Abstract:
Our social life revolves around kinship and in-law relationships; thus, every individual is chained in these relations. After marriage, some new relationships are established. These relationships make one family closer to the other. Men should keep a safe distance from women's female relatives after marriage according to Islamic Sharia. Similarly, women should keep a safe distance from men's male relatives, but at present, such sanctity is being violated that is disturbing family life. So, there is a need to propagate awareness on this specific subject. It is need of the hour that our national institutions must address such matters and respond them immediately. The Islamic Ideological Council and Federal Sharia Court should suggest new legislation in this regard as per the given Islamic teachings. Muslim society can have peaceful and noble family relationships to act upon divine commandments regarding sanctity and respect of in-laws. We should not import foreign culture in our societies about disrespect of in-laws through media. This article traces out the respect and sanctity regarding in-law relationships according to Islam.

Abstract:
Abstract This article investigates historical conceptualizations of sanctity in medieval saints’ legends. Sanctity, in its textual representations, emerges from the interaction of traditional legendary narratives, their textual transmission, and varying models of imitability. The legend of St Oswald illustrates the versatility of the saint as persona imitabilis: While historical accounts describe Oswald as a missionary king and martyr, the ›Munich Oswald‹ links the motif of conversion by marriage to the narrative model of the bridal quest. Simultaneously, the feudal aspects of the bridal quest are questioned by references to sanctification by renunciation. This aporetical constitution of sanctity is retold and harmonized in the Berlin manuscript mgq 478. Most of the included narratives have been edited so that they lead to a happy ending. The ›Berlin Oswald‹ thus provides another new model of imitability, the socially acceptable saint, which allows for a better understanding of late medieval conceptualizations of sanctity as well as saints’ legends as a narrative genre.

Abstract:
The treatise of Saint Augustine, bishop of Hippo, intituled De bono coniugali presents the unique dogmatist and at the same time moralistic view on the topic of marriage, which did not have, at the time, the analogy in the patristic literature. In this paper we focus on the Saint Augustine’s apology of the marriage. In centre of our interest will be the moral principles of the married couples issued from the main characteristic rudiments of the marriage defined by our bishop of Hippo that are used in the catholic Church almost without any changes also in nowadays. The marriage as the union of man and woman was from the beginning viewed as the base of the human society of any religion. Also the pagan Rome esteemed a lot the family and the spouses procreating and raising the children for the fatherland. The Christianity brings to the marriage the new aspect by giving to it the character of the sanctity and inviolability. The marriages were united with the goal of the procreation of the legitimate offspring but its absence, according Saint Augustine, did not make the obstacle of the sanctity and the purpose of the marriage. The Church in the confrontation with the pagan customs and traditions, or the sinful concupiscence of the man, well maintained the observation of the sacrament of the marriage, which provides with the new content. That is why the marriage became the sacred union based on the norm of the inviolability, the equality of both spouses, the procreation of the offspring and mutual fidelity. By theses rules the Church helped the women to gain the more dignify position in the society than it given by the roman legislative.

Abstract:
Marriage is an ordained institution by God, and it is held in high esteem in every society, Ùlále ̣ ̀ inclusive. A lady who is going into a marriage contract is expected to be pure by abstaining from sexual experience prior to the official seal of the marriage with her spouse. Ùlále ̣ ̀ displays a long marriage process that could span two decades depending on the level at which a would-be bride is sighted by her suitor and approved of by her parents as found in ìnna síse ‘obligatory responsibility to in-laws’. The marriage ceremony is filled with some flamboyancy of ùdanàa ‘engagement’, ugbá ìyàó dídì ‘packing of bridal wedding materials’, the concepts and presentation of ẹran ọkọgbó-yàgbó ‘animal for marriage rites’ and asọ ùbálé ‘virginity napkin’. I established that of the various marriage types, the ìyàó yeeyà ‘solemnity wedding’ is the most remarkable and the ultimate that every member of the community looks forward to. Its uniqueness in terms of the process of becoming a suitor, to the ìnna síse, and the procedures for the marriage ceremony has been carefully discussed. I presented the concept of ùbálé ‘virginity’ in this community and showed “its value” and “the shame” that awaits a lady who lost her virginity before the marriage. I gave the concept of virginity a wider view and established that virginity may be lost inadvertently and concluded that breaking the hymen, which is to be synonymous with loss of virginity, is not obtained through sexual intercourse alone

The purpose of this study is to describe the efforts of the Nagari government in overcoming promiscuity. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The unit of analysis in this study is the family. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The conclusion of this study is than in overcoming the association of teenagers who are increasingly free in terms of dating, sunch as by conducting socialization and counseling in every school in Koto bangun, then giving advice to teenagers who are found dating in a place which is quiet, giving a warning and a sanction if the teenager who has been given advice still reperats it, namely by notifying the parent at home and will process it at the nagari office of they have deviaded outside the limits. But by doing several ways to overcome this, there are still teenagers eho do deviant behavior, especially in terms of dating. Abstract:
On November 4, 2008 California voters passed Proposition 8, and accordingly same-sex marriage was banned under the state constitution. Proposition 8 is now being considered by the Supreme Court. The proposition has sparked national debate about the nature of the relationship between the state and citizens’ sexuality and corresponding rights; calling into question the practice of allocating rights and privileges on the basis of sexuality and family form. Proponents of the proposition, who can be classified as predominantly socially conservative, want to maintain the status and privileges of marriage for heterosexuals; arguing that allowing same-sex marriage threatens the legitimacy, sanctity and strength of traditional heterosexual marriage. This article examines the extent to which three Californian pro-same-sex marriage organizations (Equality California, Join the Impact, and the Courage Campaign) have challenged and/or appropriated social conservative and neoliberal discourses in their effort to gain access to the rights and privileges that are currently administered through marriage.

Abstract:
In the period 1909—1927, new laws concerning divorce and marriage were enacted by the Scandinavian countries. Both at the time and more recently, these laws were considered as ‘‘liberal’’ as they promoted greater freedom to divorce based on individuality and gender equality. In this article, the authors first analyze the changes in these Family laws in the early twentieth century. Then, the authors study the effect of these laws on divorce and marriage patterns. As these laws did not modify the trend in divorce rates, the authors ask why this was the case. The authors’ conclusions are that the laws were more concerned with preserving the sanctity of marriage and maintaining social order than with promoting individual freedom and gender equality.

Abstract:
The people of the Sangam period, who lived within a multi-professional social structure such as hunting, agriculture, and war, developed some spells and rituals whenever they had disruptions in those occupations. It is the function of anticipating material needs through nature. The mantras and rituals of ancient society are mostly based on prosperity. In that aspect, the woman who is the core nucleus of human opulence is seen as a symbol of prosperity in various events. The woman is entitled to high respect in the stages of puberty, marriage, and maternity. Especially for the sake of puberty and maternity, the woman is sanctified and forbidden. This article sets out to illustrate how mantra is transformed into religion when the consecrated woman is elevated to the status of a deity.
