeções associadas aos cuidados de saúde, logo é considerada como um dos pilares da prevenção e do controle de infeções nos serviços de saúde. É indispensável insistir nesta prática nos locais onde se prestam cuidados com o intuito de aumentar a adesão à higienização das mãos. Com o impulso dado pelo programa da OMS, “Salve Vidas: Higienize as Mãos”, e a realização de momentos de observação, monitorizamos os momentos de adesão a boas práticas em resultado do observado, aumentamos os momentos de formação, pois a prática da enfermagem exige ao longo do seu percurso um processo contínuo de aprendizagem e atualização para que os cuidados sejam de excelência, cabendo ao Enfermeiro Especialista e Mestre em Enfermagem Medico-Cirurgica, a responsabilidade de conceber estratégias que visem reduzir as infeções que podem ocorrer na prestação de cuidados.
A nurse plays a key role in preventing infections associated with healthcare because spends long time with the patient, but also can potentially become a vehicle for transmitting infections. The patient with chronic renal impairment undergoing dialysis lives with the daily fact of being a carrier of a chronic disease which requires a long term painful treatment. This along with the disease progression, changes both his and his own family life, so is fundamental to create a safe environment which improves the welfare of the patient. Hand´s hygiene is identified worldwide as a basic measure, but fundamental to control infections, so it is regarded as one of the basic pillars of prevention and infection control in health care environment. It is fundamental to reinforce the importance of hand’s hygiene in places where health care services are performed in order to increase adherence to this practices. With the impetus given by the WHO´s program, “Save Lives: hand hygiene”, we researched different practices with the objective of increasing the adherence to best hand hygiene practices. We also increased training of nurses with the same objective. It is the duty of the Nurse Specialist and Master in Medical-Surgical Nursing of patient in critical stage to set guidelines in order to reduce situations that can spread infections.

This chapter chronicles the philosophical development of the abrasive, brilliant Elizabeth Anscombe and her contribution to her friends’ implicit project of reshaping mid-century ethics: her all-out attack against “Oxford Moral Philosophy” epitomized by R.M. Hare, and her publication of the influential “Modern Moral Philosophy.” Anscombe was Wittgenstein’s apprentice and translator for much of her early career, rarely publishing original work. She was, nonetheless, a fearsome adversary of anyone she saw as glib or insufficiently serious, including C.S. Lewis and J.L. Austin. Anscombe’s real engagement with ethics began with her attempt to stop Oxford from bestowing an honorary degree on Harry Truman; she abhorred his decision to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki. She was invited to give a radio broadcast, “Oxford Moral Philosophy: Does It Corrupt the Youth?”—the opening salvo in a fight with R.M. Hare, which resulted in her influential essay “Modern Moral Philosophy.”

Su cuenta de Twitter @MicrobiomDigest, tiene más de 100 mil seguidores y en ella ha tomado mucha fuerza su hashtag #ImageForensics. En nuestro medio, poco se habla de la manipulación de las imágenes como una mala práctica en la ciencia, pero como nos lo muestra la doctora Elisabeth Bik, es muy fácil de identificar y hasta un deber para con la ciencia estar atentos a estos fraudes. Ella ha agudizado su visión para detectar rápidamente imágenes fraudulentas sin la ayuda de ningún software especializado, salvo en algunos pocos casos en los que debe confirmar las sospechas.

Vegetation inventory and mapping is a process to document the composition, distribution and abundance of vegetation types across the landscape. The National Park Service’s (NPS) Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) program has determined vegetation inventory and mapping to be an important resource for parks; it is one of 12 baseline inventories of natural resources to be completed for all 270 national parks within the NPS I&M program. The Mojave Desert Network Inventory & Monitoring (MOJN I&M) began its process of vegetation inventory in 2009 for four park units as follows: Lake Mead National Recreation Area (LAKE), Mojave National Preserve (MOJA), Castle Mountains National Monument (CAMO), and Death Valley National Park (DEVA). Mapping is a multi-step and multi-year process involving skills and interactions of several parties, including NPS, with a field ecology team, a classification team, and a mapping team. This process allows for compiling existing vegetation data, collecting new data to fill in gaps, and analyzing the data to develop a classification that then informs the mapping. The final products of this process include a vegetation classification, ecological descriptions and field keys of the vegetation types, and geospatial vegetation maps based on the classification. In this report, we present the narrative and results of the sampling and classification effort. In three other associated reports (Evens et al. 2020a, 2020b, 2020c) are the ecological descriptions and field keys. The resulting products of the vegetation mapping efforts are, or will be, presented in separate reports: mapping at LAKE was completed in 2016, mapping at MOJA and CAMO will be completed in 2020, and mapping at DEVA will occur in 2021. The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and NatureServe, the classification team, have completed the vegetation classification for these four park units, with field keys and descriptions of the vegetation types developed at the alliance level per the U.S. National Vegetation Classification (USNVC). We have compiled approximately 9,000 existing and new vegetation data records into digital databases in Microsoft Access. The resulting classification and descriptions include approximately 105 alliances and landform types, and over 240 associations. CNPS also has assisted the mapping teams during map reconnaissance visits, follow-up on interpreting vegetation patterns, and general support for the geospatial vegetation maps being produced. A variety of alliances and associations occur in the four park units. Per park, the classification represents approximately 50 alliances at LAKE, 65 at MOJA and CAMO, and 85 at DEVA. Several riparian alliances or associations that are somewhat rare (ranked globally as G3) include shrublands of Pluchea sericea, meadow associations with Distichlis spicata and Juncus cooperi, and woodland associations of Salix laevigata and Prosopis pubescens along playas, streams, and springs. Other rare to somewhat rare types (G2 to G3) include shrubland stands with Eriogonum heermannii, Buddleja utahensis, Mortonia utahensis, and Salvia funerea on rocky calcareous slopes that occur sporadically in LAKE to MOJA and DEVA. Types that are globally rare (G1) include the associations of Swallenia alexandrae on sand dunes and Hecastocleis shockleyi on rocky calcareous slopes in DEVA. Two USNVC vegetation groups hold the highest number of alliances: 1) Warm Semi-Desert Shrub & Herb Dry Wash & Colluvial Slope Group (G541) has nine alliances, and 2) Mojave Mid-Elevation Mixed Desert Scrub Group (G296) has thirteen alliances. These two groups contribute significantly to the diversity of vegetation along alluvial washes and mid-elevation transition zones.

Os indicadores fundamentais que recollerán as análises cobren principalmente datos de centros, alumnado e profesorado e as variables independentes máis utilizadas son a titularidade do centro e o sexo do alumnado e profesorado, cando existen estes datos. As series consideradas sitúanse ao redor dos dez cursos académicos, tamén segundo a dispoñibilidade e posibilidade comparativa das fontes, salvo no caso das ensinanzas universitarias, onde se optou por series algo menos extensas.
